N95 front camera : Unexpected error occurred. Powe...

When I try to use my N95 front camera it just says "Unexpected error occurred. Power off the device and restart."
I tried everything. Updated the firmware, replaced the flex cable and the front camera, restarted the phone, etc. and nothing happened.
Can someone help me ?

gdegas001, I'm inclined to your suggestion.
I'm not using the N95, but my N82 is spitting the same error message.
I think I have the latest firmware V31.0.016 (not sure if this is latest or not).
I have also done *#7370# follow by 12345 to reset the phone.
I have also changed the following: from silver to black to gold and now back to black housing!  Of course in doing that, I've changed several keypad flexes.
Ok I'll cut to the chase, I think I've demaged the flash (or it's flex) after changing the facet 4 times!
It is on my latest N82 face change that I received the "Unexpected error...".  And of course it is the first time I notice the blinking flash battery (in the manual, this means the flash is charging!). Now it is ok if the flash is charging after it fired a few times, but a blinking flash indicator followed by the "Unexpected error.." is likely to mean that the flash is not charging or dead.
I'm going to buy the flash unit (about $30 on eBay) for replacement and see if my (or your's) suspicion is correct.  Will update you all soon.
Of course the "Unexpected error.." can mean many things, the flash issue is just one of them.  So don't even think about changing the flash unless you always see the blinking flash indicator first.  Another reason for getting the "Unexpected error..." is if you have changed your housing for your phone at least 3 times, by yourself!

  • E66 camera, "Unexpected error occured. Power off t...

    Hi,
I purchased my E66 a week ago and there is this problem that is really annoying me, whenever I try using the camera for the second time (i.e. after taking a picture then turning the camera off) the error pops that "Unexpected error occured. Power off the device and restart". I think I've restarted it thousands of time but the problem is never solved. Can anyone kindly guide me through this problem and a solution for it? I'll be very obliged. Thanks

    1. backup everything in your memory card to your pc
    2. backup your phone memory to your memory card
    3. reset/format your phone
    4. try if the camera works
    5.
    a) either setup your phone settings and programs again
    b) or restore your backup from the memory card to your phone
    6. check to see if the cam works now
for backing up the phone to the memory card, go to the "memory" program in the tools, and press the options to see the backup phone line.
    Good luck...
And do not hesitate to ask further
For the reset / format part I copied the following from the web. I never tried the 3rd one. My personal choice is the 2nd. If anyone has an idea I'd love to hear as well..
*#7780# - Reset to the original settings; some informations are also deleted and need to be re-entered.
*#7370# - Soft format - this will resets all the phone memory (like re-format a disk); make sure to have full battery charged !
[dial] + [3] + [*] during a power on performs a hard format : this will return the phone like you have received; make sure to have full battery charged !

  • Nokia N8 camera "Unexpected error occurred"

    Hello
I am having a problem on my Nokia N8's camera. I take pictures but when I'm going to take video it is showing "Unexpected error occurred. Please restart the camera. If this does not help, try restarting the Phone." and black screen. Restarting the phone did not worked for me. Also and *#7370# reset.
Any sugestions to solve the problem??
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Restarting the camera should have helped. I also get these kind of messages on my phones too, but Restarting the camera or rebooting the phone helps solve the problem.
Also you have tried resetting device by *#7370# i would suggest you to reinstall the firmware via Nokia Suite. Check if that helps.
If nothing works then you are done with every possible thing before going to Nokia Care Point. I might not suggest the hard reset as you can lose built-in apps for which you ultimately have to visit NCP unless you are smart enough

  • X220 - unexpected error occurred (rc=9)

    Hi All,
Just received 2 new X220 thinkpads - I'm attempting to burn factory recovery disks on a lenovo USB multifunction cd/dvd drive.
I receive the 'error unexpected error occurred (rc=9)' when attempting to burn the disks - I came across another forum suggesting that the first disk is a CD and the rest should be DVD - This worked to burn the recovery media - however when I inserted a DVD to continue the rest of the recovery media I receive the afore mentioned error.
I have gotten 1 of them to complete a full set of disks - 4 in total.  The other one, no such luck.
Anyone else out there having similar issues?
    - Chad
    Solved!

