N9 my last phone from nokia!

I am very disappointed by nokia not releasing the much awaited n9 to major countries.  I have been waiting for it since 2010 when it was rumured.  I have no problem using wp7 but i am still a die hard fan of maemo and would like the opportunity to get meego without going to great lengths to get the phone.  Sure in couple years I would have moved on to another nokia phone with wp7, but nokia strategy to forcefully sell wp7 to their major markets is very wrong.  Especially people like me who have supported nokia over the last 10 years, forgiving it for coming out with overly hyped half baked symbian in n97.  I am sure the first devices of wp7 will be no where near the n9.
Ofcourse i will buy the n9 from another country, but will be my last nokia.  Not because i hate wp7 but, because i feel nokia has left their true fans behind.  We really feel betrayed.

No matter how efficient & powerfull the OS, as well as the the processor if there's not much practical apps that can be run on it will be just plain cell phone use for calling, messaging, playing video & music. Never will ever be a smartphone even if it's a touch phone for web browsing !
Today smartphone is use as an extension of laptops & desktops !
By the way I'm already using my name one & a half year before Google release their OS for phone ! I should have patented this name !
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • Last.fm scobbling from Nokia Phones or Nokia Music...

Is there any chance of getting support for last.fm scrobbling from either Nokia phones themselves, or from Nokia Music (or Nokia Music Manager) PC Applications? I've just upgraded from a Nokia N95 8GB to an N97, and have found that the 3rd party Mobbler application doesn't support scrobbling from this device.

  • My daughter has just changed her phone from an iphone to a nokia but when i send her a message it still comes up as an i message and she doesnt receive it?

my daughter has changed her phone from an iphone to a nokia but kept the same number but when i send her a message from my iphone it still comes up as an i messsage and she doesnt receive it can anybody tell me how to fix this please

She needs to remove that device from the iMessage database, or if she still has the phone, she can go into Settings, Messages and turn off iMessage. If she still has the phone, she just needs to put the SIM back in for a couple of minutes to turn that off.
If she does not have the phone any more, she will need to go to her Support Profile, if she registered the phone and delete the phone from the profile.

  • How do I back up phone numbers from Nokia 6350 bef...

I got so tired of my buggy Nokia 6350 that I went to my service provider's website (AT&T) and bought an iPhone 3GS. When it arrived I read the instructions, found some confusing directions there and am in the process of asking for clarifications in the AT&T discussion forum.
The reason I'm posting here is that my brother, who works at a cell phone call center, advised me to back up all my phone numbers from the Nokia before attempting this flip phone to smart phone transition. I have a USB cord that connects the Nokia to my PC, but Windows XP tries to "install the new hardware" and looks for a CD. I never got a CD with the Nokia. And I can't use the Ovi suite because -- just my luck -- the 6350 is one of the minority of phones not compatible with the Ovi suite.
How do I back up all phone numbers before I attempt to copy them to the iPhone 3GS?  I'm very frustrated..
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Download the pc suite instead of ovi suite. U'll find it under the support page of ur phone on Nokia's site
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

    Help!
I downloaded a movie last night from iTunes and it downloaded to my laptop and my phone but for some reason it now won't play on my laptop. The album artwork on my laptop has gone and it exists perfectly on my phone. What do I do?
I paid for it so I'd really like to avoid paying again just to see this movie. Is it because it's on my iPhone? Whenever I try to click on the movie to make it play it just does nothing like it's not there. The file for the movie exists within my iTunes library files but I can't seem to click and drag it into iTunes or open it with iTunes. Need help.

  • I accidentally backed up from my last phone and lost all my current information. can i get back my contacts or photos?

I got a new iphone a few months ago, and i just got around to putting music on it. I accidentally chose to back up from my last phone instead of continue as a new iphone and i lost all my information, and got all the stuff from my old phone. Is there anyway i can get the notes, photos, and contacts back? I didnt lose any apps, or ringtones, or anything like that.

I think what you're saying is you're hoping to retrieve information from your current iPhone before it got overridden with information from your last iPhone.
If you synch using iTunes, you can try this:  In iTunes, go to Preferences then choose Devices (from the top near the right).  You'll see dates and times of backups stored on your computer.  If the one you want is there, you can restore your iPhone from that.

  • My dad and i have the same icloud id,when i updated the software (to ios 8.1.3) i have my dad´s photos on my iphone. And want my photos back (i tried restoring my phone from the last backup) but still have my dad´s photos on my device.

My dad and i,have the same icloud id,when i updated the software (to ios 8.1.3) i have my dad´s photos on my iphone. And want my photos back (i tried by restoring my phone from my last backup)but still have my dad´s photos in my device

And that's exactly the problem, because everyone should have their own account for iCloud. You can share an Apple ID for iTunes & App Store purchases, but you shouldn't do that for iCloud (Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc. ... ...and Photos). The problem of using the same account together could mean that only your dad's photos were stored.

