N95 pc suite

Hello this is my first time here and i wonder if anybody can help me ,i have just had an N95 and i am trying to save my phones contacts to my pc.I have opened the suite and pressed the back up button, once this is completed i expected to be able to see all my contacts on my pc,alas i can't i can see my ring tones etc but none of my contacts.Am i doing something wrong?????cheers Ja

Well if you choose to "sync" your contacts then it syncs the contacts between your email client (Provided it is on the supported list) and your phone, so they will appear there.
If you backup your data, it just creates a file you can use to restore any lost data on the phone so they dont really appear anywhere.
The "contacts" button is what you need. Click on it and it will ask you do you wish to copy your contacts over from the phone. Choose yes and it will copy them and away you go.

  • Problem with n95 pc suite music manager

when i load up pc suite and click on music manager to transfer music files from my pc to my phone it shows up for about 10 secs and automatically closes by itself, every other one is fine except install applications which does the same thing but i can update my contacts, view images, messages and the lot apart from music manager and applications, so basically i cant transfer any music on to my phone now plus i even tried uninstalling the old version and installing the updated version of pc suite but its still same thing.

if you use file transfer...it should be on your memory card where the files should be save...and if you are using n95 8GB...you can then try to move the files from memory to your phone's internal memory...but i think..music player is smart enough to display all the music files transferred to your mobile...not unless file is not supported...that's the case with my n73ME..all music file i transferred can all be seen in the music player..i suggest you just refresh library...or move the files to folder where other music files visible in the music library...good luck
some aint missing a good thing til its gone...

  • N95 PC Suite 7.1 Image store issue

I have upgraded my PC suite to 7.1 for my N95. Now when I tried to transfer photos and videos from Phone to PC using Store Images option, it says the status as all images and videos in the phone are new as if no photos/videos are ever transferred. It forces me to retransfer all images from the phone all over again. Is there any way of starting the transfer of photos/videos from the last transfer date so that I do not have to retransfer the already transferred photos/videos? I have vista OS in pc and use Bluetooth for connectivity.

    Thanks for your reply.
I am using PC suite 7.0.8.2 downloaded from Nokia site.
I also tried to edit the file
C:\Users\jith\AppData\Roaming\Nokia\ImageStore\354835016278450\Settings to update the counters of PreviousStoredImages and PreviousStoredVideos. But it didn't help.

  • Nokia N95 & PC Suite No MMS creation option

    Hi All
I have recently changed from an old E51 because the rubber was perishing on the keys to an N95.
Both old, I know, but the both work on PC Suite which is a beautiful piece of software.
Upgrading PC Suite has left me unable to create MMS's from PC suit [I can on the phone itself] or being able to synch properly without going to some page in Firefox, [my preferred browser].
I've seen solutions of deleting PC Suite support, but cannot find it in my applications to delete from my phone...
Any suggestions? I've even tried going back to my old E51, but PC Suit on the will not allow switching to MMS creation
    Thanks in advance

  • N95 - not suited to Australian or tropical conditi...

I recently got an N95 and while on holidays with my new phone in Cairns in tropical queensland it started to play up a little. it turns out that while talking on the phone in hot conditions any sweat that was on my face ingressed into the keypad. The end result was loss of keypad function and backlight. I returned it to the dealer where I purchased the phone to have it returned to nokia for repair. The turn around in service was pretty quick but the result I believe was unsatifactory. I was told that due to ingress of moisture the warranty is invalid and the phone would be returned to me unrepaired. Now I have a very expensive piece of junk. this phone is clearly not suitable for Normal Australian conditions or any tropical environment for that matter where the user my perspire. I suggest if you are thinking of getting one of these phones and you live in the tropics you should always use the hands free mode or have your sweat glands surgically removed.
Don't get a Nokia - there are many more options out there. I work for One of the largest employers in Australia and will be sharing this story on the forums at my workplace also.

Unfortunately any kind of water damage is not covered by the warranty (same as if you were to get an MP3 player wet with sweat) so I don't really think you should be surprised that it was not going to be fixed for free.
dpnk - My surpirse was that nokia would release a phone that could be damaged through normal use under normal conditions. I am not in the habit of holding an mp3 player to my face. I don't think it's unreasonable to do so with a phone. If a product can't handle certain conditions then it shouldn't be sold or marketed in areas where they are likely to come under those conditions.
A pricey handset as you have put it should be able to withstand someone talking on it in conditions of 32C. It has not been determined whether the damage was made due to perspiration or if it was because of humid/tropical conditions. Either way if a product is made to be held against the face for a period of time, then the design of the product should bring this into consideration. The same if the phone is going to be sold in different climatic conditions. If I purchased the phone in Australia then spent 6 months in antarctica and the phone died due to the extreme cold, I would be more accepting of the situation as it is not what I deem normal in relation to where I made the purchase.
In regards to your last comment -
"If this problem was THAT common, as you speculated, then there would be a lot more known about it and you probably would be able to find an N95 on sale as much as you do in your part of the world, so that comment is redundant really."
I am left bewildered and confused, I never mentioned that it was a common problem anywhere - one of the reasons I started this topic, apart from being angry was to get a little feedback on the issue to see how common the problem was.
In my opinion I never treated the phone in a way that would be determined unreasonable. I never exposed the phone to any environment that is out of the ordinary for where I purchased it. So I am still left bitter and now using an Ericsson which has always served me well in the past under all kinds of conditions, and will no doubt be my phone of choice into the future.

