N95 8gb and standard number

When I write an SMS, I'm always asked which number on the specific contact I wish to send it. Of course, I wish to send it to that contacts cell phone number.
Is there any way to set this as default, and avoid the question which number for that contact I wish to send to?

I guess they give you the choice because you can actually send SMS to some landlines these days ..

The file is DRM protected (see link that korngear provided) so it cannot be copied and played on another device.
The movie itself is Pan&scan to fit the 4x3 aspect ratio of the screen. And the version I saw was in English with English subtitles but I'm not sure if this is different in each country, maybe each country has it's own language subtitiles.
    Just one question loco:
    what was the video specs?
I mean the bitare, FPS, etc and is it possible to encode Spidey 3 better than that one?

  • N95 8gb and sling box ring through?

i have the european version of the n95 8gb and was wondering if there is a way when watching the sling box or browsing the web you can set it so my calls would come through so i dont miss any calls while in an active edge session/...( i also have tmobile and that means anything???

Hi and thanks for your advise. Tried it twice without success. The software loads onto N95 fine, deleted pairings as instructed, ran programme and it just stayed at the "processing" stage forever, I waited 15 minutes on both occassions without it actually doing anything. Never mind worth a try! Thanks again. The phone is of no use to me when I am in my car for work, which is most of the time, so I will be going back to Sony Ericsson as soon as I can get a K850i.

  • Differences between N95 8gb and E71

    Hi
Just wondering if anyone can shine a light on this one.
I currently have an N95 8GB which does not show the contacts when connected to my cars bluetooth. Seat say its todo with the Symbian s60 s/ware but a friend has just bought an E71 which works fine , am i right in that the E71 still has symbian s60.
Anyone know what the difference might be.
    Thanks

The E71 is also based on Symbian/S60.
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/E71
And it supports the following Bluetooth profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, BIP, DUN, FTP, GAP, GAVDP, GOEP, HFP, HID, HSP, OPP, SAP, SPP.
    The N95 8GB:
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/N95_8GB
Bluetooth profiles listed for it: A2DP, AVRCP, BIP, BPP, DUN, FTP, GAVDP, GOEP, HFP, HSP, OPP, SAP.
So, comparing these lists, we can see the following differences:
E71 has these, but the N95 8GB doesn't have them: GAP, HID, SPP
    The N95 8GB has BPP, but the E71 doesn't.
Now if we look at what GAP, HID and SPP are...
GAP = General Access Profile; basis for other Bluetooth profiles, so it not being listed for both devices is a bit puzzling (could just be an omission on the web site).
SPP = Serial Port Profile (for virtual serial communications port emulation); not relevant for carkit things.
HID = Human Interface Device profile (for Bluetooth keyboards, etc.); not relevant for carkit things.
What are or should be relevant for carkit use is: HFP (Hands-Free Profile) and PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile).
The interesting thing here is that PBAP is not listed at all, but your experience with the E71 seems to indicated that it does support PBAP.
Anyway, I'd say you need it for the N95 8GB, too, if it isn't there. Perhaps you can get it (or a working version) with a firmware update?

  • Nokia N95 8GB and Windows 7 Home Premium Dutch

:robotmad:Ladies and readers, I have, including a Nokia N95 8GB the desktop is new and draaid on windows home premium en when I Vista had worked with the Nokia everything is perfect. Now that I do I get windows 7 have not been contract more Nokia N95 8GB through the desktop computer get the notification that the software is not good, but which I have already removed and again installed but there is also clear the need to install software that it is old windows and vista so there is not to WINDOWS 7 I will take place this is a major disaster for Nokia that, over time inspeeld on a real upgrade for the desktop so that there is also normal contact with the Nokia N95 8GB can be made. why it is not on the openingspagina of Nokia if it would have been! We are nevertheless service to clients and should do so we get a good appliance bought and not a WHICH CANNOT comuniseren with the computer since Microsoft now Windows 7 sells and what I am therefore in the original state I can install by an approved fitter. Therefore, I would like to see that Nokia a link sends so that I can make both wireless contact and the mobiletelefoon can facilitate upgrading and data can uitwissellen. Otherwise, this after 3 pieces my last Nokia. vetaling Babylon

Dude i think u just spoke french!
Sorry to say that i didnt get a word that you said.
I assume you have upgraded to windows 7 and are unable to use or install nokia pc suite.
First of all it aint nokia's fault that windows 7 came after they had uploaded the setup.
All you need to do is download the pc suite to you computer or laptop or whatever it is ... then right click on the setup and click compatibility mode nd just keep pressing next next next.
Im sure your pc suite will be installed then and you will be able to use your computer to transfer everything to and from the phone..
Have fun and lemme know if it worked.
Chances of workin = 101% because im on windows 7 aswell

