Definitely a no brainer!
I find it very odd that a sandisk class 6 card is cheaper than a sandisk class 4 card???
Of course it's odd!
I think the answer is just that prices are quickly dropping, especially on newer models, and the "class 4" prices are just "old" prices of items already in stock.
The italian online-shop site I was browsing (a reliable site, AFAIK), looking for the card, sells "class 4" for 39,49 euros and "class 6" for 35,89 euros.
And it seems they just retouched the higher price: just a couple of days ago, on the same site, "class 4" model price was about 45 euros! I think now they are trying to sell all "class 4" they have in stock, whereas they say they have no "class 6" in stock at the moment (I could just order it).
Thanks everybody for the clarifications.

Hello again, I was just wondering if anyone knows if the pearl 8130 will support an 8gb sdhc micro card?  Sandisk has no info on blackberry, (if the phone can use this card or not) and I just wanted to know if anyone has one, and does it work ok?
    Thanks!

As long as you buy a reputable brand from an equally reputable store (online or physical), you should be fine. Many of the unbranded cards available on eBay, for example, are often fakes or knock-offs that barely work and are therefore to be avoided.
I tend to recommend SanDisk as that's the brand I use and with which I've had absolutely zero problems.
Make sure the card is a class 4 card at least. Some class 2 cards have created problems with phones. There is no advantage to buying a class 6 card for a 5310XM so you might as well go with the cheaper of the two (class 4 or class 6).

  • Re: 8GB Verbatim Micro SDHC card recognized as 1GB Micro SDHC Card

    Dear All,
A brandnew VERBATIM 8GB Micro SDHC Card is only recognized as 1GB in my T130 / WIN 7 - funny enough: A brandnew SANDISC 8G SDHC Card is recognized as 8GB
Anything I can do here to use the VERBATIM Card ?
    Any Feedback is much appreciated
    Ciao Gerhard

Where did you buy that 8GB SD Card? Are you sure it's genuine?
If you got it from eBay or similar, it may be a fake SD Card that is physically 1GB but reformatted and re-badged as 8GB.

  • Micro sdhc card

hello does E51 support 8GB micro sdhc cards??

oh a 4GB will not slow down your phone.
I heard ppl speak about 8GB slowing down, causing trouble restoring the phone memory after a firmware update etc etc. But I think a sandisk of 8GB could be ok. Still I will not try it.
remember that industry standards as spoken of in the above link are not always equally well implemented by all manufacturers. That is why I simply do not believe all of the good talk about the 8GB micro cards. I had my experiences with memory cards on all sorts of devices and you always end up loosing things if you're not careful.
But most important is NOT to buy a Kingston card. A sandisk works fine in my phone. I even have over 1GB of Nokia Maps installed and that application runs smooth. So I would say buy 4GB. Cause if you ever want to have some maps on your phone you can use a little extra memory.

  • N95-1 V21.0.016 MAKE APPLICATIONS DOWNLOAD FAIL !

I notice that this V21 in my N95-1 make my application/software/games installed in difficulty ! sometimes some games & application just cannot be installed properly...but it "eating my memory card memory". I do check my application manager but suprise to know that application not installed but memory already being occupied ! If some games successful installed but it really take times to installed ! Previously i was using N95 with V12.0.014..no such problem at all...install anything is so fast & no system "crash" with same application or games as now...It seem like phone system have to travel a long "circle" only can get thing done , worse still sometime is out of installation after long "travelling".
I really sad with this firmware V21.0.016 with N95-1 released ......

Something you are installing. Some third party application is causing this problem.
Try NOT installing all those games and other applications or install one by one until you find which one is causing the problem.

  • N95-1 (V21.0.016) get slower & slower ...?

i used only Sandisk 4GB sdhc card , used up 2,885kb card memory, available card memory is 993kb...phone memory around 100MB. Every time i on my N95-1 (v21.0.016) , i hav to wait abt 10 minutes to get the phone totally boot up to menu...i installed quite a number of games in card memory, now my RAM available when just boot up left 25MB instead of 28MB ...is this more Games will causing this problems? I also installed more than 1,500 mp3 songs in card memory but i don think this will cause the problem..Now i wonder i copy my 4GB data to Sandisk 8GB card will hang my N95-1 if i save more content in 8GB card? anyone can help?

This is characteristic of installing applications and themes to the mass memory. Do not to that.
Once the phone has started up next time, uninstall all the applications and themes on your memory card and install them in the phone's central memory.