  • N95-3 & Syncing with Outlook

I currently use a WM5-based phone which syncs extremely well with Outlook. Using MS ActiveSync, I can sync all contacts and calendar entries including the notes fields for each.
A year or so ago, I had used a Nokia 6256i and PC Suite software. While PC Suite worked, it did not allow me to sync contacts in Last Name, First Name format. Rather, it synced all contacts in First Name Last Name format. Also, it did not sync the notes fields for either contacts or calendar entries.
Syncing with Outlook is the most important function for me in a phone, aside from RF and sound quality.
How well does the N95 & PC Suite combo work? I'm hoping to find people who actually sync with Outlook and can verify first hand whether or not contacts sync in Last Name, First Name format and if the notes fields sync.
Would love to buy a N95 but need to confirm sync functionality first. I don't care about push e-mail, syncing via BT is fine.

I had a few minutes to play with an N95-3 at a store at the PHL airport. I looked at the contact details and did in fact see a ton of fields including the notes field. Can I assume that all of these fields (name, addresses, phone #'s, emails, etc) will sync from Outlook?
All the ones I've used have.

Also, I looked at the N95's calendar function. When creating an appointment, I did not see a field for notes. I use the Outlook Calendar notes field extensively (directions, reservation numbers, etc.). I just need to be absolutely sure that the Outlook Calendar notes field does in fact sync to the N95 using PC Suite? Please humor me and tell me once more that it does.
The notes appear in the Description field on the phone. As with contacts, I believe this has a size limit on the phone, so if the notes are too long, they could get truncated.

Once the sync issue has been put to bed, I just need to decide whether to go forward with the N95-3 or wait for the 8GB US model to arrive next month. I plan on using this in the USA on the AT&T network.
Then I would get a US model as the warranties on phones bought outside the US aren't valid in the US.

  • Nokia PC Sync - Not connected

    Hi
N95, PC Suite 7.0.9.2, Windows XP SP3, USB cable.
Most PC Suite programs doesn't "see" the phone, including PC Suite main menu. But "Connect to the Internet" and "Update phone software" works fine. "Video Manager" says: "Failed to open PC Suite Connectivity Device Management connection.". The wizard "Get Connected" has all three options (cable, infrared and bluetooth) in Step 1/3 greyed out.
I've tried to remove all Nokia related software from the computer. Then reinstalled with fresh downloads, to no avail.
    Ideas?

    HI,
In Nokia PC SUite main menu, goto Help Reinstall PC Suite support for SMS MMS, install it on your phone and check this.

    pc suite version 6.84.
all the applications work in pc suite EXCEPT for imagestore and applicationinstaller. anytime i try to load these applications it says "failed to load application components. please re-install the program." i HAVE uninstalled the program/drivers/ran pc suite cleaner. five times. i have tried installing an older version of pc suite (the one included in the n95 box). i've tried running that .bat file in pc connectivity solutions. i've tried re-installing through safe mode. this thing is driving me crazy! i just want to install apps on my n95
anybody know how to fix this problem? or does anybody have any suggestions? i tried talking to nokia support but they kept telling me to re-install the program. which i did... obviously it didn't work though. thanks.

    Hi,
Maybe some of system dll file is missing from your PC. Can you take some logs from PC Suite's application installer?
    If you can, do this:
    1. Go to http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Filemon.html and download Filemon (it is end of the page).
    2. Start FileMon.exe and click 'Options', 'Filter/Highlight..' and set string: *Application* to 'Include' option.
    3. Go to http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html and download Regmon (it is end of the page).
    4. Start RegMon.exe and click 'Options', 'Filter/Highlight..' and set string: *Application* to 'Include' option.
    6. Start Nokia Application installer
    7. when you get the error message, save logs and attach those log files to your response message (or save to www.savefile.com and send link to me)

  • Connecting to the internet via PC Suite / N95 8GB ...

I'm struggling to connect to the internet via PC Suite (v7.1.30.9), using Vista Ultimate SP2, repeatedly getting the error "Failed to connect to the network! One touch access could not connect to the selected device". I've tried different cables, checked for PC Suite updates, updated the phone's software, etc, but all to no avail. (I am able to connect immediately using my N80, so the problem seems to be on the N95 8GB). The rest of the PC Suite connection seems fine. Can anyone help me?

