Can Help me to update my CLOCK alarm feature of my N93 because it
not << repeat the alarm >> !! to a specific days
Thanks 4 all

Good suggestion. However this is a user to user forum, not a place Apple comes to read. May want to send them feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

• Clock alarm goes off even when selected to off position

Updated my iPhone4 with IOS 7.2 and now the clock alarm still goes off even with the on/off selector in the off position. I deleted the alarm and re-entered it and it still does this. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

Hello! I recently got the ihome ih11 and was having the same problem on and off. I found out that even though the manual says the ipod has to off and docked for the ipod to go off on alarm, but I learned ipod does need to be on, but closed out play mode on home screen. Since doing this I've woke to my ipod every morning. Try it and see if that works. I have the ipod touch 2nd generation. Hope this helps!

• Ipod Touch 3G no longer plays clock alarm sounds and just pauses and shows alarm messages.

All of a sudden, I am no longer able to hear clock alarm sounds like I used to. Until recently, I was able to just play a music file, set the clock alarm with any sound from the selection while being able to preview the sound before I saved it, and then have it play at the time I set the alarm. Now, whatever music I'm playing just pauses while the alarm goes off and the alarm messages are visble on screen. I went to settings--->general-->sounds and everything is on. What happened here?

Yes, I did. All I needed to do was raise the volume from zero to above using the *actual buttons on the side* of the device instead of just the touch screen volume control. If you try to adjust the volume using *only* the touchscreen volume control, the sound of your music and videos will be affected directly as you desire, BUT if the volume control from the *actual buttons on the side* is completely down, the alarm clock will not sound.
I hope this helps. It may not make sense right off the bat but do give it a try.

• What happen to the alarm feature?

Hello,
I use BlackBerry devices for many years.
Three months ago I switched from 9700 to Q10 and my girlfriend to Z30.
When most of the features are OK (because there are still many issues when the phones freeze), what I cannot understand is the alarm feature.
Obviously, battery usage is harder in BB10, it is especially visible in Q10.
So...
1. I set an alarm for e.g. 8:00 A.M., my phone battery is around 20%,
2. In the morning the alarm does not wake me up, simply because there is no alarm - the phone is dead.
It is a critical bug, but maybe caused by poor Linux kernel in the new OS?
3. I start to charge my phone and go to the bathroom. After 5 or 10 minutes when the phone wakes up, the alarm rings!!!
And I need to get back from the bathroom quickly, just to turn it off.
It is second bug, as since I connected my phone to the charger it means I already waked up! OBVIOUSLY! Why it needs to ring? There is no option "charge and skip the alarm".
Will it be fixed? As far as I remember, in 9700 the radio is turning off after battery draining, and even then the phone is turning off later, but even then the phone can wake up with "empty" battery and the alarm, then turn off again.
In Q10 there is no automatic radio turning off or waking up with the alarm.
Is is so hard to save 3% of the battery, "fake" draining and turn the phone off? Then turn on with the alarm?
Or turn the radio (and maybe applications) off like in 9700 to save the battery?
I am a programmer, from my point of view it is 4 lines of code more to turn off radio and save battery, then half an hour work on the feature that wakes the "dead" phone up with the alarm. But I guess it is some kind of Linux / QNX limitation and BlackBerry team does not modify the core?
PS. I cannot charge the phone frequently, simply because there is no desktop charger like for 9700. I need to use USB cable every time, which is a pain. I will need to consider moving back or choosing another manufacturer after all these years... Why did BlackBerry do one step back?

