N95 Horrible distorted sound when filming at parti...

I had an N70 and everywhere i went i filmed parties with it, great sound as if you are at the party again.
But with the N95 if sounds are just a bit louder than a normal conversation it gets completely distorted and is hopeless for filming at any musical event, on of the reasons i spent my money on the N95.
I assumed that if the N70 gave such good sound qualtiy, the N95 would have at least equal quality sound with the high res camera images.
Not only mine, other n95's have the same problem
Is there any way to fix this?
Any hope it will be fixed in a firmware update?
A seperate video capturing software?
Where can i best report this (terrible) bug?
the nokia music event advertisements make it just a bit more sour that my expensive nokia gives such horrible sound.. :s
so if anybody knows something please let me know..

I don't know why this happens, maybe the location of the microphone or the sensitivity or something else. The fact remains that audio recording is really awful with the built in microphone.
There is one way to improve it and is simple.
Connect the remote and now the remote's microphone will be used instead. I haven't done extensive testing but I've done a couple of trials and this was true.
640K Should be enough for everybody

When I am shooting video with my mini iPad, can I get sound and if so how?

    Hi Nitekitty,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Yes, you can get sound when shooting video with your iPad mini. Take a look at the section "Take photos and videos" section of the iPad Users Guide. See page 85 in the following link:

  • No sound when filming

I´ve had my iPhone4 for about 6 months now but a few weeks ago actually was the first time I used it to make some clips. But when I watch them the day after, there is no sound? All you can hear is noise. No sound either on the phone or the computer, when I move them.
What´s up with that? Is there maybe some settings I´ve missed?
Yesterday I upgraded to iOS 4.3.3 but that didn´t help. When I make voicememos it works fine, I hear all the sounds, loud and clear.
There is nothing blocking the mic.

Yes, I´ve checked that one also. Seems clean imo.
That´s the one in use for recording movies? Which one is in use for the voicememos?

  • In-Ear Headphones distorted sound

    Hi,
Yesterday, 21 days past my one-year warranty, the right in-ear phone now produces distorted sound when the volume is raised.
I have replaced the mesh cap as recommended, but to no avail.
It only the right speaker and is directly related to higher volume.
    Has anyone experienced this?
If so, what was your solution?
    tia,
    Bob

    hi,
if you own an iPhone 3GS and is covered by Apple Care or limited warranty your in-ear headphones get warranty too
you can even apply for DIY.

  • IPod Classic 6th Gen - Distorted sound :-(

Hey folks, my friends iPod Classic 80gb 6th Generation iPod has a crappy distorted sound when tunes are played from it.
He sent it away to get fixed thinking it would be the headphone jack that was the problem - they got back to him and said that it was the Logic board at fault, and charged over £79.99 +VAT for this repair.
When it came back, all seemed to work okay, except a very short battery life.
A week later, the iPod froze with no backlight (the menu was still visible but not reacting to any button presses)
Nothing happened when the charger was plugged in, so we held the Menu Button + the Select button, and it rebooted successfully however the orginal problem came back of distorted sound....:-(
Very unhappy as £79.99 was a lot to pay for it be broken again so soon.
Can anyone shed any light onto why this may of happened?
Was he right by saying it was the logic board at fault?
    Cheers
    James

I haD the same issue, and was thoroughly ticked off until doing some research and then trying couple things.
I was able to change the volume limit, that WAS set at half.  I adjusted it to max volume, set a lock passcode, and away I drove.
Then, upon hitting "play", I began to get a little ticked off.  I realized after a few minutes, I couldn't hear anything playing.
It was so quiet- and I-95 is noisy, with me regretting buying another Apple product, after is wrote not to.
So- after reading through a couple of these threads, I just adjusted the volume limit, and VOILA!
    It reverted to 50%.
So, I did a total wipe, factory-reset it as new iPod.  I checked setting=>volume limit and it was at the 50% point again. First thing that I did was go to the last selection under settings menu, "reset settings" and noted it doesn't delete sync days, solely sys settings.
I adjusted the volume limit to 100% immediately afterwards, set a new passcode and then.....
    Hit play.
It worked. Plays just as loud as my original 3rd Gen iTouch.
So Dylan1219, maybe try that?  It's so simple, I am shocked that's how I fixed it.  It had been set- and always snapped back to the 50% mark.
So, MAYBE that could solve the problem..?  I have hearing loss from rock & roll and concerts, etc...so, thankfully this isn't a bunk product.  Just had a bunk setting.
It has stayed at Max level for hours now, and can state it solved it for me.
I would hypothesize, all iPod classics are made the same, except for the "options"  of storage and color.  Maybe a small "governor" or a piece of extra firmware is added after the fact, or only "every 9th iPod" who knows for sure...?

  • Stop the horrible "PING" sound

    Hi,
How can i stop windows making that horrible "PING" sound when i type into a disabled java text area window?

How can i stop windows making that horrible "PING"
sound when i type into a disabled java text area
window?1. Don't type into a disabled Java text area.
    2. Change "Ding.wav" to "Chord.wav" to make a horrible "CHORD" sound.
    3. Unplug your loudspeaker.
    4. Change your OS.
Seriously, it's a Windows problem not a Java problem.

