N95 Battery Indicator on 31.0.017

Hi,
I got a new N95 and installed software 31.0.017 via NSU.
I noticed that the battery indicator stays at 100% a long time and suddenly there are low battery warnings. I searched several forums and found out that this bug exists for a long time.
Is Nokia not willing to fix this? A working battery indicator is very important for me.
Regards,
Benny

ok to me it sounds like u r phone needs to either be reflashed or taken to u r local service center for service
as ive had the 31.0.017 for a long time now and have no issues with it whatsoever
so my bet would be to try and update it again
and see if that solves it
it could also be your wireless connection is causeing some fault or the wireless password is wrong

  • N95 Battery Indicator Issue

    Hello,
It seems that my battery indicator for my new N95 has stoped indicating anything! Keeps showing a fully loaded battery until it completely drains from usage...
Has anyone else had this problem? I already upgraded the firmware and the problem remains...
    Any advice or comment?
    Thank you in advance,
    Ricardo

    No problem my friend.
If you have already flashed your phone to the V11 software that was released a few weeks ago, then just follow this procedure again and put the same software on the phone again. However, after you flash it, perform a factory reset.
Go: Tools --> Settings --> General --> Factory settings.
This should clean out and reset the phone back to the way it was first delivered.
You will have to re-install your maps again and put all of your software on again, but I did this and things seem to be working for me.
    Good luck.

  • N95 battery indicator problem. I'm becoming desper...

Hello. Two months ago I bought a new n95. I was so happy with my phone until three days ago I realized that the battery indicator was the whole time at full. And it kept indicating full battery until the phone shut down. So I decided to perform a firmware reinstall and hard reset. Immediately after the firmware reinstall the phone was indicating normally (only three bars). But yesterday in the night, after charging it, again the problem came up, and now my phone is again indicating full battery eventough I have used GPS, music, calls and everything to low battery down. I can't be reinstalling every time, something's wrong with my phone.
Can somebody help me? I don't know what to do, I'm really becoming desperate.
This phone never fell, or hit; in fact, it was treated like a diamond.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help and sorry for my english.
    Mauricio.

Hmmm .. I would suspect hardware: either the phone's not reading the battery power properly or there's a problem with the battery. Despite it starting to work after the reset, I can't see it being software somehow.
I would take the phone to a service center and see if you can have them test your phone with other batteries and your battery with other phones - make sure your battery's not fully charged when you take it in.

  • Battery indicator on N95 v21.0.016

    Hello all:
Ever since I updated to the new v21.0.016 firmware, the battery indicator on my N95 acts kind of strange.
For two days it shows a full charge (seven bars) and suddenly, in less than a couple of hour, goes down from seven bars to one bar (no WIFI, no bluetooth, no calls).
Has anyone experienced the same?. It looks like an annoying bug in the new firmware...
    ........N70, E61, E90, N95, E71, E72, N8

I'd like to update my status. After the upgrade to version 21, the phone couldn'd be connected to the pc too. I got it to a NCC and they said that the phone's board had a problem and had to be sent abroad to nokia to replace it... I'd like to add the following too. At NCC I was told that the update that nokia provides through Nokia Update Manager is not the actual update. If we want to update the phone we will have to take it at a NCC because the update they have is three times bigger in size and it's the full one. (v21 is 166MB through NUM, and the update the NCC has is about 300). When I asked why is this happening they said: "If the full update was provided over the net, then there wouldn't be any reason for the NCC to exit". That's a shame. This conversation took place in Greece. I don't know what other NCC say, or if this is the policy of Nokia in order to get money (they said that the update would cost me 15,5 Euros).
PS The phone was bought 3 months ago, but if they "thought" that i had updated the phone through other software (?) I would have to pay for the actual update anyway....

  • Strange behaviour of battery indicator

It seems, my battery finally has reached its full capacity. Three to four days of normal use is acceptable for me.
But the capacity indicator is worrying me. It shows full capacity for about two days, then it starts rushing down to empty in one day....
"Hardware" is a N95-1 with FirmWare Version 21
Is this normal or am i just spoiled by the very accurate and predictable indicators of my older Nokia phones?

