N95 Navigation/Paying/Trail Period...etc

Right, after reading loads of posts, prior to posting this, I think I have finally got it...so a simple yes/no would suffice.
The navigation on the N95 you get working by downloading the maps application via the nokia site and installing in your phone. Once you have done this you can update bits using WiFi or what ever system you like (or use the PC nokia mapper and upload a whole map to your phone). Once you have enough info on the maps you can find places and run routes.
Easy. You pick a place to route to and route from. GPS usually finds itself after a minute or so and you view the route, and run it etc etc.
This works for about 3 days, without purchasing the Navigation Voice. I was under the impression that this was totally free and all you needed to do was upload stuff. If you wanted the voice then you had to pay, but you still got the rest. Well, I was happy without using the voice but it seems you DO need to purchase the voice after the trial period is up (£47 a year).
I understand the theory and the costs in that with some systems you pay for map updates but on Nokia you won't. Still, it's a bit annoying when I've just filled my memory with maps! Still, it's good for searching for pubs if you are lost in London!

Depends how much you will be using it i suppose.
The navigation on the N95 is sufficient for me as I only use it on odd occasions. If I was using a sat nav everyday, I would probably go for the tom-tom or garmin just because of their screen size and the ease of keeping the tom-tom for sat nav at the N95 for my phone instead of using the N95 for everything.
The N95 does the job though and £52 for 3 years is pretty good value even if you only use it a handful of times each year.
Might be an idea to get hold of a in car charger if you're going to use it on long journeys though.
