Yes, N9500GT-MD1G-OC support SLI:

No that's not the same card. They didn't list the model, could be N9500GT-MD512/D2 which don't support SLI:

  • P55-CD53 Phase Control

I run all 4 cores of an i5 at 100% at 2.66GHz 24/7 without Turbo Boost and without any other overclocking.  I have DDR3 1333 memory running at 7-7-7-21 that is not overclocked either.
The MSI Phase Control can't make up it's mind if it needs 3 or 4 phases so the first 3 lights are on constant and the 4th light blinks very rapidly all the time.
Is this okay?  Do you think I would be better off disabling Phase Control so that all 4 phases are always on?
    Thanks.

  • Windows 7 drivers necessary on MSI P55-CD53?

I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Everything works fine without installing any drivers and there are no unrecognized devices in device manager.
Is it worth downloading and installing the MSI drivers for the motherboard and graphics card?

  • HDTV on MSI N9500GT-MD512Z

    Hello !
I’ve got some problems with connecting my Samsung TV LA26B450 with my MSI N9500GT-MD512Z. I tried HDMI cable , I tried HDMI-to-DVI , …  On my TV I only see “ No signal “ , but the videocard does really send something to my TV ( otherwise I get “ Check signal cable “ ). When I check Nvidia Control Panel , there isn’t a second monitor or TV. When I connect a normal monitor ( not a TV ) , it works.
I also tried to use another videocard (NX7100GS-TD128E) with that HDMI-to-DVI converter , and that worked. But I need it for my 9500GT…
I tried it in Windows XP , Vista and Se7en , but with no result.

  • R5570-MD1G driver

    Hi,
First I would like to say that while registering for this forum I saw probably the most ridiculous CAPTCHA ever, it was not readable and CAPTCHA reload did not function. I then clicked the "read" link and opened an mp3 file which of course does not tell you the case of the letter you have to press so is essentially useless. Oh yes, I have Firefox 3.6.3 if that matters.
Second, I have a question for the MSI support folks regarding a video card that I bought in March of this year: R5570-MD1G. I have misplaced the CD that came with the product as I usually do, assuming that the vendor always has the driver package readily available for download. I was also thinking that AMD generic Catalyst drivers would work for me as well. Well, I guess I was wrong on both fronts: latest CCC from AMD says that my active GPU is not supported by it, while I cannot locate download page for the R5570-MD1G drivers provided by MSI itself. I downloaded the LiveUpdate4 utility which is not detecting any software/BIOS updates. So I guess I am stuck. Also, what is the driver package update history for R5570-MD1G from MSI? I bet AMD had released about 10 updates to their Catalyst pack since March, while MSI LiveUpdate thingy did not provide me with any updates ever. The OS in question is Win2008R2 if this is relevant. Any support from MSI folks would be appreciated.

Well, I just simulated a registration and clicked through ~20 different of those sign strings.  Not one of them was unreadable to me.  Also, they are not more difficult to read than other visual verifications strings out there.  You made it here to open a topic.  That means there was nothing that was utterly unreadable to you.
Well, I was able to register, but I had to do some guessing of the letters which I cannot recall ever doing with other captchas. The "reload" link is an href to Code: [Select]
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?action=register which does not work. Just gives one an overall impression, that's it, not a biggie.
    Quote from: Jack t.N. on 23-June-10, 16:33:26
Please keep in mind that this is essentially a user-to-user forum.  The MSI guys registered here rarely ever post.  The active members of the forum are all users, just like you.  If you want to get in contact with MSI Support directly, use one of these links:
    (non-US, global Support):  http://support.msi.com/
    (US Support): http://service.msicomputer.com/msi_user/ts_form.aspx
That is strange. I would have expected a different kind of attitude on the forum hosted under vendor's official domain (from experience), but I guess you're right. My sarcasm shouldn't be directed to you folks, obviously.
    Quote from: Jack t.N. on 23-June-10, 16:33:26
MSI does not really release drivers nor does MSI really "edit" the drivers released by AMD/ATI but usually just provides the same drivers as they are.
Well they do not provide anything downloadable for R5570-MD1G driver, which I find very strange. Other products have links to actual drivers. I checked couple of other MSI ATI products.
    Quote from: Jack t.N. on 23-June-10, 16:33:26
Mh, strange.  It should work.  Any chance there is some Windows related mess you have there?  Can you put on a parallel installation for testing?
Well, if there is a mess then it was caused exclusively by the MSI drivers themselves.
    Quote from: Jack t.N. on 23-June-10, 16:33:26
Do you have any problems with you current driver?
The strange thing is that the driver itself is fine. It seems that the driver part of the official AMD package installed without problems. It is the CCC part that does not like something. I remember having these kind of issue when I initially bought the card. The first thing I did is attempted to install the card with official AMD driver, got issues with CCC, uninstalled it, then installed the pack from MSI with this ultracool fighter/interceptor logo (MSI branded I guess). It worked generally fine. I thought alright, I bought the card from newegg the day the card and R5570 was announced/released, so maybe AMD official Catalyst pack is not updated yet and the vendors have custom/new driver for it and AMD official line will catch up eventually. Well, it seems that I was wrong.
    Thanks for your help.

