N9 Stuck in a Reboot loop

Hey ppl
My N9 is stuck in a reboot loop
Havent done any kinda mod to the phone just installed some apps.
When the phone starts and boots up to home screen, the screen goes blank then re appears then again goes blank n re appears n then the phone restarts. In that short period when the home screen is available if i go in to settings then the phone becomes stable and works fine. But if if it goes in to sleep mode then again it restarts.
I have no clue whats wrong here. I guess i need to reflash the phone now.
If any one has done that can u plz guid me stpt by step how it can be done.
Also if you know any alternate fix.

@iceman331
Firstly, have you tried using Nokia Suite Beta from Nokia Beta Labs to try re-installing existing device software as device put into test mode to re-install so hopefully would not go to sleep?http://betalabs.nokia.com/trials/nokia-suite-beta
Whislt it may not be appreciated if I spell out chapter and verse how to carry out this procedure upon the forum I have recovered my own N9 from "Boot loop", although in my case homescreen was never available!

  • I was told by itunes my phone needed an update to 6.1.2.  I did it, and now my phone is stuck in a reboot loop, and no wifi, phone, or bluetooth.

I connected my 3gs to my computer, and got a popup from itunes saying there was an update for my phone.  Well i like to keep everything up to date, so I did the update.  After it completed, I no longer have phone, Wifi, and bluetooth.  It also is stuck in a reboot loop.  I really do not know what I can do.  I tried to restore it as a new phone, since i had all my data backed up.
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

okay i may have called it wrong, we got the unlock from AT&T when our contract was up.  We did this because we were thinking of switching to another carrier.
I checked the hosts file, and there is nothing refering to gs.apple.com.  Should there be?
Is it possible to restore it back to 6.1?
No problem; it's just that many people buy what they think are "factory unlocked" phones, but the "factory" is the back room of the shop where they bought it.
gs.apple.com should not be in the hosts file (the only reason it might be there is if some hacking tool had been used on the computer in the past; not just jailbreaking tools, but tools to downgrade the OS and perform other unsupported functions).
You cannot restore back to 6.1; you need to resolve the problem with the latest version. Even if you could revert it would not solve the problem. You need to figure out why iTunes can't communicate with the activation servers. If you have another computer, try restoring on that, or take the phone to an Apple store and let a "genius" deal with it. Or, if your antivirus is Kaspersky, delete it completely, as it's impossible to turn it off completely, and it has taken a dislike to things Apple.

  • My iphone 4 is stuck in a reboot loop and won't stop. Any ideas?

It froze during a message. I went to restart it and it didn't finish restarting, tried again and got a white screen. Now it's stuck in a reboot loop and I can't get it to stop.

First, plug your iPhone into your cpmputer. Then, press and hold the Home+Power buttons for around 10 seconds, then release the power button but continue holding the Home button, until you see a pop up in iTunes. Then, restore your iPhone.

  • Need help plz my iphone is stuck in a reboot loop

my iphone is stuck in a reboot loop i cant get it to stop itunes dose not detect
my iphone so i can restore it i don't know what to do plz help

I am experiencing the same problem, and i have attempted NO jailbreak or other iphone hacked software. My screen will slowly fade to white, and then go into an endless reboot cycle, or just glow bright white til the battery dies. I have tried restoring with itunes via recovery, and i receive error (2003).
    (EDIT)
I successfully restored my iphone, and it worked GREAT! until i removed it from the cradle, and my screen jumped straight to apple logo, descending into the bottomless pit of reboot cycles.

