N95 fw minor update

hi
apparantly there is a minor update for the nokia n95 something called a minor data pack(????)update(MCU SW 10.0.18)
going on rumour i visited CPW today and told them i wanted an update for my phone they took it and told me to return for it the end of the day which i did checking the fw version still the same as original fw and no visible changes so im wondering what did it actually update?
can someone state on this?

If you Update iOS, either via OTA or with Cable, some 'other' is increased.
It is therefore, suggested to backup in iTunes, Restore to newest iOS, setup as new.
Then use iTunes tabs to put back personal data on the iPhone.
Or Restore with saved backup.

As long as the Macintosh HD 2 partition is just the same size as Macintosh HD to avoid problems in the future, then you can clone one to the other using Carbon Copy Cloner, then use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions on both and if you need too you can hold the option key down while booting and select the #2 partition to boot from.
However you need to set CCC to maintain a pure clone, or else by default it will save the changes between clone updates and overfill your #2 partition.
Also the #2 is merely a bootable backup alternative and for retrieving the rarely occuring deleted files, don't use #2 for storage or anything you want to save pernamently.
In addition you also need external clones and backups, as the machine may fail or get lost etc.,

DyNamic I agree that is sounds like you may be facing a network configuration issue. Please let your network people know that you need access to the following servers and ports to download Adobe applications through the Adobe Application Manager:

Hi I have been reading most of these posts here waiting in anticepation on the release of the lolliop for the galaxy s4 since the rubbish update that was rolled out of Kit Kat. Sorry for my first post/reply here to be one of negativity but considering both o2 and Vodafone have now release this version of Android to the GS4 I think it to be very poor that EE has taken this long for them to release this update. What is frustrating me more is that I did not entend to update my phone to Kit Kat but the annoying nag screen kept coming up and althought I kept dismissing it, on one occasion, I was connected via WiFi to access the play store and as I went to choose this icon, the nag screen came up and guess what!! the install option was straight in line with the play store !. I really feel let down by EE at the moment as I moved off the last network hoping that EE would be better but it appears I was wrong. I cannot upgrade my phone because my upgrade period has not been reached either so I am stuck with a lump of plastic that was once a great phone on Jelly Bean and now a big lump of plastic with a shoddy battery life, slow to operate whether it is calling, texting or even just unlocking the phone!!!!!!. Please EE sort this upgrade out and please make sure it does not make the phone worse that the Kit Kat version Thank You TimCS

Why is Apple charging for a minor update to FaceTime?

I noticed, through an article in MacNN, that there is an update to FaceTime avaiable - but the update seems to only be available through the AppleStore and Apple wants $0.99 for what they term as a minor update of benefit to SNow Leopard users. Bug fixes should be free.

Get used to it! Seriously, if you don't want to you don't have to pay for it, and right now you don't need to. The touch is not the iPhone. This seemingly obvious observation appears to have been missed by some. You must have access to the internet via Wi Fi (either at home or at a hotspot). So all those pretty icons of maps, weather, stocks are dead in the water unless you are connected (unlike the iPhone people who are always connected). If you really want a screen full of icons just set up an iTapPad page (see webapps) and then you can have up to 10 pages of icons chock full of webapps that you can access for free once connected to the internet, including maps, weather, and a Notes look-alike.
Resident apps, those that sit on your touch and don't require a Wi Fi connection to function, will come from developers and some will possibly be free, but expect to pay for most. They will probably be downloaded through iTunes, and Apple will probably want a slice of the pie (pun intended) for the service.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Delete and reinstall the app
Contact the vendor.

N95 won't update

I recently got a replacement phone from Nokia for my faulty N95.
The previous one did the software updates without a problem whereas this one will not see that updates are available when I use the latest update software.
It is running V10.0.018 RM-159.
Why is this not working as there is definitely an update available.

When trying to update your phones software are you using the Nokia Software Updater?
You could first try typing your product code into
this site to see if there is an update for that product, maybe it is possible they changed your handset for a different version.

