Follow the link, install NSU on your PC, plug the phone and start it.. But don't hurry, Nokia server is down so you won't be able to download anything yet..
Scroll down and read few topics related to that error.

    THks!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Unfortunately you cannot download older versions. Even if you could you would not be able to flash it onto your phone without NSU.
The only way to roll back firmware is to get it done at your nearest Nokia Care Centre.
You can find your nearest Nokia Care Centre at:
    For UK
    http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4228006
    For Europe:
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4388379
    For Asia-Pacific

    Elsewhere:
http://www.nokia.com select your country, go to the support section, then select repair.
BTW, Why do you want to roll back firmware anyway? I started with V11 and have updated a few times since and every update has improved my phone.

  • Firmware version is too high. How uninstall? Correct version where?

Help! That Firmware thing is driving me nuts. Wish apple would organize the latest upgrades by OS. It’s a maze.
My iMac DV (blue front slot loading) is OS 9.0.4 (I will upgrade but not right now, too long to explain).
I had bought a LaCie HD some years ago & made partition with OS 9.0.4, 9.1 to 9.2, it fell, bought another and installed it.
After much time I found out that to know my version of Firmware I have to look for boot ROM, my system profiler says it’s $0004.19f1 that means probably v 4.19.
If it’s v 4.1.9 it is too high it needs OS 9.1 and probably happened with I had OS 9.1 on my external HD. My LaCie CD Writer became a nightmare and I don’t dare to use it anymore, maybe it was because of the firmware ….or it might be that Apple CD/DVD Driver can’t exist at the same time as Toast extensions, it’s unclear to me.
Can’t find the latest firmware version for OS 9.0.4 that will work, or how I can take it off before I install another one. I know v2.4 will work on OS 9.0.4.
    Got: Firewire v2.3.3 - usb v 1.4.2 - CarbonLib v 1.6 - Apple CD/DVD Driver v 1.3.5 player is v2.1
    Help!
    1. What’s the latest Firmware for OS 9.0.4?
    2. Do I have Firmware v 4.1.9?
    3. How do I uninstall Firmware v 4.1.9?
    4. CAN Apple CD/DVD Driver exist at the same time as Toast extensions?
    Thanks very much
    Nicky

I think that you misunderstood Kappy's point about Mac OS X version.
What the information about OS X version is telling you is that those are the minimum requirements for the installer which places the firmware update permanently in the ROM on the logic board to run. However, once the firmware has been installed you are free to continue to update your version of Mac OS X for as long as Apple releases them.
I have an iMac G3 DV+ which has ROM version 4.1.9f1 and is running Mac OS X 10.4.8.
However, the firmware is backwards compatible as well. You obviously installed the firmware when you were running OS 9.1, but at some time regressed your OS to 9.0.4.
I think the issues that you are experiencing are related to other issues on your Mac. The folks in the iMac G3 forum should be able to help you sort that out.

  • Need a Script to Audit Firmware version of HP components.

    Hi Team,
I am new to this portal, I am not sure if i have selected the correct board for this issue. If not please redirect thie thread to the correct team or guide me the link to the HP Blade system portal.
    My issue:
We have 285 HP Servers, Where almost 275 are HP Proliant BL460 G7 & G8 Blades and the rest are HP DL380P and DL380 Standalone servers.
We recently did a HP SPP Update on all these machines and now for a reason we want to Audit if the component updates were correctly done by our engineers or not.
How ever for HP OS Components i have a script to Scan the registry and pull the Product version and match it to see if it has the Latest version or not.
But how do i do an Audit for the ILO'S of these machines and the Onboard Administrators and the HP Virtual connect if the firmware versions are correct or not ?
Is there any script or any Method to achieve this ?
We also have HP SIM tool as well, Can we do it form that? If yes then how ? Can any one please help in this ?

Frederik, After some tweaking and testing i was able to get it working, I haven't tested it via GPO as a startup script but standalone it is doing what i was after. I cant thank you enough for helping me on this as i had lost hope after days worth of intense
    searching
Change that i had to apply ( space in a network path
was causing a "path not found error", Had to rename the "Office365 update" and update the path in Customconfig.xml  or any other location that was pointing to "office365 update" )
     set DeployServer=\\contoso\c2r\Office365 update\
REM Set ConfigFile to the configuration file to be used for

  • N95 Firmware update (v13, v20... whatever it's sup...

