N95 8 GB VS iPHONE

Hello to all,
I looked in search and found comparison between the old N95 to the iPhone.
Part of the "con" on the N95 changed in the 8GB model -like battery time etc.
Any update comparison between the two last models?
tnx.

I see whenever a thread created to N95 8GB agaisnt some other brand another v20 user comes up and spoil the thread. 128 MB is essential for CONTUINUOUS web browsing. Nokia wont mae less than 128 MB of phones. And there are heav y symbian users out there who needs 128 (bootabe and remaing) MB RAM worth. Talking about iPhone vs N95 8GB. Then go on. Dont mae pointess arguements which turns out to persona attacs and results in a locked thread. Of course I aint ditching the N95 classic users. Be happy with your N95 Classic phone. There are many loyal N95 8 GB owners who use it for bigger screen, better multimedia and multitask.

    Does anybody know if there is an easy way to transfer my calendar from N95 to my Iphone? Or do I really have to do it all by hand?

    The easiest way will be to sync your N95 to Outlook, transferring all the contact and calendar details over. From there, just sync your iPhone to Outlook and it will transfer these details back to the iPhone.

  • N900 Vs. iphone

    I have been a die hard fan and user of Nokia since it launched 5110 in around 2000. Since then I have used almost all the top models from Nokia. The only phone I liked really were 6610 & E 71.
    I got N900 and try to convince myself eveyday that its the best phone or internet tablet I have ever used.
    But today it disappointed me very badly. My mate is a big fan of iphone and we always have argument which one is better. I always said N900. But today when he was with me I tried to open Many/all apps eg telephony, calendar etc. But it took tallest 30 sec to open any apps. And made me feel so embarrass. I discos from 3G , no apps running in background, but opening any apps taking so long is unacceptable, even after overclocking @ 900Mhz. I have used the iphone 3GS and its not bad at all. I know its made my apps but this is what we want afterall. isn't it. An app which can show a timetable of train/bus in 10 secs rather than opening full website taking 5 mins to do so. And many more.
    I don't know what to say. I love N900 but I guess its not for use in public. Better use in private.
    I know now many ppl here will jump on tell me to do this and that and tell me its all my mistake to buy it.
    But anyone HONEST tell me if I'm wrong practically which one is better?

    i don't have the probllem with the resistive touch screen either. infact i love it than capacitative. but the thing is now you go on any website and they have their apps made for iphone like banking, local stores etc. i know we can access full webpage but don't you think its more convenient to have the things in apps where you can do the things in few touches rather than going through the whole webpage.
    my N900 sometimes takes ages to just open telephony (sigh). a yellowpage apps will pick your location straight away in the iphone and you just have to type the business name and here you go. you have all the info and contact and no can be dialed from the app whereas on our N900 its a very slow process of opening the web site then zooming it to fill the info of name and location than copying the no pasting in the telephony and calling. and if some how you loose the no than have to do the whole thing again. all the major banks in australia, India USA provide banking apps for iphone. allt he major airlins have apps for iphone. where you can check schedule, check in on iphone. you name any thing and they basically have an app. you go to another city and can order a pizza from dominos with that little app rather than going to the webpage and filling out all the details. it does have the apps for a common man which are needed for day to day business.
    mbox where you can take a pix of a docs and save as pdf or send it as a fax or receive a fax direct on the iphone. docs viewer and editor app for which you dont have to pay anything whereas for our N900 it $15.00.
    Microsoft was big b4 but since apple have got iphone in the market their worth is now 226 billions which says it all.
    I'm not saying iphone is the best and N900 is not, but as a user of both the phones i think iphone got got more practical apps to be used on day to day basis than N900, but still love my N900.

  • Back To The iPhone...

    After having a case of "the grass is greener" recently, in which I foolishly traded my iPhone for a Nokia N95...I have seen the error of my ways in less than a week, and have traded the N95 for another 8gb iPhone with a long-time member of Howardforums...like myself.
    The N95 is an amazing device, and I have to give it credit for being the most feature-filled phone I have ever seen...but I realized quickly that I would never use or need half of the features on it. I am admittedly not a "techie" at all...and was more intimidated than excited by the Symbian OS.
    So...as of next Tuesday, I am again an iPhone owner/user. I believe it is the best mobile phone I have ever owned, and I am very satisfied with it. I now wait patiently with many other iPhone users for Apple to send very necessary "fixes" in the form of updates...
    But...GLAD TO BE BACK!!!

    welcome back...
    If you ever decide to trade again, I will trade you your iphone for a vintage 1984 bagphone... an iphone for a bphone... hehe
    no really, welcome back, I love my iPhone

  • UK iPhone 3G Still O2?

