N95 bluetooth services, and firmware

Phone: N95
Firmware: 10.0.018
Nokia PC Suite: 6.81.13.0
Problem:
- I am trying to use N95 as a bluetooth control for my PC. There is a Java software (Moccatroller) that has server/PC Java application and client/phone applcation. However, I can not establish valid (serial?) connection with that server application via bluetooth. On the other hand, PC Suite works fine: synchronising, transfer of music and pictures, etc - works perfectly.
I am not using Bluesoleil, but I tried it because i wanted to see if i can discover where is the problem. using Bluesoleil I could not find any bluetooth services of myu N95. It says something about not being able to detect any services from my N95. Other phones work ok and have servces such as object push, serial com, etc. Then, I unistalled Bluesoleil and tried to see if some services are available from classic b.tooth software (? one that came with PC Suite or my btooth USB dogle). However, only DUN service is available with my N95. I tried with other phone, and one more service was availabe - Serial Port (SPP) COM11. I believe that is the service i need to run the remote control software i mentioned in previous paragraph.
Questions:
1. Is this the normal behaviour of N95?
2. How can I make more bluetooth services available from my N95 (specially serial port)?
3. Will firmware upgrade solve my problem?
4. What are new features and improvements in firmware 12 compared to version 10 that i have installed.
Thank you for the answers.

It's been a while since you posted this, so you have probably already stumbled on this solution.
I have a Jabra Cruiser rather than a Jabra Freeway, but I expect the same trick will work.
When I get out of my vehicle, I slide the switch on the Jabra to the off position. When I return to the vehicle, my BlackBerry automatically connects to the BlackBerry Music Gateway when I start the vehicle. When I turn on the Jabra after that, it autoconnects. Music goes to the Gateway, but phone calls go to the Jabra.

  • This version of AirPort Utility requires this AirPort Extreme use firmware version 7.3.1 or later. Go to AirPort Service and Support for more information.

I am trying to update my Airport Extreme. I go into the Airport Utility and this is the message attached I get when clicking on it.
"This version of AirPort Utility requires this AirPort Extreme use firmware version 7.3.1 or later. Go to AirPort Service and Support for more information." That;s it.
I guess I can hard reset it, but this seems weird. Any advice would be nice.
    Thank you.

Dear Bob, I have same problem:

  • Can someone hack into my MacBook Pro even it's not connected to the internet and both Wi-fi and Bluetooth services are off?

    Hi,
Need to know if someone can hack into my MacBook Pro even if it's not connected to the internet and both Wi-fi and Bluetooth services are off? Can someone enter my system even if the settings at System Preferences > Sharing are all off?

    Yes,
Through Bonjour, Apple's open source zero configuration networking.
    https://developer.apple.com/bonjour/
    http://flylib.com/books/en/2.434.1.105/1/
And you can't turn it off or your computer won't work, however saving grace is the hacker has to be pretty close to your machine to do it.

  • E71 maps and firmware updates

Dear all After updating the firmware through nokia suite and after upgrading the GPS software to OVI maps the device is not able to find any satelite. This can be seen in the bar that shows the satelite status which is inactive in OVI maps whereas in the previous version the satelite status showed  (the greener the better!). This is also confirmed by the fact that it failes to locate my position. I returned the device to the service operator to fix the problem of not finding satelites (my initial thoughts were that there was a problem with the GPS receiver. They returned the device with upgraded software but with the previous version of maps. with this version the gps worked well. AFter that i updated the maps version (OVI v3) and the problem returned of not finding any satelites.
I appologise for the long text but is there any solution?

