N95 WLAN Problems

I am having problems connecting to the internet using my WLAN at the office. The connection allows me to connect ot the local intranet in the office but when i try to connect to the internet error message appears as "Gateway No Reply". I have checked all the IP's and Login including the WEP key everything seems fine. Can anyone Help Me?

One thing to check would be to ensure your DNS IP is set. From previous experience the N95 returns the same message if it is unable to resolve hostnames to IPs.
Alternatively your work environment may have a policy of only allowing certain IP addresses out on the internet.Message Edited by edwardquan on 07-Aug-200708:54 AM

  • WiFi (WLAN) problem - in the same room a iOS 5 device connects, iOS 6 not

    Hi all,
I won't say that it's a proof for the iOS 6 WiFi/WLAN problem. BUT, it's evident that my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 sees all WLAN-networks and connects - my new iPad with iOS 6 doesn't! And I'm using the two devices in the same room. In addition my new iPad didn't have connection problems before updating to iOS 6.
Apple Software Engineers - please help and release the next update to fix it
    Best regards

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

  • Logic remote wlan problems

    Hey, guys,
I'm experiencing connectivity problems when trying to connect Logic Remote with an iMac running Logic Pro X. Both in the same network of course, all other apps requiring to connect the iPad with any Mac in the network work very well, internet is fine etc. Seems Logic remote connects for a second, than it disconnects again, saying WLAN is weak or unreliable (which isn't the case), sometimes no connection at all. All operating systems up to date.

I also had this WLAN Problems and solved it:
1.) Try to remove all controllers you added earlier (also Logic Remote) under setup..
2.) Restart Logic an Logic Remote -> This should re-add Logic Remote to your Controllers.

  • Nokia N95 USB Problem

I have a problem with my Nokia N95-1 considering the USB transfer to my Memory Card.
I have a 1GB Kingston MicroSD, the latest software (V 20.0.015, 13-11-07, RM-159, Balkans Pack, updated from V13); PC Suite v6.85.14.1 on Windows XP Professional.
While I was transfering some 300MB of music to the MicroSD, Explorer crashed and reported that data might have
been lost during the transfer. I checked my phone and noticed "ghost" files on the memory card (free memory was reduced by 300MB, but the phone couldn't register new files). I retransfered the files, disconnected the phone and started the Music Player.
Music Player said "Repairing corrupted database", hanged for a while and then added newly transfered files to the track list. But, when I tried to play a file, it refused to do it and said "Generalystem error". Phone became slow and impossible to operate, so I had to restart it. Same problem occured again, and similar things happened in File Explorer (shows nothing on the card), LCG Jukebox and LCG Xplore (get stucked when they access it or refuse to start files).
After this, I removed the MicroSD - after this, everything on my N95 returned to normal.
Since then, I've tried to change the USB Cable, USB Port, USB Transfer mode; tried to reformat my MicroSD many times with many formatting tools - Phone Memory Card Manager, Windows Formatter, KillDisk, Panasonic SDFormatter - but the result always remained the same: after I retransfer the files to the card, it becomes useless until I reformat it again.
These programs didn't register any corruptions, but Windows Formatter and Panasonic SDFormatter would sometimes report that they were unable to reformat the card.
I tried to insert the MicroSD into my MSI Mega538 MP3 player, reformat, and then transfer files to it. Again,
transfer itself worked okay, but when I inserted the card into my N95, same problem occured. I tried to transfer
some files to the Phone Memory via PC Suite - it worked great.
I tried to insert my friend's 1GB Kingston MicroSD into the phone. It registered it perfectly - Music Player has
refreshed the database, registered new files and played them without any problem. Same goes for the Gallery - some
400 images and videos were recognized right away, and the phone itself worked fast and stable.
When I bought my phone, I had no problems at all - files could be transfered normally, Music Player would simply
refresh the database, and I could use the files easily - no problems, system errors, system hangs or restarts. But after that Explorer crash, I simply can't use the memory card any more.
Sorry for long post, but I really need your help. Is the memory card corrupted, is it a hardware or software problem
with my N95, or is it a Windows glitch?

