N95 connectivity with Tom Tom Go 730

My new N95 is not compatible with the recent  GO Tom Tom 730 bluetooth.  I am unable to use the phone using the hands free, it does work initially then the Tom Tom freezes and you have to reset it. Does anyone know how to get round this problem

Hi, I bought my father a TOM TOM GO 720 for father days and we want to use the N95 for hands free with BT in the car. I can pair it and pass the contacts to it, but nothing works...keeps going around in circles asking for "xxxx" and says the function is not available on the TOM TOM...I have tried everything except updating HW SW...As the last time I updated the FW we lost all the contacts and setting.....
Please help if you can. Thanks J

  • N95 connection with Toyota TNS510 Nav disconnects ...

Recently bought Toyota Verso incl. a SatNav TNS510. The N95 should be able to work with th BT connection according all spec-sheets.
The sheets mention older Firmwire versions (I am using the V31.0.017).
After the initial connection, it is interrupted after about 20 min. (sometimes when signal when battery is full loaded).
The reconnection after restarting fails and can only be accomplished by simultaneous connection of TNS510 and N95. Still the connection is only temporary.
I tried a 6300 model and this one does not give any problem.
I expect a bouncing answer from Toyota and it must be due to the N95 seeing other phones don't have this problem. I can't find any issues by googling.
Maybe someone knows and it is just about a setting?
    Bart

    Bart,
If you check the Toyota compatibility site, you will see that the N95 doesn't work with TNS510. Check this site: http://techdoc.toyota-europe.com/bluetooth/search.aspx
I face exactly the same problem when pairing my E71 with my TNS510. It can connect when setting it up, but next time entering the car is disconnects, so I have to start up the connection procedure manually each time.
Also, I face that it disconnects without notice after e.g. ½ hour or so from time to time. Also, when receiving a SMS it disconnects.
Talking to Nokias support in Denmark, they are aware that with E71 there are a number of connectivity issues via Bluetooth, but despite of their friendly associates, they are not able to solve this. The best advice the Nokia associate could provide was to contact some of their business centre, who install the car-kit equipments, to see if some of them working with this in practice had solved the issue.
I did - and spoke to 5 of them - and two of them said, that the E71 runs with Bluetooth 2.0, and if the TNS510 runs Bluetooth 1.2 - it makes problems. Despite that 2.0 units should be backwards compatible, - it won't, they said.
I have tried to connect with a Nokia 6500 to my TNS510, and it works perfect. Checking the technical specs at Nokias website - it says the 6500 runs BT 1.2!!!.
Checking the Toyota website - there is a compatibility site, where you can check if your mobile works with your TNS510. A green "check" if OK, and a red cross if it doesn't. Checking my E71, it has red crosses for all the 8-10 features that apply, and the 6500? - a nice green check!.
Picking up a random list of all mobile phones with red crosses - they are BT 2.0, and the ones with green checks - they are BT 1.2.
Back into the TNS510 250-pager manual - no info about BT version, but my - in any cases premier class -Toyota dealer checked it out with the Danish Toyota importer, and the answer was, - ? Yes, you are right: BT 1.2!!
So, I'm convinced that it is here the issue is based. The BT 1.2 in the TNS 510 simply doesn't work with the BT 2.0 in the E71!
The Nokia Business centre - both - said to me, that it was quite unlikely that the TNS510 was running BT 1.2, as it is quite new - launched in the end 2008/start 2009 - and this older technology was left years ago, in accordance to the specialists.
Back asking my super Toyota dealer - he spoke to the importer - to find out two things: 1. Why it runs BT 1.2?, and 2: Is it possible to get the TNS510 upgraded into BT 2.0? (because in accordance to Nokia you can't downgrade your E71 from BT 2.0 to BT 1.2).
The answer to running 1.2. was, that the navigation system - which is a part of TNS510 is connected to the engine computer system, and allowing the BT 2.0 to the Bluetooth part of the TNS510 it would create potential risk for interruption in the engine computer system - from virus or likely bad things from the E71- cause BT 2.0 is a more open and speedy connection than the BT 1.2. I have no reasons to believe that my dealer is giving me wrong information, but I have major difficulties in understanding why the manufacturer of the TNS510 isn't able to separate the Bluetooth part from the navigation part of the unit. We got a man at the Moon in '69, and safe back, and Toyota can't get this to work 40 years after.......
About upgrading TNS510 into Bluetooth 2.0, - the answer was that there was no actual plans :-(
However, my Toyota dealer meet up with the usual spirit of complete customer satisfaction, and said that the right and formal way was to raise a "technical notification" to the importer, which will be gathered together and provided to the European Toyota centre in the end. And so he has done, and I'm just hoping that it will make a change.
So, - Dear suffering TNS510 fellows, including you Bart! - If you face the same issue between your Toyota Navigation System TNS510 and your E71 (or any other Bluetooth 2.0 phones - Nokias N and E series are in general running BT 2.0), and realise that it is caused from BT 1.2 and BT 2.0 incompatibility - please go to your Toyota dealer, and ask him to raise a "technical notification". As more we are in Europe who make this claim - as higher attention we can bring into this issue from Toyotas side - leading Toyota into solving our problems in upgrading the TNS from Bluetooth 1.2 to Bluetooth 2.0.
Enjoy your Toyota trip - well connected between your TNS510 and your E71 some day in the future!