  • PRS-T1 stuck in infinite reboot loop after failed firmware update

    Hi,
I tried to update the firmware, but failed when updating to version 1.0.07.05070. Tried to 2 times. The first time it failed I simply tried again. The second time, it took a lot longer to reach the failed to update message, but it did cause the ereader to reboot.
Now, it's stuck in an infinite reboot loop on the "Opening book" page. The progress bar on that page stays completely empty, lasts for about 30 seconds, and reboots again. This will go one until the battery is dead or indefinitely if plugged in.
I have tried pressing the Home + Menu buttons, but they seem to have no effect.
Please advise if there is anything I can try to revive it?
    Thanks in advanced.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Kiroken,
Here is what I have observed:
    - After a hard boot (reset + power button during 3+ seconds), if I don't do anything, it will reboot every ~30seconds.
    - If I press and hold the Home and Menu buttons, no effect. The same as if I didn't press anything.
    - If I press the Forward + Back buttons (2 & 4), it does not reboot after 30 seconds. Instead, the orange light on the power button blink every ~2-3 seconds.
    - Any other key combinations that I have tried have no effect.
I have tried with and without several rescue sdcard. No difference. No improvement. In every case, the computer never sees the reader. If plugged into the power outlet, it seems like the battery charges alright. It does not appear to charge if plugged into USB port.
That's all I know. If I can't fix it, I might be forced to turn it into a coaster or maybe a cutting board for the kitchen.

  • HT4993 my iphone is stuck in a reboot loop how do i get out

my iphone is stuck in a eboot loop how do i get it out

Follow these steps and your iPhone should work fine.
         1. Hold the power and home button simotaniously (at the same time) for 10 seconds.
         2. Wait 5 seconds then reboot.
If the issue presists, do this.
1.Connect to iTunes via USB cable.
2.Hold power and home button for 10 seconds or until screen turns black, let go of the power button, but continue holding the home button for 5 seconds or until the emergency diagnostics screen (iTunes icon with USB cable) pops up.
         3. If done correctly you will see the screen above. Now, wait for iTunes to diagnose the phone, and if nessesary, restore your iPhone.
    I hope this helped you!

  • Satellite L500-1DT: HDD Recovery of Win 7 is stuck in endless reboot loop

This is a detailed bug report so please bear with me.
If you can help, or can confirm you've had the same happen to you, I'll be grateful.
I've owned several Toshiba laptops before and I even used to work for Toshiba so rest assured I like the machine. But I've got a problem with its recovery software. I just bought a laptop, Satellite L500-1DT with Windows 7 64 bit, on behalf of a non-techie who lives elsewhere. Since I know from experience that I will occasionally have to field panic calls along the lines of "it's become too slow", "how do I get rid of the accumulated junk", "maybe it's got a virus" and so on, the first thing I checked was the automatic recovery, i.e. how to bring the HD back to "as new" state.
So I booted into the machine, answered the questions until I got into the OS proper, and then ran the "make a recovery DVD" program. Double layer DVD verified ok. With the freshly made DVD, I swapped the supplied HD for a spare I had (much smaller: only 40 GB instead of 320) and booted the rescue DVD hoping that it would remake me a clean system on the blank drive.
It did repartition the drive according to its scheme, with more or less half the space for Windows and the other half for Data including the recovery files. It did install the system in the Windows partition. It then rebooted into the installed Windows 7 to finalize the installation. There, trouble began: an endless loop of reboots for hours until I stopped it.
    Loop:
    * reboot
    * black screen with bright 4-colour windows logo "starting windows"
    * black screen with light blade and "setup is preparing your computer for first use"
    * blue "welcome" white screen with "please wait" and horizontal bar with green blob, saying "Finishing the installation may take several minutes. Please dont interrupt or shutdown the computer!"
    * blue screen saying it's shutting down
    Repeat the above forever.
I have seen it reboot way over 10 times over the course of several hours. And every time it pretends it's the first time it does that. Surely that's not normal!
I tried stopping it with ctrl-alt-del and task manager but the white screen would go on top of even the task manager, making it hard to kill any processes or even inspect what they were. I stopped it by holding down the power button until it switched off. Then when it rebooted it said if I wanted safe mode. I tried that. It went into the routine above and at some point it said it couldn't proceed with the installation if it was in safe mode. So it rebooted into regular mode and then... finished! It finally broke out of the endless loop!
Then it asked me all the usual questions about language, registration etc, as it had done the first time I had turned it on. This seemed good. I finally got back into a newly installed OS and all seemed fine, except I later discovered that some programs that were there before were not installed.
With bravery bordering stupidity (*) I even re-did the procedure on the supplied hard disk instead of my spare one: first I nuked the windows partition, then I did rescue from the HD (with F8), not with the DVD I had made. Result: similar rigmarole, with endless reboots.
After I stopped it, it sort-of-worked, as above, but now some other programs were missing, notably the Toshiba DVD player.
(*) motivated by: better try this now, with the computer here and all my tools and other computers ready at hand, than when the computer is away at its owner's home and that's the only thing left to try with me at the other end of a phone line. Been there before.
Now, that specific one (DVD player) I could download from the support page and it installed fine; but what else might be missing or not working that I didn't notice? Clearly the restore process isn't working as it should.
Am I the first or only one to whom this happens? Am I doing anything wrong? Is there anything else I should try?
I need to make sure this restore procedure works flawlessly while I still have the computer in my hands. If it doesn't, there's no chance I'm going to be able to do a remote reinstall for my non-techie once I am asked to clean up the laptop over the phone a few months from now.
    Thanks in advance
[Update: while looking for the right place where I could post this I found that other people are reporting the same problem. It's definitely a bug in the distributed recovery software for W7-64, not an isolated problem of my machine. See for example
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49421&tstart=0 where user kwarc is describing the same symptoms with a Satellite L505.

