N86 very weak signal reception

I bought a new n86 a few days ago but I found that the signal recertion is really very very low in some places compared to a nokia n70.
At the time an n70 (or many other phones) has 7 bars , an n86 has NO bars (out of network coverage)
That's a very frustrating problem, Can this problem be fixed? Is this a hardware or a software issue?
Can the Nokia care find a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Here some tips,
* use your phone on GSM mode
* use any other network
if not solved take it to Nokia Care Center, they'll check it.
Glad to help

I bought my iPhone 4 open line in Vancouver, Canada last week for use here in my home base in Bangkok, Thailand.  But when I tried using my Thai sim, I get a very weak signal, if not a weak signal, then a no service status.  I also have very weak wifi reception.  What do I do?
    I already tried the following:
    a. Turned the phone off and then on.
    b. Checked all wifi connections – no problem given that all our laptops and desktops can connect seamlessly.
    c. I tried restoring the phone to original factory settings via itunes
    d. Tried resetting the phone.
    e.     Tried different microsims from all networks
    f. However, all methods failed given that the network reception is very weak and often reflects – “no service”.  And with regards to the wifi reception It has difficulty in reading even the signal right in front of the wifi router.
I went to two Apple resellers here in Bangkok and requested that they please look at my Iphone and have it serviced.  I was frustrated when they said that given that I bought my phone in Canada, they are not able to support me and should instead try to contact the Apple store in Canada.
I went to apple.ca website and went to the expresslane support and I was said to register and callback.  Tried calling the 1800 number but given that I was in Thailand I had difficulty getting a connection.

  • Very weak signal

    Hello
I have just moved, and in last home the airport express sent a strong signal to my iBook and my G5.
Now that I have moved (and I added the connection to my speakers) the signal is very weak (but working) on my G5 but full signal on the iBook.
I checked Airport Admin and increased robustness also I don't think it's other items that may cause interference.
The Express is now on the same shelf as my TV, DVD, stereo, but I don't think that should matter should it?
    Please help

It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference in the immediate area that is preventing you from getting a good clean signal.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like KisMAC, MacStumbler, iStumbler, or IPNetMonitorX to determine potential areas of interference...and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them.

  • Airport Express has very weak signal even to the next room

I am wondering why my airport express has a weak signal. The signal to the next room(about 4 or 5 meters away), is so weak that you can only see one or 2 lines from the graphic at the internet connect. My base station has the last firmware from apple. Has anybody else experiencing this problem or knows what could be wrong?
    Mac mini G4 1.25, iMac G5 2.0, MacBook 2.0, iPod 20Gb, iPod nano 4Gb, iPod 30Gb   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I have tried changing channels, I have tried using interference robustness but nothing seems to work. Isn't it so wierd thought that in the same room within 1 meter distance, the signal becomes from strong to weak, to zero?? The funny part also is that when i change channel for a few seconds the signal is very strong until it drops to zero. When i try another wireless device doesn't seem to have this problem but only with airport express base.

  • Weak signal reception from my new Airport Express card.

I had an Airport Express card installed in my spanking new G5 dual-core at the Apple store. I have a feeling it was installed incorrectly.
My Dell laptop (next to my Mac) picks up my Airport Express transmission just fine and shows the signal as very strong. My mac, however, shows a weak signal that will often fade away to nothing every hour or so. I've found that if I shake the tower, the signal will come back. I've moved the tower about the room, but with the same results.
I opened up the tower and the card appears to be installed correctly. I see the two antennae wires hooked up and and the card is in place.
Has anyone else had this type of problem?

ratsurfer, Welcome to the discussion area!I had an Airport Express card installed...You mean AirPort Extreme card. The AirPort Express is a router.
Do you have the external antenna connected to the back of the Power Mac G5? Read PowerMac G5 wireless problem? Check this... and check the included links.

  • Very Weak Wifi Reception on IPad 2 after screen repair.

I had to replace the LED screen on my Ipad 2 and after the repair, the wifi signal was very week.  I then replaced the wifi antenna and the signal is still extremely week.  It is not a problem with the wifi signal, all my other devices have good signal.  The Ipad will connect with full reception if you are 2 feet from the router.  Moving away to 4' the signal drops from three bars to two bars, at about 8' it drops to one bar and the at about 14' I loose signal.  Any suggestions as to the problem?

The Wi-Fi in Hotels are terrible from my past experience, I would recommend surfing the web in the lobby since most of the time that is where they keep the router. Hope this helps!

  • Very weak signal on A1354

I have the A1034 (the one that looks like a spaceship). I updated to the newest airport extreme A1354 because it's supposed to be faster. My problem is the new airport does not have the range as the old one. My old airport signal reach the other rooms with a good signal. The new one will not reach the other rooms. It has a 25 foot radius.Very short range. Do I have a bad airport or did they lower the quality? Or am I setting it up wrong.