    Hi ivanik,
I strongly believe this is an issue with the card. Seeing that the phone works fine without it and works with a different card perfectly...
Perhaps it is an issue with the data that your transfering to the card. It may not be compatible to the phone. Thus the phone lags and doesnt play the files.
Try loading different data... perhaps one from a source...
Try this once you have formatted your card...

  • ANOTHER NOKIA C3 WLAN PROBLEM

Ok, I'm not able to choose wlan or gprs internet but untill I was trying to open the Internet via WLAN tel says 'service not available''.'' activating default in all applications'' does not work, simply because it's getting back all my options from WEB and I''m connecting the Int via gprs again. What should I do? any ideas? maybe it's all about my router or so? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

    Hi, this is Paulo Bral™,
I recently got an Nokia C3-00 mobile, and I faced so many problems with Wi-FI connection of this phone that I decided to share my experience with you guys.
I am going to write here the definitive guide to fix all WLAN problems you may encounter (and this is something that not even Nokia Support was able to do) - are you ready?
First of all, I am assuming you have the knowledge about Wi-Fi networking (SSIDs, Channels, Security, and all the terms related to setting up a decent Wi-Fi connection), second, you need to have full acess to your router, as we will configure everything from the ground, third and last you will need a tool called InSSIDer from Meta Geeks (Google it) to perform diagnostic tasks explained below.
    Analyzing the networks around you
First off, you need to spend some time running the tool InSSIDer on your PC to collect data from Wi-Fi networks around you as they may be the cause of your connection problems. We will use these 2 visualizations: "Time Graph" and "2.4GHz Channel" to monitor the networks around - if you dont know what you are doing, better close this page and start running away.
    Configuring the router
After collecting data from the networks around, now it's time to set up our router. I found out that I have other 15 networks around me, and I found out here that most of them were using Channel 6, the same I was using. Also some of them are using the Channel 9 and 11. In this case, I set my router to use the Channel 1, as nobody were using it and it is also far away from other Channels being used. After some time collecting data, you will be able to see which Channel has no user or less users, and you must choose it. The security of you WLAN is your choice, as it does not have any side effects. I suggest using WPA2 as it is the most secure of the 3 this mobile supports. BTW, don't ask me how to configure your router, ask Google for it!
    Testing WLAN connectivity
Now it's time to test WLAN connectivity with your reconfigured router. Try opening some pages, try watching YouTube videos... If your mobile is working OK, with no connection errors or timeouts, your problem was only the interference caused by networks around. But, if you still experience problems like timeouts or errors opening pages and YouTube videos, you need to continue to the next step.
Using router QoS and Static IP
If you have an very fast internet (10MBPS+) you will need to slow things down, as this cell phone does not really support fastest internet speeds, now you have to know your cell MAC address, make it use an Static IP, and configure QoS to reduce the downstream speed on the cell phone IP to 3MBPS max speed - BTW, not all routers supports this, if yours don't support it, get another router, I recommend Cisco or LinkSyS.
    Still having problems
The above steps solved my problem for a while, as the phone were working a little better with my Wi-Fi, yet I experienced some timeouts and errors opening pages. Now the next step will require a PC connected to your network and this will reduce to ZERO the timeouts and errors opening pages.
Keeping the Connection Alive - for bad routers
If you have a generic (not Cisco or LinkSyS) cheap bad router, you will need this step! I noticed that even when the cell phone were showing the Wireless icon, the LED indicating Wireless on my router was not always turned on, so I understood my router was like "ignoring" the cell phone connection and just stopped responding to its calls. To fix this bad router behaviour, you will need a PC connected to your network, and prepare yourself to laugh: All you need to do is "keep pinging" the cell phone IP as this will keep it connection alive. The simplest way is to create a .BAT file with these 3 lines inside:
    :autoping
    ping <cell phone IP>
    goto autoping
Now save it on your desktop, use anyname.bat as you wish - now run it and connect your cell phone to the WLAN. You will notice the difference, as it will work so stable like if it were connected using LAN cable!!! You will never have connection problems again!
Well, that is it, following this guide your cell phone will never have WLAN problems again (well, at least on your WLAN).
    Best regards,
    Paulo Bral™

