N96 pc suite problems

when i connect my usb to my n96 it keeps trying to look for a wlan connection or tmobile internet. why does it keep doing this? it was working fine up until a week ago please help as i need to transfer photos and videos

You can try to reinstall the usb cable driver. Other devices might interfere with the driver.
What's the law of the jungle?

  • N96 multimedia menu problem. Please help.

I have a N96. The problem is that once i open the main menu and then i press the close button, (the button on the right) it opens the multimedia menu. If i then press the close button to close that, it close the multimedia menu but if i press it again it does the same again, kind of in a loop. If i press the left options button this now takes me back each step of the menu depending where i was. I've found that if once i've opened the main menu and gone further into any other menu, if i press and hold the options button down and the press the exit button once, then it will go back to the previous menu as it should. However, once i let go of the options button the mutimedia menu opens again. Also if i haven't got the key lock on, the main screen light stays on. If i lock the keys the screen does go darker but you can see the message flashing up on the screen as if i'm pressing a key. I've tried everything i can think of to sort this, factory reset and hard reset, also checked to see if the buttons are stuck down but they are not. nothing makes a difference. I had this problem once before, but after a few months one day it just worked normal again. Also i've just had the phone back a week from nokia repair as they repaired it after it suffered white screen of death after a recent upgrade i tried. all firmware and such is up to date.
Please can somebody help, i really feel like throwing it through a window. Any help would be very helpful.
    thanks.

I got the same problem on N95 8GB, after firmwareupdate and format massmemory, got new pc-suiit, and all.
(but no c++ error, When i start up Map Loader it says "Waiting for Device". The USB mode on my phone is "Pc Suit", i have winxp pro)
Then i remember from the update a half year ago, i need to "start and close" maps on my phone one's first, after that all work fine.

  • N96 - PC Suite Connection Problem - Drive New driv...

    Hi everybody.
I'm happy user of Nokia phones, and after quite a long time waiting the availability I got my N96.
Pretty cool phone and so far I was quite happy.
For some reason I can not make it work with Nokia PC Suite.
I tried with the new one for NSeries and also the standard one 7.0.8.2
All the time gives this message, on both softwares.
Drive New drive unavailable. Try again?!
Trying to connect to the internet.
I'm trying to connect my phone via USB Cable CA-101.
The cable works as USB Device, on MASS Storage mode.
I changed the mode now to PC Suite and allways gives me this message, "Drive New drive unavailable. Try again?!" with option to retry or cancel... I can not stop unless I disconnect the usb cable. I must be doing something wrong.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • N96 Music Library Problems

    Hi Guys n Gals
Have a problem with my music library it won't refresh. the refresh bar will come up but it doesn't update and doesn't finish I have to manually stop it.
I have cleared the majority of my music on the phone all bar the preinstalled stuff and a few downloads from the music store (no more than 15)
I had a look on the board for people with the same problem and I tried the deletion of the 3 "private folder" files then perform a refresh.  My problem is that I started the refresh 12 hours ago - AND ITS STILL GOING!!!
I'm thinking of taking a full backup of my phone via pc suite performing a reinstall of the latest firmware restoring the files and hoping for the best!
Anyone got any solutions that do involve sending it for repair I've already had it away before for numerous other things and don't wanna part with if again if I can resolve it myself.
    Thanks xox
I love my N96.... WHEN IT WORKS!!!!!

13 hours is way, WAY too long
When I said a long time, I meant like 10 minutes!
I was going to suggest that maybe it was too many files in a single folder - used to be something that caused similar problems - however, if you've deleted all the music, that obviously can't be it.
Have you tried a factory reset?  There's a menu option under something like Tools .. Settings .. General or there are the *# numbers or the 3 finger salute.

  • N96 mass storage problem

    Hi my friends
I have nokia n96 (RM-247) not branded and I experienced some problems after I install the new firmware 30.033. When I connect the phone in mass storage mode I am receiving the following message: Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6f7c 75b6bf7c with options Cancel, Try Again, Continue. I tried all of them but after few seconds the message appears again. I tried this on several computers all of them using windows xp, still the same. When I connect the phone in PC Suite then everything is OK. Any solutions??? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like something has messed up somewhere and created a memory problem
Try taking your memory card out then connecting in mass storage, does the problem persist,
If it does then try the reset factory settings, and see if that helps,
If that doesn't work then go for a format of the mass memory followed by a
hard reset (remember to back up all of your data first)
To format the mass memory, tools, file manager ,E:Mass Memory, options, format
    To hard reset.
    1. Switch off the phone.
    2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
    3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
    4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers.

