N95, Bluesoleil = serial port service

N95 firmware 10.0.018
Bluesoleil v2.3
PC Suite 6.81.13
Is Bluetooth serial port service available for N95?
I tried to use serial port service in Bluesoleil 2.3 but only dial-up networking, object push and file transfer services are available. SPP is not.
On the other hand, when synchronizing contacts and calendar with Outlook by using PC Suite, I can clearly see in Bluesoleil panel that serial connection service is established (icon turns green in Bluesoleil indicating service in use). Bluesoleil pops a balloon messages
* My Bluetooth COM port 15 (COM15) is connected to remote device.
* Connected (COM15)
So, service is available from N95, but I can not use it from Bluesoleil alone?
Is there a way to use serial port in applications other than PC Suite?

I updated firmware to 12.0.013, and the problem is still here.
Does anyone have any idea?

    Greeetings to All,
I have a big problem, when i connect my n79 using bluesoleil v3.0, i got File transfer, dialup networking and object push services only.
If i try to start serial port service to connect my n79 to a serial port it displayes error "can not start service".
i have tried various bluesoleil versions but the problem remains same everytime. on the other hand i can connect my sony k750i to a serial port without any problem.
can someone tell me how to connect n79 to a serial port using bluesoleil
    OR
Does N79 not support bluetooth serial port connectivity?
or is there any other way to connect n79 to a serial port using blesoleil and my bluetooth dongle on a WINXP SP2 system?
    Thanks in Advance

Yes, PCSuite supports a great deal of Bluetooth drivers. These are all built in so, give it a try.

  • Cannot delete bluetooth serial port! going crazy! help!

    Brief background-
I want to sync my Treo 680 with my intel iMac. I have never gotten BT sync to work with any mac or any palm I've ever had. But this time, somehow I did.
    And now it's dead again.
I have given up on troubleshooting, and just want to delete all bluetooth profiles, devices, etc that I have created, and to start fresh.
The thing is, they won't delete.
In the bluetooth section of System Prefs, there is a sharing tab.
    Under that I have:
    Bluetooth file transfer
    bluetooth file exchange
    bluetooth-PDA-sync
    PalmBT
the first three are not delete-able since they came with the system, I guess.
"palmBT" is one I made, that is a duplicate of bluetooth-pda-sync.
I just want to delete it altogether. They are both turned off, but it doesn't matter. if i try to turn either one on, I get an error. I forget the exact words- something about transport monitor could not complete my request.
Not sure if this is an OS problem, or a palm hotsync problem. But like I said, I DID work for a while. I have no idea what may have changed to break it.
So I select "palmBT" and click "remove serial port service" and get this error:
"You are attempting to remove a port which is in use. Quit the application using this port and try again."
What does this mean? The port most certainly is not 'in use'! If it were, I wouldn't be here looking for help! There are NO applications running- what am I supposed to quit?!
    Help!!!

Ooh, god I hope not... just for this?! If that's the case I'll give up on BT sync and just stick with USB.
if I do that, it will be the THIRD time I have had to wipe this hard drive since I got the computer in MARCH.
I am still not fully recovered from the last time (but at least I have a backup now)
there must be something else to try- anyone?

  • Why does a standalone program created in Labview 8.5 try connecting to the internet when the program only reads data through the serial port? Firewalls object to progams that contact the internet without permission.

why does a standalone program created in Labview 8.5 try connecting to the internet when the program only reads data through the serial port? Firewalls object to progams that contact the internet without permission.
The created program is not performing a command I have written when it tries to connect to the internet, it must be Labview that is doing it. How do I stop this from happening?
Any help would be very appreciated.

    It looks that way..
"When LabVIEW starts it contacts the service
locator to removes all services for itself. This request is triggering
the firewall. This is done in case there were services that were not
unregistered the last time LabVIEW executed- for example from VIs that
    didn't clean up after themselves"
This is not yet fixed in LV2009.