Seriously don't hold your breath for too long... Nokia are truly awful at this, they treat the customers who buy their most expensive handsets with such apparent contempt it is nothing short of disgusting.
I bought an N93 which was quickly superceded and completely forgotten about. To this day it is riddled with bugs and problems, as well as lacking so many features which were added to later models of phone when there was no reason other than Nokia not providing an update or releasing the software as individual updates.
The N95 is not much different unfortunately. It is unstable and full of bugs, including frequent crashes, abysmal memory availability and management as well as annoying things like the the system ignoring key presses every so often. For all those people who don't experience any of this, lucky you! There are far too many people who do however...
I'm sure some bright spark will come on here and point out in some way how I'm wrong, that Nokia are too busy working on new phones, that we've had a firmware update or two already for the N95 or something else. The simple fact is that Nokia are marketing the N95 as a computer, even to the point of the having the advertising slogan "It's what computers have become" but in fact they are treating it like a throw away mobile phone. Even Microsoft provide better and more frequent updates to their system than this! And that really is saying something!
What a shame that they have locked down the system so much, there is a tonne of talent out there in the opensource community who could make this potentially amazing platform truly outstanding. Nokia sure as hell don't seem to have the inclination!
When will you get your firmware...? It has been over 4 months now since they last updated the N95-1. I am beginning to get the feeling that this one has just been chucked on the heap as the N93 was... the parallels between the N93/N93i release and the N95/N95-8GB situation are rather strong. After 10 years as a loyal Nokia customer I won't be making the mistake of choosing them again!!
The supposed October 28th deadline has come and gone. I have emailed Nokia 5 times and been ignored, for over 3 months now. I have called everywhere I can and get the stock response "we don't know that" or "we only get told that a few hours in advance". Assuming any of that is actually the honest truth, it makes Nokia look pretty poor in their organisation of information and product support.
The sad fact is that even IF this firmware comes out, the chances of any further updates are extremely slim. Of course you could argue that there is a lack of commercial incentive for this. The N95 platform is so jammed full of technology that it has the potential to last for 4-5 years as a perfectly decent phone and mobile computing platform, with the right system updates of course. The industry makes no bones about the fact that it wants people to upgrade every 12-18 months, it's how they make their money. This is not conspiracy theory, just a sound bit of reasoning as to why we're not going to get a long stream of support for this phone.
I read with interest that Google are launching an open platform and SDK soon. Much as I am wary of google, being the corporate giant that they are, this at least is the beginnings of a truly open platform which hopefully users will be able to work with and improve in the way that manufacturers like Nokia simply don't want to. That is of course until the phone manufacturers who move to this system lock it down like Apple have done with the iPhone and prevent free enterprise and development.
I know we live in a capitalist society, but sometimes consumers are pushed just a bit too far. It is NOT acceptable, nor environmentally friendly to push out and make obsolete technology which costs as much as a reasonable spec entry PC once a year on us.
I doubt Nokia will read this, even if they do it'll just go ignored like all the other complaints from the customers they have let-down like this.