  • N96 movie licence problem

    hi
I have a Nokia n96.todya i restore my device but after i did that my Transformers movie is locked. and when you want to play it the device said the viedo is locked.
and in the licence part of the device is the licence of the movie is invalid.(sorry my english is not very good)
now how can i fix this problem.

If you made a backup using N-series PC Suite or to memory card, then the restoration of that backup should restore the licence for the film. If not, then unfortunately you have lost it.

  • N96 search bookmarks problem

I have an N96 and when I do a search it finds a webpage that I navigated ages ago to under "bookmarks". This page however is NOT stored in my bookmarks! It is actually listed twice in the search results which is also strange. How do I get rid of it? I have tried a firmware update but no joy....its not the end of the world but its quite annoying!! How do I access the bookmark folders using Nokia PC suite so i can delete this file/page?
    Thanks,
    John

Hard format procedure is here. For that, backup your mobile's contacts, messages, notes, calender and bookmarks via Nokia PC Suite backup utility. Don't backup anything else like settings or user files etc. Now backup your images, videos and music files using Windows Explorer. Now format your memory card and switch off your mobile. Now press and hold this 3 key "green call key, * and 3" together and switch on your mobile. Press and hold down that 3 button till country insertion dialogue appear. Now restore all your backup using PC Suite and explorer. This will solve your problem. If problem still causing then go to nearest Nokia Service Center and give them your mobile for repairing.

  • N96 & PC Suite & Ovi Suite connectivity - USB

    Hi
Forgive me if this has already been covered.  I've searched the forums and have not found a definitive answer.
    Win XP Pro SP 3
Micro USB cable supplied with N96, standard USB cable for N95
    N96 Type RM-247
    Software version 20.050
    N95 (01.01) RM-159
    V 31.0.017
    PC Suite 7.1.26.1
    Ovi suite
I have an N95 and two N96's.  Both N96's have been updated to the above software using PC Suite.  After the update, neither N96 is recognised by PC suite.  N95 is happily recognised.  I've installed Ovi in desperation and it opens knowing that I have an N95 but will not connect to either N95 or N96
The N96's connect as unknown USB devices.  In Device Manager I have 5 USB 2.0 devices with Yellow question marks.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled PC suite 5x.  I have also uninstalled the cable drivers and PC Connectivity.
Also, connecting the N96 to the USB cable will sometimes result in BSOD - a driver conflict.  Has anyone any ideas how I can get the N96's recognised?  The software update seems to have caused the problem.
    Thanks

I uninstalled again last night, used CC Cleaner to clear all traces, checked DM - only the N95 is listed and then reinstalled PC S 7.  The instant I connected an N96 to the USB cable, I got a BSOD and a driver error notification.  Went to bed after that......

  • N96 , PC Suite and USB2.0 Confusion

    -Sorry for my English-
    FW Version: 10.xxx - Turkey
I recently bought my new Nokia N96 and tried to connect it via NSeries PC Suite(From official Nokia CD). It didnt work. Strangely, I can browse/upload/remove my files with N96 if I reach it with "My Computer > Nokia N96" But PC Suite doesnt know anything about my phone, it simply "ignored".
After couple hours, I tried to install Nokia PC Suite(not NSeries one) from official site. I installed it, Plugged in my phone via "PC Suite Mode" and it worked. But when I try to backup&update firmware&browse my files etc. it disconnects.
Luckily, I chose different way. I plugged out it from my USB port(it doesnt work with "any" of my ports and I can use all my flash discs etc. only N96 doesnt work.) and tried to plug it to my Logitech G15 -2 USB ports included with this keyboard, some kind of "hub"- and it works. Connected my N96, NSeries and normal PC Suite can reach my phone, I can backup my files and do sth else. But Its not USB2.0 . So, its really "slow".  And If I unplug N96, my keyboard "restarts".
Now, I can use my N96 with PC Suite app if I plug it to my keyboard, but its slow. If I use USB2.0 ports, I can browse my files but cant use PC Suite at all. I tried plugging BT adapter, flash disc to these ports and they worked. So I think I dont have any problems with my ports.
I'll give 1 million dollar to one who solve this problem. ok, maybe i wont, but I really need help

Try to update the bios of your laptop/desktop from the manufacturer site. If you are using an assembled PC the motherboard manufacturer site is where you can go. Give us a feedback.