    Hello Guys
Seems to be I have found solution after I noticed that my usb cd-rom always lost connection with computer just before finalizing disc.  So all what i did ... i just plug additional power from USB to my ICY BOX (it can work without adding power to it) and after all i was able to finish creating my Recovery Media. Hopefully it will helps. It does for me good luck.

  • Error occurred in tag CFX_IMAGE Unexpected error occurred - help!

    Hello,
We have a few clients on an IIS server running coldfusion sites.  Part of their content management systems include thumbnail creation of images.  Unfortunately, without any obvious reason, all of the image resizing code started failing.  We're using the CFX_IMAGE tag.
An example of our code looks like:
    <CFX_IMAGE
        ACTION        = "RESIZE"
        FILE           = "#uploaded_filename#"
        OUTPUT         = "#thumbnail_filename#"
        Y             = "100"
        THUMBNAIL     = "NO"
        JPEG_QUALITY = "80"
        JPEG_OPTIMIZE = "ON"
    >
A few of our applications rely on the CFX_IMAGE tag, and each one uses a different directory for the thumbnails and slightly different code.  To have all of them fail at once is definitely odd.  I also ran a search on the windows server for files that have been modified during the day that things started failing and I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary.
Here's the exact error that is being shown:
    Error occurred in tag CFX_IMAGE
Unexpected error occurred while processing tag.
The cause of this error is yet unknown.
The error occurred in C:\clients\(client-name)\admin\photo_upload_handler.cfm: line 25
    23 :     FILE           = "#uploaded_filename#"
    24 :     OUTPUT         = "#thumbnail_filename#"
    25 :     Y             = "100"
    26 :     THUMBNAIL     = "NO"
    27 :     JPEG_QUALITY = "80"
Sorry, I don't have the exact CFX_IMAGE source in front of me.
I've checked file permissions on the folders where the thumbnails should be generated.  The permissions look good, especially since coldfusion is able to upload the original files there (the ones that need the thumbnails generated).
Any insights would be most apprecated,
    - Bret

This is exactly what I started seeing a week ago on a CF7 server. We migrated
to CF8 last night, but application continues to fail.
      Did you discover the problem?

  • The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8060).

    Hi,
I want to copy a folder from desktop to my document (or anywhere else on a MAC) I got this error "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8060)." everytime at the same position when it's about to finish (sth like 75%).
I have MBPR + Mountain Lion and the folder is a Xcode project if it helps.
BTW there is nothing in trash.
    Thanks

Thanks but I solved this problem with this tip:

Re: Error when trying to copy one of my folders, or compress it in the finder
Aug 11, 2012 12:41 PM (in response to Maziyar)
I found some subdirectories within my Project folder that were complete duplicates of other directories. After deleting those, I no longer had the error.  I don't know where they came from, but think they may have been created after an upgrade, say from Xcode 3.0 to 4.0 but don't remember.  Anyway, don't know any more about it, only that it went away after I deleted those duplicate subfolders.  Good luck !
I found unlimited folder in folder in my Xcode project folder that made the size from 285MB to 1.5G. It was that duplicate folders made this error.
I removed and it solved the problem.
    Thanks

  • "AN UNEXPECTED ERROR OCCURED (ERROR CODE -600)" HELP...

I was trying to open a FC EXPRESS HD and this message came up:
"THE OPERATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED"
"An Unexpected Error Occured -ERROR CODE -600-.
If someone can help me. I'll appreciate.

It appears that the last time Final Cut Express was used, it didn't completely quit. Open the Activity Monitor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to force quit it if it shows up; if it doesn't, save your open documents in other applications and quit the loginwindow process. You may now be asked to log in again or be logged in automatically depending on how the computer is set.

  • Unexpected Error Occurred (error code -600) after Leopard Installation

Installed Leopard for the second time.
Everything seems to work fine, but after opening and then closing Mail, I'm unable to open it via the dock. Tried to open by selecting from the applications menu, and get the following message:
The operation could not be completed.
An unexpected error occurred (error code -600)
Same thing with Backup, Parallels too.
Shutdown behavior is odd. From the apple icon, shutdown doesn't work, everything goes away on the desktop, then the spinning wheel (not beach ball), then nothing. Have to power off to quit, can't be good for the hardware.
Any suggestions, or am I doomed to a clean install and reinstalling all of my applications? Thankfully I have a drive backed up with SuperDuper with 10.4!
    Thanks for the help.

