N95 wlan web no gate way reply

hi. i have a nokia n95 and i get this message web: no gate way reply with most of the wlan connections i connect to. before i upgraded to version 21 of the FW, it was ok but after some wlan hotspots worked and some didnt. At my college where i used it the most it stopped working. i decided to reinstall the firmware but it still didnt work and the ones which did work dont seem to be working either. i read all the other suggestions but nothing helped.(disabling the power saving option) so please help me out. Thanx. Maz.

I've had the same problem.Try doing this:
Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points.
Try deleting them all except those from your operator.Those from your operator should be marked with an icon two arrows pointing in the opposite direction and the wi-fi access points with circle and four little squares in it.

    Hi guys, hope you can help me with this one.
    This has kept me up till 6 am, and I have no idea what to do.
    I have a wrt54gs v5 router and I have a Nokia N93. The N93 sees the wifi connection but when it tries to connect it says: No gateway reply.
    What could I be doing wrong, here are the settings:
    Wrt54gs v5 with firmware 1.50.9, SES enabled using WPA, channel 6, no mac address and in dhcp server set to auto.
    UPNP is also enabled.
    On the phone it is setup as followed:
    Connection name: I Set a name
    Data Bearer: Wireless LAN
    WLAN netw. name: linksys_SES_14445 (as searched by the phone and automatically set)
    Network Status: Hidden
    WLAN network.mode: Infrastructure
    WLAN security mode: WPA/WPA2
    WLAN security sett..:
    WPA mode: Pre-shared key
    Pre-shared key: key provided by router settings (the wpa share key)
    TKIP encryption: Allowed.
    In the advanced setings there are IPV4 SETTINGS
    with phone ip address dns adress, but these are set to auto.
    Any ideas. Your help would be much appreciated.Message Edited by blue13x on 10-22-200609:55 PM

  • Gate Way Connection dropped - Urgent

    Hi,
      We created TCP/IP RFC destination. Through which we are calling the .NET services. The Listener running at .NET side. We can able to call the .NET function module. At this point of time we can see the entry(RFC) in TCode SMGW -->Goto --> Logged on clients.
      But over the period when we call the .NET function we are getting the Dump as follows.
    Runtime Errors : CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR
    "CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPECMINIT'#Transaction program not registered ""
    Error text........... "program TDF_INT not registered"
    Description.......... "TP TDF_INT not registered"
    AT this point of time we cant see the entry(RFC)in TCode SMGW.
    <u>Note:</u> When we restart the Listener at .NET side, i can able to call .NET Function module.
    We are able to see whether gate way is opened or not.
    Is there any way to Connect the gate way programmatically? Or anybody could say me why we its breaking the connection after some time
    Raja T