  • PC Suite problems after upgrading to the newest ve...

My Nokia PC Suite just notified me there is a new version. I had no problems running the previous version under my Vista but thought - what the hell, let's see what's new.
It turns out the upgrade disabled my internet connectivity (one touch access says no modem found), PC Sync is not working (cannot synchronise and when I click the "settings" button nothing happens) and I don't see the Nokia Phone Browser in Windows Explorer.
Tried reinstalling the Suite and connected apps, did not help.
Am I the only one with such problem?

    Hi.
I've got exactly the same problem. Upgraded from 6.81 to 6.84. I don't really care about 'many' options that pc suite offers, I just want to know WHY THE HELL when I press the SETTING button in PC Sync NOTHING HAPPENS??
I'm really anoyed now, can't sync my data at all. Thanks to you nokia developers...
I'm also running windows vista 32bit and don't tell me I should use a system restore option as it doesn't work even... Believe me, I've tried it not only once. After the restore, it says that I need to reinstall the pc suite... very funny.
DO SOMETHING for god's sake :/
Ohh... I also did the same what @dozer did. Uninstalling PC Suite, purging the Registry of all Nokia entries etc etcMessage Edited by zyxma on 30-Jul-200701:25 AM

  • N96 Photo Gallery Problems @ V20 Firmware Update

After updating my 96 to v20 i'm found broken icons/thumbnails in my gallery rather than the original pictures that we're there before the update. When i tried to delete i got an error message, the files didnt delete and remained on the phone so i was left with a gallery fully of nothing but broken icons/thumbnails. I tried back up restore from the back up file created on the sd card rom file manager but to no avail the problem remained the same.
Some thoughts we're juggling and i decided to do the thre finger reset which took the phone completely back to as it was out've the box and start from scratch restablishing the phone. After all all my main stuff, my music, was on the sd card so removed the card and done the 3 finger reset.
The phone was restablished, running fine etc sd card inserted and off i went with a totally clean, error free phone...oh and immediately done a file manager back up to over write the old one. Yes i'd lost some pictures but hey the fleets of useless unmanagable borken icons had gone so felt i'd removed the corruption/erros off the phone.
Sadly not. Now when i then took pictures all is ok on taking the piccy and viewing immediately but when i returned to the gallery 5 mins later i found all the newly taken pics are also broken icons/thumbnails. File manager back up restore was carried out and the broken icons etc vanished but after that when i took pictures they quickly turned into broken icons in the gallery area. Once again sd card was removed and 3 finger reset done.
Now when i take pictures they are not even showing as captured in the gallery however are showing in the file manager.
Anyone else having such problems since V20 update ?? Anyone have any suggestions or managed to resolve this one ??
In addition to this i've noticed that some of my podcasts cannot no longer seen by music player however can be seen through file manager.  I'll explain the podcast problem in another posting when i get chance.

    I've got a similar problem.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "broken links", but since installing the v20 firmware, i have frozen or blank entries in some parts of my multimedia menu.
The 'last captured' entry in the 'photos' tab says "no images or video" and displays no image. This does not change when I take photos. The 'captured' entry also displays no image but accurately states and updates the number of photos in the gallery.
In a stranger twist, the 'now playing' entry in the 'music' tab now permanently displays the name and image of the last song I was playing before the firmware upgrade.
Contrary to these problems, the 'last viewed' entry in the 'video' tab accurately updates itself when I watch videos.
This is the first instance i've discovered of someone with a similar problem and so far no solution. I'm sure we're not alone. I imagine it's just some little fault in the firmware (God knows it wouldn't be the first in the N96's history) but what are the odds of Nokia distributing a fix?
Come on Nokia? How 'bout it? Anyone else got the same problem or even a fix?

  • CS6 Master Suite problem with Photo shop

I have a new macbook pro ( mid 2012 ) and it has the intel core i5 processor.  I just installed the CS6 Master Suite and everything works fine except for Photoshop.  I get the message : You can’t open the application “Adobe Photoshop CS6” because it is not supported on this type of Mac.  Any ideas?  Thanks

Thank you for your response.  Yes it meets all the system requirments.  As a matter of fact I had I had this same software installed on another macbook exactly like this one and had no problem with it.  That's why I just don't understand why I'm having trouble on this one.
