N95; how to save everything to sim?

I have a nokia n95 and my screen has gone blank, so I put my sim in another phone and nothing was saved to my sim, so I was wondering if someone could tell me how to save everything to my sim step by step so I haven't lost everything on my phone. Please. ?

You can't save "everything" to your SIM. The SIM will only hold a limited number of contacts with each one's name a maximum of 16 characters long, and only one number per contact. Contacts with multiple numbers will be converted into multiple contacts, one per number with a different suffix. E-mail addresses, contact photos and postal addresses will be lost.
Your best bet is to use PC Suite or OVI suite to back up your phone's entire content. When you connect the phone to your PC it will ask you which mode to use. Since you can't see the screen you can only guess at what it's displaying. Start by simply pressing the "select" button in the middle of the D-pad and seeing if that connected the phone in PC Suite mode. If it didn't, then disconnect it again (using windows' "disconnect removable device" tool in the system tray if applicable), reconnect the phone, scroll down once and then press "select". If that still doesn't work then disconnect, reconnect and scroll down twice before pressing "select" etc.
You will then be able to perform a full backup and thus keep all your contacts with all their information, your settings and everything else.
Note that this data will only be able to be restored to another Nokia device, and the settings will only be restored on an identical Nokia device.

    Anbody out there?
    Thanks.
Thats not possible.. BTW, why do you want to do that ?
If you want to keep a copy ( back-up) or transfer it to some other Nokia device, you can do it thru' Nokia Suite .
Install the Suite on PC and connect the phone to PC. Open the Suite-->Messaging and then select 'Sync' at the bottom next to the Phone Icon. All messages from the phone will be now visible in the Nokia Suite ( when you select 'Conversations' at the top). Now, disconnect the phone and connect another  phone which is COMPATIBLE to the Nokia Suite.. Select Inbox at the top..Select all messages and Drag and Drop them to Inbox flder next to the Phone icon..Similarly copy messages from other folders and place them in appropriate folder at the bottom ...

  • How to save contacts to SIM Card? I am using Iphone 4

How can i save my contacs from phone memory to Sim card?

You can't. iPhone stores no data on a sim card.
Your carrier may be able to do so at one of their stores, but you can't do so using your phone.

  • N95: how to save COMMUNICATION LOG on PC

As I can see on seach results, there is no way to save communication log by PC Suite.
May be, anybody tried to get this log from backup copy?
Anyway, I hope to see in next version of PC Suite such command as "Save your log"
    Best regards to Nokia programmers!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've found the solution for this problem. It's a tiny (26kb) application called LOG EXPORT. You can download it at adres:
    http://mosh.nokia.com/content/432396B1AABC059FE040050A443073E3
I've just tested it on my N95 - it works!!! LOG EXPORT also can work on N73, E51, N82...

  • Footage in a lot of different places, how to save everything in 1 place?

    Hi,
I want to make backups of some iMovie projects.
When i select "Consolidate Media" from the menu i get a pop-up saying:
"Some clips used in the project are not on the hard disk".
I have a few drives with different partitions.
Some footage is imported directly into iMovie from the camera,
some footage is imported from another camera into iPhoto,
some of the music used in the video is in another folder etc etc.
How can i save this entire project with all of the related files to one folder ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jay

Hmm, as I said, I haven't had time to delve into this (tho I mean to when I have time).
It appears that iMovie now handles things like iPhoto: coordinating separated resources without actually bringing them together in the way Finder organization works.
I'm at the same disadvantage you are: I prefer "Finder-like" organization where one can easily find needed files and put them in a place where they're handy for me to remember and work with.
This is why I now use iPhoto for just temporarily "sharing" photo with iMovie for projects - then I trash the photos from the iPhoto Library and keep the originals archived / backed up either on an external drive or (sometimes) on DVD. Obviously, unless you're at the professional level with massive storage capacity at hand, storing even "average" video output soon becomes a challenge.
A friend does outstanding "home videos" - but he keeps only the finished DVDs for copying. He trashes all his video raw stock. I suspect few would use this method because there's always those clips we want to keep for new or different projects.
OTH - you might consider (from the above) just moving the stock in iPhoto to the Trash, gathering that material with the material in other places to one folder. I don't see at this time another way of accomplishing what you (we) want to do.
We can also hope that someone else has found a better way to deal with this "scattering" and will post their solution here.

  • 9i - How to save  everything in one tablespace and put back in later?

I'm trying to do a very simple refresh of a 9i database. Basically shutting it down and copying all the dbfs and redo files, then creating new controlfiles. However, the database that is the source does not have one dbf (and tablespace) that the target does. I plan on dropping the one extra dbf, and refreshing the target tb, then adding in the dbf and all it's objects.
I have already done this partly but have had problems. I'm not getting all the objects that are supposed to be there. I had to recreate the user that owns all the tables in the extra dbf tablespace. Plus, how do I make sure all the permissions are reset on these objects?
I am using TOAD, so I had tried the export feature and did get most of the info. I know how to create the dbf and recreate the user. Help?

Not a good way to do refresh in this way.
Use exp/imp to refresh or maintain exact same structure between database(s). You can then use rman's duplicate method for this purpose.

  • How to save psd files...

how to save psd files so other can change (with all fonts and Layers)
I need to know how to save everything in the psd so others still can use it.??

    Hi,
If you have photoshop and you are working on it and have used layers , fonts , and other things
Then after completing your work, click save and it will open save Box,
make sure the file format in the box should be PSD and then you may save the file and then you can share with any one.
Any one who has Photoshop will be able to open that file and can edit the layers and fonts..

  • How to save our ipod on our computer ?

do somebody know how to save everything from our ipod on our computer ? because i don't wanna lose everything from my ipod after my updates, thanks,

You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabilng the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software availbable to assist you with this task.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

  • When I import my contacts from the sim they do not save and I cant see how to save them?

When I import my contacts from the sim they do not save and I cant see how to save them? Anyone ideas?

Hi. I saved the contacts from previous phone onto the sim. I'm going to 'Import SIM Contacts". After I've imported the contacts and go to Contatcs after that they are all there, but they seem to disappear again as if they're not saved. This happens no matter how many times I import them.