  • Iphone 3gs compatiblity with Tom tom sat nav

just got anew I phone 3GS - after checking it had bluetooth etc ; I assumed it would interface using bluetooth, with my Tom Tom not only for hands free calling but also to download up to date traffic information - as did my old Samsung SGH G600. The telephone calling is fine but apparently Tom Tom now tell me the sat nav units are not compatible with iphone for getting the traffic information downloaded via the internet.
I never dreamt (perhaps naively) that a major phone supplier like Apple would not automatically be compatible with Tom Tom.
Anyone come accross this problem and got a solution - other than buying a new sat nav or an additional sim card for my old phone plus a subscription or pay as you go cost of course!!

Thanks for info. I know there is/are an app(s) for this but not fully investigated it yet as I want to be certain I cannot just 'fix' my current problem and continue to use Tom tom with iphone as i did previously with Tom Tom/Samsung.
If I do look have to look for alternatives Tom Tom do a new satnav with 'hd traffic live updates ' which I understand does not need a phone connection at all - sounds interesting

  • E61 & LD_3W with Tom Tom

I bought an E61 and LD_3W from 3 network as a package, with Tom Tom 6. I Have been through all of the books and instructions several times, loaded everything as instructed but cannot get it to work.the two devices are paired in bluetooth connections, the Gps module reacts when I go to navigation in the tools menu but when I try it with Tom Tom it just says no GPS available.
Has anyone been able to get this to work, or found any other solutions? or have I just bought a pile of useless bits?
I have tried contacting 3 network, Nokia and Tom Tom, but they all give me the run around and blame each other.
    any ideas?

Tom Tom likes to create it's own connection to the GPS Rx.
To do this from the TT start screen press 5 then 6, 6, 6 followed by 1 (or if you prefer go to Change preferences, next, next, next, show GPS status) then press the left softkey "configure" use the joystick to displat "other bluetooth GPS receiver" and press select. It will then do a Bluetooth scan, highlight the LD_3W and select it the pass code is 0000 on mine I guess this is standard and that should be that.

  • N95 Bluetooth connection with car

I drive an AUDI A6. Before I got my N95 I had a Sony/Ericsson i800. When I connected this phone with my car (Bluetooth), everything can be done from the car environment such as lookin for phonebook entries, selection of entries, dialing etc.
With my N95 I can connect with my car and I can use the hands-free speeking system ... but only this! I can't read any phonebook entry, calling list etc.
Is there any trick to open the phone directory for use in bluetooth mode?
Best regards and thanks in advance.
    Sunni

Having just bought a new Audi A6 Le mans 3.0tdi quattro Avant - I was keen to find a solution to this bluetoth/phonebook problem. I too have the Nokia N95 and can confirm that the above link works 100%. Firstly you need to have Nokia PC Suite installed on you PC & phone .. then download the application and save to your pc. With your phone now connected to your pc.. download the saved application to the phone... [ make sure bluetooth is off and not paired to your car ]
Once installed on your phone - go to your car & connect/pair via bluetooth.... go to applications and run the application. It took a couple of minutes "processing " .... then switches to " transferring " ... again a minute or so.... Job Done.. My phone book is now integrated with the car and the MMI.
Thanks for the above link. http://europe.nokia.com/A4143881

  • 5800 does not maintain connection with Sony Ericss...

I recently upgraded from the N70 to the 5800. I was using a Sony Ericsson HBH-602 bluetooth headset with the N70, and it worked perfectly. Specifically, as long as bluetooth was enabled on the phone, all I had to do was turn on the headset and it would connect with the phone, and remain connected as long as both were powered on and in range.
With the 5800, the headset also connects to the phone when turned on, but the phone drops the connection a few seconds later. However, if I initiate the connection from the phone, it works as expected, and remains connected. This is usable, but it would be preferable if I could control the connection entirely from the headset, as described above.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem but with Nokia BH-903.
It worked really fine with the N95, but with the 5800 it doesn't work so well. When i am in a call it always disconnect to the phone, or when i am listening to music it paused the music or it disconnect.