What you are getting is pretty much the way it is with most phones nowadays. There is nothing wrong with your phone. The battery indicator is only a guide and should be used as such. Half bars does not mean half charge.

  • N73 ME battery indicator problem

    Hi everybody,
I'm happy user of N73 ME but recently I've noticed starnge behaviour of my phone. The battery indicator remains in the same position as after reboot. When its fully charged it will show 100% till it discharge and turn off. If I restart it will change to current charge value. I applied the newest FW, hard erased - it didn't help.
Do you know which part is responsible for this?
    Thanks in advanced,
    Marek

It happens on all Nokia phones i think.
If i web browse for a couple of minutes it will still be full bars but when i turn off then on it will show near the correct status.
On my old 6280 the bars dropped from full to 1 bar.
Nothing can *exactly* recognise the batteries status, It's just an estimate or near the actual status of the battery.Message Edited by 6280 on 02-Oct-200708:58 PM

  • 6280, Getting HOT and Battery Indicator

    Hi,
I've discusssed this 'HOT' thing before but the only answer i got was to go 12KM for a Nokia Service Centre.
Basically after i play a few games and take pictures and make a 40 minute call the phone gets hot, The keypad feels like it's going to blow up into my face!
And Before anyone suggests a NSC Or taking it back to my nearest 3 store(500 yards away) Is this completly normal for this phone to get hot when using it?
    And the next question!
The battery Indicator, After i tiny tiny bit of use it currently says battery full, but it says on the 3 network website, 'Manufactures recommend you turn your phone off and on regularly for maximum performance' or what ever it says, Before i turn the phone off the battery is full right? but when i put off then put on when it comes to the homescreen it goes to 1 bar, this is ridiculos and annoying.
Why can't it show low in the first place? i mean really this is stupid i don't know when to charge the Phone!
    Thanks!

Don't tell me you haven't heard about the 3UK branded 6280 that went up in smoke recently...
The extra heat is usually due to the fact it's being used on a 3G/UTMS network as it requires more power than using a GSM network.
As you can't lock your handset to GSM (yet another reason I'll never use 3UK), there is not much you can do about it.
The battery indicator problem is common to most Nokia's I've seen.
First use the search to see if your question has already been answered...

  • IPhone 5 Battery Indicator and Reboot issues

    Hello Apple community forum,
I have an iPhone 5 that I purchased approximately 20 months ago. It has worked flawlessly and been well taken care of. Only until recently, maybe 3 weeks after I updated to IOS update 7.1.1, I have been having a plethora of issues and now the phone is virtual useless. I have not jailbroken it or have had any third party hardware installed. It all started when I plugged in my Apple lightening cable for charging and an error appeared "unsupported charging cable". From there I have experienced the following problems:
Battery indicator stuck while charging at any various percentage or during normal use and standby. Only a reboot will provide current charge status.
    Extremely fast battery drain.
Unexpected reboots at various intervals or while accessing Apps or browsers. Sometimes very frequent. One day had at least 60 reboots. one right after the other.
    Cannot turn on or off
Shuts off when I put it in my pocket.
    BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)
Screen exhibits lines or odd characters shuts down or reboots.
Time and date at different positions post boot.
Log file full of errors. (Panaic.ips bug type 110 | awdd Wireless | ResetCounter bug type 115| TCCService bug type 167 | Log-Aggregated bug type 193)
The update worked great on the phone and it seemed faster and the battery lasted a bit longer than usual. However, now it is a different story. I was able to backup my phone and offload all my photos on its good day. I was reading the support site and following a few of these forums. I follow the soft and hard rest procedures and even restored the phone back to factory default (DFU mode). It does seem to run a bit better in default without many apps on it but it still exhibits all the above issues. I bit the bullet and went to the Apple store to talk to one of there G men. He acted surprised and gave me the Apple trained verbal run around. He ran the diagnostic and stated that my battery did not even register as being in the system. From there he opened the phone, inspected it for damage and re-attached the battery and taped it back down. BTW, they hosed my screen cover. Nothing is ever free. They did offer to replace my battery for $80 but did not feel that would solve this problem. If anyone has had this issue and did have a new battery installed, please let me know how that worked out.
I wonder if this latest update exposes some type of hardware flaw that was previously fixed or just a bug(s) in the software code. Yet, Apple does not seem to acknowledge there is a problem let alone advise to any upcoming fix. It does not seem that Apple really cares about my little bit of business. If anyone has any ideas or experience, please let me know. This is frustrating and owning too much of my time. Thanks Apple!

