N95 fring settings

I need your help.
I have a Nokia N95 and recently I've installed the famous Fring.
The problem is that it can't establish a connection with Skype, Gtalk, etc.
I think, some settings must be done, but I don't know at which level. Please, help me out with that.

Hi - I had a similar issue so I am adding to this thread!
I have cleared my old connections using the 'Connections Manager' and only the new access points are in there however; some applications (web browser for instance) still have all the (old) deleted connections listed when it prompts for an access point.?
It is though they have been stored or cached somewhere other than the connection manager.
Any idea how to clear these out?

N95 email settings problem

Hello,
I have recently bought N95 and updated to recent version. But when i try to setup my email account, under both incoming and outgoing parts, i set my email port manualy. However when i go up and return to standby mode, enter again to the settings i see that the setting turns to default by itself.
Gmail requires pop manual port setting so i cannot recieve or send emails with my phone.
Is this a software bug? Any help?

N95 connection settings for Cingular Media Net

Hi @ all,
does someone know how I have to modify the settings for the N95 to be able to connect to the Cingular MEdia Net in Michigan or somewhere else in US?
Due to Cingular doesn't sell this phone, they don't support this trouble shooting.

The Cingular settings should be populated automatically if you have a cingular SIM card in the phone. If not run the Settings Wizard application in the Tools folder.

Nokia N95 email settings

I have just taken delivery of a N95. Can anyone help me with the email. I am on 02 and have a btconnect email account ( pop3 ). It worked fine with my Sony K810i now nothing. I have typed in the setting but it keeps asking me for the user mane and password when it goes to connect. Please someone help before the thing takes flying lessons

Hi,
Is there any way to make RealPlayer to ask everytime which access point to use?
I'm using the new Youtube mobile client and it's very frustrating to have to change RealPlayer settings every time I move from my work WiFi to my home WiFi...
Other programs allow the "Ask everytime" option...

i dled the youtube client opened it, accessed the page and i tried to open the video. On all videos i got connection timed out or something similar. Was using wlan from the university. Any ideas? Response on sites was instant.

N95 losing 'settings' after FW update

Hi
I lost some data after updating FW recently. The lost data includes:
Saved GPS locations.
Call log
Active standby apps settings
and so on.
Could I have saved these settings somehow when I backed up/sync with the PC or do I have to accept the loss when I upgrade FW?

I'm afraid you have to accept losing settings and data with any upgrade the firmware. Not sure you could save the settings in any way other than perhaps making a note (on paper) of what your settings are and which active standby app's you prefer. I may be wrong but I've never been able to do so.

so far I have found FRING with one good review, and another

It works with SKYPE and IM and others in developement.
I havnt been spammed on my number either.

Fring all the way. Although i've had a few crashes due to the application. the ease of use, auto refresh & ability to run my MSN & Skype contacts simultaneously is great.
I've done a couple of voip calls via Skype contacts and its very quiet. And the only other niggle I have is the annoying "trill" sound when i get a reply!
Think if I got a good explorer app I could use a different sound file and rename it.

Fring not working on 5800 with proxy settings

I have already set my internet proxy settings and so internet works perfectly fine. What I dont understand is why my fring won't work. Any help? Thanks.

Hi. I m Rai Singh using Nokia 5800 XM. I sucessfully installed fringSymbian94.sis , no probs But i m unable to connect via gprs. I m using idea gors service (NOP99).
My gprs settings are
Apn SpiceExcite
Usr name Blank
Passwrd Blank
Authentication Normal
Advanc setings-
Proxy 10.11.12.13
Port 9401
I had also tried without proxy and with secured authenticatn bt same result NO. I think fring developers hav to solve this prob in the nxt upcoming version to meet the challenges of other IM providers as it is major drawback of fring. Otherwise it is awesom software. Hoping for quick action from ur side..

It'll involve using a proxy put at your disposal by your VoIP provider. Contact them for more details. People here can't help you because they have no reason to know your provider's settings.

Change Phone Sync Profile Settings on N95

I want to change the Sync Profile settings on my N95 but I get a message that says "Unable to edit - Read Only". How can I change these settings or delete them and re-enter my preferred setting? In particular I wanna change the Connection Setting from "Bluetooth" to "USB Cable"

Actually that is not necessary ( formatting PC) be sure you are using ADMINISTRATOR account. Nothing of recommended works please provide complete information about you system: OS version, Which PCsuite and how many of them you have instaled. Explaine step by step what are you doing on PC, and what is the result you want to achieve.

N95 aol email sending/settings

I have set up my n95 phone for aol email using Imap settings given by aol
I am able to retrieive email/files and read them from aol server but on trying to reply or send new email nothing happens just a continuous upload bar.
I feel this could just be a setting problem and have checked all settings are as specified and it still does not work.
Anyone out there had a similar problem and has any ideas on fixing it

N95 PCSuite Crash when setting Sync Settings

I have just upgraded from a N80 (which was great) to N95 and I'm immediately having problems.
I have connected the N95 to the PC by data cable (bluetooth playing up). The PCSUite can see my phone (name comes up). The Sync is successful but none of the sync settings are correct, ie. it's not syncing calendar/tasks/contacts from outlook as I haven't defined it yet.
So... I right-click on the app and select Nokia Nseries sync settings.
On the next window I click the button: Select the Information You Want to Synchronise
At this point the application stalls and finally crashes- I receive a Microsoft Error Reporting Message.
Please help or I'm back to my N80!

As far as i know, Nokia NSeries PC Suite has been replaced by Nokia OVI SUite 1.1x long back. But there are few users still using it seems like you. My suggetsion would be either you can download Nokia OVI Suite or Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0 . Have a look on following link for NSeries(OVI) vs PC Suite.

Restore Factory Settings For N95

i have tried to restore the factory settings on my N95, but it keeps asking for a lock code which i do not kno, i have tried the usual '0000' but that doesn`t work. can anyone help, this is all because my text messaging sending doesn`t work, if you have any other ideas to help with that instaed of formatting the phone, it would be much appreciated, thankyou.

I see you have upgraded your N95 to V30.0.0.15.
I just upgraded my N95 original to the same version, and it's totally screwed my phone, which is not a problem but I am having a great deal of difficulty resetting it, because it keeps insisting I enter a lock code.
Just a little history. After I upgraded from v21 to v30, my N95 was having trouble loading. I think I had some dodgy application on my Memory card, and it was trying to install it. So I removed the memory card, but this made no difference. After a few switch offs and ons, I got the following message: "phone start-up failed. contact the retailer" :-)
It took me ages to get back into the phone. I think I took the battery out, and swapped my sim card with my work sim card.
Now that I am back in, the phone is extremely slow. I placed the memory card back into the phone, and instantly it tried loading dodgy software. So I aborted this, and went and formatted the memory card.
Now the problem is the front screen, when the phone is turned on, is blank. All I see is the two menu buttons at the bottom, No Time, No service provider, no shortcut icons (even though I have them switched on in Settings). I just want to hard reset the phone, but can't because of the lock code. I have no idea what this code is, nor have I ever set it. I've tried 00000, 0000, 1234, 12345 etc. Nothing seems to work. I also get another error, something to the extent of phone lock code locked for 5 minutes, until it's reset, although have waited 30 minutes and the same problem exists.
Any ideas how I can do this? Can I roll back a version?

Phones hardly ever "somehow change the language". But anyway, you need to tell what pictures you are seeing so we can give you the directions to reset the language.
