N85 & Parrot bluetooth oddities

Hi everyone,
I've recently tried using my N85 with my Parrot 3200LS car kit and found a few issues that I'm wondering if there's a fix for.
In short, the Parrot is not A2DP compatible....it's for calls only, but the phone tries piping everything through it.....the tone for text messages, alert tones, the ring tone, the voice guidance from Route66 and even music from the music player, albeit in pitiful and tinny mono quality.
My Samsung Omnia HD on S60 5th never did this - it only tried putting call audio through the Parrot and nothing else, with all other audio coming through the phone itself so you'd think the N85 on S60 3rd would behave the same.
On the display of the phone it only shows the little car symbol and not the headphone symbol too so you'd think the phone would know to to try outputting all audio through the bluetooth but it would appear not.
For the record I'm on FW 31.002.
Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Just to add my wifes N95-1 behaves in the same way (apart from the fact you can't use contacts on that phone).
Seems to be a common issue with the Nokia bluetooth stack as the Samsung never had this problem.

  • 1.1.3 and Parrot Bluetooth car kit problems and solution

I've discovered a potential fix with help from the good folks at Parrot Bluetooth devices technical support. The main issue with version 1.1.3 upgrade and car kits appears to be when the iPhone attempts to sync contacts with the BT device. Apparently, something changed in 1.1.3 about how Apple sent contacts through BT. To fix it on a Parrot car kit, first delete the iPhone from the list of paired devices on the car kit. Then unpair the car kit on the iPhone. Pair the two devices following your devices instructions, only with contact synchronization disabled. On my 3200LS this meant selecting "Disable Synchro" from the phone pairing list. The connection was quick and rock solid after doing this.
I have seen reports of this same solution working with Ford Sync devices also, and it may address some of the Garmin issues too. Obviously, this isn't ideal since you won't have any contacts or at least will have to manually enter them on your device. But it should get you through until Apple devises a fix in a near future (hint Apple) upgrade.

    Klash,
Try updating to iPhone 1.1.4, and see if your issue is resolved.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Need the opinion of experts: N85 with Bluetooth pr...

Really need the opinion of experts on this one.
My N85 was swapped after the complaint that the Music Library Menu opened automatically after pairing with bluetooth of the car (permanent failure). Another complaint was that video recording was defective (intermittent failure). Also, Nokia detected great consumption of battery.
My question is: the swap came back the same relating to the bluetooth problem.. Is this a case of bad repair or a case of low knowledge...? I'm wondering if the Music Library Menu is to open when pairing with car bluetooth (strangely)....

The Dell Precision 380 has 3 PCIe slots: a x16 (for video cards), a x1,
and a x4.  I'm sure there are other PCs on the market with
    multiple PCIe slots.
Alternatively, the PCIe-8362 has TWO cabled PCI Express links.  So
you only need one slot in your host PC.  This may not be the best
solution, however, if bandwidth is your primary concern.  With one
8362 connected to two chassis, the total maximum throughput is 160
MB/s.  With two 8361s (each connected to a different chassis), the
total maximum throughput is 220 MB/s (110 MB/s on each).
Finally, keep in mind that the PXI chassis in your system are still
running at PCI speeds (132 MB/s).  Plus, this bandwidth is shared
across all devices in the system.  So the MXI Express connection
to the chassis may not be the bottleneck in the system.
    Good luck!

  • N95 and Parrot Bluetooth

    Hi,
I have recently bought a Parrot in car bluetooth system and have got it to work with my N95, just wanted to know if there is a setting on my phone so that I can share my phonebook with this bluetooth handsfree. At the moment I have to scroll on the phones phonebook, when there is the option to do it on the bluetooth units screen.
Not sure if this is a N95 issue or a Parrot issue, so I would appreciate and help or suggestions.
    Regards
    Palavea

  • Nokia 7610 and parrot bluetooth

hi, i have a parrot fitted in my car, which worked well with my raza, but as this has broken i have gone back to my old phone the 7610. i can conect the the parrot but how do i get all my contacts on to the parrot, like i had when i was using the raza.
i have tried marking all so i could send via bluetooth, but the only option it gives me is to send them via email.
    any advice greatly appriciated.

