N85 - Stuck application, can't remove or re-instal...

Hi,
I have an application, RaceChrono, that I use a lot in my car and, for some reason, it has disappeared from my applications list. I can find it in "application manager", but can't remove it in order to re-install it. When I try and remove it, or re-install it, the message appears that another program is trying to use it, and asks me if I want to close it. When I say yes, the phone resets itself.
Any idea how I can remove this program so that I can re-install it?
Any help gratefully recceived.
Cheers,
Antony

I haven't tried that yet, but it seems like the problem is with the memory card. If I remove the card, the application isn't on the phone.
I've tried to remove the program in PC Suite, but when I delete it, the phone resets.
I found the program in the list on ngage, so I removed ngage from my phone, still the program exists in application manager and still it resets the phone when I try and remove it.
Apart from reformatting the memory card, is there anything else I can do?

    From what I understand, the problem is that your classes are compiled for a later version of Java. I'm not sure at this point that uninstalling Java 1.4 is the right solution - it may break important system functions.
    I would rather try another approach first:
    # alternatives --config java
    -> select the java version you want as default.If you want to install java 1.6 you can try the following:
    # yum install java-1.6*
    or just the runtime package
    # yum install java-1.6.0-openjdk
    For example:
    # java -version
    java version "1.4.2"
    # yum install java-1.6.0-openjdk
    # alternatives --config java
    There are 2 programs which provide 'java'.
      Selection    Command
    + 1           /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.4.2-gcj/bin/java
    *  2           /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64/bin/java
    Enter to keep the current selection[+], or type selection number: 2
    # java -version
    java version "1.6.0"

  • Can't remove java or install

    when i attempt to install java (runtime environment 5.0 update 6): "you already have this version of JRE installed. please uninstall the product through your add/remove programs utility before reinstalling."
    when i attempt to uninstall as advised: "internal error 2318. c\program files\java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\zi\asia\makassar" then "fatal error during installation."
    i have uninstalled everything java, but cannot remove this, or install java until this is removed.

    Check replies 4 thru 7 of this thread, http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=721559&tstart=75
    The file c\program files\java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\zi\asia\makassar apparently is trashed, follow the thread discussion and replace it with one of the other \zi\ files, then try removing Java.

  • Excel application - can't remove from memory

    I'm opening and reading a worksheet using the Excel application/reference methods from Labview.  Worked fine until some short time ago where now all my sheets are opened up as "read-only".  Worse yet, when I try to close the sheet and Quit excel application, task mgr shows it is still resident in memory.
    This worked well until our IT department added some Microsoft updates.  Any ideas?

    I'm guessing the microsoft updates have somehow set the files to be read only now. I'd find the files on your disk and check their properties. As for it being resident in memory, is the reference still open? I'm not sure if this would cause this issue, but it may. Make sure you close any references relating to your file when you are done with them, then close the file.

  • Antivirus software is blocking Bonjour install - can I remove Bonjour from install file?

    My work laptop has some restrictions that prevent me from installing Itunes 10.7 with Bounjour. Earlier it could be done by unzipping the instal file and delete the Bonjour install file, then install Itunes. I have some problems doing it with the new Itunes installer, anf would very much like some suggestions to how it can be done.

    I would think first about removing your anti-virus software. If you cannot do that, then you should disable it before doing any system software updates.

  • How can i remove my sim card which is stuck in my ipad3

    Like an idiot I have put my sim card directly into the sim card slot not using the holder. Now it is stuck. Can i remove it?

    Hold the iPad with the SIM slot facing down (over a bed or something soft in case you drop it) and shake it vigorously in all directions. I don't think the SIM card could've wedged itself inside that tightly but I've never seen the interior looks like in that particular area. If you've tried that with no result, take it in to an Apple Store as suggested above.

    The old mac doesn´t work anymore that I may have used..
    One typically removes them with the iTunes account on the computer they synced them from.  That said, if you have set up iTunes on another computer and authorized that iTunes account with your Apple ID and Password and you have been syncing with that computer, transferring all purchases etc., to that account, you should be able to click on photos in iTunes and uncheck the photos in that folder to take them off your iPad.

  • Can I remove the skip links piece from a WebCenter Portal Application?

