N95 8GB Memory full when synchronising. No way!

I've got loads of memory on phone and mass memory. Why do I get 'Memory full. Close some applications and try again.' when I try to synchronise with N series pc suite on xp media centre?

Hi, ive been racking my brains because of this as i was wanting to sync before updating my N95's software..
I had 1.4gb free on my memory card.. and about 110mb free on the phone.
Finally figured The reason why my sync was failing was a very large note (which i had forgotten about) 770k.. after deleting this.. phone sync's perfectly.
Have a look for large notes!!

  • N95 says Memory Full when opening a Help file

On most menu screens of my N95 you can select Options and then Help.
For some reason I currently get a 'Memory Full' message when I try and view the Help file.
My phone is showing 75Mb in use and 72Mb free when doing a memory check in File Manager.
This occurs whether my 2Gb card is installed or not.
Any suggestions on a fix ? I'd rather not have to reload f/w or or do full reset.

  • N81 "Memory full" when installing app

    Hi
Using N81 (with 2GB external SD, not 8GB), I'm trying to install the last version of Whatsapp.
I download the app, but when installing I get the "Memory full" error message. I've never experienced this issue.
I've removed most of apps, but I'm still getting the message. What could I do? Thank you very much.

    Hi @bilbaow
Try uninstalling the old version of WhatsApp, then re Install the new one. I suggest you copy the .sis file into you SD card, then install from there....
    Hope it helps.

  • N95 8Gb crashes (resets) when connecting to PC to ...

My N95 8Gb crashes (resets) 75% of the time when connecting to my PC to use PC Suite.
This is now getting to be very annoying.
I have also noticed other things like if you either drag a video file (avi) onto the phone area of PC Suite or into Nokia video Manager, it take a very long time to convert and then tells you that there's not enough room on the phone.  I have found this is due to the phone and pc suite using different folders on drive E:.  This should have been tested or could it be due to Vodafone moving items within their branded software.
The daftest thing about it is after taking upto 3 hours to convert and you place it in the correct folder (or changed the folder in the setings) on your phone, it'll only play the sound and give no picture.  I have converted some of my old movies to DIV-X and this is what happens when you get Nokia software to convert them.   I have tried a couple of video converters and think AVS Video Converter seems to work the best (demo leaves a watermark in the movie).
Are these common problems and what is the best way to get around them?

    Dear Forum,
What i could suggest you guys is install the Nokia OVI Suite 1.0 for Nokia N 96 from the following site
    http://europe.nokia.com/A41159160
or latest NSeries PC Suite from the nokia support pages. Because Nokia N96 will have better compatibility with NSeries/Nokia OVI Suite. But, there is no need to uninstall Nokia PC Suite (7.0.x.x) from your PC, as many of you may be using this for editing Messages and Contacts which is not part of NSeries PC Suite / Nokia OVI Suite right now Have a great day

  • "Phone memory full" when running PC suite's SMS up...

    Windows XP SP2
    Nokia PC Suite 6.81.13.0
Nokia 6230i connected to PC via Bluetooth
When I click on the Nokia PC Suite's "Messages" icon, it correctly opens Nokia Phone Browser, and if I click to create a new SMS it launches the update of the messages between phone and PC. Soon I get "Error, phone memory full, try to free some space on the telephone and try again".
Then the SMS editor opens and works, but the phone is anyway not synchronised with the PC (I erase some SMS on the phone and keep seeing them on the PC).
Phone memory is almost 90% free.
This has begun right after updating to this last PC Suite version.
    thanks!

So .. with other words .. you are telling me not only PC Suite is **bleep**py software but the phone is a piece of junk also and doesn't delete SMS messages properly ?
Sorry, but this is NO solution for the cause of the problem and doesn't guarantee that it won't happen again. I need a fix so it never happens again. There's no time for "try and error", that's something Nokia should do in their labs instead to deliver low quality software and devices.
Oh well, if there won't be a working solution fixing the cause for this issue soon, I'll decide for my company to give back all phones (50+) and switch the vendor for good. We're still under guarantee so it's easy to make Nokia liable for this failing device.

  • N95(8gb) Memory Problem (please help)

    Hello
New here, so I hope I'm posting this in the right area of the board.
I have recently purchased a second hand N95 (8gb) but having problems with the mass memory. Yesterday, while downloading some tracks to the handset (about 2 hours worth of tracks from scratch), a warning kept appearing on the phone saying that memory was full and that I needed to delete some data. I went to the memory section of the phone and by mistake I pressed the 'format mass memory' thinking it would help, but it didn't. I still cannot put any tracks or videos to the phone. Intotal I have only 18 tracks, some 1 hour 12 mins in length. Clearly something has gone wrong.
The phones capacity is currently reading:
    Capacity: 7735mb
    Used: 1472kb
    Free: 7734mb
    Hope that someone can assist.
    Many thanks
    Jonathan

  • E71: 'Memory full' when holding left softkey to re...

A feature of the E71 is when you hold down the left softkey in the Home screen, it will speak unread SMS to you. Lately, and still after a hard reset, I get:
'Memory full. Close some applications and try again.'
Of course the memory is not full (75MB free) and I have rebooted. Any ideas?
    Solved!

