N96 DRM media

I downloaded content off the bbc Vod website, using the code and my imei number of my phone, the content i downloaded works fine on my pc but windows media player 11 will not sync the DRM protected stuff to the phone it says device needs to be updated, i have the latest firmware update, i have the DRM license so i can sync but it still wont, anyone know what i may need to do?
N96 software 11.101

You need to connect the Phone using PC SUITE mode or MEDIA TRANSFER.
Then you should see MTP devices (Phone memory, Mass Memory and Memory card) in WMP11.
BUT, your contents may not allow you to sync them. DRM may be preventing this. So check with the content provider and ask if they support sync with a mobile player.

    Hi,
Do you mean you cannot play these DRM movies so that you attempt to update Windows media player?
You can upgrade the security components of your digital media player to play protected files.

  • Embedding DRM VIDEO in a SWF

I have a project that requires the use of DRM media. The spec
was to have a DRM managed windows media file embeded in flash to
create content segments. Anyone from Macromedia when you get this
    message, is this possible?

The FLVPlayback component is there (Window -> Components
-> [from "video" dropdown in Components list] ->FLVPlayback)
From what I have discovered, you need to be scripting in AS 2.0.
The component does not seem to be an option in AS 3.0. If you need
to change the scripting version, you can do this through
File->Publish Settings and in the window that opens, choose the
"Flash" tab and change the scripting version from the drop down
menu third from the top. As a rule, if the .flv is larger than a
couple megs, I would stream them via the FLVPlayback. You can
choose to have the file (s) simply play on open, or you can use
buttons to trigger the upload. Very simple and effective tutorial
on how to do this here:

    Hope this helps!

  • N96 Usb connection

Hi guys just a quick technical question.
When i try to connect my n96 to media player it will recognize it as a n96 but on the phone it will have usb connecting an will stay that way.
It also does the same thing on pc suite can any of you shed any light on this problem?
    Many thanks , Tim

What do mean connecting to media player? Please explain furher. When you connect your N96 by usb to PC/Laptop you are presented 4 modes of connection. Namely Pc suite, mass storage, image transfer & media transfer.
If it stays on connecting, it means it could not establized proper connection & loading the drivers.Did you have previuos version of pcsuite when you install that of N96? If yes, you should uninstall it & all pertaining to Nokia. Then run pcsuite cleaner reboot & install the pcsuite for N96.

  • IMac user who has Apple TV...and I'm in need of feedback/help/guidance

    Hello,
I have a 40GB ATV which I got the day they came out. I've been a fan of it but I think I've hit my limit on how quirky it is. So, looking at other options, I've distilled from these forums and the web that I have a couple of options should I NOT want to buy a Mac Mini. I can utilize the DVI output and optical audio output from my iMac and do the following:
    1. Use my iMac with Plex - I've downloaded it and started to tinker with it. My biggest gripe after playing with it for one day is that I keep my iTunes library VERY clean with it's meta-data but Plex seems to not want to use the iTunes library meta-data when it comes to Movies (music appears fine) - I will need to rename a lot of stuff - not the end of the world, but another thing to do.
    2. Use Front Row as my media center - this has +/-'s depending on how you look at it: it is a simple interface (I don't mind) but the only way to use it and not have my iMac (in same room as TV) mirror the screen is to use some third party software. Also, in general what I'm curious about is video quality when you compare AppleTV, Plex and Front Row - if, for example, you use an HD movie purchased from iTunes as the sample, should the quality be the same across all three of these options? FWIW, my TV is a Sony Bravia from about 4 years ago - it maxes at 1080i, not "p".
    Thank you in advance.
    Steve

Beware (if you haven't found out already) that Plex won't be able to play any DRM media from iTunes (that's movies, TV and music). This alone may tip the balance on your decision.
Some people have spent time ripping DVDs and don't have much media from the iTunes store and or have music that doesn't have DRM on it. This makes Plex an option as it can then playback those media files.
Plex and Front row would be running on your iMac, so the computer needing to be near the TV and mirroring is the same for those two. Obviously AppleTV doesn't have that issue.
Quality wise there shouldn't be any much of a difference. Not sure how the older AppleTV does with HD content.

  • Why new iphone 4 (IOS5) tries to update IOS5 when I hit itune restore?

I just bought a new iphone 4 pre-installed with ios 5 today.   I hit check update on itune, It tells me I have latest software.  I hit restore and it's downloading software.  Is there other updates besides IOS 5?  I already have ios 5 then what is being download?  Maybe there is a newer version since the manufacture?

Pick only ONE Apple ID and use only that one from now on.
You can still authorize your computer for the DRM media from the other account. Just don't use the other account to buy anything else.
Apple currently does not allow two accounts to be merged, but as long as you authorize your computer for the to-be-retired account and then never use that account again, it shouldn't be too much of a bother going forward.

  • Any way to play iTunes video/audio on Droid?

I have always used Apple products and wanted an iPhone, but I live in rural Minnesota so my only 3G option was Verizon. It's a decent phone, but the only problem is that all of my iTunes downloads won't transfer. I would hate to have to use a different program to download stuff, because I also have an Apple TV... Is there any sort of application for my Macbook that would allow me to transfer to my Droid? I don't really want to do it illegally, but it seems like if it's just for personal use on a device that I own it wouldn't be a problem. I would be able to get a copy of Toast from my dad, would that be able to take off the DRM protection? I don't know that much about Toast but it seems like it could be useful for this issue. Any ideas?