I found a situation where your error message appears. It is the case when the nokia is connected using the data transfer mode and simultaneously the OneTouch Application is started. Then the device is not recognized by the modem software. The PC Suite mode is required for the OneTouch Application.
In my situation I think I already saw all of the possible error messages described in the documentation during the various experiments.
For example I tried to uninstall and reinstall the cable drivers. Unfortunately the driver page of N95 8GB does not include them only the page of N95. This was a step towards success - what concerns the OneTouch Application.
Sometimes it is useful to switch off and on the phone, specially when it is not possible to connect with the modem driver.
In my opinion the possibility of completly uninstalling the Nokia Suite is missing. You can uninstall all parts but after reinstallation the Nokia Phone Browser is no more available, the icon is not displayed. All the software packages are working fine even the modem drivers but not the Phone Browser.

  • N95 Vista PC Suite etc

I have noticed that using the music manager to transfer music from a Vista PC to the N95. No matter how you tell the music manager to or not to convert the music, it still plays like a chipmunk song on the N95. The PC suite needs an overhaul it does not perform well on Vista (even the Vista patched version).

ernmander: My apologies if you have taken offense of my reply. Please bear in mind that I responded directly to your post which suggests the problem being the PC Suite with Vista.
I said that it works fine meaning I have had no issues whatsoever which then suggest that you may have an isolated problem.
So now we would need others to reconfirm whether you are the isolated case or I am.

  • PC Suite & Nokia N95 Backup/Restore

My N95 doesn't seem to want to do a Backup let alone restore...
Keeps hanging at 66% backup when it hits 'phone specific' stuff - the last one on the list.
I have the most recent PC Suite - has anyone else suffered from this problem?
Yup, life sure moves pretty fast...

Out of interest do you get any type of error message when PC Suite is attempting to backup your Messages ? Also - give it some time to back up - I've left it for a good 20 minutes just to see whether it times out or comes back with any specific error message.
I experienced a similar issue and it was down to having to reinstall the MMS Sync component of PC Suite.
Two things I would try are :
    1) As a previous poster recommended - just try backing up to the memory card to see whether this works OK or not. Not being able to do so would indicate it's not a PC Suite related issue and localised to the phone itself.
    2) Try reinstall PC Suite functionality on the phone itself. With the N95 connected to your PC, load up PC Suite (the main program which gives an overview of all the applications that collectively comprise of PC Suite), then goto the Help Menu and choose "Reinstall PC Suite support on your phone" - then try backing up again.
If both of these steps fail, I'd recomend wiping your phone to a factory reset condition (although your memory card should NOT be affected if you follow the link below - but to be safe I'd take it out nevertheless !). The only problem with this solution is that it leaves you in the recursive problem of having to wipe a phone you want to take a backup of (!). Hopefully however, you won't have to do this ...
To reset your phone, follow the instructions in this link :
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=4007
However please be aware that doing so will wipe ALL the data from your phone such as information in your calendar, contacts and so on.
In order to save your data you can use the PC Suite application to save and restore the data from your phone - this software can be found here :
    http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite
If this doesn't work then it's likely you have a hardware fault and you should approach your local Nokia Service Centre to get your phone fixed.
    Hope this helps.
Please let me know how you get on.
    Regards,
    Edward

  • [N95 8Gb Pc Suite]Impossible to synchronize : "syn...

    Hello,
    My config :
    - Windows XP SP2
    - PC Suite 6.85.14.1
    - Nokia N95 8 Gb (v15.0.0.15)
    - Lotus Notes 6.5
    - synchronization parameters : bidirectional, agenda and contacts
    The problem :
Everything was working fine until the last few days.
I can't synchronize my agenda anymore : the phone starts transfering my 149 agenda entries from the phone to the PC, and stops the transfer at the 80th withtout any error message. PC Suite says that the synchronization has been cancelled by user...
It doesn't come from the protocol, since the problem occurs using bluetooth or USB.
Is there a mean to see a detailed log of the synchronization process on the phone and on the PC ?
Does anybody knows how to fix this problem ?
    Regards.

    I found the problem.
In fact, it is a PC Sync bug in the parameters module, because I just recreated the parameters from scratch and it works.
Consequently, don't edit the parameters once they have been created. If you want to modify parameters, recreate them !

  • Sync Windows Vista Calendar with PC Suite & N95

Is anyone aware of a way to sync my N95's calendar with the new (and improved) Windows Calendar which comes free with Vista?
I'm using PC Suite 6.83.14.1 and this can only sync with Windows Vista Contacts (not calendar).
    Thanks!
