N900 keeps dropping Signal

Recently my N900 keeps on dropping my phone network provider settings. I have to go back into phone settlings and choose search and then select my provider and then save. However I leave it down or put it in my pocket at times and the network has gone. There is nothing wrong with the sim as I tried it in another phone and the network did not drop once. Getting quite annoying anyone have this issue ?

nokia n900 signal problem. Is losing signal and never get back. Until I shutdown and I remove battery and sim card. only in this case i get signal back. my n900 1 year old and 4 months. I have problems with it for 4 months.
I have warranty 8 months but I think I'll get it back repaired.

  • My Iphone 5 keeps dropping signal (no service) in good service areas?

Help my iphone 5 keeps dropping signal saying no service then after a while it gets service again, sometimes this can take up to an hour. Also if i toggle airplane mode it sometimes comes back or if i switch the phone on and off it comes back. This is happening in areas of good signal. Back in January my phone did get wet but i dryed it off and its been faultless ever since apart from this recent problem of no signal. I have an Genius appointment booked for this Thursday to see what they will do about it, will they just blame it on the water eventhough i have seen this problem time and time again on the Internet and the best way seems to replace the faulty phone.?

Try restarting your iPhone. Press and hold the power and home button for 10 seconds and then turn your device back on. Otherwise, the place where you currently are may not have very good signal for ATT.

  • My Airport keeps dropping signals!!

I am losing my mind!!! We have an airport extreme base station connected to our Vonage router from the DSL modem. It was all working just fine and then one day it just started to drop the signal throughout the day. It does in and out but still shows that I have full signal in the airport bars in my top menu. I tried the internet without the airport and just plugged directly in from the DSL and it worked perfectly. I also tried it with the airport out from the DSL and leaving the vonage router out of the equation and it dropped signals . this tells me that it is the airport.
In the house we also have two other airport extremes. they both extend the range of our network and one of them is used to connect to the stereo for itunes.
My system all worked fine before the system update and now it doesn't. I am at a total loss and am exhausted from trying to deal with this anymore. is there a soloution floating around in here that i am simply too frazzled to see?

I don't know if this is the solution or not, but I noticed after the 10.4.5 update, I could only see access points on channel 6.
My own access point was on channel 1 and I couldn't see it or connect to it, even with the SSID being fully broadcast. I changed the access point (Linksys WAP54G) to channel 6 and I'm connected for over 2 days with a rock solid connection.
I still do not see any access points in my neighborhood, including my second access point which is on channel 14 (Linksys WRT54G).
Let me know if this works for you.
    Regards,
    Sparkus

  • 3G keeps dropping signal

My uncle has a 3g iPad and he keeps the 3G on all of the time. He is constantly losing his 3G connection and has to reset his network settings. Any ideas? Is this related to the wifi issue that was reported with the wifi iPads?

Not having any issues with 3G connectivity with my iPad (not having Wi-Fi issues either for that matter) everything working fine (other than the 3G data allowance issue I have posted about).
3G reception is a tricky business, it's a weaker signal (waveform wise) than GSM/GPRS etc so the iPad may be switching to the stronger signal (if the 3G signal is weaker or has more interference on the 3G wavelength, in a given location).
If in doubt make an appointment with an Apple Genius and get them to check your Uncle's iPad over

  • WRT160n keeps dropping signal

Hi, I purchased a WRT160n about a month ago and I've had nothing but headaches with the wireless. Can anyone tell me why I get limited/no connectivity at least once a day (usually more), yet when I use wireless anywhere else (not at home) it runs smoothly?

i should give a little more info i guess: I'm no networking rookie, I've been doing this a while now. I sit probably 2 feet from my router. There is an xbox and 2 desktops (wired) connected to the router. My laptop is the only wireless device connected (password-protected wireless network). When it works, it is very fast. The laptop has a wireless n card. The wired connection works while the wireless doesn't when the wireless goes down.

        AngelMunoz2011,
I am sorry to hear about your troubles with service on your phone. We definitely want to make sure that you are always receiving the best service options. What zip in general are you having the most trouble in? How many bars of signal are you typically getting?  Could you try clearing the cache on your device http://vz.to/KRifEf and also try removing/reinserting your 4g sim card. We are here to help, so please keep us updated.

  • My i-mac keeps dropping wi-fi signal

My i-mac keeps dropping wi-fi signal.

The next thing I'd try is changing the DNS settings from what your ISP uses. If you are not familiar with DNS then please look over CNET's DNS Article and MacWorld's DNS Troubleshooting. Then use the following to reset:
    1. System preferences
    2. Network
    3. Click Advanced
    4. Click DNS tab
    5. Click + sign
    6. Add 208.67.222.222
    7. Click + sign
    8. Add 208.67.220.220
    9. Click OK.
    10. Exit System Preferences

  • MacBook keeps dropping Airport signal

My new MacBook keep loosing ist connection with the AirPort Express.....i'm not sure if its the Express or the MacBook....there is only a few feet of distance between the two and all updates have been added to the MacBook. After 3 bad Pro's and one bad MacBook I really want to keep this unit and any help you guys could give me would be great.....i'm a new mac user. Cheers.

I had the same issue with my new MacBook and thought it was the notebook.
Here's my story: I went back to the Apple Store where I bought my macbook and told them that there is something wrong with my AirPort card inside the macbook that is "defective" because it kept dropping signals. I would get a connection for a few minutes or seconds and then lose the signal the next! The manager had NO CLUE why that was happening and asked that I show proof by reproducing it inside their Apple Store! I told the manager I would like a new one and she was nice enough to exchange it for me at no cost.
After doing my own research, I discovered that the problem was not with my MacBook, but rather it was with my Linksys wireless DSL router. Luckily, all I had to do was update the firmware on the Linksys DSL router and....I have not lost signal since!
My suggestion is to update the firmware of your router (e.g. Linksys, Belkin, D-Link, etc. All I had to do was go to Linksys' website and download the updates and run it through my router system) and see if that fixes the problem. Good luck!

