N900 msgs not showing

hi frnds plz help me. i have new N900. but there is a problem in it thatin conversation menu, as i open any msg. its show just blank .
(means opns but nothing to show any content of msg)
plz help m in trouble

I'm pretty pleased with my new acquisition, however am flummoxed by the above - I text regularly, and it seems that all the messages from about a month ago, from when I first got the phone, no longer appear on the conversations list - they get curtailed. The only way to resurrect old conversations is to send a message to the "disappeared" user again, which then leads to the whole conversation reappearing at the top of the list.
Does the SMS app have a flaw where it can only display a certain number of conversations in the list? Clearly the data is still there, for if I send a message to a very old conversation that is no longer displaying on the list, the whole discussion reappears as if by magic -- it's just that the phone refuses to show if there has been no activity on that thread for a while.
How can one adjust the settings so that all conversations remain visible on the list + the phone doesn't curtail old ones from view?

My N900 is not showing Network signal

I have been using my N900 since last 13 months everything was working fine. Suddenly it stopped showing network signal. I took it to nokia care they looked at it and I dont know what updates they did. They changed some ICs and charged me heavily but still they couldn't fix it. They assume its due to some issue in motherboard. Now my warranty has lapsed they are asking very huge amount to fix the issue. People always advised me not to buy costly nokia phones as their quality is very inferior. Nokia has really made a fool of me by selling such a substandard hardware. now this can be a stupid icons problem, enable devels and install powatool and check for "connui cellular" in the statusbar options, check it and uncheck it and retry ........
and try this : install theme customizer, and the symbian-anna icon pack (or any icon pack that changes the signal bars icons) change the icons and reboot .
and finally can you type this command in x-terminal : dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=com.nokia.phone.net /com/nokia/phone/net Phone.Net.get_signal_strength | awk 'NR==3 {print "-"$2" dBm"}'
and than click enter , take a screenshot (ctrl+shift+p) and post it here .

Splash Screen Msg not showing immediately??

A splash screen with a msg is displayed after the edited
cell values of a JTable are being sent to the database
for updation,till the database responds with a msg of
success or failure.
This is to let the general user know that an updation is
in progress.
MY PROBLEM IS
Only the splash window with a blue background is displayed
with no msg in it.Only after the database displayes the
msg does the splash screen msg appear.

You need to read this section from the Swing tutorial on "Threads and Swing":

Basically, the Database access it being done using the same thread as the GUI would use to paint the splash screen, so the screen can't be repainted until the database access is finished.
Solution, the database access need to run in a separate thread.

N900 - Emails not shown correctly

Mails received via a POP3 account configured on my N900 do not show up correctly as paragraphs containing Danish characters (æ, ø and å) are displayed as Japanese. Any suggestions for a fix?

Is it all e-mails from all people? Certain people? Certain e-mail domains? If you look at the same mail message on a pc or via a web browser are the characters bad?
It may be rendering the e-mail correctly. It might be that a mail relay server that the mail is going through does not support that mime type.
Check the mail header for the MIME type

do you see any more details on message monitoring in RWB ?
maybe it's a sync message and the logging is not turned on ?

1. Installed maps on Nokia N900 not showing - 2. k...

Although I have installed local maps dae through nokia maploader to Nokia N900, when I start the Map app on the phone the data is missind. Instead it downloades it from internet.
I must clarify that if I reset the phone by reupdating the software the map data is working but as soon I reinstall the various apps I have , the local map date is not showing.
Any idea which app might get in the way?
Second question, regardless of my settings, the map app connect to internet. Every few minutes it asks me to connnect although I have disabled the automatic connections.

As predominantly a Mac user I have published links to a variety of map series upon the forum, but now there is very little demand except perhaps from users in India with 5230 without WiFi and high data downloading costs. As Mac support fairly sparse moderators have kindly allowed discussion of manual installation of map data, which should not be an issue for Windows users with Nokia Suite.
Unfortunately the latest map data only appears to be available for Windows Phone 8 devices and that for Symbian ones will probably fall further behind in future.

Calendar Widget Not Showing Upcoming Events

I've upgraded to the latest N900 firmware (pr1.2) and ever since I have had a problem with the calendar widget. All the events are contained in the calendar when I open it however they are not displayed on the desktop widget.
I've got events loaded for the month of June but for some reason these are not showing. Instead I have events showing for July, September and even December. I've tried removing all the entries and the re-adding them but this hasn't solved the problem. I also created another calendar and placed the entries in the new one, again this didn't work.
Does anybody have any idea how I can resolve this problem.

I have exactly the same problem with the Calendar Widget not showing all upcoming events. It will show events way in the future but skip events inbetween. I've tried all day with PC Suite 7.1 and Outlook 2007 and some freshly entered events come across for unknown reasons whilst others do not. No amount of changing local entries to synchronized ones, deleting all calendar info from the phone and re-syncing by USB cable or Bluetooth solves the problem.
It worked fine before and, as you say, corresponds with the recent n900 software update.
I SINCERELY HOPE NOKIA READ THESE BULLETIN BOARDS.
Also, why isn't there a fully compatible PC Suite or Ovi Suite for the n900? I have a PC running Windows 7 and Nokia have told me in the past that they do not have a fully functional, compatible PC/Ovi Suite for Windows 7 and the n900.
IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT

Server app task list not showing up!

All of a sudden when I try connecting to my Macpro server locally using the Server app. I connect (no error msg's) but the dialog box with the setup boxes, views, task ..etc is not showing up. When I look at the view on menu bar all the features are greyed out. The only thing showing up is "hide accounts'. Working fine couple of days ago, no changes were made Any idea?

I deleted and installed a fresh Server app, so now I was able to connect and view my profiles, Noticed in the "Alerts" window that my localhost IP has changed from the original one I used to setup the server. I normally use DHCP with manual i/p. The other night I played around with network addressing and changed to DHCP. That's when my problem started. All is good now and again thanks for quick response!

Messages typed on phone not showing in online messages?

When I type a text on my phone and go online to review discussion, some of the msgs are not showing up. Also, when I type a text from online there not showing on phone, aren't these suppose to sync?

i am using a macbook and using the address book program with the OS
i ended up buying PhoneView and just getting the missing contacts off the phone then resyncing the phone and replacing all the contacts
they are all in my phone twice under the search for some reason but i am not really caring at this point cause i have them all back where they belong
i could use some help in trying to get rid of the doubles in spotlight
and some insight into what the **** happened

The mdf and ldf files for PLTESTDB were created successfully. The issue I'm having is that tables are not showing when under PLTESTDB. I've searched online and most answers point to Permission issue. I already added user with the ff. database roles
db_owner
db_reader
db_writer
But even after refreshing or even closing relaunching SSMS, i could not see any table under PLTESTDB. I've spent a lot of time already on this but can't find the fix. I might be missing something here. I tried it on another computer but same issue
persists.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to get this resolved are highly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

LSMW - Read Data not showing in Converted Data

Hi,
I am using LSMW to load data from a flat file (via recording). I have it working except I have one issue. When I display the data in read data all fields are showing. No errors popup when I select convert data. When I select display converted data the last few fields are missing. Any ideas why or how to fix this?
Any help is appreciated as I do not know how to proceed.

Currently I am also facing the same problem. In "display read data" it is showing all the field values. No error msg in "convert data". But only 2 fields are displaying in "display converted data". not showing any values in rest of the fields. Kindly suggest me how you fixed this problem
