N86 8MP OVI Sync Problems

Okay I'll just briefly described my problem
Any help will be greatly appreciated
1) I did everything by getting the SMS for the OVI settings
2) I got the settings, saved it.
3) Changed my active sync from PC Suit to Ovi.com
4) After I click "syncronize", after about 1 minute or less It said Connection Error
a) I connect fine on WLAN, no problems whatsoever
b) The phone did not prompt me to ask whether I want to connect via  WLAN or 3G
Basically thats my problem,
Can anybody please help?
Basic Info,
I am using the N86 8MP phone
Im staying in Malaysia
Yes I ported Number from DiGi to Maxis (but i dont see this as a problem as i got the SMS settings just fine)
I've read through the forum and couldnt find anything similar
I've tried removing my mobile phone on Ovi.com and re-do the settings
any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your answer but it didn't work... The warning I got fromPcSync is that:
PC Sync information.
The connection to the Nokia device has been lost.
Possible Solution
Check the connection between the Nokia device and PC Sync, then restart synchronisation.
After attempting synchronization I tried to move a pdf file in the phone memory and the operation was succesfull...
Is there a chance that during the hard-reboot something was deleted from my phone that was neccesary?

  • N86 8mp having language problem

I am using n86 8mp,I updated my  software but only English & Chinese language is coming,I needed ARABIC language ,so pls help me,

If you had the Arabic Language before the update.. most probably the pack was installed by the retailer and it was not within the firmware. The Phone actually supposed to be sold in other region must have been bought by the retailer from Grey market to earn some extra money..
Now.. the only solution is to get the pack re-installed at Nokia Care. (..if they have it). Be informed that any future software update will again remove the language and it will need a re-install thru' Nokia care..

  • Ovi sync problems with n86

I bought a n86 about 3 weeks ago and at first it synchronized perfectly with ovi suite. At some point yesterday I had to do a hard-reboot (return to factory settings) due to some memory issues... from that point I am unable to synchronize my calendar, contacts and notes. On the other hand if i use nokia music or nokia application installer to move music or apps to the phone the processes goes smoothly. I would greatly appreciate any help...

  • Ovi sync problem on 5800

Ok I'm trying to synchronize with Ovi for the first time, and I'm getting this error message.
I have received the settings SMS, and saved it.  Any ideas???

Hi there, In the beginning I had the same issue. It looks like you have some things selected to sync which aren't supported by OVI (yet).
As far as I'm aware, you're only able to sync Contacts, Calendar and Notes.
Also, before you do so, please select options and then Change active profile. Set this to OVI.com (I'm using Dutch thing, so it might be called just a little bit different).
    Good luck,
    Michiel
As you can see from the screen shot I posted, all I am trying to sync is the contact, calendar and notes.  I do not have anything else marked.

  • N86 8mp Radio Transmitter problem

Hello I have an N86 which I've been using since 2 month ago and now suddenly the Fm Transmitter wont transmit music.
I can only get Nokia prodcasted on my radio but no sound of the music!
Please help I've sent it to repair and they returned it and saying they fixed it, but the same problem!

Thank you, but i have found the solution. This might be good for many n86 users!
There are two metal points at the top of thebattery input inside when you open the back cover. When connected to each other through the back cover wiring it acts as a signal producer, you may see the wire obviouse on the back of plastic cover when removed from the back, It looks like a thin metal sorrounding with two copper ends.
The solution is when changing your n86 cover REMEBER TO KEEP THE BACK COVER FROM THE ORIGINAL CASE  OR REPLACE WITH OFFICIAL NOKIA BACK COVER FOR THE PHONE!
    hope it helps
Its a shame how they couldnt figure it out at i2 nokia here in jordan

  • Nokia N86 8MP Photo Album problem

    Hi
Recently, when I opened the gallery to look at my photos, I found that in the "Captured" section of the gallery it said I had 0 photos, when previously there were around 300. If I try to browse to the pictures using the "Months" feature I also find there are 0 photos. The photos all still exist under the "All" catergory, however they have lost all the album associations they had before, and also a lot of them, had become other photos, in the older photographs kept cropping up again and again in the list of pictures.
When connected to the PC in mass storage mode the photos were all still there, and the ones which seemed to be duplicates of old photos when viewed on the phone were actually the photo they were supposed to be. Anyway, now when I take a new photo it it goes into the captured section of the gallery, BUT when I try to view the picture all I get is a thumbnail and picture of old pictures taken back in September. Again, on the PC they are the right photos, as they are meant to be.
This is super annoying, as I cannot view pictures I have taken recently, and most of the old pictures are unviewable as well (since the phone thinks they are duplicates of other photos), and the organisation of the 300 or so previous pictures has been lost, they are not in albums any more.
I have found NO helpful support regarding this with some Goolgling, PLEASE can someone help me out here? I am sorry if the description is unclear, but this is an awkward problem to describe. ANY help at all would be appreciated, as I have only just got this phone, and i really like all the features of it but I mainly bought it for tyhe camera and if it won't work I will have to change it for something inferior in functionality, but more reliable in imaging.
    Thanks in advance
    Henry

Mine does that sometimes. It is a bug. Take the battery off and restart the phone. The pictures taken won't ever return to the gallery but new ones should go in properly. Yet another infuriating feature. There seems to be an issue with the phone if you close the camera slider with the main slider open. It causes some issue with saving new pictures. It also does it even if you are careful not to do this after so much use. Unless you check after every photo taken that it has gone into the gallery you have no idea it is doing this as the post picture preview appears as normal. I also wonder whether going into messaging with a photo while the camera slider is still open is leading to this bug too.
It might be better to save all the pics onto the pc and delete every one of them off the phone and see if you can restore them back from the pc.
Also see if a sd card is any more/less reliable for picture taking storage.