I set the 5 GHz network up with a password and then I set the 2.4 GHz as a guest network on the new airport with no password.
Just to make sure I understand, did you enable the Guest Network feature of your new AEBSn? If so, even though you can give it a different Network Name or use a different wireless encryption type, the Guest Network actually operates on both radio bands, not just the 2.4 GHz one.
If you did enable the Guest Network feature, I would recommend that you disable it, and instead, use the AirPort Utility to configure the 5 GHz radio to use a different Network Name from that used by the 2.4 GHz radio. The reason I would like for you to try this is to see if your Mac can access either network from the desired location. Again, I suspect that you will have better luck with the 2.4 GHz radio.
We can then try using different radio channels on either radio to find one that provides the best connectivity. By default, your AEBSn will have both radios using "Automatic" for the channel choices.

  • 610N with very weak signal

    Hi all,
I've just bought the 610N. On cable it works fine. Wireless however is a different thing.
Where my oll' ASUS G router had excellent signal through the house, this baby has problems overcomming 20 feet/8 meters through 2 doors.
What can I do to boost the signal?
The WUSB600 in the living room (WD LIVE media player) can't connect easely.
    Hope you all can help.
    Many thanks!

Open the router setup page and click on the wireless tab,For 2.4 GHz...Set the Radio Band to Wide-40MHz and change the Wide channel to 9 and Standard Channel to 11-2.462GHz...For 5GHz..Set the Radio Band to Wide-40MHz and change the Wide channel to159 and Standard Channel to 161-5.805GHz...Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box for both the band.
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings...Change the Beacon Interval to 50,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • No mobile signal or very weak signal in Clio, MI

I have had my IPhone 5s now for some time and in the area I live i generally have full LTE coverage. But last couple days the phone has barley been on LTE and today I'm lucky to get 1x and 1 dot of signal strength on the IPhone. My girlfriend that lives with me too has the same phone and has the same issues.

epnorthey lets get you connected! You are located in our extended 4G coverage so the signal will fluctuate, however you shouldn't be without service. Are you having difficulty indoors and outdoors?

  • IPhone 3GS has weak signal reception

If I'm across my house I no longer see my home wireless network. My wife's 3GS does not have this problem and neither of our iPads has this problem. Our settings are identical and I've "forgotten" the network and reset network settings, followed by rebooting my iPhone. I have Googled for solutions but nothing I have found addresses my problem. I can only see our network if I'm within about 15' of my router. When my wife shows a strong signal mine shows a medium signal, when she has a medium signal mine is low, and at the point where my phone flips to 3G her phone is still showing a medium (or more) signal.
My OS is up-to-date (according to my settings): 6.1.3.
Needless to say this is quite aggravating. Is my phone just starting to die?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
It sounds like you have already tried a few of these steps, but you may want to take a look at some of the troubleshooting found in the article below.

  • Airport Express & Airport Extreme (both "n") very weak signal

I know there are a few postings on here but can't find the answer.
I have just bought an airport extreme and an airport express, crucially both are "n".
Both devices have been successfully installed and I have green lights on both.
I have the setting to extend the range.
I am trying to reach a family room with an iPad and despite being 1 foot away from the airport express with it's green light on I have no signal, it improves as I get closer to the extreme but it's as if the airport express is not doing anything at all. The express joined the existing network of the extreme.
How can this be? Nearly £250 spent on wireless gear today and none the better,
    Thanks.

I have a similar issue. My airport express used to work fine but a few days ago the signal stopped being functional. The green light is on the airport express but the signal is now not strong enough for me to be able to use my equipment. It is set up to be extended my existing network.

  • Very weak signal for ~ one week

I am in 02748 zip code. About a week ago almost all my calls started dropping. I have an iPhone5S. My neighbor is having the same trouble. He has an Android device. This is a new problem. We have had fairly consistent service before this, in fact I discontinued my land line because it was good. Now I can barely get a call out or in. How can I report this? Or find out if there's an outage that is being resolved?
    Thanks

I'm sorry to hear about the problems encountered with your device, Earthling. I want to help you get this resolved. To expedite this situation, I would suggest contacting our Tech Support Team at 800-922-0204 and having a resolution ticket opened.

  • My Airport Express has a weak signal 50-75 feet from base.  Any solutions?

My AirPort Express has a very weak signal 50-75 feet away from the base.  Any suggestions?

    ideas
buy one (or two) of those newer md031 airport extreme base stations as they have a higher power output.
ur post is implying 'join a wireless network' so i dont think limiting to 2.4ghz or 802.11b or 802.11g would help..
using 2.4 or 802.11b would help over distances, if ur creating a network and joining it then thats not an option
the airport has a couple settings like power output (make sure its set to 100%) or multicast rate that might be worth trying out. multicast set to low helps with clients joining at longer distances and multicast set to high kicks off clients at distances
put the aiprort express up high on the wall so it has a better chance of not being obstructed ?? and not on the bottom of the baseboard??
