N95 8gb notes question

I have a lot of notes on my n95 and was just wondering if I can save them to my laptop somehow then delete them off my phone? Was thinking maybe synch with PC suite or back-up?

Hi, if you have an Ovi Account you can use it to sync your phone , just set phone details, they'll txt the settings to your phone and you can then sync contacts, calendar and notes OTA and save them in your Ovi Account, I use it regularly (plus if you;d deleted them and needed them you can get them back by syncing away from a computer !)
Good Luck

  • N95 8GB Newbie question re Text Messaging

    Hello Folks,
I live in the USA an have AT&T as a provider. I am just learning my around the N95 8GB. When I try to send a text message I get a screen with two window. One is label "Text message Center" and the other has "message center number" in it. Does anyone have any idea what to put in these windows? I tied calling the local AT&T store and they had no idea.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    John

Thanks for your first reply Sage.
I tried the remove the battery and SIM card suggestion but to no avail.
As mentioned in my first message, the guy at my local AT&T store seemed to have no idea what I was asking for. He said that all text messaging was "mobile to mobile."
Perhaps I need another source at AT&T or perhaps I am going down the wrong track.
If anyone else has a suggestion, please let me know. I am sure I am not the only one in the USA with AT&T who has faced this questions.
    Thanks again folks.

  • N95-8GB - Not able to connect in Data Transfer Mod...

    Hi all,
Recently I bought N95-8GB and installed PC Suite which comes along with the phone in my OS Windows Vista Home Premium. When I try to connect my phone in Data Transfer mode, I am getting message "Found new hardware - Windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device" and I am not able to find any driver for the same.
Please help me out to solve this problem.
    Regards,
    S.Suresh

just let the wizard run through and select the options that windows will search for the friver itself. the dirvers are included in nokia Pc suite package.
YOu can also try to use the standard NOkia PC Suite from www.nokia.com/pcsuite or generally look for a fresh version of NSeries PC Suite from thephone web-pages, the CD-ROM versions are normally outdated

  • New update for N95 8gb not showing

a software update for the n95 8gb has been announced recently, but when i go to update, it doesn't show the latest version in the updater.
I assume nokia haven't got it up yet, despite stating on the site that it is available. This has some fairly essential updates such as flash.
    Am i being impatient?

    Hi wintomato
Presumably you mean v15.0.015 details here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4577225
You don't mention whether your N95 8GB is a SIM free version or network branded in which case network may have not yet authorized the release of this software update.

  • Upgrade from N95 to N95 8GB not enough memory

I have just upgraded from the standard N95 to the N95 8GB, I did the back up from the old phone however when restoring the files to the new handset it has completely filled the phone memory. There does not seem to be any management of the memory (aka sim/phone of old) I cant see how to make it use the larger mass memory rather than the phone.
Having the phone memory full renders it unable to do anything, like set up a mailbox or choose a ringtone.
    Any ideas....

  • N95 8GB SMS question

When I receive a new SMS all I get is "one new message received".  I'm sure that with other Nokia's that I've had it tells you who the SMS is from, but not with my N95.  I'm on the Three network, is this something to do with the network or settings?   Please advise.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That is perfectly normal for an N95 8GB.
Some other nokia models do tell you who the message is from on the main screen but not the N95.
You can add that feature by using one of the programs below.  Try the demos and see which you prefer.

  • N95 8GB Camera question

    Hi,
I just got my phone and I love it so far! but I'm puzzled as to why the camera is unprotected? Didn't the earlier version have a shutter?
I'm very careful with it, and really don't want to hide it in a custom "sock" :-) ... I'm just surprised. Why offer 5mp and a Carl Zeiss lens and leave it unprotected?

Incidentally, according to my local nokia shop, they decided not to include the shutter on the N958GB because people complained about the shutter catching on their clothes and opening in their pockets.
    Sound like nonsense to you?
To be honest, yes. I've never had my N95's shutter open on its own in my pocket and it sounds more like the bloke was searching for a plausible answer to the question why the shutter was removed.
I think it was simply a way to reduce the production cost of the handset.
Maybe Nokia will consider putting it back on future models if enough people raise the concern.

  • N95 8GB not supporting .sis files?

...is this true? I tried sennding a few .sis files across bluetooth to my N95 and it says 'Installation of 'xxxx.sis' not supported.'

Dont worry, it seems I can only install symbian 3rd edition .sis files.

  • N95 8GB compatibility question

how comes that almost every application I come accross which is for Symbian system is not compatible with this phone, even if it is compatible with N96 for example (here is an example - the Text-to-speech http://europe.nokia.com/A4286225 and themobile dictionary.
what the *&#$??? it is a real bummer

S60 is the Nokia addition over the Symbian underlying operation system. S60 is the smartphones platform (N and E series, as well as some other series). 3, 3.1, 3.2 means 3rd edition and the .1/.2 means Feature pack (FP). The edition should be though as the version of Windows (XP, for example), while the Feature pack shall be treated as Service pack. While the edition implies major system changes, the feature pack adds some not so dramatic system changes. For example, the 3rd edition of S60 was shipped with changed security, caching, kernel modifications and graphics; S60 5th edition is available for the newer touch devices (5800 and N97). When choosing application, you need to look for those stated as compatible with S60 3rd editions (also written as S60.3 or S60 3). Feature packs built upon the existing edition mostly in terms of applications. Feature pack 1, for example, brought alarm clock with multiple alarms, as well as alarm sounding when the phone is off. In general, simple applications written for given edition will be compatible across the feature packs, but will fail on another edition. So, S60 3.1 applications will probably work on S60 3.2, but not on S60 2 or S60 5. This does not apply for all applications, though. You can read more about S60 here:

