N900 October 25th update breaks music player?

I installed that latest update, Maemo 5 20.2010.36-2.002.
Now the play button doesn't work on the music applet and half my songs do not appear in the music player.
Does anyone else see this or know a solution?
Doesn't Nokia test these updates!?

Its a bit silly of you guys posting those comments to a users forum . Why on earth dont you contact Nokia with your wants   . Your fellow phone users cannot fix them and if Nokia are in ignorance of them they would never get fixed in short tell NOKIA .
This is not Nokia this is a users to user forum   NOKIA is the Contact Us button on top of the page .

5800 Xpressmusic software update made music player...

Hello,
I recently used the Ovi suite program to upgrade the software of my 5800 Xpressmusic. After the update was completed, which was to make lyrics available in the music player, I was no longer able to open the music player. I am unable to open any of the music files on my phone. I restored the phone to the status before the upgrade and still nothing works.
Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

goto application manager on ur phone and see in installed apps if there's a music player and a metadatautility cenrep ini file.. If yes, uninstall them and see if it helps.. Repost if u dnt find these installed.

Issues upgrading/updating Neutron Music player

Just seen a notification that there is an upgrade to the player which brings it from version 1.74.2 to version 1.74.4 however when I try I get "An error has occured. Please try again later". Thing is I had two free apps that upgraded without any issues. I don't wanna delete the player as I have it set up just the way I want it and all my playlists done.
I am on the latest OS update.

So, you're getting the upgrade notification, and the upgrade won't complete.
I think that even if you delete the app, your settings will remain if you reinstall the app.

Unlimited music stops after updating music player

i have updated my music player to version 11.4. after that i am unable to download unlimited music from ovi music on my nokia X6 plz help.

Is it giving you any prompts??

N97 Music Player Lyrics Update

Hi, I recently got an update for Music Player on my Nokia 5800 XM. This update includes Auto Lyrics feature which is something I was looking for. I have another cellphone Nokia N97. I want to ask, why N97 don't have this update? And if Nokia is planning for it when it'll be released?

They will be sorted to Artist/Album/Genre if the files have been tagged properly and if the phone will recognize the tag IDs. I would recommend to use mp3tag over other software for tagging music intended for Nokia phones.
For the refresh problem:
1. Connect your phone to you PC in Mass Storage Mode
2. On your PC you will need to have allowed to “Show” hidden files, do this from Explorer/Tools/ Folder Options/ View and select “Show hidden files and Folder”
3. Open your SD memory card/Removable Disk in My Computer on PC
4. Go to E:\ Private there you will see 3 folders 101f8857, 101ffca9 and 10281e17 .
5. Go to Private\101f8857\Cache\E there you will see .dat files. Delete all the .dat file BUT NOT the E Folder. Shown above right
6. Now go to Private\101ffca9 there you will see another .dat file, Delete the dat file NOT the folder.
7. Finally go to Private\10281e17 There you should see 4 files 2 are Mp3 files other are Podcast files. Delete mpxv2_2.db & mpxv2_2.db-journal for Mp3 files list and Delete pcv6_1.db & pcv6_1.db-journal for Podcast files list. Shown above right
8. Close all windows and disconnect your Phone. Go to Music Library and it should automatically start a refresh.

Nokia xm 5800 music player "not supported"

Hi everyone,
I just updated my music player yesterday and when I tried to open it on my phone, it wouldn't even open. When I tried to open it from the gallery, it shows "Gallery: feature not supported". I tried to click "options" but that wouldn't open either. However it still shows up on the Nokia Music Player on my PC. And I could still hear my songs by setting my alarm tone. I've tried taking out the battery & SIM card, but still no results. I would not prefer to re-transfer my music since I programmed a lot of information in them and it would take me hours to type them in again.

N73 ME - Music Player Not Recognising Music

Hi all,
A slightly strange issue has just started with my N73 ME (Orange, UK, V4.0735.3.0.2) I recently wiped all the music from my 2GB memory card and replaced it using the Nokia PC Suite.
I have the s/w set up to automatically change everything to .M4A when it copies across. It's always worked perfectly, no problem.
However, once everything was copied, when I tried to update the music player, it just sits 'Updating' and can't find any music at all.
The file manager can see it and the Gallery app on the phone can see it all too - you can play individual tracks via both these routes as well.
The music player however can't find anything on it's own.
Does anyone have any ideas about how I can get around this?

