N95 pictures/camera - totally white final image

Recently bought a N95 in the UK then moved abroad however now found problems with taking photos.
when taking a photo outside or in a well lit room all goes well with the focus and the green frame in the viewer but after capture the saved image is totally white (feels like too much light is let in). In the view prior to capture and the few moments after capture, the image is fine, but then changes to the saved image. i have checked all the camera settings/adjustments and they are on normal or mid way on the scales and also tried restoring the setting but no improvement. Photos inside taken with the flash are not so bad.
Does this sound like a fault meaning that the phone needs to be returned? anyone heard of this problem before ?
thanks.

I have received the following replay from Nokia since my previous posting on this forum:
"Thank you for emailing Nokia Careline.
With regards to your enquiry, kindly be advised that your issue could be resolved by following the steps provided below.
1. Press menu key , and select Tools > Settings > General > Factory settings. To reset some of the settings to their original values, select Factory settings. To do this, you need the lock code. (The Default one is 12345 or if you have changed it enter your own lock code) 2. Switch off your phone.
3. Remove your battery and SIM card from the phone for 15 minutes.
4. Reinsert your battery and SIM card into the phone.
5. Switch on the phone
Alternatively, kindly be informed that we would like to refer you to the nearest authorized service center."
I've followed Steps 1 - 5, but it didn't make any difference to the camera. I've informed Nokia accordingly. They replied as follows:
" With regards to your enquiry, we have gone through the troubleshooting steps for the purpose of resolving all difficulties that you are facing with your Nokia N95. However, to further assess these issues we need to use our systems where our professional technical support teams will perform further analysis and ensure that the necessary is done. Therefore, we would like to refer you to the nearest authorized service center...."
I'll be taking my cellphone to one of the Nokia service centres that they're recommending.

    Can you reboot the computer to Snow Leopard? If so, then re-run the Yosemite installer application. It should be in your Applications folder.
    If you can't, then you need to erase the drive and reinstall Snow Leopard:
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
    Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
    the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
             with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
             After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
             a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
             button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
             After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
             size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
             partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
             and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
             (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
             with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
             Assistant. After you finish Setup Assistant will complete the installation after which
             you will be running a fresh install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process
             by opening Software Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your
             installation current.

  • Using a script to get the color of a colorized Black & White Bitmap image

    I've been running into this wall for quite some time and would greatly appreciate any help that can given for it.
    I have an Illustrator script that runs inside of a BridgeTalk session within an InDesign script.  Yeah, it's complicated.  The upshot is that the Illustrator part opens up an EPS file, looks through all objects on a certain layer in that file, and returns an array of the colors used in it.  So, it looks at fill colors, stroke colors, gradient stops, etc.  One of the biggest stumbling blocks (next to PlugIn Items, which I'll ask about in a separate post) is getting the color of raster images.
    Most raster images, I realize, are going to be CMYK or RGB images, but our company mostly deals with either Grayscale images or Black & White Bitmaps that are embedded in the EPS file.  Those two allow the ability to colorize them by simply selecting them and then choosing a color, such as a spot PANTONE color from one of their color books.
    Now, I need the script to read the color that the raster image has been colorized with.  This works okay for images that have a GrayScale color space, as the script just looks at Colorant[0] of that image.  However, I run into a problem with Black & White Bitmap images.  Here's a piece of code that I try to make work with an EPS file that has a raster image:
    var document = app.activeDocument;
    for (var i = 0; i < document.layers[0].pageItems.length; i++) {
              // Stepping through each item on the layer.
              var currentItem = document.layers[0].pageItems[i];
              $.writeln("Current item is " + currentItem.typename);
              $.writeln("Number of channels is " + currentItem.channels);
              $.writeln("Color Space is " + currentItem.imageColorSpace);
              $.writeln("Colorized Grayscale? " + currentItem.colorizedGrayscale);
              $.writeln("Number of Colorants: " + currentItem.colorants.length);
              for (var j = 0; j < currentItem.colorants.length; j++)
                        $.writeln("Colorant number " + j + " is " + currentItem.colorants[j]);
              $.writeln("Its parent is " + currentItem.parent);
              $.writeln("Parent's typename is " + currentItem.parent.typename);
    This code runs successfully on an Illustrator file that has a Black & White Bitmap image on the top layer, but if you try and run it, you'll see the problem:  Even if you've colorized your Bitmap image with a PANTONE spot color (and the script even returns "true" on the line "Colorized Grayscale?"), Colorant number 0 is "Gray".  It should be the spot color assigned, not "Gray".
    Can anyone please help me figure out how to get the script to recognize the actual colorant of a Black & White Bitmap image in Illustrator?

