N95 PC Connection

when I start PC Suite and plug my phone into my PC it crashes my system, I'm using Vista 64, is this a driver compatibility issue? can anyone help?

you need to be able to read the message in the bluescreen to get any further in analysing the cause of the problem.
If your computer restarts automatically and yoiu don't have time to read the text, disable the auto-restart: Go to My computer | Control Panel | System | Advanced tab | Startup and recovery settings button | deselect the 'automatically restart on failure' option.
Then connect the phone, wait for the bluescreen and read what is in the text. Most likely there is an error code, write it down and use google to search for topics concerning the error message, maybe you will find a possible cause for the problem.

I am trying to get the N95 to connect to the internet wirelessly through Orange Livebox (UK). I have run the WLAN wizard and the phone has identified it. I have input the WEP key and thats worked fine.......except everytime I try to connect to the net via this method I get a connection error. Has anybody else had WLAN connection problems? Can anybody help?

    hi,
did you press "1" button at the back of the Livebox before pairing ?
what kind of error message do you get on the N95 ?
does it fail the same way when you go through the homescreen "WiFi scanning / Start Web Browsing" or through Tools / WLAN Wizard ?

  • N95 Bluetooth connection with car

I drive an AUDI A6. Before I got my N95 I had a Sony/Ericsson i800. When I connected this phone with my car (Bluetooth), everything can be done from the car environment such as lookin for phonebook entries, selection of entries, dialing etc.
With my N95 I can connect with my car and I can use the hands-free speeking system ... but only this! I can't read any phonebook entry, calling list etc.
Is there any trick to open the phone directory for use in bluetooth mode?
Best regards and thanks in advance.

Having just bought a new Audi A6 Le mans 3.0tdi quattro Avant - I was keen to find a solution to this bluetoth/phonebook problem. I too have the Nokia N95 and can confirm that the above link works 100%. Firstly you need to have Nokia PC Suite installed on you PC & phone .. then download the application and save to your pc. With your phone now connected to your pc.. download the saved application to the phone... [ make sure bluetooth is off and not paired to your car ]
Once installed on your phone - go to your car & connect/pair via bluetooth.... go to applications and run the application. It took a couple of minutes "processing " .... then switches to " transferring " ... again a minute or so.... Job Done.. My phone book is now integrated with the car and the MMI.
Thanks for the above link. http://europe.nokia.com/A4143881

  • N95 modem connection problem

Hi everybody, I was wondering if there's anybody that can help me with my problem with my N95....I tried to use my N95 as a modem and connected it to my laptop to acces the internet via USB Cable, installed the latest PC Suite ver. 6.86.
The installation and everything else were fine, I'm with T-Mobile USA and I have T-Zone package...launched PC Suite and hit "Connect to the Internet" button, at first it didn't connect successfully but after I changed the settings manually it successfully connected (I used wap.voicestream.com for the access point and leaving everything else blank) BUT when I tried to open Internet Explorer I get this error message:
    HTTP ERROR: $CODE$
    $MESSAGE$
    RequestURI=/
Don't know what it means and how to fix it, I even created a new connection manually and it connected successfully but everytime I tried to open Internet explorer or goto any website I get that error...I'm using Windows XP SP2....I really need to get this to work as I'll be needing internet access while on the road...thanks in advance!

    Hi,
the autogenerated modem has the setting
    at+cgdcont=,,"internet"
the string you mentioned seems to be wrong, probably the "ip" must be before the "internet"... changing the string does not give any changes in the behaviour - still 234 bytes received...
but then I changed the "internet" to "internet.t-d1.de" (because I am a customer of T-Mobile in Germany) -> and everything works fine!!!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There may be a few ways to go around this.
-Perhaps you may try opening the web browser > options > clear privacy data > all.
-If this does not help then go to the menu > tools > settings > connections > access points > scroll down to the router and delete the access point and try using the WLAN wiz to redefine the access point.
Mark me a KUDOS if this has helped...

  • N95 Problem Connecting to PC

I plugged my N95 into the computer via USB lead, and i go to data transfer, then a sign appears on my phone saying 'USB data transfer mode activacted.Memory card not acessible from phone during this time.'If i do get on to music manager a sign also appears telling me,'phone not connected'Could somebody please tell me how to sort this problem out? Thanks.

gaynor if you want to use Nokia PC Suite and the Music Manager part of it, you need to have
    Nokia PC Suite
    PC Connectivity SOlution
    Nokia Connectivity Cable driver installed
check that you have fromcontrol panel -add/remove programs.
When you connect cable and choose pc suite mode from phone, check from device manager in pc (right click my computer - manage - device manager)
IFyou see devices with yellow ? mark, right click that and select uninstall.
Then go to programs list and run a change - repair to pc suite and connectivity solution.
    Boot PC
and now connect cable again and wait until cable drivers are automatically installed, then you should be connected

  • Nokia N95 SIP connection disconnecting

I have been using a SIP provider on my Nokia N95 for months.
Since two days it started disconnecting the Wireless LAN and would not connect to the SIP profiles. I have reconfigured the settings as well. Same service works fine on computer.
Could it be a bug or there is a solution for this behaviour?