  • Sync problem with OVI / Outlook of the notes with ...

    Hello,
I'm desperate and close to open the gaz :-). I used to sync my Outlook notes with all my former phones with PC-suite. Since I have a new N8, I'm forced to use OVI instead of PC-Suite as it doesn' support this model phone. Everything seems to be possible in the set up but the sync doesn't work and always return an error code : 83860026. It even ask to reinstall Outlook which took sometime but never changed anything. As it might be due to other unknown variables, I tried the same Outlook database with other PC with XP or W7, office 2003, 2007 and even 2010 and the sync always fail with the same miserable error code. I'm fairly suprised to see this problem still there since I gave up, years ago, to use OVI because of this. My N97 and 6303 do the same. Can someone bring some good help to resolve this annoying trouble please?
    Thanks in advance, Fabrice

    Dear Satari,
thanks a lot for the advice but in the meantime I found another post stating that version 7.1.40.6 PC-Suite works great with the N8. I kept it in my archives and I can state that it WORKED GREAT in less than 5mn!
So far your suggestions might resolve the OVI sync problem but I have no more courage to follow it. I was yet using the latest version of OVI and W7 and Office2010.
However, if it would work, I would recommand the OVI software team to find out why one of their software work very fine while the other seem to cause trouble to the entire world. I could not find a single complain about PC-Suite while the support discussion ifs full of OVI reported troubles for the last 2,5 years. What a shame!
Furthermore, it is unacceptable that NOKIA force their client to use OVI with any phone while they know this software is so unstable. I would add that the "gift" is even worst when it comes to the most expensive product of the range. As the general manager of a software company, I have learnt that it is never good to insist with a product when the development team is unable to cope with bugs and troubles. Whatever the cause could be, it is better to restart from scratch and get rid of EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY involved in the mess! Please Mr Nokia new president, act positively and do your homeworks in the interest of your clients and sharholders. Additionnally, if I had not spoken English I would still be on the road side! Thanks in advance to care of us MORE.

  • N86 8MP and bleutooth: "Phone could not be verifie...

    Hello all,
    I have a N86 8MP with a problem.
I cannot connect it to my PC with PC Suite by using bleutooth.
PC Suite can find the phone, but after entering the password (usually 123) it says "phone cannot be verified".
Software on the phone is updated, and my pc uses a compatible bleutoothdriver (in Vista), yes I checked.
How can I solve this problem?

Did you set your phone visibility to show to all?

  • Sync problem in OVI Suite 3.0.0.284

Working with nokia 2630 for a long time and since a few weeks with ovi suite 3.0.0.284.
Also work with Outlook 2003. Ovi suite syncs my appointments en contacts between Outlook and 2630. This works fine, until this morning.
The problem is a winter / summer time problem, imo.
    Description:
I've made an appointment in Outlook.
    Startdate 29-01-2011 from 9.00 - 12.00, every 5 weeks with an enddate on 18-06-2011.
Then an OVI sync started, which ends as usual in a correct way.
What shows the result on the 2630:
    date 29-01-2011, 9.00 - 12.00
    date 05-03-2011, 9.00 - 12.00
    date 09-04-2011, 8.00 - 11.00
    date 14-05-2011, 8.00 - 11.00
    date 18-06-2011, 8.00 - 11.00
The last 3 apoointments need to be manual corrected to 9.00 - 12.00.
When summertime starts only systemtime is updates and not the appointment times.
I hope I made myself clear enough to let you solve this application failure.
    Kind regards
    Gerard Roelands (groelands)

Could you please provide more information on this?

  • X6 and ovi suite sync problem - usb connection

i recently bought an x6 and set up ovi suite etc which all worked fine! yesterday i updated maps and the x6 operating system using ovi which again seemed to work fine. Now however when i connect phone to my pc the pc comes up problem with hardware installation and ovi suite only occassionally recognises phone - even when it does it will not sync music! help please - wish i hadn't updated anything as it all worked fine before !!!!

I have a similarly frustrating sync problem with my X6. It's my second phone too.
I've had Ovi Suite installed on my computer for about 9 months. I had difficulty getting it to sync with my X6 phone at first but after some troubleshooting I got it working reasonably well.
However over the last few months it doesn't initiate the syncing process after I connect my device. I can open Ovi Suite and click the sync buttons but it doesn't do anything. It doesn't freeze or crash either which is strange considering it is not processing the request.
I've tried everything including reinstalling the software and resetting my phone. This worked once and since went back to it's old tricks.
The only thing that works is removing the X6 device in OVI suite, rebooting the PC and adding the device again. This is real pain in the backside as you can imagine doing this each time I want to sync it.
In contrast the previous version - PC Suite - worked well with my old Nokia phone.
Nokia support have provided some guidance after pushing for a reply but you dont get expert or timely help from them.
Come on, we cant be just a few people having these issues? I reckon lots of x6 owners aren't getting full value from these devices.
It's at the stage where I'd not recommend a Nokia x6 or other Nokia phone to anyone wanting the PC connectivity which is one of the major benefits of a phone these days.
Go on Nokia give us some love!