  • N95-1 V21.0.016 HIDE APPLICATION ICON AFTER INSTAL...

I used Sandisk 4GB SDHC card with my N95-1 V21.0.016, currently had all my mp3, MV,internet links, photos, wallpapers, software, & games all installed in this 4GB card except "Yahoo Go" in phone memory (as advised by Yahoo), my 4GB card available memory is around 890MB left with 2,989MB used for the above. i found out that original Nokia apllication like "WLAN" icon, "Dictionary" icon, "Search" icon already HIDE in phone ...coz when i go to assign shortcut item, i found there are still exist & still can be assigned shortcut in navigation button but it won't shown in phone menu...anybody know why? I can say that it is pretty good to start a fresh upgrade firmware like V21.0.016 for N95-1 with fresh installing ie not RESTORE from previous firmware back up data...but we had thounand of valuable data ..so what can we do? So when think of this important data , we r sure to restore bac. Once restore sometime depends LUCK..If lucky enough all data restored is OK & workable but not all the time is so good..I already reformat V21.0.016 three times but there is some problem must be happen....tired !

  • Does the ipad mini come with a micro sim card?

I am interested in purchasing an ipad mini w cellular option.  I am moving to the UK for a year and want to use a provider there but switch back to a US provider next year. Does the ipad mini come equipped with a micro sim card?

The US AT&T model comes with an AT&T SIM. For other carriers you will need to get a nano-SIM from the carrier.

    Scraigs,
If you have the right OS as posted by Dfisher: Try formatting the card. I've read in the forums that that maybe your problem.
    Hope this helps!

  • New Curve not recognizing an 8gig micro SDHC card

Hi - I am totally new to the BB and to this forum. Here's my dilemma - I just bought and "installed" an 8gig micro SDHC card last night. The phone does not recorgnize it. First when I went to take video, it told me to install a formatted card. When I try to format, I get the message "Media Card Format Failed". I have tried many times, checked on how it looks in it's spot behind the battery, etc. Everything else seems OK. Any help??
    Thanks much.

What I can deduce from my experience is that one should not buy a SDHC card if you've got a curve 9300 or 9330 phone. Even if the SP tell you the model is compatible with the technology, blackberry specs only mention that SD cards are accepted

    Hello,
Sorry...but wrong. The only difference between SD and SDHC is the capacity of the card. SD goes up to 2GB (officially...some have labeled themselves SD but go to 4GB). SDHC goes from 4GB to 32GB. HC simply stands for "High Capacity." More information is available in the Wiki:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital
So, while the BB specs may only say "SD", they must include SDHC since they further indicate the capacity of Media Cards that various OS levels support:

  • E65 and 4gb Micro SDHC card

    Hi out there
I bought a 4gb Kingston Micro SDHC card for my new E65, but the phone don't regognize the card.
Can the card be used with the phone, and if so - how.
My phone has softwareversion 3.0633.69.00 from 06-02-08
    Thanks in advance

The card cannot be used with the E65.
The E65 only supports the micro SD standard so it's maximum is 2GB. 4GB cards are the newer SDHC standard and cannot be made to work on older hardware.

  • Optimum allocation size Toshiba Class 2 16GB Micro SDHC card

    Hi --
Be gentle, please. I am newly registered here and am not sure that I found the correct forum to post this question.
I have a new Toshiba Class 2 16GB Micro SDHC card, just received today. Before I used it and while it is still under warranty, I wanted to test it for genuineness with the H2TestW program, which requires that I format it first.
Certainly I want to retain the default fat32 format but what file allocation size is best?
The card will mostly be used in my Sandisk Clip Plus to play MP3 files. A quick glance shows most of those files to be 5,500-10,000 KBs.
    Suggestions, please?
    Thanks.

    Hi buddy,
I use different SD and SDHC cards for years now and I always use the default settings for allocation size. I never had any problems with that.

  • C7 Micro SDHC Card Problem

I am having problems with my Nokia C7 which fails to start after installing a Kingston Class 4 16 GB Micro SDHC card. The card works perfectly in other devices (including a Nokia 6120 Classic!)
The C7 works OK  with a 2 GB micro SD card.
The card appears to be within specification and whilst a C7 is not listed on the Kingston website the card is approved for the C6 and various other earlier models.
Any suggestions on how to get the card to work would be welcome.

Try formatting the memory card. If formatting via phone not possible or its not working try Connect your phone to a PC via mass storage mode and try and format the memory card.