I'm sorry but "be patient" is just not sufficient here. It has been over 4 months and these are some MAJOR bugs in the phone.
Let me detail my day so far with my N95, for those of you who are not familiar with these problems or who think that perhaps this is just a disgruntled customer who has an overinflated sense of importance.
All of this is on an N95 replacement (the first one's earpiece broke) which I have had for under 2 weeks now. It is the latest firmware and there is NOTHING installed on it, it is as it comes...
    * Full charge overnight with the phone off.
    * Switch the phone on.
    * Check my emails (I was sent a small mpeg video (700k) which I download to the phone.
    - WiFi connection is lost 4 times and I'm within 3 metres of the aerial. N95 fails to find my access point for as long as a minute after losing the connection, when everything else in my house can see it.
    * Check FaceBook mobile in web browser.
    * Read BBC news headlines in web browser.
    - clicked on 3 minute news video headlines, realplayer loads up, runs out of memory to play the video. Realplayer closes, taking the web browser with it.
    * Try to play the video I was emailed. N95 doesn't support uber-standard MPEG files, so...
    * Browse the web again, searching for how to play the MPEG.
    - someone suggests renaming the file to .3gp to make RP load it. I'm dubious but it's worth a go. I go to the menu to access the file manager. I rename the file and click on it, still no joy.
    - I close the file manager and go back to my browser, except not - it closed without warning because the memory ran out (presumably)
    * I give up trying to browse the web and lock the phone.
    * I need to make a call. I press the buttons to unlock it and mess up the timing (my fault completely)
    - I keep pressing the buttons in quick succession in my impatience (which is just pointless I know, but I was in a hurry and fumbling with it).
    - Having pressed the buttons about 8 times the phone unlocks but the screen goes dark.
    - I press the camera focus/shutter button lightly to "un-sleep" the phone. It lights up for 2 seconds and goes dark again.
    - I repeat this 3 times and the phone switches itself off!!
    * The phone restarts automatically but once rebooted is slow and laggy, missing keypresses all over the place so I have to switch off then on again... it is normal (as normal as it gets) after this.
    * I go to my PC and write this!!!!
Absolutely ALL of this is stuff the phone is supposed to do with its hands tied behind its back. I have not used any 3rd party software and never tried to use more than 2 applications at a time - the N95 IS a multitasking phone and so should handle a lot more than this!!!
This behaviour was present on the previous handset too, on both the firmware versions it had on it during its life. My current handset came with an 8-point service engineer inspection saying it was in full health...
Be patient? Even if I was prepared to mutely wait for 4+ months patiently whilst such dreadful bugs plague the phone, I am an N95 user who is concurrently paying off a contract on an N93 phone, costing me £200 ($400 US) in monthly rental for a phone which became unusable (due to signal issues on the network when I moved house to a different part of the country). Be patient? It is now about 14 months since I got the N93 and just over 12 months since the firmware was updated on that (I quote from the firmware date on my N93). Nokia dropped that one like a hot stone and completely screwed everyone who had bought it. Be patient? You must be kidding me! When Nokia, despite an all-singing-all-dancing website cannot ever be bothered to make even the most non-committal of announcements about firmware on it's own forums, why on earth should I be patient? I understand as a programmer myself all to well that things can slide and problems can delay things, but at this point I can't even find solid information to say there will be another update for this, let alone when it MIGHT arrive or what it will HOPEFULLY include... and as I said in my original post, I have telephoned and been fobbed off and had 5 emails ignored (not including the ones about the N93 which were also ignored). And yes, I did get the received message report from Nokia's own system saying someone would come back to me.
I'm sorry to rant at you, I'm sure it's not your fault but be patient? Just not acceptable any more!

  • How to determine firmware version of brick?

Is it possible to determine the firmware version that the logic board has installed? I might be wrong about how the firmware operates, but the word 'firmware' to me usually implies flashing the BIOS. I know what version of 'firmware' the OS portion of the HDD has installed, but I'm not sure that it matches the BIOS and I'm still hoping I can revive the unit without repartitioning, etc. Background - I made the boneheaded mistake of trying to run sudo apt-get install -f <whatever> and was left with an SSH session where only bash built-ins would even run. No `ls`, no `cat`, no `sudo`. I tried to revive the system as best I could while the SSH session was still open using the errors reported and using this guide to abuse shell built-ins to recover a system in this state. But I ran out of time and had to close the connection (on a laptop). After this the system would power up but stay at white light LED indefinitely. So I popped the HDD into a spare linux machine and confirmed the drive looks fine - all data there and the OS RAID partitions were easily browsable. So I reimaged the OS RAID partition with rootfs.img from several different firmware versions (I really don't know whch one I was running as I've updated a few times but not sure when last), but still no luck. Am I wrong in assuming there's a BIOS update as well when we talk about 'firmware'? Am I missing some steps after reimaging the OS partition? Any help would be very appreciated.

I ended up soldering leads on the main board and captured the boot log. I managed to find only one other boot log to compare to (here) but comapring the two hasn't given me much insight. On the surface it seems like my issue is that the AHCI SATA loader is trying and failing to get port 0 to respond. I've posted the full boot log here, but I'll post the last bit here in hopes that someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks. Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0

  • Wishlist for next N95 FW version (¿v21?)