    Hi
    We’re also getting the similar kind of problem. We have .Net connector, but when it talks with SAP , its giving short dump . With "user name " does not exist . Finally we have posted the message to SAP.
    What you can do to trace the problem :
    You can also run the report: RSRFCTRC (TO Trace RFC ) OR  Tr. S_ALR_87101279.
    FYI OSS note # 313971
    Symptom
    The "CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_REJECTED" runtime error occurred.
    Dumps or RFC errors occur in the syslog or in the Developer Trace files (dev_w*) for the SAPSYS user in a dialog process.
    These errors occur every 5 minutes.
    The analysis displays the SAPMSSY8 report or certain function modules used by the monitor architecture as the error source.
    CAUTION: Various system components may cause error messages for the SAPSYS (AB0) user. This note is limited to error messages from data collectors in the monitor architecture. Refer also to Note 487873.
    Other terms
    SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE, X_ERROR, CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_REJECTED, RZ20, sapdba, CONTROL_PERF_REQUEST, AB0, RZ03
    Reason and Prerequisites
    When restarting the system, certain reports (Startup methods) are executed in monitoring, to create subtrees for different subject areas in RZ20 (for example, database monitoring).
    For these subtrees to be supplied with data in the current system, additional reports or function modules (data collective methods) must run on a regular basis.
    You can start startup methods and data collective methods online or in the background. Online, they run on the SAPSYS user. The SAPSYS user only has limited rights, particularly with regard to RFC calls.
    RFC error messages in the monitoring area can occur in customer-specific methods.
    However, there are also some SAP standard methods for the database monitoring agent of RFC syslog messages.
    An external command is executed via SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE on the database host in these data collective methods (function modules/reports). If they are not running on the database but rather on another application server, an RFC call is started, which causes the SAPSYS user to terminate.
    The following methods should only run on the central instance:
    CCMS_DB_Freespace_CT
    CCMS_DB_Indices_CT
    CCMS_DB_LogMgt_CT
    CCMS_DB_OptStat_CT
    Change this configuration for these methods:
    New:
    RZ21 -> method definition -> Control -> startup method
    X Execute method immediately after monitoring segment start
    X Only on central instance
    Save the configuration.
    Solution
    The following applies for methods not provided in the SAP standard system:
    Most RFC problems in the monitoring area (RZ20) can be solved by changing the configuration for the data collection methods and startup methods concerned.
    1. To find out which data collective method generated an RFC error message, an RFC trace must be generated on the host on which the RFC syslog messages occur. For more information about this, see note 176277.
    In transaction SM50, activate the trace for dialog processes until the error message has occurred in the syslog again. The syslog displays the affected work process (for example, dev_w0) and the related dev_rfc* (dev_rfc0) file displays the RFC initiator.
    2. In some cases the RFC initiator in the dev_rfc file is a report or function module that is directly entered as a method in
    RZ21-> Method definition
    In other cases, only a where-used list for the RFC initiator leads to a method in RZ21. The following always applies:
    3. You can always specify which host is to be used to execute the method.
    RZ21 ->
      Method definition
           -> <Display/Change>
                   -> Control -> Execute Method
                      Execution -> Execute Method on
    Check whether for your site method (local server,
    any server, etc.) and execution type (dialog or background) are set in such a way that in the case of RFC calls (if the method uses these) no authorization problems arise.
    4. As of Release 4.6B
    You can also specify an executing server for startup methods.
    RZ21 ->
      Method definition
           -> <Display/Change>
                   -> Control -> Startup Method
                       -> Execute Location of Startup Method.
    Check to see whether this configuration is correct.
    Up to Release 4.5B: (The problem is corrected as of Release 4.6B.)</>
    CAUTION: Here, it is not yet possible to specify the application server to be used to execute a startup method.
    In particular, methods that run as data collectors in the background, if they are simultaneously startup methods, are also executed once in the dialog during the system restart. This once-off execution in the dialog occurs on an any server (cannot be specified). If the startup method was unsuccessful, it is restarted the next time you start the interactive dispatcher (after 5 minutes).
    ! This means that even a method that should !
    ! actually run in the background, writes RFC !
    ! error messages in the Syslog every 5 minutes !
    Possible workaround.
    - Remove the startup indicator for this method
    - For all application servers, delete the node
      CCMS Selfmonitoring
       -> MoniInfra<AppServer>
           -> Tooldispatching (short running tasks)
               -> STARTUP<XXXXXX>
    that was created for the method affected (name of the method in the long text).
    - Start the method manually (Transaction SE38 or SE37).
    This bypasses the startup mechanism that causes the RFC error messages
    <b>P.S award the points</b>
    Thanks

  • N95 WLAN Connection problems - Orange Livebox (UK)

    I am trying to get the N95 to connect to the internet wirelessly through Orange Livebox (UK). I have run the WLAN wizard and the phone has identified it. I have input the WEP key and thats worked fine.......except everytime I try to connect to the net via this method I get a connection error. Has anybody else had WLAN connection problems? Can anybody help?

    hi,
    did you press "1" button at the back of the Livebox before pairing ?
    what kind of error message do you get on the N95 ?
    does it fail the same way when you go through the homescreen "WiFi scanning / Start Web Browsing" or through Tools / WLAN Wizard ?

  • N95 HTML Web Pages

    I've recently purchased an N95 and cannot find how to display Web Pages in HTML format, it only displays them in a WAP/Mobile format. I access the Internet via the WLAN, has anyone got any ideas as to why the pages only show up in WAP format and not HTML?

    Thanks for the reply, I think this may be the cause of my problem. How do you change the defined access point i.e. the WLAN to be an Internet Access Point as opposed to a WAP one?