I am glad to report some unexpected SUCCESS!
I left the computer at what it was doing when I wrote the previous
post. I came back to it an hour later or so (I had stopped counting
the reboots, though occasionally I'd hear that typical chime from the
other room, saying it was doing one more cycle) and I noticed
something slightly different: the white screen with "finishing the
installation may take several minutes" had a blue blob, not a green
blob, in the progress bar, and the blob was rectangular rather than
rounded. Very odd! Something different had happened, like a change of
theme. And a little while after that, the process really finished and
I got to the white screen that asks about what language etc etc, like
when I first turned on the new computer.
    Great!
All I can conclude from this experience:
Even a reinstall that works will DEFINITELY involve many reboots that
seem to be getting nowhere. Apparently, progress is being made, even
though it looks like the process is stuck in a loop of reboots.
It would just be nice if it said something like "Before I finish
restoring, I'm going to have to reboot 26 times, please hang on; now
doing cycle 8 of 26". (Numbers are made up.) It doesn't, but just
    knowing about it is helpful.
Perhaps worth redoing the install once more and making a note of how
long it really takes from beginning to end when it does work.
I still don't know if the process I described in the first post was
really stuck because of some other error or whether it would have
ended eventually. If I wanted to be really sure I could re-restore
everything on that hard disk once more.
I have no idea whether wiping all partitions from the disk before
reinstalling did any good or not: it shouldn't have made a difference
since, as I said, I noticed that the first thing the restore program
did was redo all the partitions itself. On the other hand we have
experimental proof that the restore can work on a HD without any
    partitions.
Thanks again PauPau---the most useful thing you said, for me, was the
data point that for you it had worked. That's what made me try again
and leave the computer on indefinitely through the innumerable
    reboots, just in case.
I'll repost a definitive answer on how long a successful restore
process should take once I get round to redoing it on the supplied 320
    GB HD.

  • IPad stuck in a reboot loop with flat battery

Our iPad is stuck with a flat battery. When it's plugged into the wall charger, it reboots in about ten seconds, and we get a brief flash of the "slide to unlock" screen that dies so promptly that we don't even get a chance to touch the slider. After ten seconds or so, it tries again.
It gives the impression of exhausting what little battery charge it accumulates.
I've tried putting it into DFU mode with iTunes. It connected, but the battery didn't last long enough for that to help.
Is there a way to stop it from rebooting, e.g. by turning it off without it first having to start up?
Or some other way to give it enough charge so we can turn it off the usual way?
Any knowledge of how it manages to get into this state? We've never experienced this before — until yesterday, it was our one and only crash-free computer!

