N95 aol email sending/settings
I have set up my n95 phone for aol email using Imap settings given by aol
I am able to retrieive email/files and read them from aol server but on trying to reply or send new email nothing happens just a continuous upload bar.
I feel this could just be a setting problem and have checked all settings are as specified and it still does not work.
Anyone out there had a similar problem and has any ideas on fixing it
Thanks Brian

AOL email sending issue, after latest iphone update
I have updated to the latest os. Now suddenly my AOL emai laddress has stopped sending, recieving is fine. I am alos using the company wifi, which is bt. I have also changed the outgoing mail server settings to smtp.btinternet.com, but still cant send.
Does anyone have any idea that might fix this.
Jeffno, you need to actually go to your settings and change it to push data rather then fetch it manually.
Settings>mail contacts and calendars>fetch new data>Push should say on.
and if it says its already on, tap it to turn it off, then tap again to turn it back on.
also, www.downrightnow.com you can see how extremely often throughout the day yahoo mail servers are down. -
Why wont emails sent from my aol account on my iphone?
It works fine from my Macbook and other pc's but just not the handset.
everytime I try to send it places the email in the Outbox and displays a messageAre you sending an iMessage to an IOS 5 device? The Messages only works between ios 5 users. I have friends who have iPhones that don't have the update or their phone/touch is too old to get it and I cant send a message either.

Problems sending AOL emails (in UK)
I have had my Iphone for about 6 months now with no major problems but for the past few weeks I have been unable to send emails from my AOL email address. I also have a Googlemail address and this wirks fine, any suggeestions??
When trying to send an email it states
"the connection to the outgoing server "stmp.aol.com" failed"
this displays twice (ie you ok the 1st one and it appears again)
I ahve checked the settings and nothing has changed from when it used to work, the details
Settings/Mail/AOL/outgoing mail server is "stmp.aol.com" with other STMP servers marked on.
Any ideas, as I have deleted the account several times and re-installed but to no avail, any suggestions??Hey Guys,
Thanks for the replies. This is running on OSX client, not server and no authentication is required.
I did figure out a way to make it work late yesterday. I'm not sure if this is the "right way" or not, but it seems to do the trick.
In the automations tab in the system prefs panel of FCS, I went to "Assets Ready for Review [email]" and clicked through to the Responses screen. Here the "From" field was left blank. I put in a dummy email, and it worked just as advertised!
Michael, is this where you said to leave it blank and let FCS fill in the address? If so, where does it pull the address from? Can I have it pull from a metadata field and put the person that was working on the projects email in there, so the reviewer can respond to that real email instead of the dummy one that I used?
Just a thought....
Thanks again.

Aol Email won't send from ipad2
Problem with aol email. I can receive but not send aol email. Had been working fine but recently started getting this message " a copy has been placed in your outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed". I deleted and then reinstalled email account. I reset ipad to factory settings and put aol back on. Still cannot send aol email. Aol email receiving is fine and gmail works with no problems.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

email send/receive suddenly doesn't work (as of September 24th); I can't change email settings (one suggestion from tech) as BB phone won't accept *valid* username and password -- what to do?
I understand from a support note that if I keep trying my password/username combination, my BB will eventually delete all data!
I can't understand this. I'm completely lost now. I can't remember what I've done or tried to do. A plethora of usernames and passwords is swimming in my head.
Thanks for any hints. I have always loved this BB Bold and have never had any trouble with it.But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work? I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe. This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot. But I know both were exactly the same. But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.

One thing puzzles me:

I then found one suggestion that the problem might involve permissions. The suggestion was to right click PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe in its installation folder (which on my computer is at at D:\Photo\Elements 11 Organizer) and run Organizer as an administrator. This also failed.
I don't understand why running the exe from the installation folder would have worked.
I would have simply tried to run that exe from its real location :
Sorry, I can't help you more about permissions... -
Using AOL email how do I bring my SMTP password into line with my actual password so I can send email? Thanks.
I'm trying to go from memory now when it happened to me, but try turning the server Off. See if that ungreys the setting so that you can enter the password and username. I believe on my one AOL account what I did was to select another SMTP server from the list below the primary server.

AOL email connectivity issue - Sends but does not receive
I have 2 AOL email accounts on my Droid X. Up until Thursday, I had no issue receiving emails to both addresses. Suddenly on the Thursday my default account kept indicating connectivity issues with the account. The other AOL account worked perfectly.
I can still send from default AOL account and they are received, but I am not able to receive any email into this account. I tried to forwarding these email addresses to my gmail account. But gmail is not receiving emails from either account.
Any suggestions?SHAC wrote:
This is amazing!
i didn't know people still used AOL mail LOL
Time Warner took over AOL and allowed customers to retain their AOL accounts to minimie the headache of converting everyone...
Now to the ones having issues, have you tried contacting AOL and make sure they are not transferring or updating a server, because usually when they do this it can effect some accounts but not other just as you have discribed. They may require a new port entered or even pop, imap or smtp access information. Drop them a call and verify incoming and outgoing addresses. -
Can't send AOL email in firefox
for the past couple of hours, I cannot send AOL email from my firefox browser. I get a message saying there is an error. I have re-booted several times to no avail
Instead of accessing your AOL mail via Safari, setup your AOL account using Mac Mail.

v10.4.11 is a very oudated OS X so it's not going to work on Safari.
Firefox no longer supports OS X v10.4.11 which is why it's crashing. -
I can't access my aol emails or send emails
Hi from today I have been unable to receive/send aol emails from my iphone 5 ,i have rebooted,i have deleted and reset email account but with no success ,help need please
SteveUnfortunately I cannot suggest a fix (no help, for sure).
Suffice to say that AOL is my mail platform and I have no problems on either my iPad or MacBook Pro (using Apple's Mail application).
AOL does have an occasional problem, but I have not noted any recently.
The last time I had Mail problems (on my MacBook Pro), I restored my system from a backup (not something one wishes to do frequently).

Can't send non-web AOL email to non-AOL email addresses under FIOS
I've successfully used non-web client-based AOL email for years using (a) Outlook as an email client on my PC (FIOS connected to the internet via co-ax) and (b) my iPad AOL mail account (FIOS connected to the internet via wi-fi.) This stopped working two days ago both on the PC and the iPad.
However, when I turn off the iPad's wireless and connect to the internet via Verizon cellular 3G, the iPad's AOL emai account works, (Unfortunately, I can't do a similar test on the PC.)
Based on this and the bounce-back error message I get from AOL on my PC when I try to send an email, the problem appears to be that the AOL servers are immediately rejecting the FIOS IP address used for my outgoing email, which I assume is the same for both my PC and iPad-originated email.
I can receive email normally and send an email to my self normally on both devices.

I don't think they have ever been able to send to AOL but has recently become an issue as they have customers with AOL email accounts ...
Any ideas? I have checked blacklists and we aren't on there ... they can email everyone else without a problem.
Many thanks,
Graham. It is the same issue when they reply to an aol email address. The recipients have been called to check they haven't received it and they haven't.
