N95 Mac OSX (Leopard) Internet Sharing "No Gateway...

I have a new 13-inch MacBook with Leopard and a brand new N95. I have been trying to share my ethernet connection to the N95 with Internet sharing through my airport card. I keep getting No Gateway Reply messages and haven't connected my phone to the internet yet.
I have searched around the web and in these forums and can't find a fix. Can anyone help me, please? I'm getting very frustrated.
Thanks...

Do you have any other Macs or devices to test the Internet Sharing?
Enable "Web Sharing" on the Mac Book and attempt to visit http:/// via your phone. value will be display when you enable Web Sharing.
My understanding of "No Gateway Reply" is the outgoing request (eg. http get) was successful, however the response was unable to reach/return back to the caller. This could be a DHCP lease problem or a connectivity issue.
You may already been to these sites, but they may offer some alternatives:

  • CF8 on Mac OSX Leopard

    Hi All
Got my new Macbook Pro (OSX version 10.5.2), need to setup
CF8.... I tried installing CF8 using the Mac's Apache Web Server
and ran into configuration issues. Ran out of time, so I
uninstalled and tried to install CF8 using CF's built in web server
(and run from port 8500). I got the same result - I couldn't run CF
because it wouldn't start, couldn't bring up
    http://127.0.0.1:8500/cfide/administrator/index.cfm
Does anyone have a straight forward path of installing CF8 on
the Mac OSX Leopard? I have uninstalled CF and don't want to move
forward until I get a warm and fuzzy from someone who's already
    done this.... anyone?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

Good news! Adobe has released ColdFusion 8.01, which among
    many other
    fixes and enhancements, supports Leopard!
You can get it by downloading the Developers Edition now.

    Hi Bjorne,
Looks like I've got the same issue, only with Flash Player 9 Silent installer on Mac OSX Leopard. Did you find a workaround?

  • MBP running Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8 cannot get past login screen even in safe boot

Help!  I have a Macbook Pro purchased in 2009, running Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8 which froze while running Adobe Illustrator.  On reboot, it won't allow me to go past the login screen.  I tried starting up from the disc, running disk verification and repair and repairing disk permissions, and trying to start up in safe boot, all to no avail.  When the login screen comes up it gives the name of my hard drive with a (2) after it, which seems strange.  Any suggestions short of reinstalling the system software?  I don't want to lose my applications/data!

My 1 year old MBP running OSX has got more sluggish. The little multicolored spinning timer wheel keeps appearing a lot more now, and I hate it! My MBP takes drastically longer to boot when i turn it on as opposed to when I just got it. My web pages take a long time to load. Can anyone help me? WHat can I do to speed up my MBP. I am a novice mac user. Again my mac is getting slower by the day and i dont know how to increase its overall performance. Is there any simple software that can boost overall performance or will I have to reformat my MBP? I have a 200gb HD with 50 gb free and 4 gb of ram.
    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Launch the Activity Monitor utility. Pull down the list near the top and set it to "All Processes". Click on the "CPU" column heading to put the highest CPU consumers at the top. Also click on the "CPU" tab in the lower part of the window to check the value for "% Idle". If that value is much above zero, check the other categories for signs of resource problems. If nothing there points to a possible problem, launch the Console utility and look for messages that might suggest a problem. If you see messages that you have trouble interpreting, post them here and someone should be able to help.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 and Mac OSX Leopard 10.5

I did an Erase and Install of Mac OSX Leopard 10.5... so it's
    a clean install.
I installed the Adobe Web Premium software (full, not
    upgrade).
Dreamweaver has been CRASH city. Try to merge some tables...
crash. Try to copy past a graphic from one page to another...
crash. Try to connect to a MySQL database.... crash. Trying to work
on a website I must have had 10 crashes in the last hour.
Is there an upgrade needed to CS3 to work correctly on
    Leopard?

    David thanks so very much!!!
After hours of looking for a solution i went into the
    following folders
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application
    Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/Configuration
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application
    Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/configuration-1
removed the files as you said above
    MacFileCache[random_numbers].dat
and hey presto, restarted Dreamweaver and it loaded, but for
one time only, then the problem started again where it would tell
me there is an ftp error and cannot connect to the remote host,
then when i clicked ok, it would tell me there as an eror trying to
    load an empty document.
My problems started after upgrading leopard MacOSX 10.5.
However, it seems that this problem is persistant everytime i
restart Dreamweaver, do you know how i can permanantly solve this
    and why its being caused?
    Thanks

  • Compatibility issues with Mac OSX Leopard 10.5 and Word 2004 11.6.3 on G5 PowerMac?

Are there compatibility issues with Mac OSX Leopard V. 10.5 and Word 2004 11.6.3 when installed on a PowerMac G5? I understand the Leopard upgrade is okay on the later Intel Mac, but what about my G5 PowerPC Mac?

I do not use Microsoft Excel much but when i do use it it works fine on my G5. my powerbook has excel to but sometimes freezes on the powerbook. but not the G5 so give it a try you can always uninstall it if it does not work good

  • Mac OSX Leopard

My daughter was wondering if she could download Mac OSX Leopard on her HP Laptop that i bought her this christmas. So I was wondering if someone could answer this question.

