N95 Product code 0547686 V30 news?

I have just got a N95 with product code 0547686 on the 3 network. The "Can I update check" says this model is good for V30.0.015, but Software updater only gives me V21.0.016.
Some topics from September time seems to imply that Nokia was looking at this. Has anyone heard anything new or is this usual?

I have done as suggested and updated Nokia PC Suite and NSU, still no joy. I contacted Nokia and got this reply...

Software versions for a specific Nokia phone may depend on network operator variants as Nokia phones distributed by a network operator's sales channel are commonly pre-installed with software configured to ensure compatibility with the respective network services.
Operator-branded Nokia devices may also be updated with the latest software version that has been approved by the operator and the updates for individual variants may be available at different times.
However, note that not all operators may have approved the latest software available. (However, I am unable to advise on a release date for the software version ahead of time. I suggest that you check Nokia Software Updater periodically.) "
Is the product code related to the network supplier or do they modify the software for a particular code? Is the best approach to contact 3 and see if they have any input into the process?.

You can download the software from the website and then type in your old serial number to activate it... that is, IF the installer database will work with your operating system. I am having problems reinstalling CS4 with a new computer running on Win 8.1. When I called customer support, they told me a whole lot of nothing for 45 minutes and then directed me to a chat session. After about 30 minutes on chat, I was basically told they don't offer support for older products. The website says "no known issues" for installation... but that very well may be because they are unwilling to record the issues when someone calls to report them! Good luck with your install. I wish I had CS5 at this point, as it appears there is still support available for it... but you are on the bubble timewise for that to continue. Other downloads

Yes go ahead with this, it will make it easier for you to upgrade in the long run. It will also give you the full european 2 year warranty.
I take it the company is expansys that you mentioned the other day? If so it is safe to go ahead.
I believe this was a genuine mistake as i've been buying from expansys UK for years without any problems.

So my fone has the product code 0548763. after so many days the new firmware is STILL NOT AVAALABLE!!
i bought it from pakistan and its NOT Branded.....

I was just checking the replacement for my previous product code 0548364
My replacement does not have a product code ??
the only 6 figure number is an "item" number starting 0027 is this a new product code???
All the product codes I have seen before have started 05
It has on the label "UK CV Deep Plum" any one know What the CV stands for
It is Graphite as my original was graphite and there was not a replacement available so the case was changed and it updated to v12 but What is CV and What is item 0027##

this is a replacement for my previous product code 0548364
So I would guess it has been swapped like for like except the colour although the case was changed as I have the graphite not deep plum so I would assume 0548364 is the code so this would be as good a guess as looking in shops!

Mine is UNBRANDED but also has Line two and Fixed Dialing
I know the Euro1 product code does NOT support Line two
I was asking is there a way to tell THE PRODUCT CODE on the phone

N95 Product Code 0551192

Entering 0551192 in software update brings message, "Sorry, there is no software available for your product code Please Enter Valid Product Code." Nokia agree this is the code but cannot explain! Can anybody?

Install the nokia software updater (NSU) from www.nokia.com/softwareupdate
But you will need a PC for this as it's not available on a mac.
Follow the instructions and see if it offers you the update.
Sometimes updates are only available at nokia care points and not on the NSU (at the networks request). So if the NSU doesn't allow you to update then visit a care point and ask them. It will be free and they may do it while you wait.

N95 photo shooting problem with new firmware V11

I have got a problem with photo shooting after upgrading my N95 (Product Code: 0534832) to the new firmware (v11.0.026) via Nokia Software Updater.
Before upgrading the firmware, I can turn off the loud and ugly snapping sound when shooting a photo; all I need to do is to change to Silent Profile (that has Warning tones OFF). But it seems that I can no longer turn that ugly sound off with the new firmware!
Is that a bug? Is there another way I can turn the sound off?

Actually I have 2 N95 phones, one is my GFs, both of them are bought and used in Hong Kong.
The way I test the differences between versions is directly comparing each feature with the two phones, where the one with new firmware has product code #0534832, and the one with old firmware has product code #0548445. Both of them has www.nokia.com.hk printed on the box and manuals, so I assume local law is not an issue.
By the way, I have just discovered that the one with product code #0548445 cannot update via Nokia Software Updater.

N95-3 Device's Product Code

Hi everyone I've been looking all over the new and haven't found any answer that satisfied me at all.
I went to the Update Firmware page and the ask for the Device's Product Code, that is supposed to be printed on a white label beneath the battery and It is supposed to look like (according to the page):
CODE: 0520001 ( 7 DIGITS )
I turned off my phone and removed the battery and looked for the code and although It starts with 05 , It has a lot of numbers besides the "7 digits" It is supposed to have.
My Device's Product Code is something like: 0542193214457T3P (16 digits)
So Is It just me, well my phone, or is there anyone else that have something like that?

an easy way to see if you have an update for your phone is to connect it via usb and launch NSU - nokia software updater program. it will search for you and determine whether there is an update or not. you can find it on nokia usa website.

and yes you are right, there is no distinct product code but i believe that the code might be the first 7 digits of that code on our phones.

If one was in the market for a new Nokia 5800 XM in the UK . What product codes to look for .
Do any of the numerous variations on this phone give the purchaser any more for one code than another .

Changing the product code will void your warranty and therefore it is not allowed to talk about that here nor help you to perform your warranty voiding operation.