  • N95 WLAN makes my Linksys hang

    Really with my N95, but...
    When I use my home network's WLAN to browse the web for about five minutes, the connection is lost
    Worse, it is actually the wireless Linksys router that hangs up. My laptop cannot find it either. The only way to get the WLAN back is to power off/on the router. N95 finds the WLAN after that without having to power it down first.
    Am I the only one with this problem or is this a known firmware issue?

    To follow up this post:
    With *#0000# I got:
    V 12.0.013
    19-06-07
    RM-159
    Nokia N95 (D5.01)
    I purchased a Netgear WPN824 RangeMax router and I still got problems with the hanging WiFi connection on my Nokia N95. Only that this time it was the N95 that got frozen and not the router. I found the following remedy with the search engine:
    Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Wireless LAN -> Options -> Advanced Settings -> (Warning..) Yes -> Automatic Configuration (Disabled) -> Power Saving (Disabled).
    After I disabled the power saving feature the connection remained stable even if the signal level was medium or low. Previously in these cases I got quickly stuck both with Netgear and Linksys ADSL routers.
    To be noticed that I have never had problems with N95 in our corporate WiFi network where the signal level is high everywhere. Clearly this is a compatibility issue in the handshaking between the router and N95 in the case the latter decides that it is time to cut off for a while in the sake of the battery life.

  • N95 WLAN Browsing Costs and Packet Data

    I have recently purchased an N95 and am accessing the Internet via my home Wireless Network provided by Virgin Media instead of using the standard Access Point provided by the Mobile Operator i.e. Orange Internet - by doing this, I assume I would incurr no charges from Orange when surfing the Internet as I am using my own Broadband connection?
    A seperate question, but related, how does the Packet Data transfer work? My default Access Point for this is Orange Internet, is this a different thing to the WLAN Access Point i.e. my Home Network or is is related? Does the Packet Data work when I'm connected to the Internet or is it mainly for messaging etc? Should I change the default Access Point for this to my Home Network or leave it as it is i.e. Orange Internet?

    Hi sj219706
    In answer to your first question, there are no further costs incurred using WLAN with your Virgin Media Broadband connection.
    With regards your second question it depends a little upon how generous your GPRS = General Packet Radio Service data allowance with Orange is.
    Can I use Nokia Maps application as an example? Unless disabled an active network connection is needed, this may either be through GPRS(Orange) or WLAN(Virgin Media). If you are within range of your WLAN this is your preferred access point.

  • WLAN Web Authentication

    I'm trying to set up web authentication for our guest wlan.  We have a WLC 5508 and I was able to get LDAP working sucessfully.  Does anyone know if there is a way to read user accounts from a group instead of an OU?  I was hoping to allow individual departments the ability to change the password for their guest account.

    Well Ravinder, I'm afraid that your problem is clearly on the Ruckus Controller then if the problem only happens with web authentication.
    I understand that the network becomes slow right ? It's not the ACS response time that is slow ? that would just affect the login page submit time.

  • N95 - Wlan Proxy Server...

    Hiya,
    I'm pretty sure there's no way of setting a proxy in the web browser on the N95, or using Opera...
    If I'm mistaken, I'm sure I'll be told lol
    Does anyone know of a browser that does allow you to set a proxy server? Just so I can use the wifi at work
    Thanks

  • N95 WLAN Problems

    I am having problems connecting to the internet using my WLAN at the office. The connection allows me to connect ot the local intranet in the office but when i try to connect to the internet error message appears as "Gateway No Reply". I have checked all the IP's and Login including the WEP key everything seems fine. Can anyone Help Me?

    One thing to check would be to ensure your DNS IP is set. From previous experience the N95 returns the same message if it is unable to resolve hostnames to IPs.
    Alternatively your work environment may have a policy of only allowing certain IP addresses out on the internet.Message Edited by edwardquan on 07-Aug-200708:54 AM

  • Nokia N95 Wlan Wizard has stopped working

    Hi
    Ive had my phone since July and my wlan wizard had been working perfectly up till yesterday. I checked the wlan wizard details and it says the signal is strong 100% and my network is named etc, there does not seem to be a problem there. Everytime i try to start web browsing the browser wont load, the screen refreshes but just stays on the Wlan Wizard screen.
    Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this??
    many thanx
    Dawn

    @ mizz71,
    Have you configured your access point prior to browsing the internet? The wizard only tells what is the available WLAN access point(SSID), you have to select which one you wanted to use be it secured or open.