  • Horrible clicking sound then slience with MIDI data?

When I use the matrix editor occasionally I get a horrible clicking sound when adding a note, moving a note around or resizing a note using the editor.
The clicking sound is then followed by silence and if I stop and start the music then the sound will come back only for the same thing to happen sporadically again.
I have a Intel MacBook Core Duo (black one) and I'm using a Novation X Station as my Audio Interface/sound card. I have the latest version of Logic Pro 7 and can only think that this might have something to do with USB problems as I'm finding it takes a flippin age to load any samples of my external drive and I am running that drive through a USB hub as the only downfall of my MacBook is that it only has 2 USB ports.
Can anyone give me any insight as to what is going on?

I have the exact same problem and I also have a macbook pro. I use the Mackie Onyx satellite as my interface. I don't think it's got anything to do with USB but maybe the sound driver. Any help is appreciated on this.
    Thanks

iPhone warranty is not international, but is valid only in
the country of original purchase. Since you bought the iPhone
in the UK, your warranty is valid anywhere in the EU but not
in Egypt. You can gry taking it to an Apple authorized reseller,
but don't be surprised if they tell you they cannot do anything.

  • DR-BTN200's right ear is louder and left ear part makes weird sound when the volume is high

I bought DR-BTN200 a while ago and I've been feeling that the right ear part is louder than left ear part.
Not because of my hearing; if I switched R and L around, I still hear left (original right) louder than the right (original left).
Also if I increase the volume, the left ear part makes a high pitch sound when singer/talker/instrument makes an emphasis in their voice/sound.
Is this a common problem? I didn't drop it at all or anything and I just keep the headphone in the part of bag where I am supposed to put laptop in. From outside I don't see any damage on it either.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • IPhone 6 Plus speaker sounds distorted with popping sound when phone rings or alerts play.

My iPhone 6 Plus is less than a 2 weeks old but since day one its speaker sounds distorted.   The ringer or alerts or even the new email alert have a popping or clangy sound to them.  Is this a software issue or hardware?  My phone is uptodate and Ive tried hard reboots to try to alleviate the problem but it didn't fix the problem.  Should I try to restore it?  Also, If I take it in to my local Apple store and they replace it, will my new ZAGG screen protector just be a wasted $20???

  • Corrupted Sound When Using IM Programs

I have a HP Pavilion DV5z-1000.  When I use IM programs (so far I have tried Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger), they seem to work fine for a while with both sound and video.  However, after a few minutes, the audio becomes "corrupted".  I hear a horrible rushing, static-like sound.  This will stop after a few minutes but then reoccur.  I have a broadband connection, so I don't think the problem comes from a slow connection.  Additionally, the corrupted sound does not sound like the typical broken or distorted sound you get from a slow connection.  Interestingly, the person on the other end can still hear me and does not hear any of this cacophony.
Any idea what may cause this?  I thought it might be Windows Live Messenger but then tried Yahoo and I get the same result.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the link but it doesn't really solve the problem.
I know it works in VLC, my problem is that I absolutely need to be able to use the clip(s) in iMovie HD because I'm filming a documentary and this is one of the most important interviews.
Even if it means finding a way to split the audio in some other program then importing the audio file I'd be ok with that, but I so far I haven't been able to figure it out...any other suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Imac DV G3 (PPC) speakers suddenly distorted sound output

HI everyone, I just bought an old iMac DV running OS9, and it worked just fine for a few days then - for no reason whatsoever, the stereo speakers suddenly produce very distorted sound, even at low volume. At higher volumes you can even see the speaker cones vibrating.
When it happened, I was just installing a few things with the volume set low, and the alerts suddenly sounded very distorted and remain that way. I didn't blow the speakers by playing loud music or anything like that.
I had nothing to lose, so I reformatted/installed new system but the problem remains.
My guess is that this is an electrical/hardware problem just down to plain old age, perhaps a bad solder joint or something. It's not the end of the world but it just seems strange that it happened so abruptly I did not move or thump the computer in any way.
It's an iMac DV from 1999, given it's age I'm not expecting miracles, but just wondering if anyone else ever had a similar problem and managed to fix it without pulling the computer apart and replacing a hardware component which is way too much hassle!
Were these models' speakers ever known to suddenly crap out with no warning?? Some older macs had design flaws they became notorious for (I'm thinking of my Ti Powerbook G4 hinges, I had that once!)
Is that extra button on the side booting into open firmware of any use? Just a stab in the dark!!!!
    Any ideas/insight anyone?
    Thanks!!!

At higher volumes you can even see the speaker cones vibrating.
That is normal. If they don't move, they don't work.
However, it could be that someone else overloaded the speakers and caused them to fail. I think the first step is to see if the speakers have been damaged. Use a pair of external speakers or headphones and test the sound.
Failed speakers in G3 iMacs are not a wide probelm like the one you mentioned, or bad capacitors in eMacs. Generally, the failure mode is the passive cooling (read, "no cooling") system baking the PAV board until some part of it fails.
