N900 GPS NAVIGATOR FOR VENEZUELA EXIST?

hi again... im from venezuela.. and i try to download the navigator app for N900 but i cant, using the webpage in the phone said to me that the maps are not aviable... and in the nokia ovi suite i cant sync the phone cuz the ovi suite dont have registered the N900... what can i do??? i can see all the maps for all cities in venezuela using my pc but not in the phone.. any idea ? and excuse my english i have very very time without practice xD

I have not yet purchased Route66, but it does appear to be the only solution for the Mac at the moment with the features that we are looking for. I believe that the company has not produced an update since 2004 and the product is no longer listed on thier web site. So I would not look for any sort of updates or fixes anytime soon. The appear to only support mobile devices:
http://www.66.com
I have also been looking at MMacGPSPro by James Associates which seems to only support TOPOS, or topographical maps. Not road maps and not detailed street maps of cities. It also does not appear to produce any sort of directions or routing information. In fact, it does not come with any sort of maps at all. It merely communicates with the GPS device and allows the user to load almost any map that the user can find.

For GPS receivers, I have been looking at and reading reviews for the USGlobalSat BT-338 v3.1.1 WAAS Enabled Bluetooth GPS:

hey tom,i think you could download the free map from NOKIA, and then the the GPS will works good, or the other way, you could download the Route66 Nav software for N95, it's good and i think it will be the best choice!

You can use Nokia Maps (download the version for the N73 http://europe.nokia.com/A4509291 and Nokia Map Loader from the same page) Just remember to start Nokia Maps on the phone after install before you use Map Loader. It needs to create some folder.
This will give you access to maps but to get GPS you will need to purchase a GPS receiver such as Nokia LD3W (connects via Bluetooth).
If you want voice navigation you have to pay for that but you can also try it for free for 3 days. You can access this from the options menu in Nokia Maps.

  • GPS System for MAC's

I do a great deal of driving and am in the market for a GPS navigation system. I have a center console mount for my mac and would like to find the appropriate software to run a GPS system on the computer. I can find the software with the external usb hook up for windows. Does anyone know of a package that works with mac's or if the systems available for windows will work if I buy "parallels".

    Knownothing -
I just wanted to say that although you (I'm sure) are looking for a "cost effective" way to get GPS into your car by integrating it with your computer, it is not the way to go.
If you're doing a great deal of driving I would suggest a real GPS unit, and a real good one.
PC or Mac based GPSs are slow, often inaccurate due to only finding a few satellites and usually don't give you turn by turn directions.
I would suggest a Garmin unit in the StreetPilot Series or the Nuvi series. They are phenomenal units and cheapest at a very reliable seller: shipdog.com
I have purchased 3 GPS units through them. With GPS you get what you pay for, and if you're only going to shell out say $100-$150 for a GPS device and software, you're going to get what you pay for.
    Good luck with your choice
I just wanted to add that I'm not just saying this because I love garmin devices; I'm saying this because I have tried all that junk before:
    GPS-->Laptop
    GPS-->Pocket PC
And the only thing that really works well is a REAL GPS unit.

  • GPS navigator on nokia e71 which one is working?

Hello, I'd like to install a gps navigator on the nokia e71, do you have any suggestions apart from the Nokia maps? I read that Sygic is working on Nokia, do you know a bit more about it? What about licenses, try periods etc? do I have to pay a licence or to download maps with these kind of programs?
    Thanks very much.
    Pippobaudo

I've been using Route 66 for over a year now on my E71 and find it the most stable and usable of all. Tried nokia maps, google maps, Tom Tom, Papago, Mapking etc...
You can download it from here:
    http://www.66.com/static_media/updates/mobile8_s60/M8_S60_Update_8.0.18990.exe
The application itself it free but you need to purchase the maps. The maps don't expire, but the traffic info, traffic cameras and weather are subscription based and optional.
Install the application on your memory card, you can either connect your E71 via USB or it's faster to put your micro SD card in a reader and install it from there.
Maps can be purchased directly via the application on the phone or you can download the Route 66 Sync (PC only) and do it from there.
You have the option to use R66 without data usage (HDSPA/GPRS) using the E71 internal GPS, I also successfully tried with an external CIRF III GPS module but doesn't make much difference.
You can however get faster fixes if you also enable "network based" and "assisted GPS" in the E71 phone settings (tools/settings/general/positioning/positioning methods)
Mind you that this will use a minimal amount of data usage for every fix e.g. when starting up R66.
But it has the advantage to continue the map scrolling when in tunnels by extraolating it's position using cell sites.
    Good luck.