    Hi,
This is taken from the headset's support website: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/accessories/hbh-ds200?lc=en&cc=ca
To pair the headset with your phone:
    1. Make sure the headset is turned off.
    2. Turn on the Bluetooth function and Bluetooth visibility in your phone (this makes the phone visible to other Bluetooth devices).
    3. Place the phone within 20 cm (8 inches) of the headset.
    4. Press and hold down the on/off key on the headset until the display shows the flashing pairing icon.
    5. If your phone supports auto pairing, press "Yes" when you're asked to add the headset to the phone. If not, see your phone User guide on how to pair the Bluetooth device. If required, the headset passcode is 0000.
The headset shows the battery status and the on/off icon when successfully paired.
Note: When in pairing mode, the headset switches off if you don't pair it with the phone within 10 minutes.
Try the above with the steps you took on ur phone and it should pair up properly - most ppl tend to forget that u need to activate pairing mode on the headset as well as on the phone

  • IPhone 5S Bluetooth call quality

Problem: Degraded iPhone sound quality over Bluetooth when making voice call, FaceTime video/audio calls and Siri requests.
I have been waiting for Apple to release a software update to fix this issue for some time. It appears to be a known issue however I have yet to see a response from Apple regarding the issue. Oddly, streaming music from my iPhone via Bluetooth delivers crystal clear sound. I suspect the iPhone uses a different Bluetooth profile for call streaming. Would someone be able to confirm this?
It is worth noting that I am having this issue with every one of my Bluetooth devices. I have a Bluetooth-enabled Sony HiFi, Sony Bluetooth earphones and a Pioneer car stereo system with Parrot Bluetooth.
Does anybody else have this issue? Would someone else with an iPhone 5S + Bluetooth devices be able to try and see if they share the exact same problem (that is degraded sound quality when making FaceTime video/audio calls and Siri requests over Blueooth)
    Thanks.

  • IOS 7 & Bluetooth Streaming Issues (CD Skipping Effect)

Ever since IOS & came out, my iphone 4 has a CD skipping sound to it when I stream music from my music library or any audio app. At first I thought it was my Kenwood radio but I updated it and it was still there. Next I tried to stream on my friend Parrot Bluetooth hands free device. Same thing.
Whenever a text comes through or I unlock the phone and even navigate through the phone it will do it. If the phone is locked then it wont do it. I have to turn off the phone and reboot it and then all is well for the next day or 2 before it comes back.
I tried searching everywhere and no results. It is a really annoying thing that needs to get fixed. I was hoping in each update that the problem would go away. IOS 6 never had this problem.
    Any Suggestions?

Seriously...no one else has this same issue?
Does this mean I really have to upgrade to a new phone because Apple just cant leave well enough alone?
I really wish they would not have allowed iPhone 4's to be upgraded to iOS 7. iOS 6 was the best for these phones as far as I am concerned.

  • Bluetooth boombox A2DP troubles help anyone ???

Recently installed Leopard due to the fact (amongst other things) it supports A2DP. I need this for my Parrot bluetooth speakers. I have been able to get them to work a couple of times, however, it only connects for a bit then the connection falls over and it won't reconnect unless i remove the device and re-install. Even this doesn't work 100% of the time. I can't figure out why it fails, other than its an issue with the bluetooth A2DP bit. In summary I cannot sustain a bluetooth a2dp connection between my macbook and bluetooth speakers. Anybody had similar problems, any fixes ?

