N91 music player freeze up

hi, i just got my n91 a few days back...there's a problem bugging me..my music player keep freeze up after playing a few songs. On the main display it shows the song is still playing but the time won't work and i can't access my music menu or main menu..i will need to switch off my phone..is this a hardware problem or my firmware problem? thanks in advance...

I don't think the Hard Drive is causing the problem.
Can you resume playback if it stops? or is the phone hung (does it still work?)
Do you have songs that have special characters or something in the metadata?, i.e. do they have chinese or other language characters?

6288 music Player freezes and locks phone

My Nokia 6288 when I start the music player freezes. I goes into the music player says "starting music player" then freezes in that screen. I can press cancel to un freez it but that makes all the phones applications fail and then the phone will then turn off and not turn back on. The only way to reset it is to remove the battery. everything will then work until you try to start the music player again..

Had a simular problem, it got stable after a few trips to the Nokia service centre....

help! my music files are nowhere to be found in my n91 music player. although i can see my music files in the media gallery. how do i fix this problem?!
i have tried reformatting my phone but to no avail. =(

Question 1: Did you reformat your HDD (full format) and then copy the music back as part of the sw update? If not you may need to do that.
Question 2: Assuming you did format etc then were there any interruptions in USB data transfer to the device. USB can cause issues (like with memory sticks) if it is interrupted. (not just by cables being pulled out but by PCs that have drivers that do not handle low CPU allocation). This could have screwed up certain files on transfer.
Question 3: What but rate are your songs ripped at. In the FAQ somewhere I believe it mentins that ripping MP3s above 256 Kbps rate can cause be an issue.
Note the reason I believe why the N91 and many MP3 players pause (when a PC doesnt) is if an MP3 file has many errors I believe the PC keeps buffering until the error is corrected (ie they ahve enough data to reconstruct the song - you may hear a skip but no pause). Small devices can only let that go so far before they have to stop.
So that is why corrupted songs may play on the PC but not on smaller devices.

Sorry ,it is not possible,
I think it wont have it until nokia makes a serious effort on N91.
rEASON:tHE n91 is made by a special music chipset and the music player of this set is not available.
but you can go to www.lonelycatgames.com and try LCG Jukebox and believe me it has 10 band equaliser and has more functionalities.
And AFAIK if you install it and plug a 3.5 mm standard headphone it would be really awsome.

Palm Pre Music player freezes on Protected format songs (previously it would skip them)

Ever since the last Palm update my Music player has been misbehaving. Before the update when playing my music the player would simply skip over any songs that were protected format (the kind it can't play from iTunes.) It would skip them and play the next song on my list. Now it just freezes and stops playing. I'd simply remove the songs but ever since the iTunes sync was broken I can't seem to remove the files from the phone that were previously synced by iTunes. I need to EITHER find a way to get those old songs off the phone, OR the music player needs to skip them and keep playing, though both would be preferable.

Yes it is quite fast within the stock Xbox Music player in Windows Phone 8. As Jimmy has said, just press and hold the next track button and it will fast forward the song. It is proportionate to the length of time you hold the button, so the longer you hold down the button, the faster the track will fast forward. Don't do it for a few seconds, you'll be at the next track by then!
Took me a while to find things myself. What's not stated in the user guide is that to bring up the list of tracks within an album (while playing a song), tap on the area just above the three dots (...) on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. To get back to the list of albums for the artist you are listening to, tap on the artist name while you are playing a track.
Don't know why they don't mark an option on the screen or tell you this stuff in the manual but its there mate.....

E52 music player freezing

it freezes a lot - esp when im tryin to open the music player, it will freeze for about a minute or 2 - then open..... !! grr! how can i fix this?

1: Connect it to PC in "Mass Storage" mode, and run Checkdisk on memory card under windows.
2: Connect in "mass Storage" mode, Copy all your data from memory card to hard drive. format memory card, now copy back only your music to "Sounds" folder. Disconnect, open music player.
if everything is working fine, connect again and copy back all your data.
Otherwise
3: BACKUP YOUR DATA from phone memory too, take out card, dial this code *#7370# enter your lock code, default is 12345. (Make sure you have enough battery power) it'll wipe c/phone memory.

N95 Music player freezing issue

Ok I have tried many a place to find a fix to my issue. When I am playing my music, every now and then it fades out and then in again in a about half of a second frame and the screen freshes from the screensaver to the music player background. It is not a matter of an alert going off, an incoming call or battery life. I just hate it when I am playing the music and it fades like a cheap DJ trying and failing to do a cross over lol.