Make sure you've entered the realm correctly in the registrar settings. That's a classic gotcha.
And before you ask, no, I don't know what the realm is for your system.

  • NOKIA N95 INTERNET CONNECTION (HSDPA)

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A NEW NOKIA N95. I JUST LOVE IT AND ALL THE FEATURES ABOUT IT. MY SERVICE PROVIDER IS CINGULAR AND I AM UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE MEDIA NET AT ANY HIGHER SPEED THAT EDGE. I LIVE IN THE ATLANTA, GEORGIA AREA AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE HSDPA SERVICE IS AVAILABLE AT LEAST IN GREATER DOWNTOWN ATLANTA AREA. I DROVE DOWN TO MIDDLE OF ATLANTA AND NO SUCH SERVICE WAS AVAILABLE. CAN ANYONE TELL ME (1) DOES CINGULAR RECONGIZE THE N95? (2) IF THEY DO NOT, WHAT OTHER NETWORK DOES PROVIDE THE BLAZING ANDSIZZLING HOT SPEEDS OF 3G COMBINED WITH HSDPA? I NEED THE SPEED OF THE BROWSER TO COMPLETE THE BEAUTY AND GLORY OF THE PHONE. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP? THANKS!

Unfortunately the only Nokia device that Cingular support with their 3G network is the upcoming N75. For all of us in the States with the N95, we can only use EDGE.

  • N95 Bluetooth connection with carkit

Hi, I have just purchased a new car with included bluetooth via the radio. I have managed to pair my N95 to the car, so everytime I get in the car, the phone shows connected to my car and the radio shows connected to phone.
HOWEVER, I cannot make any calls or receive calls. When I try to make a call it tells me in the radio 'No Network'. I have called the car sales people, they told me it should work. Phoned my provider (3) and they told me its nothing to do with them, as I can actually make calls from my headset while sitting in the car.
So the problem seems to be with the car. When I switch on the remote sim access, I cannot call from the handset while the car is running. It's weird. My partner has a Nokia as well, and that works without a problem.
Any ideas anyone? I've seen lots of threads about similar issues, but no real solutions.

Manufacturer carkits have pretty bad track records connecting to phones via bluetooth. I myself had plenty of problems until I got the software on the carkit updated.
For a start, make sure you have the latest firmware for both phone and carkit. You should should then delete the pairing on both the carkit and phone and then repair. It is worth trying this a few times if it still doesn't work. I did this about 5 times before it finally worked and has been working since, touch wood.

  • Nokia N95 Not Connecting

I have a T-mobile N95 which I have from my brother. It has no sim or memory card yet as I'm waiting for a sim-only purchase to arrive with T-mobile (phone is still locked to T-mobile)
I was trying to connect to the PC, it recognises something when I attach it via the original cable but the Nokia PC Suite is unable to make a connection
I can't see what this has to do with a lack of Sim card for now. I have even tried downloading the latest version of Pc Suite. I use Windows XP. It links via blue tooth but not cable
Please help, I love the look of the N95 but it wont help if I can't link to my comupter

  • N95 Wifi Connection Problem "No gateway"

I am having a dsl broad band internet connection. It is connected to my desktop computer. I bought a new usb wireless (alpha). I would like to connect  n95 to the internet through the wireless which is coonected to my desktop.
    Thanks in advance

    I did like mentioned below
    Enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
rom the Windows XP desktop, click Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, and Network Connections.
Right-click the wired network connection (this is your current connection that is used to access the Internet, the wired one), and then click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection check box and clear the Allow other network users to control or disable this shared Internet connection check box.
Click OK to save changes to your connection.
Create protected wireless network shared through the ICS
From the click Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, and Network Connections.
Right-click the wireless network connection (this is your still disabled WiFi connection), and then click Properties.
    Click the Wireless Networks tab.
In the wireless network adapter properties dialog box, click Add under Preferred networks.
On the Association tab, type the name of your ad hoc wireless network in Network name (SSID). This is the name of the network you want to set, for example, I named mine Dotsisx as this is my nickname.
Select the This is a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network check box and clear the The key is provided for me automatically check box.
In Network Authentication, select Open. In Data encryption, select WEP.
In Network key, type the WEP key. The WEP key is a password that you are setting so that no one would access this network and make use of your bandwidth or data volumes. It should be a random sequence of hexadecimal digits or numbers, letters, and punctuation. Make sure you use something that you will remember easily, but that no other people in your surrounding might know
In Confirm network key, retype the WEP key.
Click OK to save changes to the wireless network and OK to save changes to the wireless network adapter.
But getting reply no gateway found

