N96 new software version 30.033

Hi Guys,
I just upgraded my N96 software to version 30.033.099.1 and BOM later on I found my Opera Mini is not working any more....
Did any experience this issue ?

I just found out not only Opera Mini not working others installed software also not working.
I tried to uninsatll Opera mini but a error message pop "Remving failed" might this issue same as the corrupted index file like the music player's play list.
By the way I can't locate the software manager which to install/unstall software and now I only can used "C" or the option menu "Remove" to remove a installed software.

I updated my Nokia N96 to the new firmware version 30.033 after which my phone camera is not working. When I press on the camera button it gives the message (Camera Feature not Supported). I played many tricks with it but of no use. I reset my phone to the original factory setting through (*#7370#) and Multi-finger process but of no help. I even reinstalled the updated version but the problem still persists. My camera worked fine before the update but now it gives the said message and the phone hanges up on pressing the camera button. I request nokia developers to help fix this problem and check their updates for buge before uploading them to the server to save users from problems & worries. If you found any solution for the problem then please let me know it on my E-Mail ID: I will be grateful for your response.

you should not have had to pay a nokia care point for what ammounts to a warenty repair,
The camera issue with the N96 upgrade is an uncommon but known bug,
If a hard reset, or a firmware reinstall doesn't fix it then take the phone to a nokia care point and have them fix it for free under the warenty

N73 - date for new software version

Please see below the date for the next update. This came from their Director of Customer Care:
"With regards to your recent enquiry concerning software availability for your product code 0539101 for UK Country Variant I can confirm that at present you already have the latest software version available. New software version for your product should be available no later than Friday the 8th December in both our Nokia service points and Nokia Software Updater."

N70 having a new software version working with Tom...

Hey everyone,
I have read a couple of threads talking about Nokia N70 & TomTom. Did anyone get there phones flashed with the new software version which is V5.0609.2.01, 01-03-06, RM-84? and is using the latest tomtom mobile 5 version 5.2 (443). I want to know how it works and what all problems still exits.

Main problems are with the bluetooth connection being dropped.
I've had mine flashed to Version 5 firmware and it still drops the bluetooth connection to the GPS receiver.
I'm not using the genuine TomTom GPS receiver so that could be causing it.
It's not any way near as bad as version 2, that was rubbish the GPS connection dropped out every 20mins.
Then you had to switch the phone on/off to reset it.
IT's been a nightmare for alot of owners!!

80Gb Ipod new software version

I have an 80 Gb Video iPod that I bought several months ago. My friend just bought a new one this past week. Hers is slightly different (thinner form factor), but the big difference is the new software version. It's much nicer. However, my iPod does not show any upgrades for software.
Is the new interface not going to be backwards compatible with the old hardware or is there another way to get it?

You can't expect an update for your phone which was launched almost 3 years back. Anyways Symbian is in 'Maintenance Mode' which means no more major updates but only Bug fixes for the devices released much later ..

Nokia`s New Firmware (Version 30.033) for Nokia N9...

I updated my Nokia N96 to the latest updated version 30.033, which has caused my camera not working anymore. When I press the camera button it says (Camera Feature Not Supported) and the phone hangs until restarted. I “Hard Formatted” my phone but the problem still persists. I took it to a software engineer who tried to bring it back to the previous version through downgrade, which proved unsuccessful and the phone went to "white screen". My phone is still lying there for software repair from three days.This new version from nokia has really destroyed my great set. If anyone has any idea for fixing this problem then let me know.

Well it's not an new upgrade,
There have been a few reports of this issue but it appears to be relativly rare, most people update ok
Usualy a full multifingered hard reset clears it, and if not a nokia care point can fix the issue under the warenty
however your freindly software engineer, unless he is a nokia authorised repairer, has voided your phones warenty and probably killed it
you can try the multifingered reset otherwise you can take it to a nokia care point and beg them to take a look, they may fix it but you will probably be charged

What has been updated in each new software version...

I just updated my N95 8GB firmware to 30.0.0.18. My previous version was 20.0.016. It sounds like huge step when main number has increased from 20 to 30.
However in the software update news page, which the main topic in this discussion area "TOP questions about Software Updates - start here" refers to eg. http://europe.nokia.com/A4577225 only has a few sentences about the new features of new firmware version. (and actually only for version 30.0.0.15, see news subtitle "Nokia N95 software version 30.0.015 released " ).
I'd like to read more about the new features of 30.0.0.18 or 30.0.0.15.
In general, is there a site, where new features or improventmens of the firmware versions are documented?

HT1349 New software versions of iTunes and Safari hanging my XP system.

I have updated my software versions of iTunes and Safari in response to update message. Upgraded software is now causing my XP system to hang. It looks as if neither of the new versions can access the internet.

The Nokia 111 is unfortunately not capable of playing streaming video from the web, so it will not play YouTube videos.
If your phone reports no available software then it means that you already have the latest version. Series 40 phones like these have a simple Java-based operating system into which changes cannot be made without the user's explicite consent, and so they are not subsceptible to viruses

New Software Version not Uploaded

Hi,
We use a Tomcat server and Web Start to distribute
our software. We dynamically load new versions
of the software to the Tomcat server.
Java Webstart insists on loading the software from
the cache. The only way to force it to load the
new software is to clear the cache.
Has any one else had this problem?

When using the basic (non-versioned) protocol, Java Web Start makes HEAD requests to the server to compare the timestamp of each resource on the server with the one in the cache. Is your server returning the correct timestamp ?
With version-based protocol, the jnlp file must be updated to request a new version-id.

TV @anywhere new software version?

Hi all,
I just purchased the TV @anywhere from a vendor who just had them re-stocked. The WinDVR software version I have is something like: 2.0 B034.108C20 . I assume this may be the most recent release as I do have Mpeg4 encoding as a customized option. I managed to record in Mpeg4 and play it back. BUT, there doesn't seem to be any indexing, so I can't fast forward or even jump to another section. Also, I can't playback in any other format than Mpeg4. If I use the standard Mpeg2 encoding, no suitable decoder can be found to play it.
Moreover, I seem to be having other problems, such as the sound card gets hijacked by the software. Even after I quit WinDVR, I don't get any sound from any other application, no matter how I change the setup in windows multimedia control or the mixer controls. the program has crashed on me several times while I was doing harmless things. By the way, I am running Win2K with the latest service pack.
I am still trying to piece together everything, so it would be helpful if people can post their software and driver version so I can compare. If it turns out that I do have a newer version, then shame on MSI for not making it public to other people, or releasing it before it was fully debugged to new users.