N91 Music player broken

my N91's musci player does not want to play music anymore.
when i start it it just tells me no songs,in all the views.i've restored factory settings, used the *#7370# code to reset the phone, but still nothing seems to help. i've thought about updating the firmware and/or formatting the hard drive. do i need to go to such extreme measures?any help will be appreciated.

It sounds like the music database is corrupted. The database looks to be in some folders in the Hard drive (Private and maybe SYS or System) but not sure exactly where.
I don't have a good fix for it other than to re-format the Hard Drive (no need to re-format the phone memory). And then try again.
Some reasons why this may have happened:
- Battery removed before Hard Drive finished a task. (Always power off before taking the battery cover off)
- BATTERY COVER TAKEN OFF, while phone is on.
- Software crashed while Hard Drive was in use.
It's a rare situation specially with the latest SW but it may happen.
You could also try deleting the PRIVATE subfolders in the HDD but other things may not work properly (Gallery, podcasting, games, Lifeblog).

N95 Music Player Freezes While Refreshing Music Li...

Hi,
My N95 Freezes when I select the option: Refresh Music Library. It just tells me how many it has found and it stays that way until I turn off and On the phone!
I tried removing the memory and putting it back in but still no luck. Its funny how when there is no memory card in, it refreshes it successfully! without freezing!
I have also tried deleting all media from my memory and copying them back in again.. yet.. not luck.
It wasnt like this until I updated my firmware to the latest one being: v 12.0.013.
Is there anything I can do to fix it? Is it normal?

I think Korngear is saying that each folder should only have a maximum of 1000 music files.

I just bought my Droid 2 and added some music to it. Everytime I listen to music the phone freezes and I have to restart it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Factory data reset would fix your issues. And your media files are stored in the folder DCIM on your SD card..Down below are the steps...hope it helps!

5530 XM music player woes...

So I updated to the latest firmware for my wife's new (less than a week old) 5530XM and the music player freezes many times per day (more if less based on use, but at least twice a day. It freezes and the characteristics of the freeze is strange. I cannot play any music. I can select songs as long as I do not leave the play list or go back to the main music screen. I can push any button I want within the music player and the button will light up recognizing that I pushed it. I can also go into the menu system and press entries such as exit. However, none of the buttons work. Other than being able to maneuver the music player is completely unusable. To solve the issue we have to completely reboot the phone.
I am not new to Nokia phones, but this is the first phone I have ever had a problem with and do not have much experience troubleshooting.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciate it (Since the whole reason we bought it was for the music ).

N79 freezes when using Music Player!!Also the real...

I have recently purchased N79. I have problem with my music player. Forwarding song or going to the next track freezes the phone. This problem was there from the first iteself. So thought upgdrading the firmware would solve this problem, but it had become worst started freezing and had to remove the battery. So formatted my phone to fix the problem. Now everything is normal except the music player problem which is irritating. This problem mostly occurs when I use FM transmitter for listening songs. And also the real player dosn't play video show blank sreeen sometimes.
Does the preloaded files are creating problem or the memory card is faulty needs to formatted. Its 4 GB card enough free space available.
Can you tell me after formatting the phone I lost licence for preloaded audio and video files in my memory card. Also few applications as i didn't backup. Is there any way atleast to get licence back or do I have to delete locked items.
How ofter Nokia releases firmware update. There is no update available rite now.

Yes, I'm currently experiencing the same problem as yours with the real player. The video shows blank when playing videos, you can only hear the audio.
We'll wait for the firmware update soon.

IPad 4 music player crashing/freezing (iOS7)

Hi all, just over past couple of days whilst using the music player(iOS7) it will freeze when switching from another app for a few seconds and then crash. It also freezes when selecting a song for a few seconds.
Any ideas?

6085 freezing on starting music player

my 6085 has an igb micro sd card installed, most of the space i used to store music files. However, everytime when i wanna use my music player after restart the phone or reinstall the memory card, my phone will update the library and display "starting music player", and my phone will stop responding and freeze for about 5 minutes before it enters the music player, is this normal? how can i reduce the time of "starting music player"?

I am a new user of the 6085 also but I may be able to help.
The text tone is the same volume as the ringtone in the profile you are using (Normal, Vibrate, Meeting, etc.) and you can set the volume and tone in:
Menu ->Settings ->Set Profile ->(profile name) ->Customize
As for the music player, on the first page that shows the music player, click on Options. First, update your library and then click Play Options. You can set it to play random or repeat.

Can not open music player(music library) on n91

My fone has this problem for about a week. Whenever i tried to open music player, it said "opening" with a running bar. I can only play music on gallary by single track. I tried to connect my fone to computer to transfer or edit music, and it worked fine. I havent upgraded any new firmware at all, my fone still using the old version. Does anyone know how to fix this problem ?