  • N95 8GB and Windows 7 Connection Issue

I'm trying to connect my Nokia N95 8Gb to Ovi Suite but continually receive errors upon driver installation. This is no doubt to related to the fact I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. Back on my old box running XP; no problems whatsover.
I swear I must have tried almost every possible fix under the sun; those that I could think of and those that I googled. Tried PC Suite and Ovi Suite. Different drivers, versions, windows settings.. With each failed attempt reverted again (via Total Uninstall).
The latest version of Ovi Suite (3.1.1.85) has not helped either.
It appears to be the same two drivers Windows has trouble installing; and if not both, then almost certainly the "LCIF" driver.
This problem may or may not have been encountered/solved; please point me in the right direction if it has been fixed, as I could not find it. Any help appreciated!
Screenshots (the first is from a different installation):

If the issue not being connected for being in a 64bit os, then there is a work around if your windows 7 version is windows 7 prof, or utimate. You can download XP Mode, in which windows XP is running  virtual in Windows 7. I tried it with legacy in-house created applications for XP & it works, even all the drivers.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

Is one able to use the phone as the camera and mic via the PC to connect to Skype? As we do not live in a 3G area at present and I have broadband at home I thought that this may be an option.

If you have wireless broadband then www.vyke.com may be what you are looking for I use it and it works fine.

  • N95 8GB and .sisx

    Hello,
i can't install a .sisx file - when i get such an .sisx file the phone will open the notes-application and i can read die .sisx-file there - but the installation is not starting ...
what can i do for use such .sisx files?
    thx

It is something to do with the server it is being downloaded from in which the server doesn't have proper MIME type configured for SISX files.
S60 phones require the server to have it configured (MIME type tells the terminal that the file is a Symbian OS installer) or else it considers that the file is plain text and opens it in the notepad.
If you can download the file using a computer and install it via the USB then it should work, or wait for that server to fix the problem.

  • N95 8GB and emails

    Am I missing something?
How do I go about saving downloaded emails?
Can't seem to find any option for this.
    Any help apreciated
    PJ

    Thanks guys.
I simply want to be able to move the email to a user folder for later reference like I did with my old N73.
As it stands now the emails disappear and there's no option for moving to a different folder.
Thanks for the suggestion but in all seriousness: having to copy paste emails as a workaround is a joke considering the capabilities of this phone.
Very strange. I must be missing something.

  • N95-8GB - Not able to connect in Data Transfer Mod...

    Hi all,
Recently I bought N95-8GB and installed PC Suite which comes along with the phone in my OS Windows Vista Home Premium. When I try to connect my phone in Data Transfer mode, I am getting message "Found new hardware - Windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device" and I am not able to find any driver for the same.
Please help me out to solve this problem.
    Regards,
    S.Suresh

just let the wizard run through and select the options that windows will search for the friver itself. the dirvers are included in nokia Pc suite package.
YOu can also try to use the standard NOkia PC Suite from www.nokia.com/pcsuite or generally look for a fresh version of NSeries PC Suite from thephone web-pages, the CD-ROM versions are normally outdated

  • New N95 8gb smsing problems

hey i just bought a N95 8gb and when i tried to sms, it keeps on redirecting to some sms2.0 page and then my sms keeps on getting stuck in drafts. no matter what i do, i cant seem to send out any msgs. Anyone knows what to do? thanks

ok so you have the right number !
take your battery out for a few minutes and then boot up...
now you can do a soft reset *#7780# that will resotre all default settings.
if that does not work you can do a hard reset *#7730#
make sure that you have a back up, unless you can afford to los e the data that you have on your phone. you can do a back up via Nokia PC suite.
now when you reboot go to the settings wizard
tools- utilities- sett. wizard or somewhere in that vicinity and allow the phone to define settings.
again make sure that all your numbers and correct for the sms centers. this should work

Taking out an N95-2 as an upgrade for contract renewal when you already have an N95-1 is not something I'd do, personally. You may have different criteria but this is how I see it at least.
The -2 has 128MB of system memory and can therefore run more applications and process more complex web pages etc. That's a good point in the phone's favour.
However, that's about all it offers more than the N95-1. It has the same camera (which no longer has a lens cover here), the GPS is the same... OK, it has 8GB of on-board memory. You can get that by stuffing a £30 memory card in the N95-2's slot. The N95-1 has 2 considerable advantages over the N95-2 in this area: 1) if the phone has a problem linked to the mass memory you can remove the card from the -1 and format it in a card reader using your desktop computer (you can't remove the mass memory of the -2). 2) When larger capacity cards become avaiilable, as they will soon, you'll be able to have an N95 with 12GB or 16GB of mass storage while with the -2 you're stuck at 8GB.
OK, the screen of the -2 is bigger than that of the -1 by 0.2" so it's better for video and viewing photos full-screen.
On balance, I don't think the N95-2 offers enough "plus" over the N95-1 to entice me to renew a contract to get one.
    But that's just me...