OK, I've got ContentBarrier X4 installed and this was the cause of my error codes and it looks like several - if not all of my installation issues with Leopard.
Apparently, perhaps with Login KeyChain update, it wiped out the ContentBarrier administration name, and on launch, it was likely blocking the applications.
First, install the Login KeyChain update (see Apple software download page).
Reinstalled ContentBarrierX4 http://www.intego.com/services/updates.asp (make sure to select ContentBarrierX4).
Open ContentBarrierX4 - you'll have to sign in as the administer. You may have to go into Preferences > Accounts > to make sure that you've got admin rights.
Once you logged in, exit, then reboot.
For the first time since installing Leopard, I can shutdown without a hard power off.

  • Unexpected error occurred - Try Again

    Hi,
I upgraded my Time Capsule from a 500GB disk to 2TB Seagate Barracuda
After resassembly and re-start the following occures
I attempted to Erase the new disk, unexpected error occurred - Try Again
I completed a hard factory reset
The Time time capsule is found by the Airport Utility, try to configure a new wireless network the same error occurs
Tried to update the firmware earlier before the factory reset, still the same problem.
    Running out of ideas
    Thanks

    Hi,
Didn't think it was going to be that simple ....
I just upgraded to the latest 27" iMac, I had a USB drive attached for backups which was getting very noisy and annoying.
The master plan was to upgrade the 500GB TC, with a 2 TB Drive (fail by the look of it now) and use the upgraded 2TB TC for iMac and the MacBook Air backups and remove the Noisy USB.
I have now purchased a new 2TB TC, because the wife wasn't getting any WIFI at the front of the house (she was getting irate) ... as wives do LOL.
So now I need to revert the TC back with the old drive, to restore to working order.
I will then sell the Old TC and get something for it ... :-(
Use the 2 TB drive for a customer upgrade which has happended to come along now.
    Thanks for your HELP

  • The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -50).

    Hello,
I have recently (in the last two months) been encountering the following error:
"The operation can’t be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -50)."
This error ocures after a few hours of use when my computer refueses to write anything to the disk. I can cause the dialog to apear when I attempt to creat a new folder on the desktop. Furthermore, when I attempt to run the following command in the terminal:
    $ mkdir test
    > mkdir: test: Invalid argument
As well, when I attempt to list the disks:
    $ sudo diskutil list
    > sudo: Can't mkdir /var/db/sudo/username: File exists
    >
    and nothing ever shows up.
So far the only solution I have to remidy this issue is to hold the power button until the system restarts. Sadly, the I lose all work that I did as I cannot write it to the HD.
After running permissions verification and check disk without incident, I bagan to believe that it was a hard drive failure, but after replacing the hard drive with a new one and restoring the files/install, I am begining to believe it is another problem. I have searched google and this board and attempted serveral solutions with no luck.
    Any help would be apriciated.

The boot drive is failing, or you have some other hardware fault.
Back up all data immediately, then make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to bare metal from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • Finder An unexpected error occurred (error code -6584).

Finder unexpected error occurred (error code -6584)
Time machine error sparse bundle arlready in use

First, I suggest you make another full backup to a locally-attached external hard drive. You should do that anyway. One backup isn't enough to be safe, and backing up over a network is less reliable than backing up locally. Then try each of the following steps that you haven't already taken.
    1. Restart the backup device. You can do that by disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord.
    2. Open the Time Machine pane in System Preferences and check that the device is selected as a destination. If it isn't, select it and try again.
    3. Hold down the option key and select Verify Backups from the TM menu in the menu bar (not the Dock icon.) This operation may take a long time. If the menu-bar icon (a clock that runs backwards) isn't showing, check Show Time Machine in menu bar in the preferences.
    4. Erase the backup device. With a Time Capsule, you do that from within the AirPort Utility application; see its built-in help for details. All backups on the device will be lost, so don't do this until you've backed up to another device. After erasing, select the device again as a backup destination in the TM preference pane. The first backup should be made over a wired connection, if possible.

