N96 Mail for Exchange synching calendar, email and...

I am currently using MfE on a N96 phone to sync my calendar, exchange email and supposedly tasks with my Exchange mailbox through Entourage on a MacBook.  I haven't had any problems synching the email and calendar, but for some reason tasks/to-do items that I set on the MacBook are not showing up on the phone and vice-versa.  Anyone have a similar problem?
Thanks.

Scratch that...I figured out that the problem lies on the Entourage-Exchange side.  Currently, Entourage 2008 doesn't permit syncing tasks or notes with Microsoft Exchange.  Apparently that is about to change with the recent release of a Entourage Beta version that is supposed to address that problem:

  • Will Mail For Exchange sync calendar and contacts ...

    Dear fellow Nokia Users,
I have had my E71 for 3 weeks and I am very happy with it!
I am running a small company, and I am considering moving our email from IMAP to Exchange. As I have understood things, there is an application to install to use MFE.
Will calendar and contact be synced on the phone, or is it just email?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Jesper

You need a Microsoft Exchange Server for Mail for EXCHANGE to work.
For push mail to work with Exchange the MfE client uses Microsoft Exchange Activesync to connect to the server.
For IMAP - I think you'll need Nokia Messaging.
If you have an Exchange Server, then your content from your Outlook based service such as your calender contacts and tasks as well as your mail will work fine.
I rent an Exchange Service from one and one that works very well with the E71.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black

  • C5 03- Mail for Exchange- Google Calendar

I dont see "Mail for Exchange" anywhere in my c5 03 phone.  I saw in[1] that it is installed automatically when email is set up.  I did that, still I dont see Mail for Exchange and no option to synch my google calendar.  I read in [2]  that  I can "select Mail for Exchange when the set up procedure ask to chose the protocol ".  I tried again with another email address and did not see this option.  Is it because I have already set up a gmail account? Do I need to uninstall it ( if so how?). Can anyone tell me ( step-by-step instructions) what I should do to see/sync my google calendar in my phone.

    Hi saigal99,
    Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
To set up a mail for exchange account on your Nokia C5-03, please go to Menu > Messaging > Options > Settings > E-mail > Mailboxes > Options > New Mailbox. After entering your e-mail address and password you should have the option "Mail for Exch.". Do you have this option? If not, which choices are displayed?
If you cannot find the Mail for Exchange option this way, please update your device or reinstall the software via Nokia Suite.
Let us know how you get on and feel free to post any other questions you may have.

  • N96 Mail for Exchange v3

I've got a N96 and due to Exchange updates my comany requires to update to Mail for Exchange v3. I've only v2.9 and it seems that v3 is not avaliable for the N96, but for the N95 it is available.
Can this be true? N96 and N95 do not differ that much.
I really need Mail for Exchange v3 for my N96...
Tried to install the N95 version but it's not possible. Is there a way to install it anyway?
Will there be Mail for Exchange v3 for the N96 in the future?

Do you really need mfe ? I use standard email setup with hotmail, just open it now and again (though could leave running) and it only takes a few seconds to update, plus I don't lose as much C as using mfe. Sorry it's not a solution

  • E90 using Mail for Exchange - Sync sent emails pro...

    Hi
I am trying to setup Mail for Exchange on a Nokia E90 and am currently trying it with the free mail2web service before deciding what is right for me
I have gone through all settings and if I sync, it syncs the inbox fine with mail2web and tasks, calendars etc, but it will not sync the sent items folder from the PC to the E90. However, if I send a mail from the E90, it appears on the PC after a sync no problem
Is this a simple setting thing or a limitation?
Say for example, I want to send 20 emails from the PC, and then sync so I can have them on my phone, I do not seem to be able to do so??
    Please help with any suggestions

    Hello, all,
    We have the following problem:
We do NOT want to exchange MAIL with MfE but still CONTACTS and CALENDAR.
We realised the connection with the echange server, and can send e-mails.
But the synchronisation of Contacts and Calendar did not succeed yet.
Maybe we do have to uninstall the synchronisation with the OVI-suite ?
    Who has a suggestion?

  • Nokia N8 Mail for Exchange deleting all emails fro...

I've got a Nokia N8 which was working perfectly fine with Mail for Exchange, but recently has got the annoying habit of deleting all the messages from my inbox and moving them all to the deleted folder.
The only thing I've done differently as of late was in linking my hotmail account to my other phone which was a E5.
I've unlinked and deleted the account from the E5, but about once a day, I will check my MFE on my N8 and all messages have been deleted to where I will moved them back from Deleted to the Inbox.
It seems like it will be fine for a couple of hours, then it will delete them.
I've removed the mailbox and reinstalled, but it keeps happening.
    Very annoying.
    Any recommendations?
I'm about ready to flash to 11.05 and back to Anna again.

flotron posted this temporary workaround in the other thread:
"I think i found the problem.. (i think i said)
For the moment no deleted messages in about 2 days, the workaround:
Don't open/use Windows Live Mail client at same time you use/connect Nokia Exchange
It seems that using Nokia and WLM at the same time makes some conflict
I hope this will solve the problem. Now from computer i'm checking my emails from the web client"
I was using Outlook as my other client, but I guess the conflict with Exchange ActiveSync was the same

  • E72 Mail for Exchange duplicate calendar entries

Installed and configured Mail for Exchange on a Nokia E72 and everything is working except that calendar entries are being duplicated multiple times!?
    Any ideas? Thanks....

We have the same problem as described here with an E72. Did you ever get a fix for it?
    Thanks.

