N85 picture editing...

I've had this phone for about a month now, and i gotta say it's the best phone i've had so far... but now i can't edit any of my pictures... i could a couple days ago, but now, when i get a pic, go to options>edit, the picture shows up and about that time, the options to edit (crop, cartoonise etc) are meant to come up. but now they dont, and so whenever i go full screen, it goes white... and whenever i click the middle/select button, a small white box surrounds the middle of the picture, and i cant do anything but click select or back... but when i select, the editing closes...
Anyone else have this problem?

Then you may try resetting your phone by following these steps:
- A restore by keying in *#7780# when on standby - This will not delete any data but will restore all the settings back to default.
If that does not help then you may wanna try doing a soft reset by keying in *#7370# when on standby - This will reformat the phone. DO NOT FORGET TO DO A BACK UP AS THIS WILL ERASE YOUR ENTIRE PHONE MEMORY.
The security code by default is 12345
If this fails as well then you may try doing the Hard reset by performing the 3 finger reset. You can do this by switching the phone on with the '3', '*' and green 'call' buttons pressed at the same time.
Mark me a KUDOS if this has helped...

  • Pictures edited in iPhoto look different in other applications

I'm running iLife '08 on my new iMac with Leopard 10.5.2
In iPhoto '08 (updated to 7.1.3) I do the following:
    1) Import a picture to the library and double click it to zoom in.
    2) This shows lots of imperfections, so I click on Edit and touch up the picture, then click done.
    3) The next time I double click the picture to zoom in, the imperfections are still there, but if I click on edit the changes I applied at step 2 become visible.
    4) If I export the photo and view in, say Preview, or choose send to iDVD, the resulting image has a lot more imperfections than the image shown in edit mode in iPhoto.
Why do my photos look so much better when viewed in iPhoto edit mode than when viewed in iDVD or Preview?

    Hi,
thanks for responding. I tried both of your suggestions, but no change unfortunately.
If you look at the two photos uploaded here (captured via Grab), the first shows the picture post-editing (i.e. from iPhoto whilst not in edit mode, or from another app such as Preview or iDVD). The second shows the photo as it displays whilst in iPhoto's edit mode. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Pictures edited with Photoshop becomes huge in file size

    Hey,
Sometimes I like to edit my pictures with Photoshop if there are some things I need to remove etc. But after I save my picture from within Photoshop, it takes up like 70MB or something in my Aperture library. That's a lot for a single picture. Isn't there something to be done so they get down to around RAW-filesize level?
Or do I have to go the long way round and export first (as what?), then edit in Photoshop, save as JPEG, import to Aperture?

This issue of size is not Aperture, per se. If you open one of your RAW files saved directly from the camera to a folder on your Mac, then open with Photoshop, change to Mode settings to be 16 bit vs 8 bit, then Save As a TIFF, you will see the same size increase.
Aperture by default is working in 16 bit color, and that alone will increase TIFFs or PSDs by a factor of two.
Photoshop needs the image file to be either TIFF or PSD to accomplish and then save most edits that require Photoshop, and that you can later re-edit. If your edit requires layers, then you can flatten the image before saving to not pass that increase back into Aperture storage.
Although you can save your edited image as a JPEG in PS, there is no facility to directly pass this back to the Aperture Library.
I find little reason to use Photoshop for editing, unless I need to work with layers, btw, especially since Aperture 3.

  • Can iphoto '9 read pictures edited in iphoto '11

I recently took some pictures for a family member.  I have iPhoto '11 and they have iPhoto '9.  I edited and burned these pics onto a DVD for her.  She can't seem to pull them up in iPhoto '9.  So the question is, can you view pics in iPhoto '9 that were edited in iphoto '11?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes iPhoto 09 can certainly view pics edited in 11, but it can't read the 11 Library.
So, if you burned these to DVD using iPhoto's 'Share -> Burn'command, what you've done is burn a mini iPhoto library to disk.
Try export the pics: File -> Export to a folder on the desktop, then burn that folder to disk with the Finder.

  • N85 picture deleted automatically

I have nokia n85. Recently I am having a problem. The pictures that I take with the camera are deleted automatically after some days. for xample I took a few picz about 2 weeks ago. I used to see them until today. But today they are gone. When I go via file manager, there is no pic. but in the gallery, only the title of those pic appears. But i have the pics of 3 months earlier. they r stored perfectly. only the recent photos r deleted. plz someone help.