Are the music tracks in the right folder on the memory card? Music player will only pick up tracks under
Sounds> Digital sounds
If they are under Music or any other folder your gallery will see them but Music player will not.
If the songs are in the correct folder then try performing a reset of the phone as follows and then try again.
Try doing a hard reset by following the following steps
1: Back up important data such as contacts, messages etc
2: Turn off the phone
3: Hold down the star *, green phone and number (3) key
4: Turn the phone back on with these keys held in
5: Wait for the device to start up completely
Restore back-up and try phone again, if the problem is still noticeable take it to your nearest Nokia Repair Centre

Palm Pre Music player freezes on Protected format songs (previously it would skip them)

Ever since the last Palm update my Music player has been misbehaving. Before the update when playing my music the player would simply skip over any songs that were protected format (the kind it can't play from iTunes.) It would skip them and play the next song on my list. Now it just freezes and stops playing. I'd simply remove the songs but ever since the iTunes sync was broken I can't seem to remove the files from the phone that were previously synced by iTunes. I need to EITHER find a way to get those old songs off the phone, OR the music player needs to skip them and keep playing, though both would be preferable.

Yes it is quite fast within the stock Xbox Music player in Windows Phone 8. As Jimmy has said, just press and hold the next track button and it will fast forward the song. It is proportionate to the length of time you hold the button, so the longer you hold down the button, the faster the track will fast forward. Don't do it for a few seconds, you'll be at the next track by then!
Took me a while to find things myself. What's not stated in the user guide is that to bring up the list of tracks within an album (while playing a song), tap on the area just above the three dots (...) on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. To get back to the list of albums for the artist you are listening to, tap on the artist name while you are playing a track.
Don't know why they don't mark an option on the screen or tell you this stuff in the manual but its there mate.....

Music player either does not launch, crashes upon launch, or does not play music properly

Ever since the iOS5 update, my music player on my iPod touch is experiencing problems.
Upon launch, sometimes it will go to a grey screen for several seconds, and then quit before ever displaying my music library. Other times, however, it will launch properly, but then selecting certain songs or playlists causes it to become very slow, sometimes to the point of crashing. Other times I can actually play music, but after a time I wake the iPod and it is stuck on the "Now Playing" screen and cannot be changed without closing the app with the Home button.
My iPod touch is syncing properly and has been synced to the latest software release. I have tried all the usual solutions, including restarting the app, restarting the iPod, and I have also tried restoring my iPod once but this did not fix the problem.

You said you retored the iPod but did ot say what type of restore you performed. If you only performed a restore from backup, try a restore to factory defaults/new iPod. If you still have a problem after that then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Music player now plays all my playlists BACKWARDS. ???

As of the most recent update, the Music Player (from Samsung?) now plays all my playlists backwards. I checked the playlists files I find in the SD Card in the "Music" folder using Astro, and they list the tracks in the correct order, so I can't understand it. This was not an issue until a month ago now. Any chance this will get fixed any time soon?
Just FYI - I use USB syncing with doubleTwist, and all my tracks and playlists are pulled from MS Media Player 12. The playlist files I'm finding are named with extension "m3u"

Some players have a option to play the list in a different order have you checked to see if in the player has this option? Also have you tried clearing the cache for the player at Settings / Application / Manage Applications / All Tab / Player Name / Clear Data.

Nokia 5800xm music player problem

i m using nokia 5800 xm or 1&1/2 yr. my phone was working amzing but when i found a display problem in my phone i took it to nokia care centre ghatkopar mumbai. they changed my phone display as well as firmware from 31 to 50.from that day my phone is not working properly...it is not as bright as before by increasing brightness to full length.music player has option to find on net but not an internal memory find option, search option works to find internal memory but it is out of music player .
SO I REQUEST TO NOKIA ATLEAST LAUNCH AN UPDATE FOR MUSIC PLAYER WHICH HAS FIND OPTION LIKE MUSIC PLAYER 31.0.0.5 VERSION...I'VE UPDATED 51.0.0.6 BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE THAT OPTION...

1st take out battery for 10 min and try again
If it still happens after installing firmware do these (these may delete data so back up your phone)
1. Back up data and resintall firmware. Take out memory card and use disk check to clean out possible errors.
2. If it does not work, format memory card
2. If reinstall does not work, type in *#7370#
3. If it still does not work, turn off phone, remove memory card and battery for 10 min, then reinsert. While booting up hold the green, red and camera keys until you see the country selection or language screen.
