- Is the N91 8GB Speaker the same as N91 4GB?
- Does the N91 8GB have the same problem as N91 4GB where it ringtone volume is low all though wen setting volume to MAX?
- How is the N91 8GB Audio Visualisations with the Poor Screen Quality?

Any SW or games that are designed to work with S60 3rd. Edition should work with N91.
Just keep in mind that N91 is not QVGA so some themes or apps that ONLY work in QVGA mode may not work in the N91.

Unlocking N91 8Gb

I have tried unlocking my N91 8Gb via the phone company, they provided me with an unlock code, and the procedure to enter it into the phone, but when i enter it the phone gives a message as Not allowed.
could any one please advice what may be wrong??

A Nokia Service Centre can reset the lock software so that you can have a further three attempts, but I was not aware that re-installing software via NSU would have any effect on this value.

Nokia N91 8GB phone purchased at Australia. I want to use this in India. when I inserts SIM Card of Airtel, phone displaying that 'invalid SIM Cars'. How to unlocke it.
second one is: can I upgrade the Nokia Softwareupgrade downloaded from website. If I do so my phone will work in india or will there any problems.

No support for the N91 8GB Music Edition within iSync ?

Hi all.
After checking on the Apple website and seeing the N91 was supported by isync, I went out and purchased the newest version, the N91 8GB Music Edition. Basicly the N91, with an 8GB hard disk and a firmware update.
However when I tried to use iSync it said it's not support, arrrr !!
Can anyone help with this issue, I've had a look in the metafile and did a google for help, but there talking about the N91 working with older versions of iSync.
I'm sure all it needs is some kind of update to the iSync metafile, but what and where? It's paired ok, and can access the drive via Bluetooth so know that's ok, have also tried USB but it doesn't even see the phone.

Problem Sorted
Remove all bluetooth pairing of the N91 (if exitis) from the Mac and the phone and backup the file your going to edit below.
- Find the iSync application.
- Press CTRL and click with the mouse, and select Show Package
- Then go to: Contects/Plugins/Nokia-N91.phoneplugin/Contents/Resources
- Using TextEdit edit MetaClasses.plist
- Search for N91-1 and replace with N91-2
- Save the files
And that's it
Mr Apple one for the next iSync update ?

5700 vs N91 8GB

Well looks like N91 has had its day until now it has come to an end lol..
I think the 5700 will beat N91 when it comes to music now due to the following:

Well this device beats the N91 hands down oh n another thing lol the audio via the headsets will be same as N91 with 8 Equalizers n use the same audio chip as N91 but slighty a bit more advanced.
Also Nokia are working on new firmware upgrades for the Support of Large MiniSD Cards (4GB) for most N-Series & E-Series handset...thats why there aint any firmware upgrades recently.
N91 Owners goodbye lol..

I have an N91 8GB and I don't think my upgrade path is a 5700 no matter what the specs.
Even the recently announced N81 seems better than the 5700 for music. But the fact that it's an N8x series and not an N9x series should tell us something.
There's also the N95 8GB but sources say that the audio department is the same as the regular N95 so this is not the N91 successor.
I think very soon there will be some N9x series device that will have the audio of the N91, the camera of the N93/N95, the screen of the N95 8GB, et c.
This is the one I'm waiting for.
Until then I think that the N91 is good enough.
I've installed a few add-ons that work really well. Plus it looks really good in the black dashboard of my car. The only thing I'm not too happy with is the screen.

Music keys on my n91 8gb is not working

I bought a new nokia n91 8gb mobile one month back.
It was working perfect till last week.
But now it started showing problems.
Firstly its showing no hard disk detected or hard is on use errors. So i can not use the special music keys in n91. . And its freezing frequently. i can not switch off the phone tht time. I have to remove the battery to restart it. But each time it strt scanning the hard disk. The scanning stops at 26%. after tht it gets hanged. If i cancel the scan, then phone will work but the hard disk and music keys wont work.
I tried restoring it to factory settings. but its taking hours showing installing and restarting every time. I can not use the hard disk tools options becoz when ever i click there, the scanning automatically strts and not allowing me to go to format options.
I thought its a software problem. becoz i m using an older version V 3.00.060.Then i tried to update the software. Then i found its not getting connected to my PC.its not even recognising tht my mobile is connected. earlier i used to work both as mass storage device and using PC suite. now those options are not displaying on my moblie.So i m unable to connect to my pc and update the soft ware.
I need your help very urgently.

you have posted this in connectivity section:
first you have to address the issue of the harddisk stoping at 26%; which means that there is hardware problem on your harddisk. music player of that phone model checks harddisk first before it initializes.
do a hardware format on harddisk, it might correct the problem, but i assume you have a backup of the files!
if you're not able to connect or recognized your phone, try to uninstall pc suites; use the pc suites cleaner afterwards. re-install pc suites; don't connect the cable until it tells you to do so.