  • N95 8Gb WLAN Problem

I've read everything I can on the net and in forums and I'm at the point now where my phone may well get launched very hard against the nearest wall!
I am trying to connect my wireless router. I have a Buffalo Wireless G Router. I can see the router when I search for it on the phone. I can add it and I have entered the WEP key successfully. I get all the correct symbols telling me that it has connected to a secure network. Yet when I try and browse the web through this defined access point it just hangs and does nothing!
I've tried various other methods. Like turning the power saving off etc... and I've also tried defining the phone manually and giving it it's own IP address and configuring the Gateway and router's IP manually. Yet still it does exactly the same thing and does nothing but present me with a blank page!
Why does everything have to be so hard?
Is there anyone else out there that has had the same problem and know the answer?
    Thanks in advance.
Daz (frustrated and fed up with easy things being so hard!)

I have sorted my problem out now, although I'm not entirely sure which action corrected the issue. I reset the access point and tried a few other things and navigated to google.co.uk and it now works. The only thing I can't get to work in Vodafone Messenger. It works on WAP but not through WLAN.
But reading a forum it seems that vodafone messenger only works through WAP and not WLAN.
So I've tried to install Live Messenger via downloading it from the web but when installed the application just briefly flashes and then does nothing more.
I read on the nokia site that it can be downloaded directly to the phone via the Download function but it doesn't seem to be there as a download anywhere. Anyone know how else I can get a working version?
    Thanks,
    Daz

  • N95 w'n'w/WLAN problem

I find my WLAN, I click on it then "start web browsing" its a little black screen covering the WLAN's only and then goes back to showing them. I tried turning off, and taking out battery.
It usually always works fine, but since yesterday it didn't. I can not access it via w'n'w or WLAN, but ebuddy messenger works and I connect it via my WLAN.
(This goes under both messaging and conectivity as I cannot access w'n'w and WLAN)

    Alessandro,
I think the problem might be with the phone settings. The
problem I'm experiencing is similar to this:
    http://www.valveblog.com/2006/02/flashlite_20_ne.html
Each time I launch a Flash swf on the phone, when the swf
tries to connect to a remote server, I'm prompted to select an
access point, and regardless of which type of connection I select
(WLAN, WAP, etc), immediately after selecting the access point, the
display returns to the screen showing the directory where the swf
    was launched from.
    Sound at all familiar?

  • N95 8GB WLAN PROBLEM (SERVER NOT FOUND)

HI, just got my new n95 8gb and tried connecting it to my home network,i find the access point and define the access point but when i try start web browsing i get error mesage "server not found".
    any ideas anyone?

That error message tells that your phone can't connect to a DNS. There are lots of causes for that & one is if your WIFI been configured with hardware address fitlering as a security measure. Try if you could put the primary DNS & Secondary in the configuration of your phone & check if it will work.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • N95 VOIP Problem

After hours of trying, I cannot get VOIP calls to work on my N95 (unbranded).
I have tried truphone and mobiboo. With truphone, I registered and installed the wizard which did all the settings but when I try and connect through the WLAN, it keeps saying cannot connect.
I opened the necessary ports and changed to TCP as the helpguide suggested.
Has anyone managed to get truphone working?
    Please help! Thanks

    Hi oregon,
Try changing the 'Transport type' back to UDP and the 'Port' to 5062. Restart the phone and see if it will then register.
If you still have problems log into your Truphone account and submit a support request.Message Edited by damocles on 07-May-2007 02:26 PM