    We have a better skip links implementation we would like to use. How can I turn off the default? Not simply hide it, but rather not render it at all period.  This goes the same for the noscript piece that says JavaScript is required to run the Application.  I also have a better solution I would like to use so I would also ask how do I disable the noscript piece. Do I need to edit some xml file or something? I search my application for "noscript" and "af:skipLinkTarget" and I can't find either one. How can I remove/disable these features. They are just not appropriate for this particular application. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi.
    Are you using Portal or Framework Portal?.
    In case of <noscript> is generated by JAVA internal classes and the unique way to change the message is with a Non supported workaround overriding a CoreBundle class.
    About the af:skipLinkTarget usually is in the Page Template. The default templates has it in next snippet:
    <f:facet name="center">
        <af:skipLinkTarget>
        <af:facetref facetname="content">
        </af:facetref>
      </af:skipLinkTarget>
    </f:facet>
    If you're using default Templates then copy them and remove the af:skipLinkTarget tag from the copied one and assign it to the Portal.
    I hope it helps.
    Regards.

    Hello,
         What is the version of the server you are using?
         The steps you have followed are perfectly fine and I don't see any issue there.
         I hope you refreshed the list on the Content Administrator before accessing the application.

  • How can I remove applications from the location service?

    In System Preferences> Security & Privacy> Privacy> Location Services are applications that ask the system to use the position of the Mac
    I realized, after uninstalling applications (Beta and Tweetbot Tweetbot 1.0MacAppStore and also Busycal)
    are not removed completely.
    In place of the icon there is a sheet with the application name
    Can anyone tell me how to clean this section?
    Applications the uninstall utilizizzando CleanMyMac, AppZapper and CleanApp
    but I did not get the desired result.
    I also looked into the operating system, but I found no trace

    You can't remove anything in that list - it is placed there by the system unfortunately. As long as you do not have any checked, nothing will happen. When I got my new MBP, I immediately unchecked the "enable location services" and assume that is the reason why there is nothing showing at all:
    However, I have a number of applications listed in the Contacts section - I've not allowed any because I fail to see a valid reason why a word processing app or iMovie needs my Contacts.

  • Can you remove some of the Default applications

    I want to give an iPod Touch to my mother who is technically challenged and doesn't have WiFi.
    I only want the iPod functionality, not the browsers, email, maps, or any other feature.
    Is there a way to disable or remove default apps that you don't want?
    ps: I do not want an iPod classic., it''s interface is harder to learn than the touch.

    I too would like to remove some of the default apps. Personally, I find the YouTube, Stocks, and Maps, useless to me and its just a waste of icon space. And whats with the "The touch may not be for you". Seriously, if someone wants a touch but doesn't want some of the default apps, that doesn't mean the touch is not for someone. I think it would be a smart move for Apple to revise the iPod (and iPhone, if people can't remove default apps on there) so that we may remove the default apps that we don't use. It makes absolutely no sense to just "move" the app to the back if we don't even use the app. That's like saying "you may not have any use for this app, but its here because we want to force you to keep the junk we give you". And it sounds a lot like a Microsoft move for the all the Windows operating systems they have released (up to Vista, so far) forcing Internet Explorer on all its users and not allowing us to remove it because it was integrated into the Operating System. Supposedly, Microsoft is growing up and letting the user to actually disable (maybe even remove) Internet Explorer in the upcoming Windows 7. What about Mac OS X, does it force Safari on its users, like its forcing some of these unnecessary apps onto the iPod Touch? I wouldn't don't know, I don't earn quite enough money to buy myself an iMac or MacBook (and I've even heard from several people that its more expensive to get a gaming Mac than a gaming PC with similar hardware configuration). Only Apple product I own so far is an iPod Touch.
    But I will give Anna credit. Anna at least answered the question.
    The question was "Can you remove some of the default applications" and a response saying "What is your mother going to use it for? Maybe the Touch is not the right device for her." by "D'Fish'N'Seas" does not answer the question at all. The question has nothing to do with what the mother is going to use the iPod for, so don't post a response like that, its one of the reasons that causes short tempered people to flame other people.
    Ok, so since Anna answered the question that Ron asked. I have a question related to this topic, and if Ron is still wanting to remove some default apps, I'm sure he would like an answer to the question too. So, here is my question: Has anyone developed an app that would allow us to remove the default apps, or a tool that will guide us in removing some default apps?
    And preferably the app or tool be in the most legal possible way. Wouldn't want to ask for something that is illegal.