I had just bought a Music Fan Bluetooth Speaker, only to discover I couldn't connect it to play music form my Macbook. The Japanese user manual was less than helpful and did not supply me with the Passkey my computer kept asking for when I tried to connect it.
After several hours research today I have discovered that OS X Tiger is not set up to support A2DP Bluetooth connections on its own. I did discover how to get it to work though!
    1. Install Softick Audio Gateway for Mac OS X: http://www.softick.com/macosx/audio-gateway/
    2. Once installed start the program and click on the music note icon in the menu bar. Set up your bluetooth device and play the music....
    3. If you are still asked for a passkey see the following guide on ebay - it worked for me: http://reviews.ebay.com/How-To-Pair-Most-Cellphone-Computer-Bluetooth-Headsets_W 0QQugidZ10000000005183093?ssPageName=BUYGD:CAT:-1:LISTINGS:5
It does say on the Softick site that using this utility may help bluetooth issues on Leopard also. I am only running the free trial at present and it seems to be working quite well with the small exception to a slight stutter/interferance in the sound every now and again. The full version costs about £10 but I am unsure as to what extra you get for buying it.
    Hope this helps.....

  • N86 8MP will not pair up with car bluetooth

Hello / Hi.  This is THE most frustrating and annoying time I have spent with a phone, and it makes me doubly detremined to go 'anything but Nokia' in the next few months.
Anyway, my N86 8MP is under warrantee so when it broke last week, the Australian Nokia Care people replaced it - and I picked it up today.  Got to my car and the darned phone will not pair up to the bluetooth in my car.  This is the second time I have had problems pairing up with this phone - the first being when I got the N86 five months ago.
N86 Phone will find all kinds of 'devices' including the Parrot Bluetooth in my VW car - it just will not 'pair'.  Now have about ten 'devices' on my N86 that it found while doing what the downloaded N86 instruction manual told me to do, and cannot delete any of them.  What I am copying and pasting below, taken from page 56 of the Nokia manual, just is NOT possible.  I mean one is not able to Delete any fool thing - there isn't even a 'delete' option on my phone.
To delete a pairing, select the device whose pairing you
want to delete and Options > Delete. To delete all
pairings, select Options > Delete all. If you are currently
connected to a device and cancel the pairing with that
device, pairing is removed immediately, and the
    connection is ended.
I have updated the phone software this evening - when supplied new to me by Nokia Care this morning, the phone was about two or more years behind in terms of software - but after downloading some 35 Mb an hour or two ago, it now has the latest version 30.009.  STILL I cannot pair my bluetooth.  STILL I cannot delete any of the devices my phone found earlier today.
Oh, by the way, I have tried three other brands of phones and all pair up with my car bluetooth.  So it's not the bluetooth device.
I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to have a new phone that dissapoints me as much as the one it replaced.  Oh, Nokia replaced my previous N86 because it wasn't charging the battery properly.
But I ned to get this fool phone to work - at least for now.  And it is SO frustrating when the
Nokia N86 8MP User Guide Issue 3.0 does not help - AND tells you to do things that my phone just cannot do - like go into Options Delete, when it doesn't exist.
So how DO I delete all the devices my phone found?
And how DO I get my phone to recognise and pair with my car bluetooth?
    Please help.
    Thank you SO very much.
    Pete

    Hi ganesh8888
Unfortunately the UDP = User Data Preservation feature of your device is working to your disadvantage here, whereas in days of old a firmware update would have wiped out settings. Provided that you backup essential data first you can then hard reset - hold the following buttons * (star key), 3 (number button) and green (phone key) depressed and power on whilst keeping these three keys down until after Nokia "shaking hands" appears. This should return device to out of box state showing "select country".
Unfortunately you don't say which Parrot Bluetooth you are using but as example support here:http://www.parrot.com/tur/musterihizmetleri/musterihizmetleri/parrot-sk4000/compatibility/?idproduct...

  • Synchronise contacts with Parrot

I have recently acquired a 5800 XpressMusic and have been trying to connect to Parrot Bluetooth.  I am able to pair the devices but phone book is not synchronising.  Have gone into phone book and selected synchornise and then the Parrot name but without success.  Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it.
    Thanks

    Hi suemkay
Have you gone to your paired Bluetooth devices on your phone and in the options menu set the "Parrot" pairing to authorized?