Just to see what comes up, what would you like included in the next N95 FW version?
    Here's my wishlist:
    - SIP incoming calls problem (see /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&thread.id=69938 )
    - Cable Headphone problem fix (see /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&thread.id=24300 )
    - Autorotation ( RotateMe works great, but it would be better to have this supported directly by the O.S. http://www.bysamir.fr/rotateme/)
    - N95 8Gb Multimedia Menu
    - Manual Refresh option in Messages mail client (or at least be able to configure the refresh time)
    - Tracking in Maps (just bring it back...)
    - Sync Contacts Birthdays and Calendar (there are some apps out there that do this, but I can't understand why it's not done automatically by the Contacts application)
    - PicasaWeb support for Online Share (I like Flickr, but I prefer Picasa...)
    - Youtube support for Online Share
    - Youtube player (well, emTube is great, maybe we don't need this http://www.emtube.yoyo.pl/ )
    Regards!
    Jorge

I'd like to see the following:
Harder key lock. Not possible to unlock the keys just by pressing left and right while the slide is closed. Instead, keys only unlocked by opening the slide or camera lens cover. Reason for this wish, it only takes four key presses for the phone to dial last dialed number, and although it doesn't happen often, those key presses can be made accidentally while the phone is in a pants pocket. And I hate it when that happens. Of course this should only be an option so that those who like the current behavior can have it.
Option to disable the Gallery button on the side. I keep pressing it by accident.
Remember which camera scene mode (auto, user, etc) was last used and use that when starting the camera app.
Disable the red light that activates when the shutter is clicked or a video being shot. If some countries' laws require it, fine, let them have it. Do not force it on everyone.
Infinity focus for the camera. That is, an option that allows the user to set that the camera is always focused to infinity, instead of using the autofocus. That might speed up the shutter lag a little. Or better yet, hyperfocal focus based on the current aperture.
The lowest sound volume in the media player should be lower.
Better T9 text input. In my previous phones, SonyEricsson and Siemens, you could change the word that T9 guesses just by pressing up or down.
Geotagging images, as now done by the app Location Tracker from betalabs, should be a firmware feature.
It should be possible to update the firmware without the need for a (windows) PC, directly over the network (or wlan or whatever). Also (yes, I know this is not a firmware feature) one should be able to download maps without a (windows) PC.
PC Suite for Linux. Yes, sorry, not firmware, just had to mention it.
A hardware accessory, and the firmware support for it: "wired" keyboard. Take the keyboard from N800, put a speaker plug in top middle, and a usb plug on the top right, so that it can be fixed to the N95. If those plugs aren't enough to keep it steady, add some clips. Should be possible to design it so that it can also be used with some related models (that is, more sales for the thingy). For me, that would be a much more useful thing than a wireless keyboard. When using the phone and a wireless keyboard without a desk or similar, like while sitting in a bus, you need one hand to hold the phone and another to hold the keyboard. Not useful, but a keyboard attached to the phone could be.