    Hey, i was wondering if O2 is still the only person allowed to sell the iPhone in the UK for the new 3G model. If it still is any tips on trying to get out of my vodafone contract?

    Thanks, sounds good, although im paying £45 a month for mine and still got about 12 months left, I dont know why i picked the N95 over the original iPhone, i can't stop beating myself up for it. Although i do think apple are unfair not allowing other providers not to sell the iPhone, after all, they can lower the price all they want, but if your on a contract with another provider, I wont be getting an iPhone, simple as that

  • Terrible flagship problems, bluetooth and syncing

    Ok, this is getting a bit pants now..
    Firstly, everytime I connect my phone using the USB cable and start either Nokia Music or Ovi it syncs my music.. every track.. every time.. This is on a fresh install of XP SP3.. no other software at all..
    Nokia care ummed and errred for a while and "promised" to call back with a solution after trying to convince me that the problem was my tracks didn't have names (which they do.. and album art).. They leaped on the chance to blame my Mac running XP.. firstly, that's not a excuse.. a Mac booting XP is a PC.. secondly, I'm using a Dell, I never said I ran XP on my Mac..
    This cannot be normal! (the syncing problem, not the lack of support.. I've never had Nokia care solve a problem, but that goes for Apple too)
    Secondly, I have a pair of BH-905.. the flagship headphones.. noise cancelling, BT, very very nice (on paper)..  but..
    It is not accep.........tabletocutoutthenspeed up during playback. It does th..........isfartooregularly it is very dull.
    Next problem is the first call after turning the headphones on.. the microphone is mute.. You can hear the caller/other end, but they can't hear you. That's real handy, especially if the phone is in your bag.. you have to dig it out, press "activate handset" then "activate BT headset" to allow them to hear you
    Seriously, two flagship devices and they didn't test them together?!
    I've got to find a decent phone to test the headset. Since the N97 loves bugs, I suspect this is a failing in the phone..
    Maybe v20 will solve these problems. Seriously.. BT headset not working.. what year is this? 2001? Screwing up such a basic phone feature is as bad as I dunno playing the default ringtone randomly!! I jest, but still something is very wrong when the two flagship devices (Nokia billed the BH-905 as the best headset ever!) don't work properly.. shocking!!!
    Does anyone else have these problems with bluetooth headsets on the N97 or perhaps on other Nokia devices?
    How about syncing? I take it everyone here can sync only new tracks when they connect their phone?

    I am convinved there's something messed up with the N97's BT Audio stack.  I have the Blue & Me BT audio system in my Grande Punto and it worked perfectly with my N95, problematic on the iPhone when Apple messed something up in a firmware update but later fixed and worked fine, but the N97 struggles to connect automatically when I get in the car and turn on the ignition.  I have to either turn the N97 bluetooth off and back on again or manually connect the N97 to Blue & Me.
    I really am hoping that Nokia get it all fixed in 2.0.

  • No idea how to use Skype on e65

    I couldnt see any topic about settings for skype. I want to use Skype over wi-fi. Please tell me what settings i have to do.
    THX

    I was using K790i before that, i was bored with it so i decided to change with e65. But to be honest i'm not satisfied with that phone. Even you cannot compare e65 with k790i. E65 is only better on technical sheets. Ok it have better specs like 3G, UMTS, Wi-Fi.. but be sure these are the only better sides.
    If you used only Nokia till today you can't understand me but there are a lot of differences in using menus in bad way of course, camera quality, some details, for exaple while setting an picture as a background you can't stretch it to fit the screen in nokia, or k790i is making the list of people who you r sending message and next time you can select one of contacts from there and be sure this function is very practical, no need to compare their camera, there is a huge difference. E65 is taking photos like 4-5 year old model. The menu is extremely complicated for example i don't know why but for wi-fi there are settings in 3-4 different menu.
    And another big disadvantege for e65 is like allways, the stanby time.
    I can use e65 2days approx if fully charged. But the duration for k790i is 4-5days like its old model (k750i). Nokia must do smthng about it's battery technology or phones power consumption.
    Shortly i don't recommend e65.
    If you have enough money then buy n95 or wait for iphone(i'll do like that).
    Forgive me about my terrible English