    If you're a professional photographer with 50,000 pictures stored now and more coming all the time, you need to forget about using iPhoto and get yourself some professional-quality digital asset management software. iPhoto is not meant for people like you, and instead of providing a simple, elegant one-stop answer to all your needs, iPhoto is actually complicating your life.
    You need an application that will:
    - catalog ALL your images and keep track of where they are, no matter how many DVDs, folders, partitions or hard drives they're spread over;
    - display thumbnails of ALL of them, even when the DVD that contains them is not present in any drive, so you can select all the ones you want for a project;
    - find and copy (or export) the originals of all the files you've selected in the browser window, even if it means prompting you to insert the necessary DVDs for all of them.
    I suggest Googling "digital asset management software Macintosh" and seeing what turns up. I used to use an old version of Extensis Portfolio, and even that would have been better for your purposes than iPhoto is.

  • Black & White Raw Images are Automatically Colorized -- Why?

    I am using a Lumix GF1 and shooting in black & white and raw.  I have the latest Adobe Camera Raw Program (5.6, I think), Photoshop CS4 and Bridge.  I upload the images from the camera to my pc using Bridge.  They appear in Brdige one-by-one in black & white.  After the last image, Bridge converts them all to color automatically -- and I can't figure out how to stop it.  Can anyone help me?  This only happens to the raw images, not the jpegs.

    There is no such thing as a "black and white raw" image or image file.  The B&W is just a tag in metadata that tells the camera software to show you a b&w image, but the raw file wll always have the full color information.
    Camera Raw by design ignores the proprietary b&w tag set by your camera.
    You can always convert to grayscale in Camera Raw.

  • Photomerge: no final image after 10.6.7 with Nvidia Quadro 4000

    Hi, as it was stated in similar thread I have this issue. / http://forums.adobe.com/thread/852821?tstart=0 /
    But in tha threat mentioned above, problem was solved:
    "3. May 18, 2011 3:50 PM in response to: Chris Cox
    Re: Photomerge Crashes
    I think the problem was that there was an "ñ" in the file names. Now it works!"
    My file names are: _MG_7975_1z3.psd
    So probably it is not a problem with the name. I have:
      Model Name: Mac Pro
      Model Identifier: MacPro4,1
      Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
      Processor Speed: 2.93 GHz
      Number Of Processors: 2
      Total Number Of Cores: 8
      Memory: 20 GB
    with Nvidia Quadro 4000 installed.
    After I downloaded 10.6.7 I had a problem with my graphic card, new mac OS version erased something but I solved it when I found on Nvidia forum solution and downloaded new Nvidia 4000 drivers. But help me now with new problem: photomerge - no final image. I have a huge project with extensive using of that tool. Thanks in advance!