  • E71 - Mail for exchange syncs calendar only partly

I'm pretty new to using the Mail for Exchange (latest version from Ovi) application in my E71, had a 3rd party software that handled pim sync before.
Any how, the company has moved from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange 2010 and in that process migrated data from Notes to Exchange. For some reason the Mail for Exchange application syncs only entrys changed or created in Exchange, older entrys migrated from Notes unchanged wont show up in the handset.
I have verified with handsets from other vendors that this is not an server/active sync error, fore example Apples iPhone will sync every entry. How come, anyone has any ideas?

Go to OVI store on your E71 and download Mail for Exchange.

  • Mail for Exchange - Outlook Calendar issue

    Hi,
Got Mail for Exchange installed and find that my all-day-events/memos in my PC Outlook are copied to my Nokia E65 as 00:00-23:59 meetings.
    Most frustrating.
    Advice, anyone?
    Regards // OM

Aww… I started a thread in another part of this forum about this issue. Did not see this thread. Sorry…
I have the same problem, and I find it annoying. What I’m trying right now is actually to evaluate RoadSync, which don’t have this problem. With RoadSync, an all day event in Outlook will show up as a memo on the phone.
RoadSync also integrates nicely with the built in mail software on the phone (i.e. it is not “stand alone”, as for example ProfiMail is).But so far, I don’t think is so much value added with RoadSync that I can justify $50 for it.

  • Mail for Exchange – Outlook calendar not 100% comp...

I’m using MfE 2.09.158 on my E71, and everything works fine except for a small issue/annoyance. If I add a memo on my phone’s calendar, it will appear as a meeting from 0.00 to 23.59 in my outlook calendar. On the other hand, if I add a full day entry in Outlook, it will appear as a 0.00 to 23.59 meeting on my phone. The annoying thing about this is that a full day (or multi day event) will not show up on the start screen of the phone, but a memo will. (Current meetings are not shown on the phone’s start screen; only in the calendar itself.)I’ve just started to use MfE, and earlier I used PC Suite to sync between Outlook and my phone. A full day (or multi day) entry on Outlook would appear as a memo in my phone’s calendar.
I know that there are more serious issues with MfE, but I hope that the MfE team can keep this in mind for future fixes.
    Cheers,
    M

And to reply to my own thread…
I just tested RoadSync, and RoadSync does exactly what I’m asking for here. Full day appointments in Outlook shows up as memos on my phone, etc. I guess I can buy RoadSync, which seems to be working better, but I’m cheap and I don’t want to pay $50 for something I can get for free with MfE.

  • N86 and Mail for Exchange: slow in pushing from ph...

    Hi There,
I have a  question about Mail for Exchange and it behaviour. It might be standard or it might be a bug, I just don't know.
    The problem is this:
When I send mail, set read/unread status, etc it takes a while (1 to 2 minutes, quite often 5+ minutes) to push those edits/changes to the exchange server.
When I edit a contact it takes very long (15+ minutes) to send those updates to the exchange server.
Updates from Outlook on my desktop PC to the phone (via Exchange of course) is quite fast, no problem there.
I don't know if this is expected behaviour but I have tried this on n iPod Touch and an iPhoneand there it is instant both ways. So it should be possible for Mail for Exhange to do it's stuff just as quick. Anybody know what I should expect from Mail for Exchange in this regard? The setting in Mail for Exchange is Always Active and there is no off-peak schedule)
    Setup:
    Windows 2003 Server SP2
    Exchange Server 2007 SP2
    Nokia n86 v21.006 (Vodafone 3.5G connection)
    Outlook 2007 SP2
    Cheers,
    Steven

  • Mail for Exchange and subfolders

    Hello,
im using Mail for Exchange 2.7.0 with Exchange 2007SP1 and need to sync also subfolders in the inbox , any suggestions ?

    Hello zoranbasic,
My understanding is that Mail For Exchange currently does not support the sync of subfolders. I would hope that this feature will be available really soon. I think this is one of the most wanted features in Mail For Exchange, so lets wait and hope that it is available really soon.

  • Manual Sync Mail for exchange in One tap

    Hi All
Just replaced my CEO s Iphone with a N97
She doesnt want to have auto sync - to save the battery draining out
So I have set up manula sync, the way it is now she has to tap 4 times to get it to sync.. (home page - messaging - mail for exchange - options - syncronise email) that count up to 5 taps....
she had an Iphone earlier, where she select mail from home page and while taking her to inbox does a manual sync without having to ask the phone (or tap 4 times)
is there a workaround for this?
i have tried putting Mail for Exchange on home page - still three taps (MFE - Options - Sync)
    many thanks

just got an update yesterday, i can syncronice mail, calendar and contacts (i use hotmail)
before i had to check only contacts and calendar. the mails i had to checked via hotmail aplication. now i can doi all in one.

  • No in-office WLAN connection to Mail for Exchange ...

I have installed "Mail for Exchange" on my X6 and am able to connect to exchange server via wifi from home, or in fact most other wifi access points, but not from within my office.
My office setup is a conventional LAN and comprises Draytek wifi router/modem feeding into a 16 port fast switch then distributed to networked PC's including the server running SBS2008/Exch Serv 2007.
I am able to connect, without any trouble, to the internet at large through the WLAN, but just cannot synch to the exchange server.
Any help to get in-office connectivity would be most welcome.

I'm having that very same problem. I can't see a solution to it anywhere. The coinciding entries in the mail for exchange logs are Server Error 501: Not Implemented
    I'm using an N8-00