  • Nokia N85, and my problems with the Nokia N96

    Hi there,
First of all, i have both phones (after buying the n85, because of issues with the N96), when i go to send a large file from the n96 to the n85 via bluetooth, it wont allow it as it says not enough memory, it seems that you can only send, what free memory your phones internal system has, im deeply confused as the video im sending is over 88mb, and was passed down from my previous nokias without any problems whats so ever, any ideas anybody??????
Secondly i feel a fool, as i bought like i said the n85 because of the problems with the and i quote" flagship model n96".... well, i can honestly say, ive wasted my money, because after installing the newest firmware 11 on it, it has since been running like a dream, albeit like it should have done last month, but i musnt grumble, now i need to decide which one to put on an auction site.
ps the n96 was bought with 3 network, the other from an auction site, both work fantastically well with the 3 network.
    ashton

Hi, beg to differ, I would sell the 96. The 85 is far better,OLED screen; a battery that lasts for days not hours; FM transmitter for when you are in your mates car who doesn't have a bluetooth radio; it breathes!!! is sleeker and of course it has a lens cover, for crying out loud why didn't they fit one to the 96!

    hi,
is the parrot HS been paired before with other phone or PC?
if so, try to delete the pairing in the parrot HS, or reset it (see the manual on how to do it), and then remove any pairing on the N96, and then try to pair the 2 again...

  • Sync issues w/ music and video

I'm a proud new owner of a 16GB iPod Touch and absolutely love it. However I have been running into some issues when transferring files from iTunes to the Touch. Transferring Videos or music from iTunes to the ipod appears to work. It shows that they are sync'ed and a transfer is in process. The file (video/audio) shows up on my ipod. But this is where the problem arises, and it's random. I'll play a video on my iPod Touch, and at any point in the video it will just stop playing and go back to the video playlist, like the transfer was incomplete. The same will occur for music. It will show the song/video, the proper length/time of the music/video, but at certain points the song/video cuts out and goes back to the playlist, as if the transfer was cut. I've tried more than 2 iPod cables and all the USB ports on my PC to no avail. If I delete the file, and re-transfer it in iTunes, there's a chance the transfer will complete so it seems like the sync corruption occurs sporratically. Is there any insight as to why this occurs and a possible fix??
Using iTunes 7.4.3 w/ iPod Touch 1.1.1 firmware

I have an Alpine receiver with Parrot bluetooth in my Jeep. Got a new iPhone 3gs with ios4. every time I start the Jeep, I have to enter the BT password and reconnect to the radio from my iPhone. I had a basic Motorola and basic LG phone that automatically synced with the radio every time I turned on the Jeep as long as bluetooth was active on the phone. Also had a Droid X that also auto synced. Just had to pair and connect with the pw the first time I used it. I don't know if this is ios4 related because I didn't have the iphone before.

  • Using hands free phone thru mp3 connection?

i have been currently using my curve 8330 in conjunction with a parrot bluetooth system for hands free phone. worked great..  unfortunately last week driver ran a red light and totaled my 05 honda element.  just bought a 2008 Ford Escape XLT.  does not have the microsoft sync system but does have an mp3 input jack.  i know my blackberry will work as an mp3 player but can i use the phone funtions such as voice dialing and hear the audio thru my audio sytem without purchasing another parrott system? much appreciate your advice.

Actually you can talk with the iPhone still connected to your car audio. I owe an '06 Nissan Armada with an auxiliary jack included. Sometimes I will use my Apple BT. Here lately, I've been using nothing other than the iPhone plugged in and talking. I can hear the person I'm talking to and vice-versa. I always knew I could talk using the BT, but I just found out two weeks ago, that I could talk and listen without a BT, at all. The only thing you'll need to do is, make sure to decrease the volume of your system, in order to avoid any feedback. It'll work just fine, if you do it right. trust me.