Motorola's Media Link integrates nicely with iTunes, but I think it is Windows-only (and any DRM media would not transfer). Keep an eye on the Motorola user forum to see if anyone has a Mac solution.

  • Can i load/play itunes on my windows mobile 6.1 device?

Yup. That's my question. I have an htc touch pro 2 and am wondering if I can download/play anything from itunes. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Non-DRM media (music) from iTunes could be copied to a separate folder and that folder could be copied to your android phone but otherwise no.

I get the error "drm device registration failed" using Verizon Media Manager on an android tablet.  Any ideas? You get this error if the device is "rooted" (meaing you have full root access).  There is an app in the Google Play Store that will temporarily allow you to un-root the device, and when done the registration will work.   I use OTA RootKeeper to temporarily un-root and then re-root.  The device must be un-rooted each time you attempt to use the Verizon Medai Manager app to view content.

  • Windows Media Player DRM

Just wondering if there's any work-around for the problem of certain sites using Windows Media Player's Digital Rights Management when it comes to playing video on like MTV.com and MediaZone.com.
Below is the message I get when trying to play video on MTV's site."
<In order to offer a broad selection of full-length music videos on-demand and free of charge, MTV Overdrive uses Windows Digital Rights Management (DRM) to protect videos from unauthorized re-distribution.
Unfortunately, Microsoft's Windows Media Player Plug-in for Macintosh does not support Windows DRM. If DRM support becomes available for Macintosh, MTV will develop a version of MTV Overdrive that works on a Mac.>
Are Mac users forever screwed on this issue (especially since Microsoft stopped development of their player) or does anyone have a work-around?
    Thanks, Ray

Once the EU gets done with it's antitrust rulings against MS, and forces them to unbundle all it's media from the operating system, there may be new versions for mac available.
I think the EU is going to do more than a wrist slap like the US did with MS.

  • DRM for Windows Media Player on the ipod

My ipod is worthless, if it can't play files with DRM for Windows Media Player. My library, that offers this files for download says, it would cost 50.000 dollars to provide also ipod-compatible files. Because they can't spend this money, I will need a new mp3-player!

The specs for the iPod (box, website) are pretty clear about what formats it supports. Unfortunately, protected WMA files are not supported.
If the rights you have for those files includes burning them to an audio CD, you might want to do that.

  • Windows Media Player DRM prevents me watching football on my iMac - HELP!!

    Hi there -
I'm having some real problems trying to watch my beloved Scottish Football games live (or recorded) on my iMac.
I'm a new mac user. Used to be a pc owner (my appologies there) and watched all my games with no problem. Games are shown either live or recorded via Windows Media Player.
I downloaded Windows Media Player for Mac (and something called Stffit Expander), but to no avail.
Problem I seem to have is that the Digital Rights Management (DRM) for Windows Media Player is preventing me from watching the games on a Mac - seems that WMP does not support Safari, although Firefox does not work either, so I guess it is the Operating System? I have been told by a work colleague that basically I'm stuffed unless I put a Windows Operating System on the iMac, which I would really like to avoid doing at this point.
Can anyone out there help me with this at all? Am I destined to miss out on the games because I am now a Mac user? Seems a tad unfair that! If it helps, the websites I watch the games at are www.heartsfc.co.uk and www.internetfootball.co.uk
I'm at my wits end here, but I guess it's my own fault for not checking into this before I bought the iMac.
Anyway, I'd appreciate ideas/comments/recommendations etc, just keep in mind that I am no whizz on the Technical side of things.
Any Scots in Canada with Macs who have the same problem?
    Thanks for your time all!
    Angus

    Hi, Angus.
    Unfortunately, you're out of luck:
    • Windows Media Player 9 for Mac (WMP9) does not play Windows Media files protected with anything later than version 1.3 of Microsoft's DRM. This is documented here on Microsoft's Web site, under the heading "Support for Digital Rights Management." If the files in question use a version of Microsoft's DRM later than 1.3, they will not play in WMP9 on a Mac.
    • Flip4Mac, the replacement for WMP9, does not support any WIndows Media files encoded with Microsoft's DRM on Mac OS X. It states on this page that "Note: Flip4Mac does not support content that is protected with Windows Media digital rights management (DRM). "See also this Flip4Mac Knowledge Base article.
You need to check with the firm from which you view/download the files to determine the version of Windows DRM they employ. Information concerning available versions of Windows DRM can be found here.
Note that this is not a Mac problem: it is due to Microsoft refusing to make its DRM available on the Mac, i.e. a Microsoft business decision intended to keep you locked-in to the Windows platform.
If your iMac is one of the new Intel-based iMacs, then you have two options for running Windows XP on your iMac, which would then permit you to view the videos in Windows:
    • Apple's Boot Camp Public Beta;
    • Parallels Desktop for Mac
along with with a copy of Windows XP.
The key difference between these is that Boot Camp requires you startup in either WIndows or Mac OS X: you can only run one OS at a time. Parallels Desktop lets you run Mac OS X and Windows simultaneously.
Both approaches have straightforward installation instructions. If I were in your position, I'd opt for Parallels Desktop given the ability to with with both operating systems simultaneously.
    Good luck!