  • P6NGM-FIH vs. N9500GT-MD512Z

    Hello,
I own a MSI P6NGM-FIH mainboard since some weeks, without problems. Today I got a brand new MSI N9500GT-MD512Z graphics card. Unfortunatly, the graphics does not function with this board, it boots with the internal mainboard graphic card even if I select PCI-E graphic card in BIOS. The N9500GT is running fine in a MSI P35 Neo2-FR mainboard. I have installed all power connectors to the mainboard, the graphic card itself has no power connector. It also does not show up in Windows XP as a new device. The mainbaords BIOS is the latest version (1.4). How to fix this?

Between each 2 screws is 5,5Cm of space
Diagonal: +- 8 cm of space.

  • N240GT MD1G - Resetting resolution

    I need help...
I've gotten myself a new graphics card, a MSI N240GT-MD1G to be precise. Not a heavy thing by a long shot, but way better than my integrated piece of  that doesn't even have OpenGL support.
Anyways, I'm having some problems getting the resolution to work properly...
I'm used to running my desktop at 1280*1024 (the max my monitor can handle), but for some reason this graphics card doesn't like anything but 640*480. I've installed several drivers now (it's supposed to use the nvidia ION drivers), and when using a clean install things work great... UNTIL I do anything that requires either a reboot or running in fullscreen.
If I do run a fullscreen application I'm reverting back to 640*480, and it stay that way until I clear the driver and reinstall from skratch. Same if I reboot; When I boot back up I'm at the ugly ol' 640*480.
Can easily be fixed by reinstalling again, but it's a bloody hazzle.
I've also started in Safe Mode where I have removed all old drivers, rebooted back into Safe Mode andreinstalled drivers, but with no more luck. I've also tried various versions of drivers with no noticable differences.
If I enter the nVidia Control panel I get a popup saying it recommends 1280*1024 and whether I want to activate that. If I say YES I get the 15 sec countdown asking if I want to keep the "new" resolution, even if it's still 640*480.
    Here's a little DxDiag info:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100427-1636)
Language: English (Regional Setting: Norwegian (Bokmål))
    System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
    System Model: Dell DM051
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A05
    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)
    Memory: 2046MB RAM
Page File: 775MB used, 3162MB available
Here's the link to my PC model
    What can I do?!??

    1) Go into device manager and uninstall the entry for the monitor/s. Reboot and let Windows install the driver or install the manufacturer's driver from their website.
    If still no luck:
    2) Type regedit into the run box under the start menu, click the edit --> find and type DefaultSettings.XResolution. Double click the entry called 'DefaultSettings.XResolution' and change the value to 500. Find the entry for DefaultSettings.YResolution and change the value to 400. Reboot your system and see if that sorts it.
If you're worried about editing the registry, make a backup first.

  • MSI R4870-MD1G Core Clock 600Mhz / 750 Mhz ??

    Hi,
I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me about the MSI R4870-MD1G.
I purchased this card last march, and its been handling all the latest games with ease, and under normal conditions the Core temp runs pretty cool (around 49ºC/53ºC Idle) with average 40/50% duty cycle.
But, the memory temperature is quite high, inbetween 70ºC/ 72ºC idle all the way up to 79ºC/82ºC load.... and since we´ve hit the summer here in sunny Portugal, both core and memory are now a couple degrees higher, even got to 89ºC once a couple days ago. So last night I opened up Rivatuner 2.24 and created a faster fan speed profile to cool down the card.
While I was in Rivatuner, I noticed in Rivatuner Hardware Monitoring, that in idle (windows desktop) the Core Clock is oscillating between 600Mhz and 750Mhz every second. 1 second its 600Mhz, the next its 750Mhz (Memory Clock just stays the same at 900Mhz) ... while in load it stays at 750Mhz.
Is this behavior normal? A power saving mode or something?? If it isnt normal, how can I set it to stay at 750Mhz ?
Also, about the memory temperature... isn´t 70ºC idle and 82ºC load a bit high??
They dont have heatsinks, and I dont know, what is the max temperature these memory chips can handle??
Speeding up the fan to 100% duty doesn´t cool it more then just a couple degrees, I think the max I could cool it to was 68ºC.
    Thanks for your assistance,