What network are you on? Often the network will shrink down MMS messages to smaller sizes during transmission, to save themselves (but not you) some money.
That's a pretty tiny image, though, I don't think anyone's shrinking them that much.

  • Saving pictures edited in Elements 6 back to iPhoto

I am have started editing pictures in Elements 6 by choosing that as the default editor. When I try to save the picture back to iPhoto it does not show up in the folder it seems to be saved to. Am I having several senior moments here? I go File > SaveAs and choose the event file in iPhoto.

This also may be of some help:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • 5800 Application SW Updater and picture editing is...

    Hi there,
I've recently updated firmware to V40 and initially I didn't have this problem, but now for some reason, the application software updater (under application menu) won't work. When I select it, it tries to load, but immediately closes. I can't for the life of me understand why this wouldn't work or why it would suddenly stop working. Is there a way to download the sw updater from OVI store or something?? I've even tried a hardware reset (green, red and camera button while turning the phone on), but that hasn't helped.
At the same time, I've also noticed that I can't edit any pictures. The same thing happens - I click on the edit button, the picture loads, but as soon as I try add an effect, it closes the application.
Anyone have any idea what's going on here?
    Thanks, Andrew

Reset the 5800. Dial *#7370# 12345 reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings.

  • N85 picture settings question

I tried asking this in the "N Series" section but got ver very little help. I figured those posting in this section are more interested in the picture side of mobile phones. So therefore are more knowledgable and be better at helping.
    So here it goes:
I have a Nokia N85 and i'm having trouble sending and receiving pictures full size. If i do receive pictures or send them to other phones they are signifcantly reduced in size and appear as a small square on screen. I have attached a pic of my phone screen with a picture displayed that was sent to me after from my girlfriends N85.
I have been through the settings to the best of my knowledge and set the image size to large but this seems to have no effect.
To do this i went to MESSAGING>OPTIONS>SETTINGS>MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE>IMAGE SIZE (set this to large)
    Please help!

I may be wrong here, but I think the size of the picture is network dependant, so you may need to check with your operator.
The best option would be to email the pictures instead of using MMS.

  • Picture in picture editing

I edited a video clip in imovie resulting in several smaller clips. The original unedited movie clip goes into picture in picture with no problem. The smaller clips do not. How do you take a part of the video clip and put it in picture in? When I try, it just puts the clip next to it.
Please advise.....Thank you for your help.

Update: In my case, it definitely seems to have something to do with PNG support. I'm using cutaway to overlay a transparent PNG (like a logo or lower-third). PIP works fine, cutaway works fine with JPG files. Put in the PNG, and iMovie randomly chooses to freeze the preview video while the cutaway clip is active (video playback resumes after the cutaway clip ends).
I have tried the "Project Properties" fix (set default to Crop), but that does not work.
Perhaps this is different enough to warrant a new discussion...

  • Why are pictures edited on iMac looking "warmer" than on a PC?

I am a photographer and bought the 27" iMac along with Photoshop CS5 in order to edit pictures and post them on the web.  After my first edit/post, I immediately noticed that the pictures I edited on the Mac looked perfect on the Mac and printed well from the Mac, but looked horrible...much "cooler" or "bluer"...when viewed on a PC.  How do I correct this problem??  Do the display/color profiles need to tweak on the Mac and/or Photoshop?

How are you viewing the pictures on your iMac? editor? preview? Browser? which browser?
How are you viewing the pictures on the PC? Windows Viewer? Browser? which browser?
Do other PCs show the pictures as cool/blue?
If your picture prints the way you want it , I would be happy with that. Have you sent a picture to be printed at a commercial place (costco etc) and was it satisfactory?

  • Addressbook picture edit does not allow iPhoto library entries in menu

I can't get the iPhoto picture to show up for selection when inserting an image in an address. See the attached menu, not the list of options on left contains no way to access iPhoto images. Is there any way to search for and add an iPhoto picture withe the Addressbook dialog (this used to work fine in Lion and earlier version of Addressbook). Drag and drop seems the only workaround. I'd think that since the old method allowed opening of iPhoto library and browsing for an image to insert. Why was this deleted?

Not disagreeing with you Colin, just sayin' that the web version (Cloud version) works differently, this seems weird because I don'r remembeer this ever working that way (in Lion or previous OS's)! Why change something that ain't broke? And it's far more user friendly the old way, on the iPad.
Why they did this in this ML release is beyond me. I actually never tried this before someone pointed it out to me.