  • RE: WiFi signal keeps dropping

Since the start of this week the wireless signal from my HH3 keeps dropping and coming back. At first I thought it would have to do with the wireless channels but it wasn't that. I restarted my hub numerous times as well but this hasn’t resolved anything. I’m now thinking that the problem may be with the hub itself. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be?
    Thank You

When you say you reset it was that a facory reset using the recessed button on back and jolding until lights flash?

  • BT Broadband signal keeps dropping

    Hello BT community,
I have BT Broadband and the signal keeps dropping.  For your information:
I am using a Draytek 2850N with firmware version:  3.6.2_2471201
I am not sure whether the line is ADSL or ADSL2+
The exchange is Chobham and has exchange code:  THCH
I am 1.2 miles from the exchange
The symptoms of the problem are simply that we loose the signal and cannot browse the web.  I have bought a brand new ADSL Filter and the router itself is brand new (replacing the BT Home Hub 1.x).
The strangest thing is that when the connection drops I can get it back by dialing out on our telephone which used the same line as the broadband and after a few seconds of listening to the time (I dialled 123) the router re-synch's if you leave the router to do this on it's own the connection does not reform; which I think is quite weird.
If you telnet onto the router and run log -wt I can see the following:

  • My ipad keeps dropping my home network wifi signal, what is the problem?

My ipad, iphone and apple tv all keep dropping the wifi signal from our wireless router, i have tried two different router and had our isp here to try to fix the problem with no success, what can be done?

I have an IPad 1 that is dropping the connection multiple times a day.  There are multiple other devices in the house; 4 iPhones, pc and dell laptops, an IPad 2, etc. and they never drop.  Could it be that these devices are not intended to last past two years?  I am going to go to a factory reset.

  • IPad 3 keeps dropping wifi signal

Despite having a very strong wifi signal around the house, which my iPad 2 has a strong connection to, my new iPad keeps dropping the wifi signal every minute or two, making using the Internet nearly impossible. To regain connection I just have to go on the wifi settings page (not even turning the wifi on and off) which then gives me the signal again. Ive tried resetting network settings, but nothing works. Please help; this is a real problem and means I can't use my iPad properly.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

For your issue - Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column.
Change your router channel.  Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router.  Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
    System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
    Unlock the padlock
    Locations:  Automatic
    Highlight Airport
    Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock.  Highlight Airport.  Network Name-select your name.  Click on the Advanced button.  Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."  Click the OK button and lock the padlock.  Restart your computer.

  • Internet connection keeps dropping at night

I'm having a bit of a weird problem with my internet connection. I connect via an ethernet cable and the connection keeps dropping. It generally starts after 7pm and seems to be every 40 minutes. I have changed the microfilters and ethernet cable but I'm still getting this problem. The really weird thing is that all four lights on the hub are blue but the computer cannot connect to the router. Sometimes the connection will just drop other times it will say limited connection. I've finally had to resort to windows diagnostics and sometimes even that doesn't work. I swapped my black hub with the old white one and  I didn't have this problem of the connection dropping but my connection speed dropped to 1.5 - 2mb.
I was thinking maybe there was something wrong with my ethernet card but now I think it must be something in the black hub because the white one worked. Am I correct in thinking I need a new router?

  • 3G connection keeps dropping out after 4.2.1 update

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone could help me.
I have the iPhone 4, and it was working perfectly... until I upgraded to iOS 4.2.1.
Ever since then, my 3G connection keeps dropping out, and I'm just left with vodafone UK (with usually 3-4 bar signal) but no 'o', 'E' or '3G' symbol.
After about 20 minutes of no cellular data, I'd get the 'o' symbol, then 10 seconds later it would change to '3G'. But then after 5 seconds it would lose it. The cycle would continue in this way.
Strangely, when at home, the 3G would stay connected. But when I go anywhere, I lose 3G.
When I turn 3G off, I get constant 'o' connection where ever I go. It doesn't drop out.
I've tried resetting the phone, and resetting network settings.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.

I'm having a similar issue with my new iPhone 4 (w/ 4.2.1)... It continually cycles through the following sequence:
    AT&T / 3G
    AT&T / No Data
    Searching…
    Searching… 3G
    AT&T / 3G
    (loops…)
Here is a video of the cycling. Note the iPhone 4 is just sitting on a coffee table in my house.
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7186070/ip4fw421searching.mov
Also worth noting, I just got the iPhone 4 and I updated it to 4.2.1 right away. Previously, I had a 3GS which did not exhibit any of this behavior in the same location in my house. Also, my girlfriend still has a 3GS and has FW 4.2.1 without these issues. I have a video of her phone in the exact same location taken just after the clip above and her phone maintains 3-bars / AT&T / 3G the entire time.
I picked up the iPhone 4 while out of state over the holiday weekend and did not observe any of these connectivity issues, in fact the 3G throughput of the iPhone 4 was significantly better (consistently got >4 Mbps down / >800 Kbps up) than what my family members were seeing with their 3GS models.
I believe it is a baseband issue introduced with the 4.2.1 update for iPhone 4, but I also strongly believe there is some tower component to this problem (ie, software revision at the tower or configuration).
Like others here, I also performed a restore to 4.2.1 through iTunes and setup my phone as "New" and I continue to see the behavior. The phone is unusable in my house unless I manually disable 3G. As a final data point, when I'm able to maintain a 3G connection long enough in my house I get the following throughput from Speedtest.net: 1863 Kbps down / 543 Kbps up.