Yes its normal VGA changes clocks depend of needs.

  • N9800gt-MD1G -- does it work in a pcie x16 1.0?

just purchased an MSI N9800-MD1G, the box says pcie 2.0 slot but my current motherboard only has 1.0 slots, i plugged it in and the card doesnt seem to be operataing at capacity like its in low power mode. Does it get enough power from a pcie 1.0 slot? the card is a power saving card so it uses less power in idle mode but its not performing under load either. Also the card doesnt come with a pcie supplement power input either like a regular 9800gt.
    -- any suggestions?

Since it has no extra power connectors, all it can get from the PCIe slot is ~75W, thats the most the slot can provide.
Furthermore and no offense, but since it has no extra power connectors and the core is only running @550MHz, dont be expecting GTX performance.
Its become sort of a budget/powersaving card, since its clocked down and stripped of its powerconnector, a normal 9800GT has its gpu running @600MHz or higher.
If you had one with 1 or 2 connectors, speeds and performance would be higher, since more power could be delivered that way.
    Look here for specs:
    http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=130&cat2_no=136&prod_no=1817
What games are you playing with it and on what resolution? Most games should be good playable running them @1680*1050 or at lower resolution, going higher would mean big performance drop.
Run a 3DMark06 test and compare your score with others with similar card to see if scores are up to par.

  • MSI 4870 MD1G - Annoying Artifact problem ...

    Greetings!
I tried to find a solution to my problem, but unfortunately I didn't find anything ... So:
I bought a MSI 4870 MD1G card 2 months ago to my new PC.
    Specs:
    AMD Phenom II X2 - 550
    Gigabyte 770XT-UDP4
    4GB OCZ Platinum 1600 MHz DDR3
    Samsung Pinpoint F1 1TB
    MSI 4870 MD1G
    Enermax Liberty 400W
I was try it, run a lot of tests and I was very happy with it, it's fast and stable ...
But ... after a few days later I started a game (STALKER Clear Sky ...) and some graphics artifacts appears! I quickly quit from the game and check temperatures and anything ... but everything seems to be ok ... (I didn't OC the card ...)
I was downloaded some GPU tests (Furmark, GPU Caps Viewer, etc ...) and I found a lot of artifacts ...
After when I restarted my PC, the problem dissapears ... There is no artifacts, an I can play more than 8 hour without any problems ...
Few days after ... Artifacts again ... I just restart my computer and the problem is fixed ...
I was made a lot of trials, with XP, Vista and Win7, with different drivers (9.6, 9.7, 9.8, 9.9 ...) and the artifacts always come back ... If I let to run the game/testprogram to run with artifatcts, the VPU Recovery is fix the problem, or I need to restart my pc ...
    But its very annoying ...
It's hard to reproducate this problem, so I don't want to RMA this Card ... (Actually I like it, quiet and fast ) ...
    Any idea?
Thanks for the help! (And sorry for my English ...)

wow, I mean WOW!!! I removed the gigantic 220mm fan, set fan on the board to 60% (almost inaudible in my system) and set the memory to 925MHz... It helped! It really helped! I saw one or 2 black squares in 1.5 hour game but it much more stable than 100% fan / 900MHz memory. Amazing! How did you come up with that solution?
    Great!
I played some hours with the problem and try a lot of ideas (Thats my work too, I'm a HW/SW troubleshooter in an electronik factory )
I'm happy, because we found a temporary solution ... So we need to wait for the official solution

Plus: every time when i use the pc, at the begining i see dots, lines , and screen tearing in media and games and the temperature  rise 2 66-71,and after  1-2 min the screen goes black then return again and all the problems gone and the temp return 2 normal.
is it a hardware problem or a driver issue?