My phone has started doing the above. Devices that are set as authorised and that have always connected automatically previoulsy do not now do so. I have to go to bluetooth devices and click on a paired device and click connect to audio device in order to connect it.
    Has anyone experienced this previously?

mmm That is more of an issue of a headset not reconnecting when back in range. Mine applies to all BT devices that I have paired including headsets (2), car kits (3) and PC. Where usually they would connect, say on powering up the headset or starting the car etc they don't now.
try to delete all the BT pairings in the phone, and try to reset the BT Headset, then pair again with the phone 1st, if this is your priority...
remember your headset can accept up to 8 pairings, and the 1st pairing is always the number one priority, hence it will look for that device 1st...
you may also want to remove any pairings of the headset to the pc, if there is one...

  • N95 8GB not receiving texts

Other night my phone stopped receiving texts, rang o2 to see if there had been any bars put on my phone - none at all they just said turn it on & off, if problem keeps happening update the software.
Turned phone off & on again, got 5 texts straight away..
Oviously can see when a text is coming through because you got a slash through the signal sign, but the texts wont actually come through until i turn phone off & on again..
Have been doing this everytime now to receive a text, backed up all memory & updated software and the problem still exists.
Is any one else having this problem or is there a way to sort it out??
    Cheers, Sam.

I have the same problem with an N73 on O2. Only started happening at the beginning of April. However, I have no idea that I have a text message so unless I remember to keep turning the phone off and on I just never get any. Don't get indictations of voicemail either :-( I have had the phone for almost a year the latest version of firmware and haven't previously had a problem with this. I did think I'd cured it by changing the message store to phone memory rather than card but that doesn't now seem to be the case. It's very frustrating. Will be interested to hear of any solutions.

  • N95 8gb Newbie question about settings

Hey gang, When I put the phone into my case, it sometimes calls previous contact by inadvertently pushing the green button. What setting do I use to lock the keys when slider is shut? Thanks,
    -Dave
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I can't remember the name of the 3rd party application but I am sure you will find it at
    http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/
If you goto Security Settings, scroll down to Phone and Sim, then scroll down to Autolock Period and enter the time you want.

  • Screen won't work, sometimes - N95 8GB

    Hi,
Had a few problems as of lately with my N95 8GB, not really impressed with it to be honest.
Amongst other things, the worst problem would have to be the slider mechanism.
    - I'm not sure how to explain it properly as it's complicated, so please bare with me -
Every time I move the slider from Landscape(music player) to Portrait(key-pad and all) the screen goes black until the bottom of the slider reaches above the 7, 8, 9 keys. Essentially, it doesn't work from starting to move it to the Portrait mode from the Neutral position, to just before revealing the whole 7, 8, 9 keys.
Music and the like play in the background through all this happening, as the phone just goes into the "locked mode" and the screen turns off, so the phone is still on.
Ofcourse there are exceptions, like when I move the slider up and down fast, and seem to trick the phone, but I'm guessing that's mostly irrelevant.
tl;dr The screen doesn't work for the middle third of the entire slider movement.
Not too mention the secondary camera not working - period, or my calls only working on loud-speaker.
Yep, this is the least of my worries.
Anyway, thanks for any help in advance, hope you can help.
And one final note, I'm stuck on firmware v 11.x something, and I run my computer on Vista. Since NSU doesn't support Vista, is their anyway to update it to v 20.x without going to a Care Center or whatever they are called?

    Hi All,
Probably the Secondary camera of my N95 8 GB purchased just a week ago is not working
I discovered it when i used the secondary camera yesterday for the first time
When i use the sec. camera, only a bright yellow screen appears. The pictures taken are just a combination of red & yellow dots. Can anyone help ??

  • PC will not read disc which came with N95 8GB Phon...

Upgraded to N95 8GB. So far so good, then !!!. Came back from hols to link with PC to find that the CD drive and DVD drive will not read the disc which came with the phone. PC will still read other discs but not the Nokia disc. What is the disc format and can I get what is on the disc elsewhere?

It's probably just a damaged disc. You can download the PC Suite software from www.nokia.com/pcsuite, as far as I know you can't get replacement CDs.

  • N95 8gb V20.0.0.16 Multimedia Key not working

    Hi, I think I found a bug!
make sure the phone is in portrait mode:
    1. press the multimedia key
    2. press it again to exit
    3. Turn the phone to bring it to landscape mode (make sure auto rotate is enabled)
    4. press the multimedia key
For me the menu does not start. When I switch it back to portrait, the menu still doesn't launch, so I have to restart my phone to get it working again.
    Can anyone verify this?

Just now i read that post. But that guy(wintomato) post that on 15th of march. So it was not about v20. Because v20 just released few days before. When I used v15 nothing happened like that. Maybe it's depened on particular theme or devices. Like my camera has 2 green spot after v11. But very few pepole has these prob. Good luck