    An update:
I started suspecting that my MacBook Pro doesn't provide enough power through its USB ports, so took the iPad to work today to try connecting it with an iMac for an update.
It worked. The iPad's running again now, and slowly charging back up.
Same OS, same iTunes, same account. So I it looks like not all USB ports are made equal.

  • Iphone 4s stuck in a reboot loop.

Sometimes it manages to load up to the screen where I can unlock it, but then it just tries to reboot again and the apple logo appears. How do I fix this?
I have tried to hold the home button and screen lock button together, and wait till screen turns black and for the apple logo to re-appear, and then hold the plus button, but that didnt do the trick. How can I fix this annoying problem?...

Sorry, but without a backup you will lose your data, there is no other way to fix a possible software issue than setting it up as new device and restore from the latest backup again:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in infinite reboot loop

    Hi
Today my iPhone 3GS ran out of power, and i charged it via the wall plug. After it was turned on, it started reboot every couple of minutes, and has done this for hours now. I tried shutting it down and starting it again but that didn't help. It hasn't been jailbroken or anything like that. It runs iOS 5.0.1.
Any suggestions for what i can do to fix this problem?

  • 80GB Ipod Classic stuck in a reboot loop; restoring only delays the problem

    Hey there,
During the last week or two I have had to restore my iPod 3 times now, due to a condition where the ipod will boot up (showing the apple logo), reach the main menu screen, then after 5 or so seconds, it will reboot, repeating the process.
I restored the ipod by putting it into disk mode, then restoring it with itunes, but after a few days the problem occurs again.
The only causes I can think of would be upgrading to itunes 9, or ending the iTunesHelper process to allow me to use the device as a portable flash drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it is beginning to become quite the annoyance.

well first of all, this situation *****,,,
i just had it yesterday after writing the ipod with new firmware,,.,.

    4th hold for some seconds!!!
5th wait until the screen saying,, (Ok to Disconnect) comes out and then connect it to your computer!!!
    and restore everything,.,.,.,.
    it ***** but hey
    now,,,, tips
never disconnect the cable right away after a restart has occurred for update(very important)
    hope this helps
if there is something else going on besides what i just explained in first step. im sorry but i don't know... i haven't had the problem yet,,so not getting into that , that much.
thanks and i hope this helps

  • Windows Vista Stuck in Infinite Reboot Loop

After going on some websites which I've used and know are reputable, my computer completely froze, so I manually powered it down using the power button. After starting it up again and signing in, the computer randomly restarted with no BSOD or and prior
warning. It gives the default, "Shutting Down" sign, and starts back up. Trying to disable the function of automatically restarting when a fatal error occurs by the advanced settings from the HDD, and also the use of the f8 for advanced boot options,
the computer still restarts without giving the BSOD or any sort of information why.
I've tried running safe mode, but the computer will still restart and not boot in safe mode. Even when the computer is left idle on the user selection screen, it will restart.
I'm looking for the cause of the problem and a fix to it would also be very helpful and appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mikael Suorsa

  • Macbook air is stuck in a reboot loop after running Software Update.  It looks like a firmware update is failing.

I have a first generation Macbook Air running Lion, and just ran software update to get the latest version of iTunes.  It appears I may have gotten a firmware update mixed in the bunch, and now it keeps trying to run the update at boot, failing, and shutting down.
I can start the restore partition, and the system appears to function, but I cannot figure out how to abort this failing update so I can use my system, and determine which update is breaking it and why. I've tried resetting the firmware, but that didn't change anything.
There's nothing, not even a the CD drive plugged into the Air, so it's not a peripheral problem.
I could restore from backups, but that seems like a very brute force way to get rid of a firmware update loader.
Does anyone know how to disable these little beasts?

Restart the Air while holding down the shift key, this is safe mode. Once in to the login screen, login then hold the shift key again. It will disable login items, which can be the cause of startup problems. Remove all your login items from your user accout and try a restart (Note the login items if you need to re-add essential ones later). If it all works well, then keep an eye on third party startup items, they will cause you grief!