It is about changing habits.
I have a desktop charger for my 9700 and what I need to do is just place the phone there.
No cables. The 9700 was charging all the time so I didn't need to worry.
http://www.bbworld.co.uk/blackberry/images/9700%20desktop%20charging%20pod.jpg
As far as I know this is impossible to do with Q10, so I need to aim with the microUSB cable all the time.
It's obvious I don't charge it all the time, as I did with my 9700.
But even if 9700 battery was drained, the alarm still worked.
Of course I charge my Q10, I have my charger near to my bed and I charge it additionaly with USB cable on my desk.
Also I have a charger in my car.
It's way worse than with 9700 anyway, as situation with alarm still happen.
Sometimes I party and when I get back the last thing I think about is to charge my phone.
And please don't compare BB to iPhone, I know it's way better, but it's still worse comparing to older models.
I agree that Z30 is better in terms of battery, but it doesn't matter. What matters is sometimes I don't plug in the phone and Q10 doesn't turning off all wireless connections like 9700, and then the alarm is not working when the phone is off.
I'm curious if I'll charge my phone completely and turn it off (e.g. to save battery when travel) it will run the alarm.

• I accidentally deleted my "clock/alarm" app. How do I get the icon back?

I was moving apps and accidentally deleted the clock/alarm app. I can "search" and get my alarms, but I still can't get the icon to move it to my home screen. How do I get the icon back?

I've looked in other folders and screens and can't locate it. I understand that there are apps that can't be deleted and this is one of them....I've tried several ways to locate it and can't.

• Eclipse Mars Install New Features/Update fails with HTTP Code 416

Hi,
I'm currently trying to update my working Eclipse Luna (for Java and DSL
Developers) to the new Mars version (seperate fresh installation), but I keep getting an error, which I was unable to resolve.
The workstation has to use a corporate proxy and it was always a little bit tricky to get the Eclipse Marketplace and Install New Feature/Update working. My Luna Eclipse is configured (network settings) to use "Manual" as Active Provider, with the correct host + port + user + password combination. I also got the known bugs
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=281472 and
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=281384 , so I added the infamous "-Dorg.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.excludeContributors=org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.httpclient4"
option in the eclipse.ini. While this is working in Luna, I cannot use the Marketplace or Update features in Mars.
I can open the Marketplace and it actually shows all the plugins, I can select one for install and the plugin-dependency-tree is show, but the next step fails with the following message:

I tried googling for this kind of error, but it seems no one has reported this problem so far. I'm a little bit lost what to do now (apart from using Luna again), since exactly the same configuration is working in Luna, but is unusable for me in Mars. The network access seems to work because Mars can load the dependency tree of a Marketplace plugin. Every other combination in the network settings fails because of the corporate proxy.
So, any suggetions how to find the root cause? It's quite possible the corporate proxy is misconfigured, but I hope you can help me finding the difference between the working Luna and the (for me) broken Mars, so I know what has to be configured differently. Something seems to be changed in the way the packages are downloaded.
Thank you very much!

• Nokia E51 - Can't set clock alarm tone

Hey there people!
My device is Nokia E51, and for some, bizarre reason, I can't set the clock alarm tone.
When I choose the sub-menu "Clock alarm tone" a list of songs/audio files on the phone is supposed to load.... but nothing there. The phone doesn't even give me any options to choose from. I actually find this quite frustrating and annoying because I'm trying to do something very basic here.
I've attached a capture.
Thanks for helpers.

Well the reason I asked about the large number of audio files is because it appears to be a common bug across many of nokias phones. When you have a large number of audio files (either on the card or on the phone itself) the phone apparently gets 'confused' and is unable to load up the selection of ringtones or music files to use as a ringtone.
The only solutions would be to either:
1) Delete songs until the ringtone menu goes back to normal
2) Do what you have done with copying it to the phone then removing the memory card to be able to select the file.. then reinsert the memory card
Nokia just needs to get their act together. They should seperate ringtones from the music files. This way when you go to select a ringtone.. it will ask to either choose a ringtone from a list.. or to select one of your mp3s from a list. This way keeping it seperate. But that would be extra menus to navigate and people probably wouldnt like it.
But if they did it that way then they could use the mp3 listings by album, artist, song title, etc to allow people to choose the music files they want as a ringtone. It would be easier to do that then continually scroll through huge lists

• RE: (HLS) Why does Verilog pointer requires two clocks to get updated??

