N900 hangs up when Display is turned upside down, ...

How can I deactivate this feature. I have lost several calls because i had my N900 in the pocket, either sitting in the car with the N900 horizontal and the display upside down, or while getting it out of the pocket turning it by mistake with display down and hanging up instead of getting the call. This is no good feature for me.
When it lies somewhere upside down, it even does not ring, therefore Vibration is no sloution.
Maybe a Linux expert knows a X-terminal command?

I would have to disagree with you. I like the shake and shuffle feature. I would assume people also use ipods for travelling/commuting. Bus rides, trains, flights and so on.
But, to each their own opinions I guess.

This is kind of annoying. I have a 4th generation iPod shuffle that I bought a few months ago. I primarily keep it in my car but occasionally put it in my pocket to go to the gym. I have the "gyroscope" function turned off. If I brake suddenly and the iPod falls from the seat to the floor, it'll make a noise I can best describe as a "doodle" and it will automatically shuffle songs. It will stop whatever song is being played and act as if I selected "shuffle".
Is there a way to turn this feature off? This is annoying. It happens quite often, though not every time.
Another example, I have my iPod in my pocket and I'm mowing the lawn, and the vibrations from walking will make it do this too.

On another note, the iPhone tells me that it's ''busy'' when opening a photo on the computer.
(I tried restarting my PC, connecting via another USB port, importing using PhotoStream, etc...)

Are you using the front or rear camera? When you say they are low quality, are you referring to file/pixel size, or how the picture looks? As far as upside down, how are you holding the phone? Older versions of Windows have issues reading the Metadata from the pictures and will not display the same.

The screen on my ipod went bad, the screen turned upside down and the writings went mirrored. I have tried to reset AND restore it to no avail. The music plays fine, it's just the screen had become annoying. Any help please?

I am not entirely sure what the problem is from your description. Your saying that the display is acting like it is rotated sideways when it is not and the writing appears to be backwards?

The better method (I feel) is to rotate the camera when shooting.
Certainly that is better. However, I don't have a way to do that, so I imagine that most people don't either. I can turn my tripod's head on its side, but upside down? Not so easy.
Having said that, there are camera cages designed to do that.
It is true that my way doesn't fill the frame so one way to handle that is to do it on a copy of the video on a higher track, and blur the heck out of the original to keep the frame filled. Some amount of blur is often associated with dream sequences.

When my iPad mini is in the upright position, the screen turns upside down and I have not touched the rotation switch, it just does this on its own and I cannot get it to go back into the right position. This went wrong here:
I went back and found the photos in the back up machine (25000) and dumped them on the iPhoto icon.
Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the link to the original photo.
I would suggest that you restore that library from Time Machine again, and then try repair it.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Open Organizer and edit its Preferences to turn off all the Media Analysis options. For good measure, disable Watch Folders, also.

Using Macbook without lid/display (and mounted upside down)

I have a MBP with a damaged LCD that I want to connect to a kitchen HDTV and mount upside down. Since the display is useless, don't need a camera, and I want easy access to the power button, I want to remove the lid and mount the MBP upside down to the underside of a above-counter kitchen cabinet (not enclosed). Is there any problem with removing the lid and mounting/operating upside down? Makes for a sweet kitchen internet station, and will be very cool to have the MBP and cables mounted out of sight (wireless keyboard/mouse of course!).

BSteely, thanks for the response. Unfortunately I started dissasembly before I checked back on the forum. I removed the damaged LCD and got crazy and removed the lid frame. I continuously checked the MBP operation after each step to make sure it was still working (using external display). The only thing I did not check along the way was internet access (wireless router). I ended up cutting the connection to what I believe is the antenna/receiver? Because when I mounted the MBP under the cabinet and turned it on, everything worked fine except no internet access. I am in the process of trying to reconnect the wires on what I think is the antenna (was mounted in the bottom of the lid/hinge area. Do you think this is my problem? Other than that everything working OK so far.

What could cause my phone to turn my pictures upside down after it is taken? As I am taking the photo it is the correct way but when it transfers into my camera it rotates to be upside down.

That seems to be a bit too fast if it continues to drain that quickly. That would be 20° drain each hour only giving you 5 hours of battery life. Give it some time before you make any real assessment, the battery indicator can act sort of funky at times. My indicator will stay on 100° for 15 minutes and then start to drain rather quickly until it evens out and gets to where it should be. From that point on, it will reduce at a normal rate.
You can try resetting the iPad. Sometimes that cures hunky little software issues. Sometimes, restarting the iPad can return the gauge to a normal reading.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Acrobat 9 displays "fi" as upside down "?"

I have several pdf documents where "fi" appears as an upside down "?" It prints the same way. If I open the same files in PDFLite (a free opensource program) everything displays and prints correctly. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

PDF lite may be using the fonts embedded in the file, your local Acrobat preference could be to use local fonts (or vice-versa) in Preferences.
Or, the font may not be embedded in the file, fi is a ligature substitute glyph for, hold on to your hats here, fi, and the upside down ? is a glyph used in Spanish (pardon my ignorance; Espanol?, Latin Americn?)

Have you tried transferringing the videos via usb (sinc you're having trouble transferring them with PhotoSync) as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 and just transferring the photos with PhotoSync?

I would like to find a solution for your messaging concerns. May I ask what type of phone do you have? Are the pictures being sent taken with the phone, sent from other people or downloads? If you are sending pictures you have taken with the phone is there any difference if the picture is taken landscape or portrait? I look forward to hearing back from you.
