Hey everyone,
I have been having a problem with the display of my N95. The Display goes BLACK and i cant see anything on the screen. Then when i hit the back or side of the phone, the display appears but turn Red/orange/blue at times and also moves all over the place.. I have seen the screen go from right to left..
I would like to mention that everything works fine with the phone EXCEPT the display... I can see the keypad lights and it also makes the key sound when i press the keys..
Anyone..? It's Urgent..

It's definitely a hardware problem with your phone. You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair. It will be free if your phone is under warranty and undamaged. If you are out of warranty you will have to pay. Only the care point can tell you the cost.

  • Random Visio Stencils Displaying Only as Black and White Lines (No colour)

I'm experiencing a strange problem where some Visio stencils/shapes are displaying only as black and white outlines (i.e. - without any colour). I'm using Visio 2010 on a Samsung NC900 laptop with 8gb RAM, 1.7Ghz i7 CPU on Windows 7.
The symptoms that I'm experiencing are:
The majority of stencils display fine in the left hand stencil window but some do not.
Some stencils display the majority of shapes as black and white outlines but some in full colour.
Some shapes display fine within the stencil window but change to black and white outline when I drag them to the drawing (These are typically ones that I open independently of the drawing - i.e. - by double clicking rather than via "Search Shapes").
I've done a search on the web for this problem and have found some similar issues but none of the suggested fixes work.
One of the stencils that I experience this issue with is the Exchange 2013 Microsoft stencil.
I've updated Java and Silverlight (stab in the dark there) and my graphics driver is up to date.
It's driving me mad now so any help would be appreciated!

The remove profile worked like a charm with the greyscale images. Maybe a slight loss of contrast, but I'll hold the tiff scan in any case. I-photo would not import the image again (already in the library) but I can remove the profile on the image in my folder outside i-photo. And I think I can prevent it at import now.
Thanks! I doubt I would ever have figured that one out.

  • Display problems with Black & White Scans

I have recently scanned a bunch of old pictures into an iPhoto library and I'm having trouble with one batch of 12 scanned pictures which are black and white.
The photos seem to import fine and display both thumbnail and with double click can see larger version. The problem is when I hit the 'edit' button the picture is present for a second or so then disappears. From other threads I found I did make sure that the pictures are in RGB format ("generic" per Preview); even tried changing that with the tools in Preview (which when changed to iMac RGB did significantly reduce file size) and re-importing but issue persists. Tried also rebuilding the library from within iPhoto. Next I'll try re-scanning.
The same thing also happened with a single picture from 180 (color) pictures scanned from large-format film. I'm using an Epson Perfection 700 scanner, if that makes a difference, and the B&W scans were 'manual' in that I had to select part of a preview scan to scan at higher resolution. Any help appreciated!

Just an FYI / update to this unresolved issue. I tried re-scanning the pictures and the new scans behave normally. I think what happened was that I rotated the pictures to make them upright when examining the 'event' as a whole; then somehow the program lost the rotation information (though I don't remember a crash I did have a couple during the long process); so when I tried to go from thumbnail to full size to edit that information was gone and somehow defaulted to 'blank'. That's my best guess, anyway as the issue was resolved by re-scanning.

I'll 2nd Chris's comments about position:absolute.  It is definitely not needed for 98% of page layouts and in most cases should be avoided because it makes a complete mess of things.
You also have quite a few coding errors which mucks things up in browsers.  While I'm not certain what all you're trying to do with those labels, But I think you can simplify things enormously by using a very basic CSS layout and simple jQuery Accordion panels.
Copy & paste the following code into a new, blank document.  SaveAs test.html and preview in browsers.

  • Problems with tint and color

After only 6 months of use, my iPad has a strange color/tint...almost gone to black and white...

    Did you drop the iPad?
Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.
    Make a Genius Bar Reservation
    http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Tty display problems with nvidia and uvesafb

I'm trying to get my console to display correctly at 1080p; trying to do so through GRUB was always an absolute nightmare.
The console displays fine with nouveau, but nouveau causes the infamous pink line bug, which is simply too irritating to ignore; nouveau is not an option.
In the past, my console has run at low res and incorrect scale with nvidia, but I've ignored the problem since I prefer to use a virtual terminal in X.
Now, if possible, I need to use the actual console for the purposes of module development.
I installed v86d and uvesafb and configured the console for 1920x1080 and 32 bit depth.
The console is displaying with the correct resolution now, but is surrounded by a black border, making the font distorted and extremely difficult to read.
How can I get my console to scale correctly to fullscreen? Any ideas at all. I found nothing in the forums or wiki, and I'm out.
I'm fairly certain there are no vga or video settings in GRUB that are interfering.

