N95 (not 8gb)

I upgraded the software/firmware on my N95 as I get a new n97 tomorrow (not sure if that is a good thing or a bad one?). Anyway now that I have upgraded it I can not get it to sync with my laptop? Laptop is windows vista and office 2007. I have tried a search, but no luck.
Anyone help?
Paul

if you have a problem to restore your data on the n95 and pc suite cannot do it, you can try a software called "noki"  from http://www.nokisoft.com/ it is able to open your backup made with pc suite.
If you need backup the data to restore them on the n97, you can use the function "switch" on the n97 that will copy almost all data from your n95

  • Rotate screen - help!! N95 not 8gb

When i play my music (and slide my phone down to do it), my nokia automatically rotates to landscape which is cool, but then when i close it it doesn't rotate back unless i slide up to reveal the keypad and then back down again. Now i have tried to download rotateMe using all this symbian signed business but have had no luck - i'm probably too thick in fairness! Is there any settings on my phone to sort it out so it goes back to portrait screen without sliding up and down? Or even better a freeware application which automatically turns to landscape and back to portrait when you turn the phone which unlike rotateMe you don't have to get signed????
    Thanks for your help

  • Recharging battery via USB - N95-2 8GB

Does somebody know why isn't possible to recharge the batteries via USB cable in the N95-2 8GB? Hope is not just my phone.
So far I remember connecting a Nokia N73 and a SE M600i to my laptop at work and both recharged the battery while connected.
Why they took that option away?

I always wondered about this, charging from the USB - when I got my N95 initally I assumed it did charge from the USB - much like other handsets do.
I'm not aware of any Nokia phone that charges via the USB connector. (not being aware is not the same as there isnt one!) The maximum current of a USB jack is only 500mA when connected directly to the Host port. Even then the controller is not supposed to supply all that power, unless a routine in the device requests it.
There are moves to try and standardise the connector:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/09/21/omtp_data_standard/
To a mini USB across all the manufacturers but I doubt this will be soon.
I don't think the firmware will allow for adding this function, as the 5v power will need to be routed in the hardware to the phone's charging circuit. If the software were a problem then I see no reason or way that it would be disabled, (would need some kind of switching device to disable it extra hardware in the charging circuit etc)
I'm not sure if there is something more than just connecting the power in the CA-100 - I have one of them and it gets a bit warm, so perhaps there is a resistor or regulator in it for some reason.
The phone will (in the firmware) will also need to request the system to provide the full 500mA to it (should the phone need it)
I have many Nokia Chargers, some are 5.7v some are 5.0v some are 300mA some are 800mA. Perhaps if there is also a "One size fits all" then somekind of control/conversion from the 5v to a different voltage will also be required in the phone.
I recall the Nokia 2110 would have a problem with an onboard transistor that used to fail, and subsequently the phone wouldn't charge the battery, even though the meter was showing full. Perhaps this is the lesson that Nokia learnt all those years ago
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

  • N95(not 8G) KEEPS ASKING TO REMOVE MEMORY CARD

I bought my N95(not 8G) about 4 months ago(second hand) and about 2 months after I bought it I started getting a message saying ,please remove memory card and press ok.
It didn't come with a memory card so I fitted one from my old Nokia 6110(1gig) .Anyway I reloaded the N95 software from the nokia website, and this fixed my hassel for about a month, and now the ""remove memory card and press ok"" is back again.
Also I can access everything on the card with no problems till this happens, then I have to switch the phone off and restart it.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be appreciated
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

found this info on another part of this forum, does it work ???  and as I don't have the original card what can I do ???
This is a common issue...here how I upgraded my n95 to 8 gig
insert 8gig sd card into usb reader(thumb drive attachment comes with sandisk 8 gig)
    USE GHOST (disk image software)
make a disk image of old sd card
    insert 8 gig sd card
restore image to 8 gig and select the following options
    expand partition to fit drive
    and convert partition to fat32
This works perfectly and the phone thinks its the old sd card
    Kudos! Thanks!

    Hi nolimit966
Although of no help in your present situation, keep this in mind for future reference although you do need a memory card reader. I have always progressed through increasingly larger Sandisk cards (not even formatting) 4,6,8 and now 16GB by just copying contents (enabling Show hidden & System files) of existing memory card to desktop of PC and back to new card without issue.