  • How do I find my firmware version G5 dual 1.8

Where can I find the firmware my computer is running?
    Thanks

Boot with an Apple wired keyboard command-option-o-f to get the boot ROM version.
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/g5/powermac_g5_docs_updates.html says:
G5 Boot Rom (Firmware) Versions: (Update - as of April 2004 G5s are shipping with boot rom v5.15. In late 2003 Apple released G5 firmware 5.1.4 update for 2003 models and in Nov 2004 released a 5.1.8f7 update for June 2004 models. The comments below were from early owners before that release.) After the report about early G5 shipments reportedly having problems with mixing 3rd party RAM with the OEM RAM (Hynix brand reportedly) I wondered if the boot rom version had changed since the first shipments. The S/N XB337xxxxx Dual G5 here (shipped 9/15) has rom version 5.0.2f2 (as reported by Apple System Profiler). Several readers sent their G5 boot rom versions:
" Dual 2 Ghz BTO in UK
    CK338xxS-NVB
    (boot rom version) 5.0.5f0
    Tan "
Another Dual G5 owner (very recent shipment) wrote he has an even later boot rom version:
" Mike, I got my G5 Dual 1 week ago, Just looked at the Boot rom version and it is newer than others mentiond in todays news."
    Machine model
    PowerMac7,2 (version = 2.2)
    Boot Rom: 5.0.7f0
And another report of 5.0.7f0 firmware:
" Mike, we have three CTO machines, built 9/19 (1) and 9/22 (2) boot Rom on all three - 5.0.7f0
    -- Fred C.
    General Manager
TheTroupe Modern Media Design & Production "
A reader with 5.0.7f0 firmware noted he still had problems using CL2 dimms (even without any CL3 OEM dimms installed based on his previous comments) - so there's still a requirement for DIMMs to have CL3 timing in the SPD. One reader later wrote he had an even earlier boot rom version than mine - 5.0.1f0.
Maybe Apple is waiting to accumulate fixes/changes before releasing a public update - but I'm hoping they will soon release a firmware update for the G5s which might solve some of the quirks that some owners have seen.

  • WVC210 Firmware Version 1.1.1

I just picked up a WVC210 and went to the website thinking all the latest spftware versions would be there so I downloaded all. Wanted to flash firmware update before any configuration and picked up latest on website 1.1.0.15 (my mistake, I mistook it as 1.1.15). The camera came out of the box v1.1.1. So I flashed the firmware and realized afterward I actually downgraded the camera. Want to get back to version 1.1.1 but cannot locate it on the Cisco/Linksys site nor the media it came with.
Does anyone know where I can get the firmware version 1.1.1 for the WVC210 camera?
    Thanks for any help.
    John

I made the same mistake as John in thinking that Cisco posted the latest firmware release on their website.  Right after I bought this cam yesterday and configured the device, I upgraded (but actually downgraded by mistake) the firmware to make sure the latest was installed.  After that I have been experiencing issues with the motion detection.  Before applying that firmware release from their site, the device clearly displayed v 1.1.1. However, after applying the firmware it now displays v 1.1.0.
I called SBSC w/ an request for the original firmware v1.1.1, however this individual stated that the lastest was posted on the website and there was nothing he could do.  He basically said that this is the naming scheme of Cisco for their firmware releases (they go backwards in numbering). I find that to be untruthful or a lack of knowledge.  I compared there firmware release naming schemes for other IP Cams and have not discovered any of those firmware releases going backwards in the numbering.  My belief is that the latest release is available, but has not been posted on Cisco's website.  SBSC is not aware and will not be able to help.

  • How to downgrade my firmware version after a "succesful" update?

    Dear Macusers,
Is there any way to downgrade my firmware version from 1.5.1 to a lower version? Even if my firmware update has been applied succesfully? I cannot use just the firmware restore CD because that is for an interupted or failed update.
    Greetings,
    Tim

    Hello,
Many thanks for your reply. Yesterday I posted a topic about this problem with some more details. I hope this may help.
+"Since today my trackpad and keyboard doesn't response anymore. This problem started after I exit from sleep mode. Then I get a security form where I can enter my password, but I couldn't. So I restarted my macbook pro for about 5 times, removed my adapter and battery, but it doesn't work.+
+After that I went to iFactory and they said it is apparently because of my latest firmware update 1.5.1. But why does this happen a week after I installed this update? Anyway, he suggested me to downgrade my firmware version with a firmware restore CD. Well it sounded as an straightforward and easy solution until I read that the restoration CD doesn't work when the firmware update already has been applied correctly.+
+I have read some other topics about keyboard issues and some points are relevant for me:+
+I'm be able to use an external USB mouse and keyboard.+
+At system profile by USB, only my iSight, Bleutooth USB host controller and external USB devices are displayed.+
+The keyboard background light works properly+
+This problem happens all of a sudden without intervals or strange behavior.+
+Using Leopard (10.5.2) and Windows XP via bootcamp+
+I hope I can solve this problem really quick because I need my Macbook Pro badly for my study. Thanks in advance for studying my problem.+

  • N95 Firmware crash - Phone Dead !!