In HLS (2015.2), I created a simple comparator circuit. The HLS C-simulation worked fine. The HLS C-function compares
8-bit integers received from an 8-bit data bus against a fixed array of 8-bit integers. If the first integer matches, a pointer is incremented, and the C-function will then look for the 2nd integer in the array. If the sequence of 8-bit integers on the data
bus matches the sequence of bytes in the stored array, a match is detected.
After observing a good C-simulation, I instantiated the HLS Verilog file code into the original manually generated top-level
chip Verilog code, and attempted a Modelsim simulation. It did not work!!
The HLS generated Verilog file has the ports below:
ap_clk
ap_rst
ap_start
ch(7:0) <--- This is the incoming 8-bit data bus.
ch_valid <---- This is an input that indicates the ch(7:0) data bus has valid data.
ap_return <--- This is the match signal.
If ch_valid is HIGH, the comparator compares ch(7:0) data bus against the known internal fixed array of 8-bit integers. The
ch(7:0) data bus changes every ap_clk. The problem with the HLS verilog code is that two clock cycles are needed to update the pointer, which points to the next integer in the fixed array. For the HLS circuit to work properly, the ch(7:0) data bus can't change every clock-cycle. The ch(7:0) data bus needs to be stable for 2-clock cycles. The only reason I found this was
due to the ModelSim simulation. In the C-code below, the fixed array is "pattern0", while the pointer is "check0."
int compare (uint8_t ch, int ch_valid, int sop)
uint8_t pattern0[24] = {0xaa, 0xbb, 0xcc, 0xdd, 0x12, 0x34, 0x56, 0x78, 0x11, 0x11, 0x22, 0x22, \
0x33, 0x33, 0x44, 0x44, 0x22, 0x22, 0x33, 0x33, 0x44, 0x44, 0x55, 0x55};
static int prematch0 = 0, check0 = 0, match0 = 0;
int j;
if (ch_valid == 1) {
if(check0 < sizeof(pattern0)){
if(ch == pattern0[check0]) {
prematch0 = 1;
check0 = check0+1;
else {
prematch0 = 0;
check0 = 0;
else if ((check0 == sizeof(pattern0)) && (prematch0 == 1)) {
check0 = check0;
match0 = 1;
prematch0 = 1;
else {
check0 = check0;
match0 = match0;
prematch0 = prematch0;
else {
check0 = check0;
match0 = match0;
prematch0 = prematch0;
return (match0);
If I write this code manually in Verilog, the check0 pointer is updated in one clock cycle.
Questions:
Why does HLS need two clock cycles to update the check0 pointer?
Do I need to set an HLS directive to cause the verilog code to be generated in a different way?
Does the C-code need to be written differently?
Thanks,
Roy

Hi Debraj,
Thanks for the response. I have another question.
I quicly took the C-code above and added a Verilog clock statement. The code below would execute in one clock.
Is there any way I can re-write the C-code to reduce the 2cc down to 1cc, or is this not possible?
always @(posedge ap_clk) {
if (ch_valid == 1) {
if(check0 < sizeof(pattern0)){
if(ch == pattern0[check0]) {
prematch0 = 1;
check0 = check0+1;
else {
prematch0 = 0;
check0 = 0;
else if ((check0 == sizeof(pattern0)) && (prematch0 == 1)) {
check0 = check0;
match0 = 1;
prematch0 = 1;
else {
check0 = check0;
match0 = match0;
prematch0 = prematch0;
else {
check0 = check0;
match0 = match0;
prematch0 = prematch0;
Thanks,
Roy

• How can I turn off clock alarm sound

I have several clock alarms set for daily or weekly recurrences (picking up kids, etc). They work great, and are very easy to set up and use. The only problem is that there seems to be no way to easily turn them off.
When I use the ring silencer, it does not disable these alarms. I can turn the ringer volume all the way down, which keeps them pretty quiet, but they don't actually get turned off completely.
This means that if I'm in a situation where I don't want my phone to make noise, I need to power it off completely. Is there not a way to either:
1) disable alarm notices
2) turn off the volume for these alarms?
I understand why Apple may not want these alarms disabled by the silencer switch, but they need to have an easily implemented alternative.