    Dear Meriolasa,
Sorry for the trouble.I have gone through the similar trouble with the same phone.Maybe this will help:
Go to your ''Tools'' then ''Settings'' then ''General'',then ''Positioning'',then positioning methods.Check ''Integrated GPS'' only the rest of the methods like'' Bluetooth'',Assisted, and Network based uncheck. Make sure your service provider sent you gps enabling settings.Go to ''GPS'' click maps which you just downloaded,go to an open space without any hindrance, open the maps. It will ask you'' go on line?'' click ''ok''.Give it few minutes as it configures the setlite around. You'll then start seeing green lights on the bottom right.Search any place, address you want to either walk or drive to. I believe this may help you.You do not need a licence for this. In case, you still have difficulties, you can ask or you can also call direct the Nokia support centre near you!!!! You are blessed

Do you mean why there's an improvement after removing the journal files?
first of all, I hope that you know what systemd journal is, and what files you just deleted.
systemd journal stores all system logs in database files in /var/log/journal/
every time you boot up your system, journald will log the entire boot process and stores in its database (and continue logging of course).
over time the journal will get huge (unless you limit its size) and fragmented, which could slow down reading and writing from the it greatly.
so, if writing the log during the boot process slows down greatly, it will certainly have an detrimental effect on overall boot speed.
    I hope that makes sense
I think I saw this mentioned on some systemd TODO list, so developers should aware of this and possibly trying to figure out some workaround.
In the meantime limiting journal size is probably a good idea.
If you happened to be using btrfs, disabling COW for files in /var/log/journal and 'autodefrag' mount option may also help some.
also defragmenting the files in /var/log/journal if your file system supports it
First of all, thanks to your very clear explanation!
English is not my mother tongue, so I think I express me in a wrong way.Sorry for this!
What I exactly want to mean is that is it possible to make booting more faster?

  • Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 make N95 8GB hang and connecte...

My N95 8GB hangs and restarts automatically every 5-10 mins. My Device manager says, I have v 31.2.2008. And as soon as I connects to the Ovi Suite and my phone get added to ovi suite and when ready to sync, phone gets restarted automatically and keeps repeating and never get a chance to sync with Ovi Suite for the first time. I heard pretty bad about the Nokia services that they take all your time and with no output and it now proved when tried installing Ovi Suite.
Please make sure your services have highest quality and some regression test done across your software and phones. Please don't waste users valuable time.
    Regards,
    Kora.

    Hi Kora,
Is your Handset gets restarted automatically only if its connected with your OVi Suite?
If yes, Please provide your Mobile details (*#0000#) and your PC details.
Go to OVI suite -> help -> About nokia OVI suite -> System information. Paste the information...
Also are you trying to connect your handset thru' cable or thru' bluetooth.

  • N95 bluetooth drivers for Windows 7

I've got Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 installed and working quite happily.
The latest PC Suite is also installed and working and has installed all the USB drivers and devices for my N95.
Over bluetooth, however, the netbook recognises that the N95 can support the following services:-
    DUN
    Imaging Responder
    Nokia OBEX PC Suite Services
    Nokia SyncML Server
    Remote Control
    SyncML DM Client
    SyncMLClient
The only one I can get working is DUN, and that's using the generic "Standard modem over bluetooth" microsoft driver.
I tried to install the N95 nokia bluetooth modem driver, but it says "device cannot start", so I'm back with the generic driver.
Any ideas how I can get the rest working, or if there are proper drivers anywhere?
    Thanks!

I am having the same problem but with a Nokia 5800, having the following show up as not installed correctly
    Imaging Responder
    Nokia OBEX PC Suite Services
    Nokia SyncML Server
    Remote Control
    SyncML DM Client
    SyncMLClient
I have managed to manually install
    Imaging Responder
    Remote Control
But the rest are impossible to install without the correct drivers, I have a Toshiba Bluetooth adapter and have installed the software and still no luck,. I have ended up going into Devices and Printers, right click on the phone and select properties then services and untick
    Nokia OBEX PC Suite Services
    Nokia SyncML Server
    SyncML DM Client
    SyncMLClient
I guess the bluetooth dongle does not support these services? Does anyone have special Windows 7 x64 drivers for the above services to become active? or shed some more light on this issue?
    Cheers

  • I am having trouble getting my My Mac Book Pro 15" Retina to wake up with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse while Docked in a Hengedock vertical docking station.

I am having trouble getting my My Mac Book Pro 15" Retina to wake up with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse while Docked in a Hengedock vertical docking station. The Keyboard and mouse work great with the laptop lid open but when closed in the docking station the bluetooth signal does not seem to transmit.  Is there a setting that can be changed to allow an Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to wake the computer while docked?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • My new backbeat GO 2 is not recognized by bluetooth service on my ipad mini with ios 7.0.4! Could you help me?