Oh yes I do have the voices.
I just figured out the reason for the bug. Nokia Conversation (their threaded SMS add-on) was causing it. When I uninstalled Conversation the softkey functionality returned. Although Conversation says it's compatible with the E61 and E70, I guess that doesn't quite stretch to E71!

  • Case for N95-4/N95 8gb for use when riding bicycle...

I want a case for my N95-4/N95 8gb for when I'm riding my bicycle (going cycling).  I use sports tracker while I'm doing this.  I also like to take pictures so it would be nice if I had a case with some sort of strap.  any ideas from anyone?

thought I'd try and bump this since bicycle season is coming.  What are other N95 owners who do biking and use sports tracker do?

  • Why is my memory full when i have only used half of it?

Hi all, i have a 2012 MBA 120GB, i am new to mac books but have had all the other apple products for a long time.
my MBA is constantly telling me "memory full" and other messages like that. i have looked at "about this mac" and it displays i have 60gb of music, photos, apps etc, and the other 60gb is "other", and therer is no memory left.
i have deleted all of my emails in all boxes to see if this is it, and it isnt. i dont have any back ups, for our iphones and itunes at all, and i havent set up time machine either. i am at a total loss as to why this could be.
i have avoided using it latley because i cant put anymore photos or music on to it. the only thing that i have done to it since i have had it is install Mountain lion, and microsoft office for mac.
i have looked around for the answer to this and have come up with nothing, i'm no expert at all with a mac, i have looked at installing daisydisk or something like that, but i dont have enough memory to install it!! so if anyone has a step by step guide as to how to sort this out i would be REALLY grateful!!

    anyone?

  • N95 8gb loses signal when charging

When i plug in the charger signal strengts drops to zero, i'm unable to make or receive any calls. I tried 2 chargers and both had same effect on the phone. In service center everything was fine, no signal drops, i was able to make and receive calls with both my chargers and the one owned by center. When i got back home, and plugged in charger, the signal died... I tried all wall outlets at home, the effect was the same - dead signal.
The signal strenght is kinda weak at my place and most likely the strenghts in the service center is a lot better, so no difference could be made with or without charger. But in the first place why does it drop, why would it matter if phone is charging or not?
If anybody experienced anything like that with N95 or maybe another model, please suggest me what to do.
    Thanks in advance!
P.S. i'm gonna do some more tests in my friends flats.

I just did some testing at my friends flat. When the charger was plugged, phone lost some signal strenght, but not completely, there were 1-2 bars at signal indicator and i was able to make and receive calls.
Damn, i can't prove anything in service center, because network coverage is a lot better there, and signal doesn't drop. If anybody has a solution, please reply.

  • Inbox memory full when using mail boxes

I have been organizing email in my mail boxes. My email service has now told me that I am maxed out on my email storage space. My email service is reading my mailbox emails as emails that are still in my inbox. I want these emails to be separate from my inbox so this won't happen. Does anyone know what I can do about this?
    Power Mac G5. Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Never mind. I realized that the memory was full because I have been "leaving messages on the server." I went in a deleted all of those and I am ok now.

  • N95 8gb memory fault

im having problems with the inbulit memory, menu > tools > utilities > memory, then i am gettin a message saying 'mass memory not available'
so i cant access anything in gallery, pictures, music etc
    please help.
its out of warranty beacuse the screen broke and had to take it apart to replace.

Then it stands to reason that in doing so you have damaged something else. Even out of warranty, it is unwise to repair the phone yourself. All we can recommend you do is have it repaired at your cost by a Nokia service point, we are not allowed to discuss any form of hardware disassembly here.

  • Running out of room on my Nokia N95 8GB

    Hi All,
I am running out of room on my Nokia N95. On my Windows drives for a situation like this, I usually turn to a utility like WinDirStat or TreeSize to tell me how much each folder has, because Win XP by itself doesn't let me see the size of all sub-folders for any given folder.
However, using Nokia PC Suite, the path to my memory card is not accessible to either WinDirStat or TreeSize. In Explorer, it looks like:
    Nokia Phone Browser\Kermit the N95 8GB\Memory Card
But the path in WinDirStat and TreeSize comes up more like, neither of which can work with this:
    ::{20D2AFE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08006A30309D}\::{416651E4-9C3C-11D9-9BDE-F66BBD1E3F3A}\359542013516644\E:
So, how do I get a proper idea of where my space is going?
    Any assistance appreciated.
    Rob

    Hi Babdi,
That's of some help - at least now I know that it is sound files that are taking the biggest chunk of memory, but I need a better break down than that. For example, I have files belonging to over 20 podcasts - I would like to see which particular podcast is taking up the most room and trim that one. As it is, I can see all individual sound files in the folder:
    Memory Card\Podcasts\Sounds
but it isn't immediately obvious which file belongs to which podcast, and there is no way for me to logically sort them into their categories..
Any other things I can try?
Thank you very much btw - you still showed me something useful.
    Rob
