  • N91 8gb vs N95 8gb vs N81 8gb

Want to buy one of the three
i just care about the music (quality)and about talking on the phone....thats all
please suggest which is the best!!!!

I would have to agree. If you are serious about audio quality through the 3.5mm connector then the best one is N91 8GB.
The speaker of the N91 is good but not very loud so if you are going to do a lot of listening through the Hands Free speakers then the N81 is probably better for that.
But an N91 8GB with external BT speakers is best. Also you can get an external GPS module like the LD-4W and use Maps to navigate this works very good. You put the LD4W in your car windshield (suction cup) and connect via BT to N91. GREAT!
Anyway the cons of the N91 8GB:
    - Size (it's on the bigger size)
    - Screen rez (low rez screen compared to newer devices)
    - Limited ammount of RAM and Phone memory (not very good for multitasking or installing lots of programs)
    - No expansion beyond the 8GB
    - Hands free speaker is not very loud
    PROS:
    - Best audio quality in the 35 mm connector
    - Price (I've heard that now a days it's come down a lot in price)
    - Stainless steel housing (very nice color and feel in your hand)
    - Very resistant HDD, you can count on this baby working even if you drop it many times
    - Dedicated remote connector. This makes it possible to use the keys in the remote without having audio clicks (N95)
    - Lock switch
    - One key music access. just press play
    - Decent video capabilities for video playing. But not as good as newer devices.
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • N81 8GB sound quality

    Hi,
While the mp3 player sound quality is great on my new phone, all the other sounds (ringtones, sms alerts etc.) have really low quality. They make this irritating click at the end every time they are activated and you can hear a hissing noise as they play. Is this normal?
It seems to me like the hardware and software depts. at Nokia are not too friendly these days. My phone came with a broken hands free and a back cover that's loose and creaks when using the phone . The OS is the only thing that has been polished to (near) perfection...

As with any kind of product from any company, a new Nokia phone model may be put on sale anything from a couple of weeks to several months from the public and press launch.
There are also a number of factors outside of Nokia's control that have to be taken into account -
    (1) Once launched and made available for sale, many operators and high-street retailers will only order new stock in accordance with their normal routines, ie: they might place orders with Nokia at certain intervals, or they might not order new stocks until sufficient numbers of their existing stocks have been sold.
    (2) Once Nokia has orders for the new model, stocks have to be distributed to the operators/retailers, who then have to get the phoens into their own distribution chains to the various outlets.
    (3) In many markets, operators dominate the mobile phone market, and in these cases you can bet your bottom dollar the phones will be repackaged in the operator's boxes with the operator's versions of the firmware before it hits the shop shelf.
    (4) SIM-free phones are, in many markets, only available direct from the manufacturer or from independent retailers. Nokia does not decide how many phones will be SIM-free, ti depends on the individual market as to how dominant operators are.
    (5) Sales dates will also vary from country to country

  • N81 Sound Quality (Earphones)

    I have being doing some test with the N81. Here are my findings;
    - N81 sound output via headset is low even if max volume n full equaliser settings are set with also stereo wideing on/off & loudness.
    - I tried different earphones in the N81 such as n91 earphones still sound quality low, & Sony ericsson W810i earphones sound quality abit loud due to bass in the earphones.
Is this a pure joke by Nokia or something? N95/N81/N81 8GB/N95 8GB/N76 have 3.5mm Audio Jack but the sound quality is pathetic with standard earphones.
However my Sony Ericsson K550i beats sound quality of the N81 even with its standard earphones.

  • How to delete a corrupt software from your N81 8GB

    Hello all.
I'm new to this and i was just wondering if anyone could help me.
I need to delete or remove a corrupt software on my N81 8GB.
The problem is that nothing is working and i don't want to format my mass memory.
Though if formatting is my only resort how can i back up my mass memory and keep my data safe?
Any other way to remove it?
    Anything is appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    Infamousblood

Download Nokia PCSuite 7.1.18.0 and Nokia Software Updater 1.4.85 from Nokia site, then install NPCS first. Connect phone. Then NSU. After that make a memory backup, first on your memory card, next by Content copier from NPCS. After this Open NSU and follow commands.
But after backup memory you can try to soft reset by dialing *#7370# this reformat your phone and restor software as from factory, but with latest software, if you updated.

Generally. However SW upgrade on N82 allows to keep user data. Where your videos were stored? MM card?

  • N-Gage on Nokia N81-8gb.

    Hi,
I have got an original N81-8gb (RM-179) the one that came with a demo version of the n-gage application before its first release. (Or pre version 1 of the n-gage 2 if you see what I mean).  I have had no problems with it (or the device) until I came to update the n-gage client to the latest version.  Unfortunately the client fails to install (regardless of how I get the installer on the device) with an error about it being a"built-in component" which I suppose it was when i first had the device, but I was able to install the first full release version.
I'm running the latest firmware 21.0.10 (Or something like that, its reported as being up to date with the Software Updater) and Have tried uninstalled everything and even reset the phone to factory defaults all to no avail.  As a side note I also cannot even uninstall the n-gage application as it doesn't appear in the AppManager and pressing the 'c' key on the icon to delete also fails.
Does anyone have any ideas as the customer care email address is completely useless as they don't seem to bother reading your email and only tell you to...
    1) Install the latest firmware (I already am)
    2) Install the n-gage app (I can't thats the problem)
    3) Reflash your n95 (I don't own one)
    4) Goto 1.
I just hope that someone else has had this problem and can help. Thanks in advance.
    - Skavenger.

Do a hard reset, and then try again to install the n gage application into your phone.
Hard reset (the three key code/reset). Turn off the phone. Press and hold three keys together, the green/talk key, the * key and the number '3'.Then, turn on the phone and don't let the three keys before you see the nokia hands logo/nokia boot up screen.Warning! You will lose ALL your phone's data/files!

  • Any comments for N81 8GB?

    Hi,
May I know if anyone have used N81 8GB? How is it? I managed to have a look at the phone, the lower part of the front panel seemed rubber and sponge like...look fragile. The keypad also got 1 layer of rubber stuff...not those solid stuff...
The functions seem attractive. Any comments?

i have it, and tbh i dont find owt wrong with it, keep trying 2 open the 2nd slide (as i had the n95 8gb) then i remember it cant lol, but it all seems ok really, think the music buttons can get annoyin cause u dnt ave 2 add a lot of pressure to activate it so unless its locked music player can turn on

  • Mp4 on n81 8Gb?

Hi guys, i was wandering if mp4 movies can be watch on N81 8GB. This cause i´ve downloaded Led Zeppelin movie in mp4 (it plays good on iPod) but when i try to open with real player it says:- unable to play either movie and sound-.
    Anyone knows why?
    Thanks in advance

Most MP4's are created using certain codecs, these codecs tell the file what framerate, size of screen and compression ratio it is to use.
The best thing to do is find out the details from an MP4 that does work on your N81 and use a file convertor to change your new files to that format.
Use GSpot to look at the file format..

  • N81 8GB Firmware availability

I know Im not alone here, but Im just wondering how many other N81 8GB owners here are still stuck on V11 firmware?
There are many claims all over the net stating that V20 is available, but it is infact not the case to all N81 8GB owners.
Does anyone know when the N81 8GB will officially get new firmware, because V11 has a serious flaw in it, that the Navi Wheel has very poor response.
    Thanks
