N95: Vanishing Gmail Shortcut

[N95-1, latest firmware (V30)]
I've built a mailbox for my Gmail account, and I've assigned it the left selection key shortcut. After a certain amount of (idle?) time, the shortcut simply disappears. The key still works, only the shortcut ain't there no mo'. Re-assigning it brings the shortcut back, only to disappear after a while, and so on and so forth...
Tried switching to the right selection key shortcut, with the same results. For the life of me, I just can't tell when this happens. So far it looks completely random. Last night, for example, it was there when I shut off my phone. I then connected the charger, and went to sleep. When I woke up this morning and turned the handset on, the Gmail shortcut was gone. Had to re-assign it. Very frustrating.
Anybody in the same boat? Suggestions? Is that a bug or a "feature"?

Many thanks for the suggestion, but I am not yet ready to resort to workarounds. I'll try it later, and report back. So far I am still trying to get to the bottom of this: I'm sort of a perfectionist by nature (yeah, I know, a terminal disease). Not to mention that my experience in dealing w/computers tells me that such apparently minor issues usually go (much) deeper.
I think, on the other hand, that I've made some progress on pinpointing *when* this happens: I think I can tell with (some) certainty that the Gmail shortcut disappears upon reboot. Moreover, no other shortcuts seem to behave this way. At this point I think I have enough evidence to ask whoever might want to help me to attempt to replicate my issue. All it takes is to define a (new) mailbox in the Messaging menu that targets some valid IMAP4 Gmail account, and then make a shortcut to it on the "desktop" (Standby Shortcuts)--see also the screenshots linked to above.

Bug in Mail when using Google Apps Gmail and sync

I found a bug in the sync process between the Mac and the phone. If you have Mail (on the computer) set to use Google Apps for Your Domain, the sync on the phone changes the user for the mail account. I assume this is because it sees "smtp.gmail.com" or something and decides to "protect" you from having an incorrect user account.
So for example, if you're using Google Apps and your e-mail is [email protected], Mail (on the computer) will also have smtp.gmail.com and pop.gmail.com as the servers. When sync'd to the phone, iTunes or the phone decide to change the user account for both servers to [email protected]@gmail.com, which is of course not what we want.
I'm kind of annoyed that they're trying to protect us like this.

Yes. Create the GMail account on your iPhone using the Other shortcut instead of the GMail shortcut. That will let you specify whatever address you want.

Problem setting up Gmail--Help!

I seem to be having issues setting up Gmail. I set up my Yahoo mail account with no issues but Gmail keeps failing. I'm correctly entering my account name and password but verification--both in SSL and non-SSL fails each time. My gmail account is set to accept POP3. Anyone else run into this and what worked?
I need to get Gmail going so I can handle my work Exchange mail via the redirect option. (Forced to use an icky Dell on non-IMAP-friendly exchange server at work)

I've been using the GMail shortcut--although I have tried once through the Other shortcut.
I've tried to set up both my existing Gmail account (had forever) and a brand new 'clean' account. Both have POP enabled.
Each time, the iPhone tries to verify account info. After an interval, I get a "Cannot Connect Using SSL -- Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?". I've clicked cancel and tried again and clicked yes (try without SSL) and neither work. I get an "Account Verification Failed" message.
I've tried this while on work wireless, home wireless and EDGE.
Additional information:
When I first set up my iPhone, I set up my Y mail account without a hitch.

N95 SHORT CUT KEY NOT WORKING

Anyone had any problems with there N95 top left shortcut key not working,mine won't do anything when pressed then suddenly has a mind of it's own and keep pressing it's self and sending blank text messages to my first contact in my address book...
Tried software load,no cure is it back to the shops..

Reply-to function in Gmail does not work when sending from iPhone

I'm using Gmail for my iPhone and have the "reply-to" function set up so that recipient's of emails will reply to my business email address and not reply back to my gmail address. It works fine when sending emails directly from Gmail on the web interface. However, when I use the iPhone to send an email, the recipient gets my gmail address when replying to me. They do not the get "reply-to" email address. This seems to be an iPhone issue. I noticed another post about this issue involving Yahoo reply-to acting the same way with the iPhone and replied to that regarding my gmail experience. Are any other gmail users experiencing the same thing with the reply-to function? Any suggestions on how to fix?

Setting the reply-to on the web interface does not change the reply-to on the iPhone. In order for you to specify a different reply-to on the iPhone, you need to configure your GMail account using the "Other" shortcut, not the GMail shortcut. The Other shortcut allows you to specify your work ID as the address, and your GMail ID as your login for incoming and outgoing servers.

Bug in XSQLServlet when using the XSQLDMLHandler?