  • Track nokia gps enabled phone from pc

hey, im starting this post to get info for me and for others because i believe that this is such an important feature in our nokia phones that we must maximise.
my question is, are there any programs where users can track there gps enabled phones from their pc?? Im sure all you nokia lovers would love to feel safe knowing that if your expensive smartphones go missing or stolen, you can track it down very easily.
i have heard of a shareware app called "phone guardian" for phones where the phone can be tracked via gps, however this can be removed via a hard reset. there must be a FREE way to access gps info of our phones at anytime from our pc without our phones needing to connect to any networks whatsoever and just the free gps satellite.
if ANYONE on this forum who knws anything about this topic, plz comment below because im sure every nokia user would want to knw the answer to this question.
    thanks

Mate no one got offended in any reply. i said his tone seemed negative because i was up for possibilities, not impossibilities. haha dont know how this line could ever started something like this
Anyways, since we are all grown ups here, when you want to act as a peer mediator, try to exclude statements such as "I don't think there was anything offensive in Psychomania's 1st reply" because statements like these dont solve anything, they just show that you're being biased and taking sides... and so if i were you, the only post i would remove from this thread is your own
plz anyone feel free to comment on this post, and i hope the comments arn't gonna be about sissy talk but actual answers to my question because isnt that the reason why there is a discussion board for nokia users?

  • HT201401 I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue I had with your product. My brother  bought one iPhone 4, 16 gb mobile phone from US last year and gifted me in India. but it couldnt be serviced in India why ?

    Hi,
I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue I had with your product. My brother  bought one iPhone 4, 16 gb mobile phone from US last year and gifted me in India. In few months it had a problem with its home key. I took the phone to service service center and they told me that your phone is having hardware problem and as the phone is under warranty cannot be replace in India. You can come back when this is out of warranty. Now few days back when i walk again to the service center they stated that this phone we cannot repair here in India because of this phone purchased from US.
This a total disgraceful service from such a big brand like apple.
I hope to hear back from you about this incident.
    Sincerely,
    Niranjan
    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

No iPhone has a international warranty. Warranty is valid only in
country of original purchase. Since iPhone was bought in the US,
you must return the iPhone to the US. That means you must personally bring
the iPhone to Apple in the US or send it to a friend/relative in the US for them
to take to Apple. After replacement, your friend can ship it back to you. Shipping
and insurance costs are your responsibility.
Apple does not accept international shipments for evaluation/repair
and will not ship replacements out of the country.

I have had IPhones since their inception.  Last phone was the 5.  A few months ago, I upgraded to the 6 Plus.
    Here is my issue.
On my 5, my car radio (which has USB port) allowed me to plug in and listen to radio or music from my phone and the bonus was it charged the phone as well. All worked great.
Now with the 6 Plus, neither of things work.  The message on the radio (Kenwood) says I Pod error.  The message on my phone say's "this device is supported".
I have called on this before and was told you are aware and that the issue will be addressed in a future update.  There have been several updates on IOS 8 and the issue remains.

I have a Kenwood KDC-X695. When I purchased this stereo and had it installed, I had an ATT iPhone 4.
It worked with the stereo, but had a few issues. I had purchased a few audio books that I would listen to while driving. When I plugged it in it would immediately begin to play the book from the beginning or if I had been listening to music, it would start playing the song that was at the top of the song list.
The stereo came equipped with Firmware version 3.05. I upgraded to the iPhone 5 a year later. I had that phone for approximately 2 years. The song or book issue remained the same.
I just recently upgraded to the iPhone 6 and the Bluetooth function still works, however the USB port on the stereo that the phone plugs into to allow files on the phone to play through the stereo no longer works.
I contacted the service provider (Verizon) and after speaking to several different technical support technicians, they provided me the phone numbers for Kenwood and Apple because they were unable to help me.
I spoke with Kenwood technical support the following day and after a few fumbling miscues from the technical advisor, it was suggested that I upgrade the firmware, even though the Kenwood literature warns against this if the Bluetooth portion is working, because if there is a problem with the upgrade, it can render the Bluetooth useless and non-functional. The advisor did suggest the latest firmware on the second or third attempt, after I pointed out what I was able to glean from my initial search.
Later that day, I went back to the Kenwood site (from their homepage) and by using their selection tools, discovered that this particular model was only ever intended to be used with the iPhone 4S (the technical advisor was not aware of this, even though I mentioned this during my phone call earlier in the day). According to the Firmware selection tool, my iPhone 5 should not have worked with it.
I performed the Firmware upgrade, and it took 13 minutes. This was less than the 15 minutes that was forecast in the Kenwood literature. The Bluetooth still works but the USB cable connection still causes the unsupported device message that I received prior to the upgrade. I am incredibly annoyed and disappointed.
By upgrading to the iPhone 6, I have three choices; (1) only use the Bluetooth for phone calls without the ability to play other files from my iPhone 6 (2) forced obsolescence of my stereo, requires buying a new stereo (3) return my iPhone 6 and go back to my iPhone 5.
I do not believe that I should have to be a software/Firmware/hardware engineer, vetting every single device that I own; prior to upgrading a cell phone.
I am incredibly annoyed with Apple at the moment.
I have a separate Bluetooth headset that worked with both my iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 that the iPhone 6 simply does not recognize. That is another story for another time.
Currently, I am incredibly underwhelmed with Apple.

If I wiped my phone I wouldn't have the contacts on my phone to send to my self.    I would need to take just the contacts from my back up. I would have to do this through iTunes and I don't see how I can just extract the contacts only from my back up. From what I can figure out it is all or nothing