  • Drive App on N9

    The N9 Navigation is very limited.
    I did find the following limitations;
    1. There is no Favourite Tab/option
    2. There is no Save location option.
    3. There is no Fastest/Smallest Route option.
    4. Once you select a destination, the Navigation Mode keeps on taking you to the same route which it initially selects, even if you on online mode. It wont show you the alternate route..
    THIS IS WHAT i HAVE FOUND TILL NOW. IS THERE ANY OPTION OR SUGGESTIONS OR HIDDEN MENU SOMEWHERE.

    WHILE IN DRIVE:
    1.  there is no favorite, but it does remember all the addresses you searched.
         while drive is open- menu/set destination/last destinations
    2.  this is the same as 1.   while in drive.
    3.  YES,  this is true.  although, that option has never been correct and given me bad information since the e90 anyway...so i never used/trusted it.
    4.  not sure why it is not recalculating route.  i have tried this just last night and it recacluated.  i do not remember it doing that on pr1.0, but it is working on pr1.1
    WHILE IN MAPS
    1.  if you search an address and tap the blue bubble, the address appears, then tap the (star) to favorite the location in the bottom of the screen.  after that, if you tap-menu/favourites you should now see the favorite there.
    2.  this is the same as 1.
    3.  again, it is not here either.
    4.  this  isnt really an option in the maps, only the Drive application.
    hope that helps.

  • No navigation options on Skype

    I am trying to use Skype for the first time on my Surface Pro. I created an account and can sign in but don't see anything with navigation buttons,. I see only one page with three blue circles in the top left - phone, people, and search.
    I cannot use any of the help stuff from Skype because all of it assumes that you can actually navigate away from this page!
    Whenever I press enter and then try to do something (i.e., I tried to post this and when I clicked enter, it took me to a Skype sign in page and then to set up a profile on the community - so I don't know whether it was posted before.
    I did uninstall it and then reinstall it (twice) but nothinig helps.

  • How to enable Google Mail on the N9

    So I want to turn on the Mail application with my google account. I click on the create account, select google, add my credentials and it says it's being successful. I can turn on google talk and it works without issues. However, the Mail app just continues to ask me for my password, tells me it's wrong (it's not wrong) and doesn't fetch any mail. Where is the problem and how do you fix it?

    Try this.
    But make sure what you want to do with your contacts. If you want to sync your gmail contacts to your phone and choose the mail data to remain it will delete your phone contacts. But if you select phone contacts to keep, it will update the data in the gmail.
    To configure the Mail for Exchange application for Google Sync, follow these steps:
    Open the MfE folder on your phone and start the Mail for Exchange application.
    Select Yes when prompted to create a new Sync profile.
    Configure the profile with the following settings:
    * Connection
    Exchange Server: m.google.com
    Secure Connection: Yes
    Access Point: your carrier's Internet access point
    Sync while roaming: your preferred setting
    Use default port: Yes
    * Credentials
    Username: Your full Google email address, e.g. [email protected]
    Password: Your Google Account password. (If you're a 2-step verification user, please use an application-specific password instead.)
    Domain: leave empty
    * Sync schedule
    Decide when you want synchronization to happen. Leaving this Always On will ensure your data is always current, but will also consume more battery than other settings.
    * Calendar
    Synchronize Calendar: Enable or disable
    Sync Calendar back: your preference
    Initial Sync: Decide if you want to keep existing Calendar events on your phone or replace them all with events synced from Google Calendar.
    * Tasks
    Synchronize Tasks: No (currently not supported by Google Sync)
    * Contacts
    Synchronize Contacts: Enable or Disable
    Initial Sync: Decide if you want to keep existing Contacts on your phone or replace them all with contacts synced from Google.