She honestly only wants it for Photobooth, iChat and Garageband...
    She's a musician...
By the way do anyone know of a program similar to either of these?
That's three probrams, not 2 and Photobooth and Garageband come with a new Mac, not with Leopard.
Tell her to buy a new MacBook then she will have all of that and more and will still be able to use all her Windows programs.

  • How do i install Mac OSX Leopard on other drive

how do i install Mac OSX Leopard on a drive other than my Snow Leopard computer? I need to access old files that will not open with new OS.

Simple. When you get the prompt to install Snow Leopard on your existing computer you will see a button that says "change destination disk..." or words to that effect.
You can select any mounted volume. If that volume already has a later version of OS X installed, you will need to erase it first using Disk Utility.

  • I'm trying to access a Mac OSX xserve's shared folder from a windows xp pc

So I'm trying to access the Shared Folders on a Mac OSX Xserve Server. this server does not provide authentication or home folders, etc. Pretty much using it for network storage. I've been able to successfuly connect to the folders using Windows 7, but the Windows XP computers will not connect. I keep getting a "You might not have permission to this folder" etc dialog box popup.
This is my method of connection. Start -> Run -> \\1.1.1.1 -> Enter.  I see the folders. I double click on the folder icon to access the folder, i get a login dialog box. On the Windows 7 machine I typed in my LOCAL MACHINE'S username and password. Success! On the XP machine, I do the exact same thing and receive the error.
    please Help!
the Macs on my network (96% of users) have absolutely no problem connecting to the server using ⌘K in Finder

Try mapping the drive as normal and then see what happens.

  • Installing Mac OSX Leopard Server 10.6 on a Mac Air

    Hi
Im trying to install Mac OSX Server 10.6 on a Mac Air which have Lion developer preview 4 on it, i try to install from
a .dmg file thats stored in the downloads folder when it runs it give me a message "resturt to begin installation" with a
restart button, i click it and then computer restarts and nothing happens why ?
also the server file is big 7 GB so i failed to burn it on dvd or copy to external hard disk and install from there

You will want to use a external double-layer (DL) DVD disk that you've recorded, or use an external disk configured to boot the distro.
Also make a full backup of your boot disk before you load this, as there is no "downgrade" option to get back to whatever version of Snow Leopard client you might be using on the box.
Please (also) read the HT4313 support article.
    And for completeness...
This particular configuration isn't supported by Apple.
Mac OS X Server doesn't "like" DHCP addressing, and that can be common on portables.

Then why bother with Leopard? Go straight to Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is once again available from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade all the way to Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • Mac OSX Leopard 64-bit!!??

Hello all, as you probably already know, the new Mac OSX is 64-bit!!
Is there going to be a 32-bit version?
I no many programs that will not work on the 64-bit version and the company´s wont bring out a update for it.
Autodesks 3ds MAX and MAYA will no longer work!!
Maxon´s Cinema 4D will also not work!!
This needs to be sorted out either by apple or Autodesk/Maxon!
    Thanks
    TSnail

Why would 32 bits applications wouldn't work on Leopard ?
    We're not in Microsoft !
The fact is that Leopard is developed to be fully compatible with 32 bit applications, the proof to this is that when you look in architecture panel in a Xcode project... You know where you choose between Intel or PPC or both architectures ? Well those two options disappeared in Leopard version, now you have the choice between 32 or 64 bit architecture or both !
I don't think Apple would enable the choice between 32 and 64 architecture if the 32 bits was incompatible !
Steve Jobs even presented a comparison of 32 bit and 64 bit application at WWDC Keynote.
I think Leopard is even able to work on 32 bit processors !
So, no worries about compatibility !

  • How do i remote desktop to my mac which has internet shared to it?

    Hello,
I am very new to remote desktop.
I am trying to connect to my iMac at my office, using my macbook pro at home. However the iMac has internet shared to it from another iMac.
The imac locally  has an ip address starting with 10.x.x.x . I am able to connect to it using my macbook pro in my office, but i am unable to do so at home.
The other complication is the imac and the imac i am sharing internet from seem to have the same IP (a 192.36.x.x.x one).
Any suggestion on how to over come this ?

  • Can't install Mac OSX via Internet recovery onto my new SSD

I just installed an SSD in my Macbook Pro 2012 (non Retina), but when i try to reinstall Mac OSX 10.7 via Internet recovery it doesn't recognize the new Drive (it does appear in disk utility when connected to another mac externally.) Please Help.

reinstall Mac OSX 10.7 via Internet recovery
The only folks who can get a free copy of Mac OS X 10.7 via Internet recovey are those who bought it previously. If you removed your old drive, and its Recovery_HD with your Apple_ID in it, how do you expect Apple to know who is asking for this download?
There are more reliable ways to do what you want to do.
Is you old drive still operable?
Do you have an external enclosure or another drive over 20GB?
    Do you have another Mac?
Do you have a spare USB stick?