If tried techniques to get the battery to act right, such as rebooting by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, and those things haven't helped, take the iPhone and iPad to the Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test them to see if there is a hardware fault.  Do that before the warranty runs out so you are covered.

  • Since upgrade to 10.4.4, no sleep, no battery indicator, no airport

    1. iBook will no longer go to sleep, not from apple menu, not from power button, not from closing lid. Tried PMU reset. No luck.
    2. Since upgrade no battery indicator exists in menu bar. No longer an option to have it there in system preferences. Where did this go?
    3. Since software update done after upgrade Airport card no longer works. Internet connect says it's on. System profiler says it's off. Indicator is in menu bar, but no signal bars. Tried PMU reset, deleting locations, resetting wireless router. Other airport cards continue to work fine in our other Macs from the same router.
Using Classic is not an option on this machine. Help please.

    Hi,
In these situations it can pay to go to this list http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ and get the Combo installer to run the Update again (Unless of course you told Software Update to keep the .Pkg)
The actual Update will come with link ( In case http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1044.html ) which can be looked at for further info.

  • Battery indicator is stuck at 100%

After I upgraded by BB Z10 to 10.2.1.2102 / 2141, the battery indicator always shows 100%. Even when battery is getting depleted. Downside is that the phone suddenly shuts down when it's battery is completed discharged. Before shutting down it moemtarily shows the battery indicator color as red (empty), beeps and shuts down.
Have tried a number of things like taking battery out while charging and replacing, deleted a number of apps but no use. I think its an OS problem.

  • MacBook Pro won't turn on or charge or show battery indicator

Yesterday I plugged my phone into my MacBook Pro 13" using a knockoff USB cord (my charger), my phone wouldn't connect and then the screen on my MacBook just went black and it completely shut off. I tried pressing the power button to turn it on and nothing happened. I checked the battery indicator on the side and no lights came on (not even the blinking red one that tells you your macbook's dead or low battery). I plugged in my MacBook charger and it was green for a few seconds and then the light shut off. I unplugged the charger from the socket and then plugged it back into my MacBook and the light starting blinking a faint green and orange and it still would not turn on. I let it sit overnight without being plugged into the charger and today it won't connect to the charger at all and still won't turn on. Any ideas?

  • Why can't apple put a simple audible low battery indicator on the iphone?

I get so tired of having my iphone shut down on me mid-conversation. My screen is black and up to my ear; my phone is in my purse while I'm talking on my blue tooth and also has a black screen; or my phone is on my hip with a black screen while I talk with my earphones. How in the heck I am going to READ a low batter indicator on my phone behind a black screen? That information would be very helpful if I weren't on my blue tooth. Actually, that 2% low battery notification would very helpful to me if my phone weren't up to my ear with a black screen. Why can't they put a simple audible low battery indicator on the phone?

" How in the heck I am going to READ a low batter indicator on my phone behind a black screen?"
    You cannot.
" Why can't they put a simple audible low battery indicator on the phone?"
They can.  They have simply chosen not to do so.

  • Apple Bluetooth / Wireless Keyboard Low-Battery Indicator?

    Hi All,
Does the iPad show a low-battery indicator when the Apple wireless keyboard is running out of juice? I know OS X is supposed to, but not sure about iOS. I plan to use my keyboard for meetings and depositions where I'd be in a tight spot if I ran out of juice unexpectedly.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
No, but, "The Apple Wireless Keyboard requires just two AA batteries — one less than the previous model. And its intelligent power management system conserves battery life. *So when you’re not using the keyboard, it automatically powers down. The instant you start typing, it turns back on*. Use the on/off switch when you're away from your computer for a long time."
    From here. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC184LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
Carry a spare set of AA batteries just in case.