  • N95 used with new Honda CRV Hands Free Kit

I'm using a N95 with Honda's built in Hands Free Voice Activated Bluetooth kit.
I've paired the phone with the car & everything works fine. When I press the call button on the stearing wheel & say the voice tag that I have recorded on the cars system the call is made through the car kit.
The problem is that you can only store a measly 50 voice tags on the car's system, which is not much use for business users, so other numbers have to be dialed from the phone it's self.
When you dial a number on the phone & press send it doesn't connect with the car kit & the call stays with the phone. I've discovered that once the call is answered you can select options on the phone & transfer the call to the blue tooth kit, but by the time you've managed that (& it doesn't always work first time !), half the people you've rang have put the phone down !
Am I missing something really silly here ?
How do I get the call when initiated from the phone to go through the car's system without having to press buttons.
I'd be very grateful if anyone has any ideas as the Honda garage & Honda themselves haven't !

    Hi
Your "work around" is the only solution I've been able to come up with as well - as you say - hardly hands free, but the only way you can get it to make a call that isn't in the cars 50x misely voice tag memory.
Have you noticed also that when you first start the car, it hardly ever understands your first voice comand ? It's as if the car has to load the software before it can work. It's the same with voice commands for the audio, climate control & sat nav - I think the woman behind the dash board falls asleep & has to be woke up every time you set off !!! Once you've used it once she is back up to speed till you switch off & re-start the engine.
With regard to the noise levels in the car & people not hearing you above 40 mph I have exactly the same problem, my garage have changed the mic on my car kit & it made no difference at all !!! I also had a modification made to the wing mirrors to cut down the wind noise (have you had this done ?) but every day someone tells me I sound as if I'm speaking from the bottom of a pit !!!
Other car kits I've had over the years have worked fine with good clarity both ways & cost a lot less.
It could be such a good system with just a few tweeks !!

  • 5800 XM poor connection with CK-7W

I have had the new phone for about 6 weeks now and am generally very impressed.  4 reasons for choosing it over the iPhone: 1. cheaper, 2. Can have soare batteries, 3. Can work legally in UK on Orange and 4. we have 2 CK-7Ws fitted in the 2 cars that my wife an I use and one would have thought it would be logical to assume thgat 2 Nokia devices would work well together on Bluetooth...  I blew it!  it took me 2 days to get the 5800 to find the CK-7W at all, let alone pair with it.  I must say it pairs OK evey time now BUT it loses sound every few minutes of most conversations and is always very echo-y for the person on the other end.  Nokia now tell me that the 2 devices are not compatible, which seems ludicrous.I also understand that this is the case with many of the newer handsets.  Surely all that would be needed would be a small software update to fix it, wouldn't it?
Does anybody have any information or tips to hep?

hi i got n95 black and in my car have got ck-7w kit.am having problem from a week it was working fine for 2wks now my phone doesnot make connection with it.if i try to connect manualy then message comes on phone "unable to make bluetooth connection"dont know why can anyone tell me what to do? thanks

  • N8 does not connect with BH-105

My nokia N8(updated to Anna) does find the Bluetooth headset Nokia BH-105. The headset is working, I tested with an N95. Also the N8's Bluetooth is working, I can connect with other devices.
Can be that the two devices are incompatible? I mean, the both are Nokia...

    blitzkid wrote:
Have you tried removing the battery and sim card and then retrying? Might sound odd but worth a try.
You can't remove the battery on the N8 (well, you can but it's not allowed and will void the warranty if it's still under warranty). What you can do though is a simulated battery pull by holding the power key for eight seconds until three quick vibrations are felt.
    Cheers.

  • N95 problems with mototrola S9 BT PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have an N95 and am having real problems connecting with my motorola S9 headset.
My software version is 11.0.026, 17-04-07, RM-159, 65.01 (not sure which numbers are relevant.
The S9 connects with all my other phones.
I assume its a software problem but if anyone has the same issue or a fix please help.

    V20.0.016, 28-02-08, RM-320, (88.01)
    Running Rotate Me 2.2 & Rock'n'Scroll & Shake SMS & ShakeLock & Flip Silent

Will it never connect or the the connection closes afther a while?
In the first case it can be two things.
    1. The headset has reached the maximum amound of connections. Max os often 7.
    2. The BT profiels are diffrent. Nothing you can do.
If the connection closes it's your Nokia phone. The nokia profile difrens from the one of the motorola. The refresh time is difrent.
    Hope I helpt.

Adobe cloud has lost connection with the server, can't get adobe cloud to work so I can re-install photoshop to fix a corrupted DLL file.

    *Adding new items/removing orphans*
Try iTunes Folder Watch or iTunes Library Updater. Folder Watch is much faster on the adding files front, can be set to run in the background and includes a useful exclusion feature, however it’s slow at removing orphans. iTLU is better for this although doing it manually after looking at a list of proposed removals generated by Folder Watch is probably faster still. iTLU can also be set to update iTunes when you've used 3rd party tools to change tag info.
You may need to amend the list of file types these programs look for. My list includes:
    .mp3 .mp4 .m4a .m4b .m4p .m4v .mov .wav .aif .mid .ipa .ipg .ite .itlp .m4r .pdf
Note the last 6 types may not be recognised as already being in the library so should either be omitted from the search or you can add (at least for Folder Watch) individual exclusions for files you know are already in your library.