The rendered part of the console occupies the same space as the GRUB boot menu.
I installed and configured virtualbox a few weeks previously.
I ran "sudo depmod -a" as the wiki / forums indicated it could remedy problems with virtual machines failing to start.
It did fix the virtualbox problem; after reboot, suddenly lightdm *also* initally occupied the same window space as grub.
That was new behaviour. When I logged in to xmonad, the desktop displayed similarly to GRUB.
I hadn't tried fixing it; logging in with root followed by "ps -e | grep X" and "kill -9 <Xpid>" caused X as a whole to start behaving and scaling normally.
I haven't rebooted until attempting to rectify the issue with my console.
The oddity with scaling in lightdm and xmonad still shows up after reboot and is still reparable by killing X.
Killing X doesn't - obviously - have any effect on console scale.

  • N95 Display problems

    Hi,
I am facing a weird problem since yesterday with my N95-1. There is a double horizental black line on the top of the screen. It started small and grew to fill almost the complete top quarter of the screen. This appears only when the lights of the screen are on and not when the phone is in standby or when the lights are off. I don't think it is a dead pixel problem. I have the latest firmware 30.0.015.
    Check the screen shot.
    http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6199/n95screenqj6.jpg
    I appreciate any feedback.

Connect the phone to PC and immediately press the Center Navigation key as if you are selecting something from the Menu.. See if it gets recognised by your PC.. Open OVI Suite and take back-up of your data...
Now disconnect the phone and do a Hard Reset.. Method given here..
    /t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/How-to-Soft-Hard-reset-5800-E71-N95-and-N97/m-p/787573/highlight/tru...
See if the problem has gone.. If not.. Re-install the firmware.. For that again connect the phone to PC as suggested earlier and do that thru' the OVI Suite...Keep the phone connected to charger during the process..
If both these do not work then you will have to take it to Nokia Care...

  • Website display problems in IE and FF

    hi all,
Really need some help with this website. Orginally it were
created using tables (not by me), and I have been asked to make
changes. I didnt want to redo the thing in CSS so I just added to
the tables. So far so good, I have an issue effecting the layout in
Firefox and Internet Explorer. If you check the link
    http://www.acengineering.no/new_site/acc_employer.html
in both IE and FF, FF displays the layout exactly as I want it to
however IE displays the text and image blocks inwards eg, not
    measuring correctly to the menu.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get IE to display the
website correctly like FF? Really really need some help here...
If this is not possible, would placing a div instead of the
main table menu suffice, and if so how would it be best to go about
    this?
NB. Please excuse the inline CSS as I havent sorted this into
an external file yet. Also casually look away from the asortment
.styles; again havent got round to changing and correcting these.
    1000 thx
    S

The problem you have is whoever set up the tables should be
    shot.
It's a very bad construction. The tables inside of the main
    table
obviously add up to more than the 784px that they are
    supposed to and so
IE has issue knowing what it is you want.
The easiest solution is to remove the middle nested table
    (the one which
contains the iframe and image) and insert a new 1 row x 2
    cols table at
840px wide in its place. Set the right cell to align right
    via the
properties inspector if you're not good with code.
Then put back in the ifarme in the left cell and the image in
    the right
    cell.
That way it will work ok in IE.
It's a 'sticking plaster' solution. The table construction is
horrendously hideous for such a simple project.
Personally I would re-work the structure for peace of mind.

  • Why is photo black and color draining when using black only?

I am printing in fast draft, black only, why is my photo black being used?
Am I wrong thinking photo black is just for the photo tray?
Also my colors seem to be used as well.

    Hi,
Color inks will drain slowly even we use black only because from time to time the printer needs to clean the print head(s) specially during warming up process.

  • Unibody Macbook Pro 17inch Display problems, vertical lines and artifacting

    Hey everybody
I bought my 17inch MBP at B&H in June (week before WWDC, D'oh) and it was working fine until I came over to Ireland to work on a editing job for the summer, as soon as I attached it via mini display to a second monitor I started getting artifacts and vertical lines in certain shades and colours on the macbooks display, its gradually gotten worse so much so in fact that it is nearly unusable.
I have seen the thread about the firmware update, but my computer is already up to date with that but it still has this problem, I contacted apple and was told to take it to the apple store and the genius bar in Belfast, as helpful as the rep was he told me it would be two weeks for a repair, by replacing the logic board. Which I just can't do as I've only got three weeks left on the job and need my mac every day. I've searched and it seems no-one is having this problem except me since the firmware update, but clearly my machine still has problems.
Never had a problem with all my previous Mac's but I'm close to tossing this in the bin please help because if I can't get this solved I will have to move to PC and install my copy of AVID on it as this is the only other available computers at this production company.
What to do? Has anyone else had this problem recently? Or know of a fix for it? I've tried everything downloaded the firmware told me its already installed, switched the graphics displays etc etc
    Please help
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
It sounds like there is a hardware problem of some sort with the graphics chips, and the only real fix is going to be to replace the logic board. So at some point, you will have to send your Mac off for repair.
In the US, you can sometimes arrange to get a loaner. You might ask if this would be possible where you are, since the repair is going to take so long.
Unfortunately, I don't know of anything that would fix your problem other than a repair.
    Good luck!
