N95 on O2 - what firmware?

I'm a new N95 user (at last!!) and so far love the phone. Unlike Orange and Vodafone, O2 seem to leave the phone pretty intact so I have options like the internet telephony still present thankfully. However, I noticed that the firmware is only v11.0.026 which is from 17th 4th 2007 apparently. I know the latest version is just breaching v12.
Do other O2 users have the same version installed? Are there any major bugs known in this version that would make it worthwhile trying to get generic firmware installed or is it considered stable? Oh so this version doesn't have A-GPS? That's actually good for me, I was worried it might be switched on and eat up data. I don't intend to use the internal GPS unit as I have an external LD-3W which was used with my N80. Paired with the N95 it seems to lock a lot faster than when I was using it with my N80.
If that's the main missing feature and problem I'll probably live with it for now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

No you would get the firmware for the standard N95.

Question for Mac Pro owners w/Pioneer DVR-112D superdrive: what firmware?

For those whose Mac Pro came pre-installed with the Pioneer DVR-112D superdrive, what firmware revision is it running?
The reason I'm asking is that I have an aftermarket 112D, bought from OWC, that I purchased for it's rip/burn speed advantage over the pokey, possibly riplock crippled, Sony DW-150A that came with my Mac Pro. This advantage was indeed gained, but at the expense of living with some quirkiness with the drive, namely the "two-ejects required" problem discussed here:

This quirkiness has gotten worse since the latest Mac Pro EFI firmware update on 09/27/07. Now if I'm watching a movie from a DVD in the 112D tray, any extended pause (and by extended I only mean more than a minute or so) causes an unrecoverable error in DVD Player and I'm forced to restart the DVD Player and restart the movie.
My suspicion is that this all has something to do with some (overzealous?) power management feature in Mac OS X that's not playing nice with the existing 112D firmware (I'd be interested in hearing any other plausible theories).
Currently, my 112D firmware is at revision 1.06. There a number of updated firmware revisions for the 112D circulating on the internet, PC centric, of course and mostly related to disabling region-locking etc.
I'd like to match my 112D firmware to whatever Mac Pro owners with a 'bona-fide' 112D enjoy, if it's publicly available somewhere.

Multiple SSIDs: what firmware to use?

I have a WRT54GL, and I've heard some of those open-source firmwares allow you to create multiple SSIDs. I have some computers that use WPA, and one computer that uses WEP. So I'd like to be able to create one SSID for WPA clients, and another SSID for WEP clients. And also a third SSID for guests. What firmware will allow me to do that easily?

I am not sure that Open Source Firmware work properly or not .....

Either 4 or 5 - but if it's not the latest version then you can update to it yourself for free (and if you do it before adding any content to it then you don;t have to worry about potentially losing any content during the content) :

I would like to know what firmware version (1.1.1 or etc.)of iphone if I buy it from www.apple.com

It is my understanding that if you buy a new iPhone directly from Apple or AT&T the iPhone will contain 1.1.1 firmware.
I have also seen where some people have stated that they have received firmware of an earlier level when their iPhones have been replaced. This is not a problem since an update in these cases can be easily accomplished to bring the iPhone up to 1.1.1.

1.1.1 - there are other forum topics on this exact same topic.
If you by a phone that uses 1.0.2 you will NOT be able to activate it until you update to 1.1.1 - you get a prompt right on the activation screen that says update and will not proceed until you do.

N95 bluetooth services, and firmware

Problem:
- I am trying to use N95 as a bluetooth control for my PC. There is a Java software (Moccatroller) that has server/PC Java application and client/phone applcation. However, I can not establish valid (serial?) connection with that server application via bluetooth. On the other hand, PC Suite works fine: synchronising, transfer of music and pictures, etc - works perfectly.
I am not using Bluesoleil, but I tried it because i wanted to see if i can discover where is the problem. using Bluesoleil I could not find any bluetooth services of myu N95. It says something about not being able to detect any services from my N95. Other phones work ok and have servces such as object push, serial com, etc. Then, I unistalled Bluesoleil and tried to see if some services are available from classic b.tooth software (? one that came with PC Suite or my btooth USB dogle). However, only DUN service is available with my N95. I tried with other phone, and one more service was availabe - Serial Port (SPP) COM11. I believe that is the service i need to run the remote control software i mentioned in previous paragraph.
Questions:
1. Is this the normal behaviour of N95?
2. How can I make more bluetooth services available from my N95 (specially serial port)?
3. Will firmware upgrade solve my problem?
4. What are new features and improvements in firmware 12 compared to version 10 that i have installed.

It's been a while since you posted this, so you have probably already stumbled on this solution.
I have a Jabra Cruiser rather than a Jabra Freeway, but I expect the same trick will work.
When I get out of my vehicle, I slide the switch on the Jabra to the off position. When I return to the vehicle, my BlackBerry automatically connects to the BlackBerry Music Gateway when I start the vehicle. When I turn on the Jabra after that, it autoconnects. Music goes to the Gateway, but phone calls go to the Jabra.

N95 FW v20 - what apps can be removed?

What apps can be removed from newest FW on N95-1 without endanger Nokia's warranties? (A lot of clutter and useless programmes)
And how do you remove them?

Only apps that show in the app manager can be removed. The rest are built into the firmware and cannot be removed.
Have you considered moving the icons of programs that you hardly use to the bottom of the list or to a seperate folder (if possible)?

N95 (RM-159) GER (Firmware)

i have read in september that nokia have release a new firmware for N95. I have try the NSU but he shows me 21.0.016 only! (This is what i have!) My phone is branded by Vodafone.
What can i do to install the new firmware? Or isnt it release in germany right now?

I have many severs screen bug with my N95 8Go.
Firmware is V35.0.001
Phone info is RM-320.
Since yesterday, my screen lighting going off and the screen become black, zoomed or pink in random times. The screensaver is always flashing.
I think it is a FW bug, because my phone has sudden no shocks and the screen connector is correctly linked and no oxidation are present.
What you think about it ?
Do I reinstall the FW to fix this bug ?
I can't downgrade because it's the lastest FW version.
The phone isn't new, I buy it in operator store two years ago.
PS : I am French, and I am sorry if my English is so terrible

Have you installed any theme into your phone recently? Some themes, which come from unreliable sources, cause problems like this.
If you haven't installed any theme, it's probably a hardware problem. So, you will have to take your phone to a Nokia Care Point.