Hi all & Steve,
I am trying to call the XSQLDMLHandler as a nested Handler inside my own handler. But I always get this error message:
XSQL-014: Resulting page is an empty document or had multiple document elements.
I was checking the result for the call and it seems to be ok, I get the usual status message for my update. But when my actionhandler finishs and the XSQLServlet tries to carry on, I get the error above .
I am doing this already with the XSQLQueryHandler and it works fine. So it seems to me that the XSQLServlet has a problem if the XSQLDMLHandler is called as a nested handler?
Any suggestion or help will be appreciated.

Email Suddenly Not Fetching

I've got a POP3 account, Yahoo account, and Gmail account, and none will retrieve (or send) mail all day today. It was working fine yesterday, and ever since I updated with the 1.0.1 update (when that came out). Everything else seems to be working fine, and all the settings appear to be correct. I did do a sync late last night, but that appeared to go fine.
Am I missing something? Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Very strange. I would suggest doing the following.
1. Delete all 3 acocunts.
2. Reset your iPhone.
3. Create one account - start with GMail.
4. Do not use the GMail shortcut - use Settings / Mail / Add Account / Other. Use the following servers:
pop.gmail.com for incoming
smtp.gmail.com for outgoing
5. Hit save.
You shouldn't need to do anything else - the iPhone will validate the settings, automatically set the SSL options, and you should be good to go. Exit out and check to see if your email works.
IF you cannot validate your settings, that is problem #1 - something else is going on.
IF the settings validate properly, but you are still unable to send email, that could be something else altogether.
Connect via EDGE, not WiFi. Disable WiFi to be sure. This is just for testing purposes. This configuration is known to work. If it isn't, then something else funky is going on.

That is the GMail shortcut. That should work. Just for testing, use the "Other" shortcut.

Incoming server: pop.gmail.com
Login: [email protected]
Password: yourpassword
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
Login: [email protected]
Password: yourpassword
Hit SAVE.
It should set itself up correctly without you having to specify anything else. Try that.

Office Start Menu Shortcuts Keep Vanishing!

I have Windows 8.1 Enterprise and Office 2013 Professional with all current updates installed. I prefer to run with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook on the 'Start Menu' and until recently, this has been working fine. For the last couple
of weeks however the shortcuts for Word, Excel and Powerpoint keep vanishing! Strangely, the Outlook shortcut always remains! I can go to the all programs display, select them and use 'Pin to Start' and they obligingly appear, I move them into
the correct group, they stay there for a while and then vanish! It has even done it in front of my eyes! The Start Menu appeared to slide off to the right and then slide back. When it slid back into view, they were gone!
Has anyone else seen anything like this or have any idea what the problem may be?

Was your computer in a Domain?
Please check if there is any schedule or GP to regularity reset Start screen layout.
Also, consider the corrupted user profile issue, you can check whether this issue also happened on another user account.
This issue can also be caused by corrupted system components, you can try to use this command to restore healthy:
Please make sure to run CMD as Administrator:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Is there a way to set custom keyboard shortcuts for Liquify and Vanishing Point filter interfaces in Photoshop CS4? When I change my keyboard shortcuts preferences for Photoshop, they don't change for these filter interfaces. Is there another way?

I tried to change the shortcut for the Vanishing Point and Liquify from
Edit -> keyboard shortcuts(button) -> keyboard shortcuts (tab) -> filter (tab)
and you will find these filters :
double click on it and make a new shortcut
but it MUST be Ctrl + (any letter) or you can make it Ctrl + Alt + (any letter)
but if you made it just one lettre like S for example
you will can't make a shortcut.

Your Gmail account is on a web site, not on your computer.

You likely just cleaned your caches with CCleaner and it logged you out, log into Gmail again and all should be fine.

Gmail - Compose email - Command-left/right shortcut not working

Firefox 3.6.12
Mac OS X 10.5.8
In the 'Compose mail' window of GMail the shortcut Command-left arrow or Command-right arrow to jump to respectively beginning or end of a line, is not working. Command-up/down (go to top/bottom) and option-left/right (jump per word) are all working fine.
I already tried running Firefox in Safe mode but still the same issue. Also tried clearing the cache and all history but to no avail.
In Safari the shortcut works fine but I'd like to stick to Firefox.

This problem has been marked "solved" but isn't solved at all. This problem still exists, and is infuriating to any Mac/Firefox/Gmail users who like to stick to the keyboard. I've also noticed this happens in other google apps (blogger, docs, etc).

Gmail issues on N95

first time i setup gmail on my N95 and it works beautifully
but i've 2 issues
1) i can recv emails just fine but cant reply as it tries for awhile and says timed out.
btw i setup as per instructions listed in following link

Hi sqlpro, try:
(1) "Messaging" - "Options" - "Settings" - "Email" and set "Mailbox in use" to your gmail account.
This sets your gmail account as the default email account for sending (& replying to) emails.
(2) Deleting the message from the phone only deletes the body of the message (to save some disc space). It does not delete the header. Unfortunately, the only way to remove the header from the phone is to also delete it from the server, or in the case of gmail, move it out of the inbox (that is, select "Archive" from within gmail).