    I think that it is the answer:

  • Camera raw/white blance

    I am using windows and PS3.
    I am using a infrared converted Nikon D70, image capture must be done in raw only and must have its own white balance set by me.
    I understand that when going into camera raw from bridge camera raw will not understand the "custom"white balance then change the white balance to "Auto" automatically upon opening image.
    How can I continue using camera raw for these Infrared images
    I can not for the life of me find access for changing this automatic change.
    Any one know ??
    Thanks Phil

    The issue with white balance and IR modified cameras is the when Camera Raw uses its built-in camera profile, which was designed for non-modified cameras, the white balance parameters fall outside the temperature/tint range supported by Camera Raw.
    The real solution here would be to use a custom camera profile designed for your IR modified cameras. This would bring the white balance parameters inside the supported temperature/tint range.
    Currently there is no easy way to do this (use a custom camera profile). If you are a computer programmer, you could convert the files to DNG, and then write a program to modify the embedded profile inside the DNG.
    Short of that, I don't have any good solutions for you at present.

  • Does iPhone Packager CS 5.5 support camera access and LOADING images from the camera roll?

    Flash CS 5 only supports SAVING to the camera roll, not loading image from it. And it has no access to the camera to take pictures and access the image within the app.
    Does Flash CS 5.5 do these things? There's no point in upgrading if it doesn't support these core feature that I need.

    Hi.
    Just got an app  rejected because the popover to select the pics from the camera roll on  the iPad always appears on to-left corner, and the arrow doesn't point  anywere, and should be pointing to the button which activated it. That  "does not comply with the Apple iOS Human Interface Guidelines, as  required...". On the iPhone there's no issue because it takes over the  whole screen. More from the apple rejection message:
    "Specifically,  we noticed your app contained popover elements that didn't  point to  the element that revealed them. To avoid user confusion, a  popover  element's arrow should point to the element that revealed it."
    So, thanks for including the CameraRoll functionality, but it will be useless in the iPad apparently
    Any workaround to make it appear at a specific place when calling myCameraRoll.browseForImage() ?

    what is your view in N95 8g camera in compare with that of original N95??

    they both produce exact quality pictures there is no difference but
    1) n958gb pictures may look blurry because of dirt and finger prints as there is NO lens protection
    2) Autofocus in night mode is back in v15 software for n95 8gb
    If you want to buy phone for camera then i'd say n95-1
    As lens protection is a MUST

    The camera sees the card OK, but I don't know how to make it take an image.

    I don't think that you can do it with older MacBook's which have iSight cameras on them, the redeem by camera lists requirements as :
    Mac with a FaceTime camera (an Apple Display with FaceTime works too)
    I think that you will need to manually enter the card's code

  • How to hide the file name (the bizarre number assigned by the camera) when exporting an image version in aperture from an album. Pl understand I want to keep the file name in the project library version.

    how to hide the file name (the bizarre number assigned by the camera) when exporting an image version in aperture from an album. Pl understand I want to keep the file name in the project library version.

    Within Aperture you have Images, which are constructed on-the-fly from two files (the Master and the Version).  You get an image-format file _only_ when you export an Image.  You select the file name (usually a scheme) when you create an image-format file (that is, when you export).  Look under "Aperture→Presets→File Naming" for built-in Presets.  You can, of course, create your own or customize any provided.
    The Preset is applied to only the file newly created by your "export" command.  It is not applied to the Image in Aperture (unless you rename your Versions or your Masters).

  • Colour in black and white digital image

    how do i colour in a black and white digital image please. I have never used this programme before, so any idiots guide you can give me would be great.

    Go to Image Menu>Mode and be sure that RGB color is checked
    Open your image, duplicate the background layer, shut off the visibility of this layer by clicking on the eye icon, and work on background copy layer
    Set your foreground color chip to red (I used this for the blouse)
    In the tool box, activate the magic wand tool. On the tool's option bar, check "contiguous", and set tolerance to 40.
    Click on the blouse. You will see "marching ants", indicating that the blouse is selected
    Go to Edit menu>Fill selection and under contents use foreground color
    Press CTRL+D on keyboard to get rid of the marching ants
    Next I worked on the skirt with green foreground color, and repeated steps 2-5. And so on .
    Note, that in order to get a clean selection you may have to reduce the tolerance setting. For the skirt-hem, I had to go down to 8 in each pleat.
    Here is a partially completed rendition for your reference.