  • Strange init serial port issue

    Hello:
My Labview application is reading data from the COM1..COM6 ports (I have
added a MOXA serial board to get 4 more ports). I am using RS232 reading
on each port (old legacy Vis, 9m long communication cables). The devices to which I am connected are weigh scale that continuously send weight readings to the Labview app through 3-wires RS232 (RD, TX and GND). Everything goes well for hours and hours. Then after a while (maybe after power is cut and restarted on the PC side?) I restart the PC and launch Labview. If I try to init the serial port that I use to connect to the weigh scale I get an error 37. I also tried to init thru HyperTerminal right after restarting the PC and could not. The only thing that works to unlock the port is
    this:
    - unplug the weigh scale communication cable from the Moxa connector
    - restart the PC
    - relaunch LV or HyperTerminal
Unplug then restart Labview or HyperTerminal is not sufficient.
To the same Moxa board I connect other devices such as PLC or PC through serial ports but never see any problems even after restarting the Host PC. So there is something strange with weigh scales (I tried two different brands) but what? I cannot use the built-in serial port as it is already in use by another application.
Does someone out there have an explanation and ways to avoid this very annoying problem?
Thank you very much, I am completely lost,
    Christophe

    Chris:
Thank you for your help. I investigated the problem further and this is what I found. I am still clueless so if you think of other tracks that I might explore I would be glad to hear them.
    - Hard boot (power off, remove power cord, restart) does not release the port
    - I change the port ie. I used the built-in COM1 PC port, got the communication, could read char, then restarted the PC and fell into the same trap: could not init the port (Labview). I did the same after restarting and could not open the port with HyperT. Hence it is not a Moxa issue.
    - The question is: how can I resolve that, is it an HW or SW issue, a combination of the two, has it got something to deal with WIndows 2K, are there some tools that allow to diagnose whi
ch service or application grasps the serial port during the boot sequence? Or is it a problem during the shutdown sequence that the port is not released properly?
    TIA,
    Christophe

  • Computer freezes while reading from serial port

My computer freezes when i tried to read from a serial port for a longer period of time such as 10 hours. I always close the serial port after reading. please, help me solve this problem

I too experienced a similar problem twice on my machine and I have no idea how to stop it because it is so intermittent and I cannot replicate it.
Perhaps I can offer some clues.
The Labview screen cannot be stopped and some parts of Windows appears frozen. Oddly enough I can switch to the block diagram but thats about all I can do. The LV stop button will indicate a mouse click on it but the VI does not stop. iT also cannot be closed.
Even the reset button and power button on the PC does not work. I am forced to power down the PC (pull the plug) to get back control.
I believe it is related to a visa call to my serial Balance.
ANyway no solution but hopefully some clues.

Device Config Assistant lists the ports as standard 16550 UARTS, which is correct - ASUS mention nothing 'special' about them.
prtconf shows both ports with asy not attached.
devfsadm does not change that. ports command has no effect.

  • DigitalMultiMeter at serial port

    Hi all,
i´m searching a solution to read out some data from a DigitalMultiMeter
"Voltcraft M-3850D" at the serialport (1200bit/s,N,7,2). I have tried it
with the standart serial vi´s, but without success. The DMM waits for a "D"
command and answers with a series of 14bytes. I also have tried it with the
IN & OUTport vi´s, only with a little success, because there ist no
    syncronisation between pc and DMM.
Has perhaps somebody one solution for me?
Perhaps has someone this DMM with LV on active service.
    MfG / best regards

There was a similar question yesterday. Check out my answer at http://exchange.ni.com/servlet/ProcessRequest?RHIVEID=101&RPAGEID=135&HOID=50650000000800000000230000&UCATEGORY_0=_49_%24_6_&UCATEGORY_S=0. I would also add that you should always configure the serial port inside of the VI before doing a read or write.