Normally, you just connect the monitor to the MacBook using a VGA adaptor that you can buy from an Apple Store. Now try System Preferences > Displays > Detect Displays. You should now be able to select a display mode for the monitor. If it still doesn't work, then I'd check that everything is properly connected. I've had problems with colours disappearing due to a faulty connection in the VGA adaptor.

Dear Nokia Moderator can u pass this topic to the N91 Firmware Update Team please?
The N91 4GB Edition has the following faults in the v2.10.013 Firmware:
- Ringtone Volume Low without any Headset Connected
- Ringtone Volume Low with Heavy Bass via Nokia N91 Headset Connected
- Ringtone output volume does not sound loud as Music Output Volume
- Music Library unexpected freeze
- Camera Image Quality Poor (When set to High Image Quality)
Please N91 4GB Users please post ur problems with v2.10.013 firmware so Nokia can Update the Firmware for it.
What needs to be added/fixed in the new Update for N91 4GB:
- Ringtone Volume Loud as Music Player
- Music Library Update
- Audio Visualisations
- Support for A2DP
- Camera Quality Update
- Loudness Option need to be Working
- HDD Options ie defragment/scandisk etc

PB Solved.
The symtom was that my 'windows' plan that I distrubute call
the StartMethod of a class defined higher in the hierarchy,
and I had to specify that plan as direct supplier plan of my
new project for the 'voided' not to happen.

the issue is as follows:
I distribute a plan A
I want to rename the plan,
and create a plan B that has A as supplier.
Distributing B wor'ks
Running it fails with that issue.
Actually I recreated supplierplans in B as they were defined in A,
and the problem disappeared.

It would help if you have a bit more description around thesituation when
this error happens.
Could it be you have two service objects that refer to each other
while the
partition is still starting up? (SO's are not supposed to talk to
each other
during partition startup).
Or was the partition up and running?
Has the service object been in existence and used before itbecame voided?
Is the partition compiled or interpreted?

Java-Error while starting User Help in BMC tool

Hi all,
i have got a problem with the installed User Help in a tool from BMC Software: Java does not allow User Help to start unless I change security level to "middle" (instead of "high") in Java Control Panel.
Of course I could just add the Site to the list of excepted sites and allow the application to run with that, but then every user would have to do so before he can use the Help, which in my eyes would be somewhat less than perfect.
So is there a possibility to allow the application to start without reducing security settings or adding the site to exception list?
The tool is installed on a Windows server, which runs a Tomcat.

System errors on N91 8GB

The warranty on my N91 8GB has recently expired and since it has my phone has started acting wierd, it gives me system errors when frequently, sometimes it drops the network and will not detect any if i do a manual search, the music players acting funny its skips songs ramdomly even though i have set the playlist as repeat all and the shuffle function is off...
all these errors seem to be fixed temperorly if i switch off the phone and start it again to be switched off again when i come back from my break at work (
how do i fix these errors??
Also had another question would using Bose Tripod headsets on my N91 drain out the battery faster??

About the problems, unfortunately it's hard to know what can be causing the problems.
What I've done in the past if this has happened is RESET the device with *#7370# and then start installing stuff again. IF it still acts up then I also format the HDD. It's a pain having to load it again but if you send it for service they will reflash it and re-format it anyway.
About the BOSE headphones question, I don't think the BOSE headphones will drain the battery any faster than other headphones. Do you know what the impedance is on these headphones?

I want to know real things abt Nokia N91 8GB A2DP with 3rd party software..

I have a Nokia N73 and a Parrot MKi9000. I wanted to use the Internet Radio application to listen to streaming radio via bluetooth AD2P connection. Nokia N73 firmware updated last, supports this standard, but only for applications installed directly with the operating system: (Standard Media Player and RealPlayer).
If you start only "Internet Radio" sound does not pass through the bluetooth connection, but I noticed that also enable the media player to hear the sum of the two sounds.
The solution I found is that of creating an MP3 file of about 30 minutes with a background of ambient music very low (not too much else if there is total absence of sound, such as interruptions in the buffer, the system soon after it disconnects). I set the standard player so that will loop through the MP3 in the background.
Then I turned on the application "Internet Radio" and select the station to play. Once started streaming the music you hear on the car speakers.
I think this trick may be useful not only to listen to the radio via the internet, but also for other applications that do not activate by default bluetooth AD2P streaming and other Nokia devices, or other Bluetooth hands-free systems.