I recently attempted a firmware update on my N95 because it was constantly freezing up, and it bombed out halfway through, I retried twice but the phone was dead, when powered on, all I got was the dim white screen & Nokia logo.
I phoned the repair centre in Wolverhampton and they said
"bring it in, you're covered under your 2 year warranty, it's a very common problem"
Sounds great I thought, but of course it wasn't that simple.
When I got there they said it couldn't be done under warranty because it was now void because I'd chosen the wrong firmware version which had changed the product code of the phone ?!?!?! and it would now cost £25 to reinstall the software.
I phoned Nokia Customer(Don't)Care and they said they would not sanction the repair because I'd invalidated the warranty by changing the product code. I kept telling him that I didn't know about the product code, I had simply opted for the later firmware version and didn't know the product code was an issue, but the idiot just kept repeating that the code had changed which invalidated the warranty, I had to ask him to shut up and explain that I wasn't deaf or stupid, that I in fact understood that the code was changed, what HE couldn't grasp was that I don't think it was my fault, this is not clearly explained in the updater software.
As far as I can remember, when I did the update, I didn't know that the product code was essential, and there was no mention of voiding the warranty if you install the wrong firmware update.
If I had seen that, I doubt whether I'd have continued with the attempted update.
I was just trying to get the latest version of the software on the phone to stop it freezing.
As far as I'm concerned this is Nokia's problem and they should help people out in these circumstances, I mean, how hard can it be to re-install the software?
The guy I spoke to at Nokia was downright obstructive and no help whatsowever.
I'm damn sure I'll never buy another Nokia from these money grabbing, unaccountable **bleep** again, that's for sure.
If you got this far, thanks for reading, rant over !

    What BS.
Are you getting paid by Nokia?
My N95 died during an installation of the Nokia Software Upgrade which was downloaded from Nokia using their so-called wizard. No one touched my phone apart from me and I certainly didn't change any codes.
Now the phone shows the dull grey screen with the Nokia word on it. There is no vibration nor is there any 'handshake'.
I have read and attempted to carry out the recovery procedures as outlined in these discussion pages. Nothing tried works.
Surely there is a simple process just to power up a phone that has had the original software removed (by the Nokia program) ready for the software upgrade that obviously did not happen.

  • UCS firmware version question

    Hello guys!
I've seen from Cisco download for UCS B series firmware versions, there are 2 latest versions which 2.2.(1d) and 2.1.(3c), what are the different between these 2 versions? My current firmware is 2.1.(1b), should I update to 2.1(3c) or 2.2.(1d)? Thanks.

    Hello,
The difference is that they belong to different chains (one is 2.1 and the other 2.2) where we made some improvements in the firmware.  UCS, unlike other Cisco devices, do not follow an specific order in the firmware versions released; so you may see, at anytime, how a 2.1x version may be newer than a 2.2x version; precisely cause that 2.1x will be the newest one for the 2.1 chain while the 2.2x will be the newest one for the 2.2 chain but release on a different day.
The other difference is the bugs we fixed on each release, which might not be included in the other one.
The UCS behavior can also change from version to version, and here is an example:          https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11673921/default-zoning-users-heads-ucsm-21
If you want to see how one version differs from the other, what you can do is to check the release notes for each one:

  • How to find out the firmware version in my Nokia 6...

I have tried to follow your instructions about checking the firmware version in my Nokia 6630 but you missed some important final steps. How do you do it step by step?

You shouldn't look at getting your firmware updated just because there's a newer version - only if you're experiencing faults. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is something well worth bearing in mind.

Just by searchin the net, i seen that most people had been able to update there n95-1 to V3 via NSU but when I try there is no update. Ive seen a lot of people saying that v3 is much better and come with rotateme etc..
There never was a V3. The very first firmware version for the N95-1 was V10. Then there were V11, V12, V20, V21 and the latest is V30. There was a V31 released a few weeks back but it was removed almost immediately.
If you can't update to V30 it could be because of either or both of these reasons:
    1) You live in a part of the world for which the updated version hasn't yet been translated. For each model there are multiple product codes, each one for a different area and/or mobile network operator.
    2) There is an update available for your part of the world but you have a phone supplied by your operator who hasn't yet approved it. Read this page.