N95 Error when updating Adobe Flash player

On my Nokia N95, the Adobe Flash lite player got the version 2.0 built in (that version do not support Flash application ver. 8)
So I tried to update the player on the Adobe web site to Flash Lite 2.1 for Symbian and even tried to install the plug-in Flash Lite 2.1 for Flash Professional 8, but each time, it give me the error message : unable to install. Component already built in. So I would like to know if it's possible to update the Adobe Flash lite player ver. 2 to ver. 2.1 ?

You should look for the Nokia Software Updater and upgrade your device firmware, this will include Flash Lite 3.0

N95: Unable to update to v20

Hi! I have a problem with upgrading to software v20 with my n95. Whenever it downloads the software it fails I tried it on 2 computers and on both I've had the same problem!
I'm having an Euro3 code (for Polish language) on it.
What can be the reason? I'm sure that my internet connection is stable, is that a bug of nokia servers?

Do you have PC Suite v6.85.12.0 or latest v6.85.14.1 installed?
I found that at about 70/115Mb downloaded on a 2meg. broadband connection the "USB connection in PC Suite mode" dropped (watch icon in taskbar on PC) with earlier version. Although it downloaded 115Mb the message "installation failed" appeared because it couldn't find the phone. However if as soon as "USB connection" dropped you click cancel and then continue, it managed to reconnect to allow update to proceed at end of download of 115Mb. I don't know whether this is a "timeout issue" so if faster broadband connection, this scenario may not arise.

N95 : Nokia Software Updater can't find phone

Please help, my N95 has been nothing other than a source of misery since I got it. I'm trying to update the software in a hope that the phone will stop crashing on a regular basis, but NSU doesn't want anything to do with it.
I'm running Windows 2000 and I've used the Nokia site to get the latest version (1.3.85 en) of NSU. I've connected the phone to the computer, Windows detects the phone as expected, but NSU never does. After a long pause I get the extraordinarily useless message:
'Unable to find phone
'1 Please check your phone is switched on and connected to your PC and try locating the phone again
'2 Some phone models require that you select the correct connection type from the phone. In such a case, make sure that you have selected the default or PC Suite mode.
'If the problem persists it means Nokia Software Updater does not support your phone model.'
To answer 1 - the phone is on, connected and I've tried several times.
To answer 2 - I've tried all the modes supported by the N95 including PC Suite mode.
The problem persists, the Nokia site tells me that my phone is supported and that an update is available - so the last part is also wrong.
I've uninstalled NSU, restarted the machine and reinstalled - nothing.
Has anyone got any idea what could be wrong? I'm pretty much at breaking point with the N95 and this is doing nothing to improve my opinion of the machine. I want to like the N95, but it's making things hard. Taking it to a Nokia store is not an option, there are none in my area, there is no over-the-air option to do the update, so I *MUST* use NSU if I want a usable phone.

Thanks for the quick reply, but no luck so far.
My firewall is ZoneAlarm. I switched it off and tried again with the updater - no luck.
I then reinstalled Nokia PC Suite for the N95 *AND* Nokia Software Updater for the N95, restarted Windows (again disabling ZoneAlarm) and tried to reconnect the phone.
Nothing. PC Suite never finds the phone, NSU gives the same useless error message.
Windows DOES see the phone, if I click on the USB Connect/Disconnect icon in the system tray I see:
Nokia N95 USB Phone Parent
However, the little icon has a yellow warning exclamation mark on it which is usually a sign of trouble. Clicking [Properties] tells me:
Device type: Wireless Communication Devices
Manufacturer: Nokia
Location Nokia N95
Device status
This device cannot start
I'm not sure if this is the cause of the problem.
I've tried using various cables, connecting directly to the computer rather than through a hub, USB 1 rather than USB 2, but still no luck.
Is it time to call an exorcist?

Firmware update for N95, its not updating, HELP!!!

I also have a problem on net it is mentioned that latest firmware is 30.0??? and my N95's firmware is 21.0.0.16.
I tried by downloading lateset software updater whenever I tried it says this is most updated one on my mobile, one of cousin has alredy updated his N95. Even I check with the code given on the back of the mobile it shows 21.0.0.16 is the latest one, somebody explain this to me, Please.

It quite still quite possibly be an unlocked but branded handset. Do you see any branding logos when you turn the phone on or do you see any network icons anywhere in the menus?
By the way, a new version of NSU V1.4.64 has just been released. Try that and see if it gives you your update. You can download it from