  • Palm GPS Navigator With Garmin Mobile XT Software

I recently purchased the above navigator for my husband for Christmas.  How frustrating that the maps don't display!!!  No where on the description of the item that I purchased did it say I'd have to unlock maps, etc.  Where and how do I go about unlocking these maps?  I'm ready to return this item and tell Palm exactly how I feel.
Post relates to: Treo 755p (Sprint)

The only 3rd party apps you can install on your iPhone is what is available via the iTunes app store. There are a number of 3rd party GPS navigation apps available for the iPhone with maps used by the application stored locally on the iPhone with the application.

  • What is a good gps app for ipad2 ?

What is a good gps app for ipad2?

Good for what?  That would depend on what you want to use it for.  Also, it would depend on whether you have a 3G unit.  Without 3G to stream maps, the GPS would be mostly worthless for on-the-move navigation.
Even with 3G, it would be real easy to blow right past the 256MB plan and even the 2GB plan while out and about.

  • GPS system for Nokia 9300

I am looking for a full GPS system for my Nokia 9300, which will give me voice navigation down to specific postcodes within the UK and downloadable up-to-date maps/navigation database. I had my eye on Route 66 Mobile but it's specification states it's only available for the S60 series; even the latest Route 66 Mobile version 7.
I'm now really confused as to what I should look for. I need a complete system i.e. GPS receiver and software, because at the moment I only have the phone. As a very last resort, I do have an old Nokia 6630 I could use as a dedicated navigation system, but really I want to use my Nokia 9300 for everything. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.Message Edited by garyg on 29-Jun-2006

  • Nokia N95 GPS Navigation

    Dear All,
I am James and recently bought a Nokia N95. It comes with GPS Navigation but not sure how it works. Looked in the user manual but still not idea of how to work it. I have played around with it and downloaded Google Maps but find it difficult to get a reception.
I want to know how to download maps onto it, what connection is needed and how it actually works?
    Any ideas?
    regards
    James

    Hi,
I'm just back from the US were i used the GPS a good bit. like most GPS's, Navigation on the N95 told me to turn right then left on on straight roads with intersections (watch out for this, always look at the map before turning as you'll see that the route line is straight on screen), sent me down bizarre side roads, never went the same route to a place as it did going back (very strange), but other that that was very handy.
The one major bug I'd like to report is in v20 of the firmware (can't say for others versions), despite disabling network communication in the settings, the phone would still startup my GPRS data pack connection while roaming. Even when I set it to use Wi-Fi, it still made a connection over GPRS. I work out it cost me about a €10 in unnecessary data charges. Easy test to see if you get the same problem: Startup Maps and say no to data usage, exit or Press Menu, Tools, Log. You should see that a Data pack connection was initiated at the same time you started the Maps App. The only way around this I found was to set the phone to offline mode. But you might as well buy a proper GPS if this is the only solution.
    Good luck!
I had exactly the same problem. Once activated, network mode could not be turned off and it cost me around $50 in a day and a half.
As soon as I tried to shut it down in Maps>Options, it either shut down maps or rebooted my phone.
Keep network support off, is my recommendation.
To cure the problem, I had to reload my firmware and software...everything but settings. If you reload settings, you reload the problem.
I spend hours today doing just that. Settings are probably the least important part of my phone history so it wasn't too big of a deal and the effort was totally worth it to save me mega cash while using maps.

  • Why aren't there any English GPS maps for Japan?

I mean, why? There are GPS maps for almost every developed country, but for Japan there are none that i know of (neither Navteq nor Teleatlas, which are the two major cartography companies out there).
I've seen several Japanese GPS solutions, but they unfortunately don't have an English option. I've never seen a major company like TomTom or Garmin (among many others), offering a solution for that market.
So, what company does the cartography out there (Navteq or Teleatlas like), and why doesn't TomTom or Garmin use their data in order to develop an English GPS solution? There has to be some kind of logical explanation.
    Kind Regards.

Can you provide an official link for Garmin XT for the N8 and for Japan Road Navi 2.1?
As no doubt you were aware when posting Garmin Mobile Xt is now no longer available:http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-11034-00
Since this is the only way of getting navigation for Japan, Pakistan and Cyprus which Nokia have choosen to avoid providing for with Nokia Maps, presumably you would rather OP was left in ignorance of technical feasibility of it's use upon Symbian devices.
Whereas under your profile it says "Please do not contact me asking for assistance in a personal message (that includes bringing posts to my attention), you will not receive help from me in that way" I have always been happy to provide further guidance should user so request under such situations.