thx for the help but i already fixed the problem:
for who is having a problem similar 2 me use this method
    1) First uninstall all component CCC with traditional method through Vista x64 "uninstall a program"
    2) Reboot the system and again make sure everything is off the system.
    3) Go back to the "Uninstall a program" list and ensure that there is no other ATI specific software listed. If there is use the same method and remove it and restarting the system when complete.
    4) Go to computer under "C" hard drive and locate folder ATI and remove it manualy.
    5) This is what I have made myself : restart computer in safe mode and with driver sweeper clean all entries concerning ATI driver.
    6) Restart in normal mode and clean registries entries with the soft Ccleaner.
    7) Shut down the computer and retrieve the cards and replug only one card .
    8) Restart the computer.
    9) disable non microsoft services and startup programs:
    - click Start and then click Run (execute)
    -Type "msconfig" without quotes
-click on tab "General" and after click on "Selective Startup" and clear the "Load System Services" check box.
-Under tab "Startup" click to clear "Load Startup Items"
-On the "Services " tab click to select the "Hide All Microsoft Services" check box and then click "Disable All"
-click applies and ok and restart the computer.
    10) Installing the driver with only one card pluged
    11) shut down the computer and install the second card with bridge interconnect.

  • MSI VN220GT MD1G|GeForce 220 GT - causing lock ups/screen freezes

Hi, I've been searching everywhere for my problem, and the things I find usually are left unanswered :(
I recently upgraded my old graphics card (GeForce 7300 GT) to the GeForce 220 GT, at that time I was using Windows XP SP3. Everything went fine then, I downloaded the newest driver from nVidia (195.62) and restarted, everything went smoothly.
It was then my computer started to freeze, to the point where I can't do anything (mouse/keyboard unresponsive). I am forced to force reboot. This freezing usually happens randomly when there's nothing to provoke the problem.
So I decided to upgrade to the new Windows 7. I did everything it told me to and everything went very well. But the problem still occurs, but more often, and around 30 minutes after logging in. I got the Windows 7 32 bit version of the new nVidia driver (195.62) and installed it. Did nothing. I have also tried to update windows which also did nothing.
These forum threads ask the same question I am now asking:

I am currently posting this in safe mode, very frustrated too. Help would be greatly appreciated, I have no where else to find answers :S

I did some more research on the net and it seems this PSU is labelled under many different names. I found a Portuguese site that did the test for this unit and then used the google translator tool.
    refer to http://www.clubedohardware.com.br/artigos/1818/1
    Some translated extracts:
The Coletek is a national brand aimed at the OEM market, or its source is aimed at companies that assemble PCs They have a separate brand for products geared to the retail market, the C3Tech. Today we test the model LC-8460BTX S (which, despite its name, is an ATX and not a BTX) that is sold as a source of 450 W. Really?.....
....Speaking of curiosity, in Figure 7 you can see the marking of the type of fuse in the circuit board of the source. All sources bring this information. But the curious thing here is that the marking indicates that for a source from 150 to 200 W a 5 A fuse should be used and to a source from 230 to 300 W from a 6.3 A fuse should be used. As this power supply uses a fuse of 6.3 A, we have a source between 230 and 300 W, according to their own existing markup on the printed circuit board thereof. As the manufacturer can turn that into 450 W on the label of the source is a magic that Mr. M can not explain.....
....The Coletek LC-S 8460BTX burned when trying to draw about 225 W (which would be our test number seven). So the most you can pull it was about 190 W (which would be our test of 200 W). More information and video on the next page.
So I recommend that you perhaps translate the whole article to get the full results. In your case, I believe the PSU should be the first place where you should try something a bit more realistic before you do anything else.

For a system with a 220 installed PSU with +12V~30A minimum is recommended. My recommendation is to get nothing less than a quality PSU such as a Corsair VX450W +12V~33A. That junk PSU is typical of the worthless ones that are often provided by case manufacturers and examples of similar units that can be purchased for as little as $10 (USD) on eBay.
Thank-you so much guys, you've most likely have just diagnosed and gave me a solution for my problem
At first I never knew all PSU's were different, and that my new graphics card could handle whatever I had in my system at the moment.
I don't think I will bother checking my PSU if my current PSU is a Okia or a Xion, I may as well upgrade the thing anyway
Just some things I need cleared up though:
Firstly, is it the Corsair VX450W that I would want to buy and install to run my card? Is it affordable?
And secondly, are PSU's hard to install/upgrade? Where can I find a guide/tutorial for this kind of thing?