  • N95-2 8GB

    Hi
    Just replaced my N95 with N95-2 8GB.
I need to transfer all data from N95-1 to N95-2, including contacts, saved locations on Maps, wireless settings, internet settings, SMSs, etc.
Does anyone know whether the N95-1 PC backup could be restored onto the N95-2. Is the software compatible?
Also, apart from 8GB memory, what are the key diffs between the two phones?

    Nogeek
I dont see a problem. Worth a try.

  • N95 NOT the 8Gb version.

Hi! I am buying an N95 phone so I would like to ask some questions about it.
    1. Does it have alot of bugs?
    2. I heard that the slider is a little "lose"?
    3. The battery is obviously bad?
    4. Can you turn off the camera sounds? Like put the phone profile to silent?

1, Depending on FW version. V20 is pretty good.
2, Some are, some are not.
3, No better or worse than 8GB version
4, Depends on our product code. The Euro coded versions you can silence the shutter by putting the pone into silent.
The best way to get a quick response is to use the boards. Please do not be offended if I don't answer emails immediately.

  • "Installation" after restart bug [N95-2/8gb v20]

Seems that a lot of N95-2 users are getting that "installation" error when restarting the phone.
I think that any installed themes on the 8gb is causing that "installation" error every phone restart.
    Can anyone confirm?
    Thanks

In the end my operator agreed to replace the handset for me after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing. In my opinion the problem was caused by a faulty memory chip.
    Alex
p.s. - the old handset was sent to the operator for repair and they were unable to repair it, only offer a refurbished replacement. With the greatest of respect, it's good to know my case is not unique!

  • N95-4 8GB US Version

So, when will firmware version 30 come out for the Nokia N95-4 US 8GB?

  • N95 not compliant with Lotus Traveller

    Hi,
I am N95 8g user. Recently I installed Notes Traveller and setup everything to make it work but I stuck at the end with security module which is non-compliant. Notes Traveller demands alphanumric Phone lock password, but N95 only provides numeric password support. [0-9].
Is there any way I can setup alphanumric password for phone lock or any security model which can make it work.
Anyone using N95 with Notes Traveller sucessfuly?
    Please help!!!
    Thanks in Advance..

Slightly puzzled as MfE compatible with N95 8GB as here http://europe.nokia.com/PRODUCT_METADATA_0/Find_products/Nokia_for_Business/pdf/Mail_for_Exchange_Da...
seems to require an alphanumeric password.
Happy to have helped forum with a Support Ratio = 42.5

  • Macbook (White 2010) works with 5GB of RAM but not 8GB

I bought 2 x 4gb modules the other day. I tried to install them both on my macbook which although supposedly supports 4 gb of ram but others have proven it will support up to 8gb. I installed them then booted up my Mac but it would not start it merely kept beeping.
However when i used one of the modules with one of the previous modules i.e 5gb in total, my computer turned on and is working. Why don't both of the modules work together? How come I am unable to get 8gb of RAM but I am able to get 5gb? Both modules work when i use them with a 1gb module, but they don't work together. Any Advice?

Yeah the 4gb is being recognised, my mac is running off the 5 gb in total. True, but i've seen videos where people have the exact same mac as me and have 8gb RAM. But yeah thanks for your help guys

  • Bluetooth n95 not working with headset

i have recently bought the motorola s9 bluetooth stereo headset. there are a couple of problems. it works fine to connect for the first time using the code on the phone. then if i turn the headset off and on it connects and immediatly disconnects. this is a problem but not a major one.
the biggest problem is the music cuts out all the time for a couple of seconds. i have tried placing the phone right next to the headset and it stil happens. i have read the other n95 forums and see this is very common with the new firmware (i had already installed new firmware so i dont know if this happened on the old firmware).
does anyone else have this problem with another headset or can anyone give me a solution. how often does firmware come out. and is it possible to delete the new firmware.

Same problem here, unfortunately - iPhone 3G & 3.0 do not work with both the SHB6100 and SHB7100 by Philips.
    Philips SHB6100 + iPhone 3G 3.0: A2DP *does not work*
Philips SHB6100 + Nokia and SE phones: A2DP works
    Philips SHB6100 + MacBook Leopard: A2DP works
    Sony DR-BT30Q + iPhone 3G 3.0: A2DP works
Complaining here, however, is not really going to help as these are user to user forums and there is nothing users can do to fix this. Please report this issue at the Apple iPhone Feedback page @ http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
