N95 8gb hanging/problm in the earphone socket....

bought my fone a week ago n since d fist day it was hanging a lot while normal usage and most of the times it hung up when i inserted or removed my earphonz from d fonez 3.5mm stndrd socket....so i got my software upgraded to v11.0.026 n the problem of hanging reduced but still it occurs..i mean if i insert d earphonz 10 timz a day every 2 timz d fone hangs up..so i wanted to confirm dat is it a bug in d firmware or itz sum kind of hardware prob in my fone.....

when i connected my speakers to my n95 8gb it resterted like you say, but i found out that it was because my phone was on silent, so go to tools>settings>general>enhancement>select headset or headphones and choose the default profile, mine was set to active and because my phone was on silent it reastarted.
that could be your problem.

My N95 8GB hangs and restarts automatically every 5-10 mins. My Device manager says, I have v 31.2.2008. And as soon as I connects to the Ovi Suite and my phone get added to ovi suite and when ready to sync, phone gets restarted automatically and keeps repeating and never get a chance to sync with Ovi Suite for the first time. I heard pretty bad about the Nokia services that they take all your time and with no output and it now proved when tried installing Ovi Suite.
Please make sure your services have highest quality and some regression test done across your software and phones. Please don't waste users valuable time.

    Hi Kora,
Is your Handset gets restarted automatically only if its connected with your OVi Suite?
If yes, Please provide your Mobile details (*#0000#) and your PC details.
Go to OVI suite -> help -> About nokia OVI suite -> System information. Paste the information...
Also are you trying to connect your handset thru' cable or thru' bluetooth.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Unfortunately, the AirPort Extreme will not provide more wireless coverage in the office area connecting using wireless only, so you really gain nothing.
Even though you could connect a hard drive to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme, the signal would still have to travel from your iMac all the way back to the Uverse gateway and then back again from the gateway to the AirPort Extreme with attached hard drive.
The signal for the printer likewise would still have to go from the iMac to the Uverse gateway and then back to the printer.
If you could hard wire the AirPort Extreme back to the Uverse gateway, you could configure the AirPort Extreme to "create a wireless network" using the same wireless network name, security and password as the Uverse gateway, so in effect you would have a much larger wireless network.
The printer would connect to the wireless signal from the AirPort Extreme since it would be providing a much stronger signal than the Uverse gateway. With the hard drive connected to the AirPort Extreme, the iMac would have a much better signal as well using wireless. It would be even better if you connected the IMac to the AirPort Extreme using a wired Ethernet connection.

  • American owner of the n95 8gb...

If you live in the U.S. and own a n95 8gb could you please reply to this or message me because I have some questions I would like to ask you. Thanks.

yeah that would be a good idea huh?... Alright I was wondering how the internet compared to the iphone?.. I'm asking b/c I've used an iphone's internet and think it is quite slow. I know the n95-2 will be on an EDGE network like the iphone, but is it as slow? And also, I've heard that the n95 8gb isn't covered under warranty by nokia if it is used in the U.S. b/c it isn't a U.S. model. I've emailed nokia asking about this and they keep asking me to enter and IMEI number (or something like that). If you have a n95 8gb and live in the U.S. could you just clear these things up for me?

  • N96 v N95 8GB

With all the n96 negativity, im starting to have second thoughts on upgrading. Could u guys jus give me a quick n96 v n95-2 duel so i can assess whether i should hang on to my n95 8GB. Cheers.
    Phones owned: 6230i, 5300, 6300, N95 8GB.
    Anticz009

There are not a lot of benefits featurewise to upgrade from N95 8GB.
    Screen is the same.
    Almost the same features.
    Plusses on the N96:
    - 16 GB on board plus the possibility of uSD cards to expand memory.
    - Faster USB (about 5 times faster than N95 8GB)
    - New features in S60 (too many to name)
    - Much improved Music and Video Playback times compared to N95 8GB even with its larger battery
    - Speakers are correctly located to enjoy video in full screen.
    - 3.5 mm connector is on the top and not the side
    - Better audio quality through headphones.
    Negatives:
    - Software is new so it's not yet as robust as the latest update for N95 8GB. But it will get there eventually.
    - 3D graphics performance is lower in N96.
    - I can't think of many negatives other than these two.
Other than these they perform very similarly,
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • N95 8gb Multitasking Capabilities

    Hi all,
I have been trying to troubleshoot the intermittent hanging that I've been experiencing lately.
Basically the phone sometimes hangs when I multitask the music player and integrated web browser.
The phone hangs when I have music playing in the background, and while I'm surfing net. It is OK when I am playing only music and not surfing.
I wonder why this is so. If I play only music and it doesn't hang, corrupted files shouldn't be the case.
Perhaps the N95 8GB can't handle the multitasking of music player and web browsing?
Has anyone experienced this before? I'm already on V15 firmware.

Please!!! I also need help with this! I also have the same problem deleting those "orphaned videos"... In my situation, they are videos that I convert & transfered through the Nokia NSeries Video Manager, tried to opened on the phone and won't open. When trying to open them I get the same msg "the xxx file is open" and won't alow me to delete them. They are not shown in the Video Manager in the computer so I have no idea what they are doing on the phone. Aswell, since that happened all the videos I tried to transfered from the computer to the mobile don't get transfered... Does anyone how 2 resolve this??? PLEASEEEE!!!