  • Mac Pro SMC Firmware Update "An Unexpected Error Occurred (0)" HELP

Mac Pro SMC Firmware Update (Version 1.1) Size (970 KB)
"The SMC Firmware Update adjusts fan behavior in Mac Pro. The updater application will be installed in the /Applications/Utilities folder and will launch automatically. Please follow the instructions in the updater application to complete the process."
-----THIS IS WHAT HAPPEND TO ME----I try this morning to install and this is what I got:
" An unexpected error occurred (0).
Your firmware can not be Updated. "
    "See www.apple.com/support for more information."

Are you booting from RAID? even though it warns that you can't be booting from RAID, some people still run the update.
    Any problem with your system?
While it only says that you need to quit any and all open programs, sometimes it helps to reboot (and boot into Safe Mode) just to begin the process.
When there was an SMC Firmware update before (last fall) some people also had trouble.
We aren't mind readers, and to say it failed doesn't give those of us reading this (and non of us are Apple tech support) a lot to go on.
+Please follow the instructions in the updater application to complete the process.+
+To update the SMC firmware on your Mac Pro:+
+Your computer’s power cord must be connected and plugged into a working power source.+
+1. Quit all other open applications.+
+2. Click Restart in the Mac Pro SMC Firmware Update window and wait for your computer to restart.+
+The SMC firmware update starts automatically. A status bar indicates the progress of the update. During the update your computer fans will run at full speed, but will return to normal once the update completes.+
+Important: Do not interrupt the update.+
+Your computer restarts automatically when the update is completed and opens the Mac Pro SMC Firmware Update.+
+3. Click OK. The SMC firmware is now up-to-date.+
+If these instructions appear on your screen again, the SMC firmware update was not successful. Repeat steps 2 and 3.+
    Note:
+This update requires a Macintosh formatted disk or partition. If you are starting up using a RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) subsystem, you must attach a Macintosh formatted storage device to apply this update.+
*+Some USB and FireWire devices may prevent firmware updates from installing correctly.+*
*If you are having trouble installing an update try disconnecting non-essential devices and use only an Apple branded keyboard, mouse and monitor.+*

  • 802.11ac TC setup: "An unexpected error occurred. Try again."

I am attempting to replace an older 2TB 802.11n Time Capsule that was working fine with a new 3TB 802.11ac Time Capsule. I have followed the instructions, setting up the new TC just as the old one was set up. However, all I can manage is to get this error message: “An unexpected error occurred. Try again.” I have tried more than a dozen times, including various configurations, to no avail. I have returned to using my old TC until I can resolve this issue. I am using a Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 cable modem. Please advise. Thank you.

Power off the modem completely by pulling the power cable from the back of the device, or from the wall AC jack. Leave it off for at least 30 minutes....longer would be better.
“An unexpected error occurred. Try again.”
This is a common message in Yosemite due to glaring bugs in the networking software. Please try the following....which may help...and may not.
On your Mac....open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
    Open Network
Click on WiFi on the left to highlight it
Click Advanced at the lower right
    Click the TCP/IP tab
Make sure that the setting for Configure IPv6 is set to Link Local Only
    Click OK
    Click Apply
Repeat the same sequence as above, except this time click on Ethernet and follow the same steps all the way through
    Restart the Mac
Power up the new Time Capsule for a minute or two
Hold in the reset button for 8-10 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a slow, blinking amber light.
    Power off the Time Capsule
After the modem power down period, connect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule
Power up the modem, and let it run at least 10 minutes
Power up the Time Capsule and let it run 2-3 minutes
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the screen and look for a setting of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on Time Capsule
The setup utility will open up and analyze the settings, then suggest that the Time Capsule be configured to create a new network.
Follow the prompts. You can use the same wireless network name that you used before and the same password if you wish.
Be sure to assign a new device name to the Time Capsule....something simple.  For example, mine is TC.  Do not use the name that Apple suggests.
I would not recommend that you try to use the option in AirPort Setup to have the new Time Capsule replace the old Time Capsule.
No guarantees, but you have our best shot based on experience. Good luck!
If you continue to receive the "unexpected error" message, we can try the setup on an iPhone or iPad, which ofter works better than a Mac. Otherwise, please contact Apple Support, as there is nothing more that we can do.