  • N95 GPS CONNECTION PROBLEM

I've just got my N95 & have been checking out the GPS function. I can't seem to get any satellites to connect to the phone. When I tried it at home, the phone was connected to the net via my wifi connection. Does the N95 need to connect via GPRS / WAP / HSDPA etc or should it find the satellites without needing a connection to the above.
    Thanks

    Hi clemo71
If you go to Menu > Tools > GPS data > (searching for + calculating data) > Position > Options > Satellite status
This shows any number of satellites up to five - empty rectangle = not locked on - black filled rectangle = signal acquired; you need a minimum of 3 solid bars for lock-on and triangulation to work!
In Maps application it zooms in to last recorded position on starting. At first satellite icon bottom right corner has RED CROSS - this disappeears once signal acquired.

  • N95 bluetooth connection

I am unable to connect my motorla H350 bluetooth ear piece to my Nokia N95 8GB. Please tell me if anyone knows how. Thx
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As its a Motorola and you are on a Nokia board, i'm not sure of how that headset works.
But i can give you a vague answer.
You will need to get that headset into a 'pairing mode', how to do that, i'm not sure, usually by holding a button or two down until the lights flash a different pattern.
Then search for a BT device with the phone and if it finds it you might have to input a pairing code which is usually 0000
    Try that.
My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.
If my posts are helpful, please give me some KUDOS using the green star on the left.

  • N95 Cable connection failure

When I tried to update, I found that my N95 could not get connected to notebook.
From the PC Suit - "Get Connected" - "Select Connection Type" then "Connect Cable" it stops and stays there.
I remember some days ago before I reset the phone, I upgraded the firmware (actually from v20.0.015 to the same version) hopefully it will repair the installed firmware.
During the upgrading process I got electricity black out, and then I have never been able to connect by cable, even after being reset and re installed.
That's why I still can not update the firmware.
What should I do to solve this silly problem?

    Hi oly730
Perhaps try going to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > PC Connectivity Solutions > Repair installation

  • N95 8GB connect to a USB Device

As the title says, is it possible to connect the N95 8GB to a external USB Device like a USB Hard Drive so that files from the hard drive can be viewed on the N95.
I would suppose you would need to use additional software for this task.
    Any comments.

Power (+5V) is not the problem as long as the usb device has an external power supply. Most (if not all) nokia phones use 3.6 - 3.7 V battery, but, despite that, nokia phones could produce 5V from 3.7V battery with special hardware. Else, there could be a limitation of simultaneously using the phone charger (that provides 5V to the phone) when connecting a usb device to nokia phone. So, power is not the problem.
Lets look to signals (D+ and D-). According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usb , Transmitted signal levels are 0.0 – 0.3 V for low and 2.8 – 3.6 V for high in full speed (FS) and low speed (LS) modes, and −10 – 10 mV for low and 360 – 440 mV for high in hi-speed (HS) mode. So 3.7V battery is capable of USB signaling, too.
Additionally, most (if not all) ARM processors that are inside Nokia phones, have one USB client port and at least one USB Host port (USB 1.1 or USB 2.0). For examble, old Nokia 7610 is equiped with ARM processor OMAP 1510, that has one client USB port and one USB 1.1 HOST port. (Mention that 7610 does not have usb port. It has pop-port that includes required 4 USB signals: VBUS, Ground, D+ and D-). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop-port .
What is the problem: It's just, Nokia manufacturer does not make use of ARM processor's USB Host port contacts. Also there is not an addtional micro USB port (more space required), and of course there is not software supporting USB Host capability.
Consider, also, that adding USB Host capability to small sized Nokia super phones, that have not big enough battery capacity, then, the battery would be exhausted soon. That's not good for marketing.
So, if you want to add USB Host port to Nokia phone, then:
    1) Locate processor and USB Host port contacts ( if you are able to do it, because of FBGA processor type)
    2) Provide 5V to USB device.
    3) Write some code and install it in Nokia phone.
---  It doesn't worth it. Too much trouble !!!  ----
One other method, would be a SDIO to USB Host Controller Card, connected to micro SD port of some Nokia phones. But, only CF Card to USB Host exists in the market for over 130$. SDIO to USB Host Hardware Development kit costs a lot and are big enough.
Can anyone build something using Maxim ICs MAX3420 or MAX3421E (USB Peripheral Controller with SPI Interface), and connect it to SD card slot supporting SDIO (SD uses SPI interface!!!) ????????????