I only use the alarm clock to wake me up - I don't want that silent! For everything else, I use calendar alarms - these just vibrate when the phone is in silent mode. The built in calendar is a bit rubbish, I recommend iKoyomi2: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=377326047&mt=8 &u1=web&affId=1860684

"Internal error. Application 'çlock' closed." It started happening about a few weeks ago when I tried to install Fring (beta version). I have un-installed Fring since then.
However, the daemons clockd and alarmd are executing correctly. The correct time is displayed and the alarm that I set before the problem started is still working.
I wish to know whether there is any way to fix the error.
Any useful information will be much appreciated.
Thank You.

yeah... being late sucks .
anyway i can't remember the name of the clock app, too busy to look for it, anyway if you guys manage to get the clock app name, do this in xterm to fix your problem :
sudo gainroot
apt-get install --reinstall clockappname
Reality is wrong....dreams are for real... 2pac .
don't forget to hit that green kudos

• My Iphone 5 clock alarm isnt going off when its "on sound", it acts as if its on vibrate and doesnt wake me up. Started with the IOS upgrade. Is there a bug?

My new Iphone 5 clock alarm isnt going off where I can hear it. Its started on my 4S when I upgraded to IOS6 and even on the Itouch too. I set the clock alarm, turn on sound (not silent), the alarm goes off, but no sounds comes out. I have to reset home to get it to recognize its off, but that doesnt always work, it did it on both my Itouch and Iphone5 I almost over slept this morning because never of them went off and woke me up. Acted as it the sound was down (which it wasnt) and it was on silent mode (which it wasnt) Is there a bug with this? I cant trust my phone now to wake me up. Any help? Thanks Tracey

Same problem here. Me and my girlfriend swapped iphone 5's (she has white, I have black) in may and I rely on the alarm every morning to wake me up for work. It hasn't let me down.
A few days ago I set 2 alarms very early in the morning to wake me up for an early morning flight. Neither alarm made a sound & I missed the flight!!
We then swapped our phones back & she has just had exactly the same thing happen & has missed an important meeting at work. Again, quite an early morning alarm. The odd thing is I have a black iphone 5, also latest OS, never had this happen to me...
Has anyone solved this problem. I can't make it repeat (reset the same alarm for a different time & it goes off fine).
Does I need to buy her a dedicated alarm clock!?!

• Clock alarm doesn't work on IPhone 4

Hi guys, I find out that if I set clock alarm on my IPhone 4 and switched off the alarm didn't work, that's a shame becouse all my old phones work perfectly if I switched off them. Any one know solution for it, apart to keep the phone in stay by? Chees

I fixed my powerbutton easily with some
water repellent oil. I dont know what its called, it is that thing you use for locks and hinges anyway. My iphone powerbutton has been working for like 7 months now. There is no difference from when it was new! I can really recomend this. Just remember to turn of the phone and have it upside down when you spray. And dont use to much! Theres no need for more than a few drops.

• Nokia 5310 Alarm Feature Request/Improvement

Hi,
I started using the Alarm with my Nokia recently. As alarm tone i selected a song. Unfortunatly the alarm switches itself off after 1 min? Can this be changed. It quite annoying if you sleep deep and cant hear the alarm or want to keep listening to the song while waking up.
It would be nice to have the alarm keep running. Or even make it play a playlist.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Not doable, the phone will just repeat the alert tone when snoozed.

• Iphone 4s Clock Alarm wont switch off while in a telephone call

I have a Iphone 4s (5.0.1). If Iam in atelephone conversation and the clock alarm is activated, I cannot switch off the alarm. Terminating the telephone call, does not give me the option to cancel the alarm.
The only option I have is to terminate the telephone call, and power off/on the phone to reset.

Correction. It is the Timer (under Clock app) that when triggers (as apposed to the alarm stated above) Apologises