  • Storagetek 6140 & serial port

I'm trying to access with a PC, using the serial port, to the Storagetek 6140's VT 100 console. I connected the ps2-6-pins-to-rj45 cable (530-3544-01) + RJ45-DB9 DTE adapter (530-3100-01), on Controller A and to com1 of my Windows pc. I downloaded TTerm (so I can send the ctrl-break), I configured com port like 6140's manual, but with no fortune. When I send ctrl-break nothing happens. I change the pc, com, I controlled the cable, but it's all ok. I think I made some mistake, but where?
    Thanks

from there I was able to hit alt-break and it gave me the options of S for service menu or space for baud rate
I his S (capital S) and it asked me for a password, but since I wanted to reset the Array password that wasn't immediately useful. but I figure I can google or ask Sun for that. We are a little further on at
least,.I think you are mixing the different passwords. The password which is requested when you type "S" is kra16wen and it cannot be reset. This password is documented in the customer documentations for the 6140.
The array password is a different one, it can be reset by accessing the Service Interface Menu. It can be set and/or modified using CAM. Everytime you proceed with modifications on the array, CAM will read this password in the array and compare it with the one CAM has in its internal DB. If the password is similar, CAM proceeds with the modification, however if it is different, CAM will report an error. If you do not remember this password, you can use the Service Interface Menu to reset it. If you remember and want to change it or get CAM in sync with the real password in the array, you can use CAM to do that.
    Hope this clears things.

  • Unable to delete serial port (advanced bluetooth prefs)

I was messing around with the advanced Bluetooth preferences and added a couple serial ports to this list.  But when I select the items, the remove button remains inactive.  How do I delete these?  (Note: checking the checkboxes doesn't change the state of the remove button.)

    Hi ChouDoufu,
did you get a reply, or find a way to fix this problem? I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. Moreover, if I go to "My Bluetooth Places" and "View My Bluetooth services", I can see the various services, and even enable some of them such as File Transfer or Bluetooth Imaging. However, I cannot enable Bluetooth Serial Port, which is what I'd need to be able to connect my Palm with my Lenovo. By the way, it works fine with my other computers, just not with this Lenovo T60p...

  • Servlet that talks to Serial Port

    Everyone,
I am having trouble getting a servlet to talk to a serial port. I am using the Comms extension package from Sun. The servlet fails to initialize and I cannot figure out if it is a security issue or a class loader issue. If it is a security issue can someone tell me a quit and dirty way to turn security off. At this stage, I have control of both client and server and I am not concerned with security. I am using the Sun System Java Application Server 8 to deploy the servlet. Below is the trace

You could try and open up the permissions on the appserver and see if the error goes away as a test. You can do this by editing the domains/domain1/config/server.policy, saving the file and restarting the app server.

    Hi,
I just installed the motherboard and did a fresh install of win2k sp3. I've installed the latest BIOS, Intel inf and everything from the windows update service but it's still not able to install the PCI serial port. Can anyone clue me into what I need to do?
    Thanks,

    Dear Subhash,
If your Ci is running then http://hostname:port should give you a start page, but if you login to perticular new instane with http://new host:new port and if this is returning some error then we can categorize as we have problem in new instance.
Can you please paste .out logs from your work dir for new instance.
and chek the memory settings according to following notes:
    Note 696410 - Java VM settings for EP6 on J2EE 6.20

  • Establish a connection with the serial port on ST2510

    Hello guys,
I have one question about connection on ST2510 with the serial port.
Is it possible to get the following command prompt during connection on ST2510 through serial port (as described in the document 820-0015-11):
    "Enter password to access shell:"
    instead of
"Enter password to access Service Interface (60 sec timeout):"
    ?

    Thanks a lot,
...and how is it possible to get "Enter password to access shell:" instead of "Enter password to access Service Interface (60 sec timeout):" (wrong cable connection, etc.)?
I ask about it, because one guy said me, that he tried to establish a connection according to the document 820-0015-11.
But instead of "Enter password to access Service Interface (60 sec timeout):" he has got "Enter password to access shell:" and the default password kra16wen is incorrect.I won't indicate how to get "Enter password to access shell" because this is a special access as indicated in my previous post. However in order to get "Enter password to access Service Interface (60 sec timeout):" you need to press "S" (capital S) within 5 sec and then the password is "kra16wen".