My new backbeat GO 2 headset is not recognized by bluetooth service of my new ipad mini with ios 7.0.4! It doesńt appear in the list of bluetooth devices. It was working on previous versions! What happens? Could someone help me? Thanks!

There are a ton of posts on this already if you search the forums. In short...
Delete all Bluetooth profiles from your device. Do the same if your Bluetooth devices allow for that.
    Setting > Reset Network Settings
Reset your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
    Repair your devices
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Bluetooth mouse and keyboard do not work

I purchased an iMac G5 about 6 months ago. I got it with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I have had trouble with it from day 1. Apple had me replace the logic unit, and it worked for a couple of weeks. Then as soon as the 90-day warranty for complimentary service ran out, it began working sporadically. Now it doesn't work at all. It says I don't have a bluetooth module installed or attached to my computer (which is what it said before the logic unit was replaced. The computer works fine with a USB mouse and keyboard. Had I known bluetooth was so tempermental and difficult, I sure wouldn't have got it with my computer.
Unless there is a smart person out there who knows what is going on, I guess I need to buy a new USB keyboard and mouse. Anybody interested in buying a bluetooth keyboard and mouse cheap?

    Russell,
The warranty period on your mac is 1 year. The complimentry phone service period is 90 days unless you have a hardware problem. I'd say you likely have a hardware problem and will not be charged for the phone call.
    I'd suggest 2 things:
    1. Sign up for Applecare as has been recommended countless times.
    2. Make the call to tech support and see what they say about your problem.
    Good Luck,
    John

  • Web services and e print not working on 7520e

After the update it instructed me to turn off my printer so the update could take effect which I did but my printer would not turn back on. leaving it overnight it was the same the next day so I had to unplug it from the wall outlet. I lost my internet connection and no matter what I did I could not get it to connect.I called cloud services who put in a network address of 192.168.223.1 and hung up leaving me with no printer and sending me an email to get my ISP server to fix.
I called HP support and they got it connected just fine but when I try to log into my printers web page it still has my
hp email address but when I try to get to the web page it leads me to Launch HP network check.
on the front of my printer it says unable to connect to the internet, enter a proxy address, my server does not use one.
I tried to disable web services and then enabled them again hoping to get a new code but no luck. In my own network it has the last digit different to the one being used and set as a static IP address . I was not able to scroll any Apps before any of this happened, is the server down or has anyone any ideas how to fix this. has anyone else got the same problem. The schedulled Apps printed off just fine before this.

    Hello dylon,
Thank you for being an active member of the HP support community.  I understand that your Photosmart 7520 printer is indicating that it is not connected since doing a firmware update  last week.
Please start by setting a manual IP address and manual DNS servers.  Please use this post with the steps and screen shots on how to do this.  The screen shots are for the Photosmart 7510 but the steps are the same.
If you find that you are still unable to connect to web services please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • Is it possible to know which bluetooth services are available with a MIDlet

...Bluetooth Services like Serial Port Support, Obex File Transfer, Dial-up Networking...
I've already try to search with "getProperty()" (api.version, n max. of devices...) but it awlays return "null" !!!!. I'm a beginner in j2me BLUETOOTH. Thanks!

    Varies from phone to phone.
I believe it is recommended to use a port between
16001 and 16999 on a J2me app as these are almost
    always free.
In my opinion the best way to find out what will work
and what won't is to create a small app which will
try to create an SMS connection on a specified port
(specified through something like a textbox) and
which will display something indicative if an
IOException is thrown during the process of
    creation.
Most manufacturers usually also have documentation on
this on their developer sites...hi i have a similar problem with they guy above
i have installed a camera network wich has acces to web from port 8080 i have access from any computer that has internet but when i connect with the java app provided from the cameras company it throws "java.lang.securityexception untrusted midlet attempted to connect to a restricted port" i was wondering if i change te port tha i connect will i have access from that program?? and if yes wich port should i use? i am asking because its not easy to have access to the router to change the port forwarding settings thank you in advance

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