  • Nokia N95 8gb latest firmware update 21/02/13

Hi, I have had a problem whilst updating my N95 8gb and now it appears, I think, that the  firmware version I have is an older one than I had previously, but there isn't anything newer showing as availaable. I have 35,0.001. I am sure that the last time I had a problem, after it was "flashed", the firmware I had installed by the shop was this and then when I got home and went to restore my files, there was a new update available on line. The rreason I say this is that the icons and colours etc are like the version installed by the shop, about 1 year ago and when I updated the software everything was different. If what I am saying is correct, does anyone know if this newer firmware update has now been withdrawn or can anyone throw any light on the subject as I am a little confused! Thanks

If your N95 8GB is RM-320 the last available firmware for all product codes is v35.0.001. Using restore via Nokia Suite can only reset your individual personalisation settings.

  • Problems with musicplayer on a Nokis N95 8GB

has anyone found a solution for the probs with the music player. I have in the music player 8 songs showing but in file manager on the phone or using the pc either by bluetooth or USB the no songs at all. The songs will not delete either, when I attempt to delete them I get a message saying "General: Feature not supported".
Anyone any ideas, is an absolute pain especially in such an expensive phone
    Cheers

    Hi Showshifter, try the following:
    1) Copy the music files you want to wherever you want on the memory card (or mass storage if its the N95 8GB).
    2) Connect the phone in "Data transfer" mode to your PC.
    3) Delete the two files in "E:\private\101FFC31" (called "mpxv1.mpd" and "pcv5.mpd").
    4) Delete the one file in "E:\private\101ffca9" (called "harvesterdb.dat").
    5) Disconnect the phone from the PC and run the Music Player on the phone.
    6) Wait a while for the app to startup. It will be rebuilding the library......
    7) Just to be sure, select "Refresh".

Hi - read about this problem from a few people - I have just got a brand new N95 8GB from O2. Installed the cd software but it would just not find the phone using the USB.
Ive tried different USB cables and ports to no avail.
Ive uninstalled the software from the CD and installed the latest software suite. no joy.
Ive set the phone to Phone Suite as opposed to mass data. No joy.
Ive connected my Blackberry to the same usb cable and port and it connects fine.

    Hello,
I just downloaded the newest firmware for the n95 8gb.
I had the heard that the newest firmware allows for auto rotate screen from portrait to landscape and vice versa.
Is this true and if so how do I enable this feature?

    Yes, sure !!
    Check I've said having an RM-421 phone. That's the N95-4 or N95 NAM. The N95-2 is RM-320.
Should I assume that americans (not only north-americans) don't need to rotate their screens ??? :-)

  • N95 8GB - Default Code 12345 Not working

I want to reset my phone to original factory settings and my phone does not accepts default code 12345, how can this issue be resolved.

post007, that is the case for some models but not all. On some FP1 based phones the hard reset actually reset the security code, I believe the N95 8GB was one of the models that this could be done on.
So it is worth taking grschinon's advice and giving it a try.
If it fails to solve it the only option is to contact a nokia care point.

The v10 N95 8GB firmware is not the same as the old N95's firmware. v10 has all te improvements made to the old N95's v12 plus extra features like ngage.
It's just a number, not an indication of stability.

  • Differences between N95 8gb and E71

    Hi
Just wondering if anyone can shine a light on this one.
I currently have an N95 8GB which does not show the contacts when connected to my cars bluetooth. Seat say its todo with the Symbian s60 s/ware but a friend has just bought an E71 which works fine , am i right in that the E71 still has symbian s60.
Anyone know what the difference might be.
    Thanks

The E71 is also based on Symbian/S60.
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/E71
And it supports the following Bluetooth profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, BIP, DUN, FTP, GAP, GAVDP, GOEP, HFP, HID, HSP, OPP, SAP, SPP.
    The N95 8GB:
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/N95_8GB
Bluetooth profiles listed for it: A2DP, AVRCP, BIP, BPP, DUN, FTP, GAVDP, GOEP, HFP, HSP, OPP, SAP.
So, comparing these lists, we can see the following differences:
E71 has these, but the N95 8GB doesn't have them: GAP, HID, SPP
    The N95 8GB has BPP, but the E71 doesn't.
Now if we look at what GAP, HID and SPP are...
GAP = General Access Profile; basis for other Bluetooth profiles, so it not being listed for both devices is a bit puzzling (could just be an omission on the web site).
SPP = Serial Port Profile (for virtual serial communications port emulation); not relevant for carkit things.
HID = Human Interface Device profile (for Bluetooth keyboards, etc.); not relevant for carkit things.
What are or should be relevant for carkit use is: HFP (Hands-Free Profile) and PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile).
The interesting thing here is that PBAP is not listed at all, but your experience with the E71 seems to indicated that it does support PBAP.
Anyway, I'd say you need it for the N95 8GB, too, if it isn't there. Perhaps you can get it (or a working version) with a firmware update?
    List of Bluetooth profiles here:
